  1. Yawn... The ship itself isn't terribly interesting (neither shape nor color scheme), and the figures are also kinda meh. I don't understand what Skeleton Crew is even supposed to achieve, so I guess it's fitting that I couldn't care less about the LEGO set. On a slightly positive note, could have some interesting figure parts for customization, but again, especially when you put this next to the Dark Falcon on a shelf, doesn't strike me with as much "Wow" as I thought it would. It's probably show-accurate, so that's nice. Glad for those who like it, just not for me.
  2. To any LEGO DC designer that can read this message: send help. Your fanbase is losing its Ole Kirk mind. I demand one new Daily Planet D2C as compensation for the current duress undergoing the participants of this thread, and a 1 year moratorium on Batman and Joker only sets. Put Harley Quinn on ice too, for a bit. Please, kind DC Designer, hear my plea, save us, your collective fandom, who buy thy sets and contribute to thy bonus!
  3. Ginger is loosely defined these days, so I'm not too bothered by the color, It's "ginger-esque" which is good enough. The wig itself is just plain bad. Ditto on the meta thing, though. That's a lazy excuse, considering the other two look great. Mr. Terrific is basically ripped from the page, and Hawkgirl's outfit at least suits her personality. Besides, that'd be a stupid idea for a Green Lantern costume to not be designed by the wearer (and thus created by the ring). Lord should have no input on Guy's costume (and Guy wouldn't let him, come on). And before you say "but he's powered down", the costume is not a physical uniform. It's never a physical uniform. It is always a construct in and of itself.
  4. Jesus, that costume's terrible! I like Kendra's though, very street, very tough. I should clarify, Guy's costume isn't bad for a DC character, it's just not a Lantern uniform, and definitely not Guy Gardner. Also, that wig makes Nathan look like a Grandpa (or an ex-president ).
  5. I don't think we have anything confirmed besides the actual build now, though I'm worried we won't get an Astromech after all, as there's no ports (or a turnstyle for the head). Build-wise, probably the best summer set (next to the Falcon) figure wise, definitely at the bottom (only slightly above the other RTG sets due to Master Bob). Also, near-human Legonian for the win!
  6. Some may not like Bob's Starfighter due to it's appearance, which the more I stare longingly at it, the more I realize its retro aesthetic. It feels like a mixture of 2003-04 era sets, with just a twinge of modernity. Or even later, say 08 or 09. Others may dislike the color scheme. It's not the cleanest design, I'll admit, something fancy was needed here, but for what it is, I still like it a lot. Now, I want to see this basic design reused for a a new Blade of Dorin, maybe Aayla Secura's or Kit Fisto's Starfighter next. You can't beat the pancake. Edit: I meant Saesee Tiin's original Delta-7, the sunburst orange one.
  7. Best Delta-7 we've ever gotten. Flat, and appropriately arrowhead-shaped. Nice guns and the engines are nicely detailed, too. I think @THELEGOBATMAN predicted Bob's starfighter would be legendary. He was correct.
  8. To be fair, I'm pretty sure Mark did actually meet Batman in the show. So it was a genuine (albeit a legally-minesweeping) crossover. Unlike Agent Spider. I would love a Bat, but a regular scale first, then a UCS.
  9. "Skywalker's tanks are gone..." Commander Jet (SW:TCW S2E5 Landing at Point Rain) AT-TEs are most definitely the Republic's mainline tanks, far more so than obvious tank models like the TX-series. Same with the AT-AT I'd argue. But for the Seppies, Tri-Droids are just heavy assault units. The actual tanks would be the AAT and the Snail Droid (Corporate Alliance Tank Droid).
