  1. I would also guess Comic Con (July 22) or Harry Potter’s birthday (July 31 - same as Rowling’s but I don’t think companies will be celebrating her any time soon). And thanks for your thoughts @Falconfan1414 - any clarification you can offer on our question of minifig vs microscale? Was the info you revealed just an educated guess or was it based on a real leak? Thanks again! I’d be curious to know what their dream Harry Potter sets to design would be. I imagine we will get some really interesting answers - ranging from Hagrid’s Motorbike to Grimmauld Place to Hogsmeade Village - that might indicate what future releases are in store.
  2. “Most likely” is definitely odd wording to use in a leak reveal that came complete with a countdown clock Regardless, I agree with you 100% - I have no doubt Marcos and his team are going to deliver an amazing minifig scale Diagon Alley set. I also took the tease and the post from @Falconfan1414 to indicate that we would see the official reveal of Diagon Alley any day now - possibly even early next week. Very exciting!
  3. Marcos Bessa is hands down my favorite LEGO designer of all time. In addition to the sets you’ve listed, I think his Expecto Patronum will go down in history as one of the best small sets ever designed. I’ve had the pleasure of exchanging a few DMs with Marcos on Instagram, and he is also just the sweetest, nicest guy. We will be very fortunate if he is the design lead on the D2C Diagon Alley set. He genuinely loves Harry Potter and will definitely do Diagon Alley justice. Any word from @Falconfan1414 on the minifig vs microscale debate? Is it just me or does anyone else remember his countdown reveal confirming the $400 D2C Diagon Alley in which he said he had info indicating the set was minifig scale?
  4. @Falconfan1414 could you help us put this debate over minifig scale vs microscale to bed? Didn’t you say in your countdown reveal confirming the $400 D2C Diagon Alley that you had info indicating that the set would be minifig scale?
  5. When I first read this, I thought you meant Chris Pratt had a contest for someone to choose his character’s death in Dominion! I was like... spoiler alert??? Haha. But now I realize it was a contest to be an extra on the set and get eaten by a dino. Phew. I would want to be the first character to fall victim to the 10-foot adult Dilophosaurus. I’ve wanted to see that dino in its full glory on the big screen since I was a kid and realized the one in Jurassic Park was just a youngling. I also appreciate that LEGO has given us the Dilophosaurus in both its adult and juvenile forms.
  6. I’m normally the first person to support a forum member’s right to share an unpopular idea, but I feel like @Fuppylodders is just being argumentative for the sake of being argumentative. Enough is enough. Can we please just put this conversation to bed already? The $400 Diagon Alley D2C will be minifig scale. We have already seen a leak of an obscure Diagon Alley background character in minifig form, as well as our main character with a play feature face. Besides, we already have a microfig scale Diagon Alley! Maybe @Falconfan1414 can help us out here? Didn’t he mention in his countdown reveal that he had info indicating Diagon Alley would in fact be minifig scale?
  7. Haha it definitely is not normal. I’ve become a bit spoiled with same-day and next-day Amazon Prime delivery. I probably emailed Steinchenwelt weekly to see if they had any additional info. It sounds like they use a really low budget shipping service and, with Covid-19, it just got delayed. But my orders from Zavvi UK came in only four days! I ordered on a Monday evening and had my sets in hand by Friday morning.
  8. In case any of my fellow Americans are still waiting on sets to arrive from abroad - I have good news! Six weeks after ordering from Steinchenwelt, today I finally got notice that my packages have arrived in the US. I imagine I will have them in hand next week. Hope you all get yours soon too. For folks who are still thinking about ordering from abroad, I definitely recommend ordering from ZAVVI instead of Steinchenwelt or any other company. ZAVVI uses an incredibly fast shipping service and my Astronomy Tower and Forbidden Forest sets arrived only four business days after ordering. And they were way cheaper than Steinchenwelt!
  9. I agree. Daedalus Diggle and Doris Crockford are at the top of my list of minifigs I hope to be included in the D2C Diagon Alley set. I mean just look at how weird and fantastic they are!
  10. I agree 100%. It wasn’t my idea and no, it probably isn’t realistic, but I still don’t think we should be calling each other’s ideas “dumb” regardless of the context. There are other ways to express an opinion (as you just did so well) that aren’t so rude and argumentative. Anyway, the point has been made. Back to LEGO! I also agree that it’s clear next year’s sets will largely be based on JW Dominion. But this movie will be the first to fully take place in the “real world” - not in the fun park environment that the previous Jurassic films have been... I wonder if LEGO is worried about how this will translate into sets that kids will want to buy. Could we possibly be getting another season of LEGO’s Legend of Isla Nublar so there can be a few more age-appropriate sets based in the park? My dream would be for JW Dominion (or one of the future JW films) to feature Jurassic World Europe and Jurassic World Japan, which were mentioned in the original Jurassic Park novel. Ultimately, as long as the sets feature cool new dinos, I don’t think it will matter much to kids. Speaking of cool new dinos, what dinos are folks hoping we get in the new wave? My list is below! - Stegosaurus - Parasaurolophus - Mosasaur - Spinosaurus - Brachiosaurus I would love this as a wave too. Great ideas!
