  1. I think this is kind of blind optimism, like @Mister Phes said. My only thought and hope is that they are planning to release a new wave of Pirates, when the new Pirates of the Caribbean movies come out. I'm one of them. In my mind Bluecoats are regular army, Redcoats are elite Imperial Guard army. And Greencoats are something like special operations... and this because I prefer to include them in some category in order to integrate them in the whole Pirates Theme, instead of tossing them away and pretending like they didn't happen at all. But all in all, I'm not really interested in Greencoats.
  2. Caribbean Clipper, The Fortress - Imperial Army and Seagull Bay Lighthouse Imperial Fortress were not approved. From 35 projects that were qualified for reviewing, only one was chosen!
  3. Before you sell it, can you upload some more photos of the interior? Middle and front part of the ship? And especially here. This looks very interesting. Also, does your boys play with these ship?
  4. Your post + I also added to have an Imperial Ship (Updated Caribbean Clipper), an Imperial Harbor-Fortress, a big Pirate Base and an Imperial Merchant ship. Yes I know, I want a lot.
  5. Nice ship! Album lacks 2-3 good side pictures of the ship.
  6. They're not LEGO but the newer models have improved a lot. And they are selling a lot. I hope LEGO releases soon an Imperial/Pirate ship, in the 50-70€ range (besides the updated Caribbean Clipper of course) .
  7. If Chinese could also had the opportunity to vote, we might had a chance of coming 1st. As a person that has many Chinese "LEGO" Pirate Ships, I know and understand the love of Chinese for LEGO Pirates.
  8. If it's really true, then it's good news for us Pirates. Although I voted for "Pirates" and "Imperials", with really the desire for an Imperial Ship or Base, since we already got 2 Pirate sets in 2020. But the way I see it, the whole fragmentation thing that LEGO did with "Space" and "Castle" is one giant clusterfu...
  9. Very interesting and useful thread! Thanks for this!
  10. Wow! Nice find this contest! And this is a good looking little ship. What type is it? A brigantine? Here is another picture.
  11. Nice collection! Does your son play with your Pirates LEGO?
  12. May I suggest you also comment here and also put a picture in your comment. https://ideas.lego.com/blogs/a4ae09b6-0d4c-4307-9da8-3ee9f3d368d6/post/fd5cc3b8-284f-4520-825f-7c3f5e4a50fe Let's make some noise! Arrrrr!
  13. Too many different subentries for Space and Castle. Although clearly Bionicle will win by a lot. At least let's try to make it to the top three themes.
  14. Keep in mind that Chinese companies have started to illegally copy MOC creations from AFOLs, making their own products out of them and selling them for their own profit. So LEGO MOCers making instructions for their MOCs and selling them, although highly desirable from us AFOLs, it has become a double edged sword and it will make it easier for the Chinese companies to further expand on their bad practice.
  15. Nice! How old is your son? 5, 6?
  16. Leave the yellow pieces as is, make cannon covers blue, add some blue at the stern, change stairs is middle from white to black or brown, add a white stripe to the sides of the ship as in the original Caribbean Clipper. Just my 2 cents.
  17. Nice. Since you modded it, have you tried adding another middle section hull part? I think it will look better. Now it's looks kind of "fat".
  18. True. But "Photography" and "Presentation", each is a skill of its own. And many people just don't have those skills. Maybe a post/thread by those who have those skills with useful tips/guides about how to properly photograph and present your creation would be useful.

  20. A new Red Beard Runner, like the one below, would be great. But after the release of a New Caribbean Clipper. By the way, LEGO should really up it's game. Chinese companies have started to illegally copy MOC designs from fans, making products out of them and selling them for profit.
  21. Ok, this is absolutely fantastic! What kind of technique is this for the walls? I don't think I have seen it before.