  10. Don't be afraid to say my name Looking closer at the 2017 version, it looks better than I remember, I still hold that the nose on the 2012 version is objectively the most accurate, but 2017 was a decent offering. The only thing this one has over its predecessors is the fins, 2012 wasn't as detailed and 2017 was laughably tiny. I wonder if a second skiff will come with the Barge, removing the need to purchase two of the pits. The problem (for me at least) is that if Lego never cared about those differences, I wouldn't mind as much. The fact that we went a whole 3-5 year stretch of LEGO putting out the best details in its Star Wars figures (2013-2018) just to get lazy now really ticks me off. But, I can't say I'm surprised, either. Hot take, I actually like both of those items in the 2006 Sail Barge better than this new set. Less accurate and flashy, sure, but the OG Sarlacc had unbeatable charm. Brock Starsher when? It'll just be on store shelves, no reveal necessary. There is literally zero reason he couldn't have come in a...ROTJ...Millennium...Falcon... We could've had a new OT Falcon. Instead we get Lego's Edgy Millennial Falcon. All that effort went into the Sarlacc pit, you'd think they'd actually make, y'know, a pit. I get wanting to have all the prisoner figures on the same skiff, but then why not switch Boba for a guard (as he's on the Khetanna until Luke breaks free), and save Boba for the Sail Barge set? Give us two henchmen and boom, problem solved. Best set would've been the next Falcon, but we probably won't get a new Falcon until at least 2026. The demand may have been too high to delay his release any longer. Still should've come in a B-Wing or something, but at least we have him now.
  11. These bulkier skiffs just aren't as accurate/good as the thinner, more sloped ones. 2012 is the most accurate skiff we've gotten in terms of both size and shape. While the details of this new one (particularly the fins) are nice, I can't stand that nose. The Sarlacc is good, but I'd rather have it paywalled behind a Sail Barge and have a cheaper skiff. Nien looks good, finally Rebel Friend can be made, Lego's stopped caring about figure accuracy (see literally any Hoth figure post-2016) so Boba doesn't surprise me. Luke and Lando are the best (regular) figures in the set. Still not worth $80. Night Trooper really needs arm printing and more helmet printing to look good. It's too clean imo. The actual set looks nice, but I don't care enough about the show to put this on my wishlist. Maybe I'll bricklink Thrawn but that's it.
  12. Night Trooper sucks, omg. Whoever priced the Skiff is on spice, 80 kriffing dollars!? And it's the crappy round design, not the sloped design from 2012 and earlier.
  13. I would love to see some Caped Crusader sets. It's a nice excuse for Lego to reuse to 1939 cowl, plus a host of fedoras and suit prints. Early-to-mid-1900s car designs are a banger as well. Onomatopoeia, Harley Quinn, Clayface, Firefly, Two-Face, Penguin, and more! C'mon Lego, I need that Clayface. I'm willing to do unspeakable things for that classic Clayface.
  14. Why gripe over my gripe? Love how everyone showed how little street cred they possessed when they complained over Cortosis It's a fiction thing. And it's here to stay. So get ready for Mandalorian Season 4: Gideon Boogaloo x2, with twice as many Imperial Commandos as before! Oh, so basically what Disney's doing now. Both canons have contradictions, it comes with the territory. Legends tended to be consistent overall though, due to the linear nature of the original book series, only contradicting pieces of lore that not even George himself had fully established (aka the Prequels). Once prequel material got involved, things got complicated, but it's a large galaxy. And now Lego expects us to rebuild it! And even travel beyond it! To hopefully stray back on target, could anyone tell by the trailer if Jedi Bob will be yellow or not? I feel like it's an important detail.
  15. Didn't take it seriously. Still a dumb joke. I think he should be dead, but this is Disney we're talking about. They have a rather bad habit of resurrecting their villains. But, to the original point, I think it'd be rather odd if we didn't get the Commandos, and unlike Enoch, they absolutely required new molds in order to be done right. Enoch will look passable at worst with an existing mold. I mean, when the Razor Crest bit the dust, all that survived was Mando's beskar spear. Gideon ain't dead, y'all.
  16. Thanks. Good selection. Could use a thug or two, but I'm guessing that's what the Sail Barge is for. It's a stupid joke, it comes off more ignorant than humorous. Saying its a joke doesn't make it any less stupid. C-3PO was a joke, too, but that at least made sense. A better joke would've been saying that C-3PO and R2-D2 were lovers. That and more recently, the OG 187th and Darth Malak. I agree somewhat, but her smuggler uniform would at least give us a new dark tan scarf, new hood w/goggles, or a new hairpiece in the dark red color. Full disclosure, I made a Mara Jade that I'm happy with, but not everyone has those parts or reasonable access to those parts.
  17. If there isn't a body, with a confirmed loss of pulse, never rule out their return. First rule of action movies. Plus, with beskar's absurd durability (not to mention, Gregor survived something similar) I wouldn't be surprised. You're still missing the point. If Lego can blow money making their own OC crap, they can afford a set here and there for the Legends fans. Not to mention, that if it's cool enough, kids aren't gonna care that they haven't seen it on tv. People have to start giving imaginative youngsters more credit. Or in the words of Sidious, "I will make it [relevant]". Totally how the quote went. Besides, people discover the Legends stuff all the time, especially the Thrawn Trilogy, New Jedi Order and Star Wars: Republic stuff. Star Wars fans will seek out all its content. And let's not get started on the video games. All I'm saying is, a little fanservice never hurt anyone's pockets (see 501st Legion Troopers). Who's in the Skiff again? Besides Numbuh Nine?
  18. I was literally like "how is R2 a lesbian when he's male-programmed?" I want to see Peridia just so I can laugh at how utterly non-controversial Enoch turns out. All this speculation just for him to turn out looking great! Is Jedi Bob fleshie or yellow? I think he should be a near-human alien with yellow skin, a Legonian or some such, lol. And do we get a Clone Trooper? Lastly, I hope the skiff is more 2012 than 2016, it's a set that you really can't screw up. Gideon ain't dead. Don't know who needs to hear that, but you're welcome. We'll see the Commandos again. Enoch will look good no matter what, I believe that. He could use a TIE/AT-AT Pilot helmet. This. If LEGO insists on giving us things like Freemakers and RTG, then we can get Legends set. All the armchair marketing people can't argue about relevance and recognizability when nobody knows who Darth Dev is.
  19. I get it, it's just ugly as sin. I will gladly assert that this is a wasted set slot, I'd have taken it without the silly accessories. I understand that it's cute and fun for some, but it makes an already iffy idea that much more ridiculous. Also, you could get the parts in other sets and print out a set of instructions. There aren't enough exclusive parts or prints to make this worth it.
  20. The Anniversary figures should've had a theme. If that was Sith, do all Sith (Malak, Bane, Nihilus, New Revan, Krayt, Plagueis) If that was Clones, do all clones (Fives, Bacara, Snow Rex, Jet, AT-RT Driver, Odd Ball) If that was video games, do all gaming characters (Cal, Revan, Bastilla, Starkiller, etc.) If it was Saga Wide, do niche figs from 1-6/9 (Shmi, Zam/Dexter, Bail/Zett, Tatooine Biggs/Yularen, Wilrow Hood, Nien Nunb) If it's franchise-wide, every set should've had an anniversary figure. That way, letdowns like Leia wouldn't feel so disappointing. That said, while I don't think (outside of Malak and R2-KT if real) any of these characters are special enough for the anniversary hype, they're all pretty good figures in their own right. Where's a Clone Commando (or an ISB Agent) when you need one?
  21. Luke had incredible game in Legends post-Jedi. The fact that he settled at all is more surprising.
  22. Counterpoint, she married Luke and continued the Skywalker Legacy, was a Jedi Master who played a vital role in the YV War, and was all-round pretty awesome until her death at the hands of the real Kylo Ren, Jacen Solo aka Darth Caedus. Dammit, now I want a Darth Caedus minifig, too.
  23. That is a sensible argument. I've seen Star Wars classified as Science Fantasy, which is probably the most accurate description. Also, Star Wars' being set in the past is debatable. Some theorize that it's a long time ago from someone else's perspective (say R2-D2) and still in the far future, but that's just nerd talk. For all intents and purposes, it reads like a fairy tale.
  24. How Disney uses hyperspace does jettison waste over how GL established it, though. But I'd argue that makes it more sci-fi, not less.
  25. Thank God someone gets this. I'm so tired of people not understanding the entire point of that interaction. It doesn't help that later Star Wars writers were too stupid to understand that and decided to make sense of an obvious lie. (Looking at you, Solo. And yes, I'm aware Legends did the same. It was stupid then, too) Ah yes, because sci-fi never takes artistic liberties with the laws of physics. Literally every sci-fi anything ever. Or is pseudo-science too fake to be sci-fi? Star Trek, Halo, Green Lantern, Flash Gordon, War of the Worlds, I could go on. There are always fantastical elements in science fiction, the science itself is fiction. I agree that Star Wars is more accurately defined as Science Fantasy, but that's a blend of both the Science Fiction genre, and the Fantasy genre. Two things can be true at the same time. Besides, a lot of the tech in the OT is designed in the style of hard sci-fi, with few fantasy elements thrown in (such as faster than light travel, which is scientifically impossible).