  11. I totally forgot that Quirrell is in that first scene in the Leaky Cauldron! Yes, I agree that he would be great to include. I don’t think many people would complain about getting another copy of him, maybe with an iguana this time. The other minifig I didn’t list but who keeps coming to mind is Dean Thomas. Isn’t he in that scene outside of Quality Quidditch Supplies where the kids are all ogling the new Nimbus 2000? Dean would add some diversity to the lineup, too, so it wouldn’t be all-white minifigs with a couple goblins.
  12. Now that we’ve seen the first two minifigs from the D2C Diagon Alley set, I am really curious to hear what other minifigs folks think we could be getting in this set. My guess is that we’ll get 16 minifigs total, all based on their appearances in the first two films, including: - Hagrid - Harry Potter (confirmed) - Ron Weasley - Hermione Granger - Ginny Weasley - Gilderoy Lockhart - Draco Malfoy - Lucius Malfoy - Borgin - Tom the Barman - Ollivander - Florian Fortescue (confirmed) - 2x Gringott’s Goblins - Doris Crockford - Dedalus Diggle
  13. I think the LEGO Assembly Square gives us a possible example for how Borgin & Burke’s could be incorporated into Diagon Alley. See how the flower shop is set back from the pretzel shop but they still line up in the back? It’s just designed to be shallower so it gives the perception of being further back. If Borgin and Burke’s is included, I imagine it will be a much shallower build than the rest of the shops so that the set will make for a nice clean display piece.
  14. It wasn’t my idea, but thanks. Unless you and @Guyon2002 have MBAs, you really shouldn’t be calling fellow forum members’ ideas “dumb” from a business point of view. It’s just LEGO. Maybe @AxolotlPlays is on to something with their dino idea. It would be a great way to build a big park full of dinos. They could still have exclusive dinos in the sets. Maybe it’s not realistic, but there is need to be condescending.
  15. @Guyon2002 I know English isn’t your first language and, as always, I appreciate your insight and feedback on this and the LEGO Harry Potter forum - but I would ask you to refrain from calling anyone’s ideas here “dumb.” It’s rude and unnecessary. We’re talking about little plastic toys here. No need to take it so seriously.
  16. I couldn’t agree more. Bourgin and Burke’s is one of a small handful of shops in the Diagon Alley neighborhood that we actually get to see the interior (and the owner) of in the movies. I would be thrilled to get this building included in the D2C Diagon Alley set. Why wouldn’t LEGO include it? It creates a source of conflict within the set and there are so many fun elements that could be included - the vanishing cabinet, the cursed hand, the cursed necklace, all the Dark materials. I imagine it would be set a little bit behind the rest of the buildings like how LEGO has done with its recent City sets.
  17. I think the latter is the more likely scenario. I have a feeling we will be getting an “Escape from Gringott’s” set with the Ukrainian Ironbelly and maybe some rollercoaster tracks with a minecart as an add-on next year. Something like the LotR Smaug set (but with a brickbuilt dragon). I doubt it will be marketed as an add-on to the D2C Diagon Alley set, but I imagine anyone who buys the D2C will want it so they can display the dragon atop Gringott’s like it is at Universal Studios.
  18. I agree. And I wouldn’t feel cheated at all. An add-on or two would just be value-added to my $400 investment. I’d be happy if LEGO gave us a fully-realized PS / COS Diagon Alley as the D2C - sparing no expense and including iconic settings like the Leaky Cauldron. And, next year, I would definitely still pay $70-$100 for a fully-realized WWW and $50-$70 for a play set expansion of Gringott’s that included the Ukrainian Ironbelly. To be clear, I think we are almost guaranteed to get Gringott’s in the D2C, but I doubt it will include the dungeon and dragon.
  19. I agree. It was an unpopular prediction when I first shared it here, but I’ve seriously doubted we will get WWW from the beginning. I, too, hope to be proven wrong but, in my mind, WWW makes much more sense as a stand-alone set with HBP minifigs that can be connected to the D2C next year. I think the designers of the D2C Diagon Alley are going to try to capture that initial sense of magic and wonder from Harry’s first experiences (PS and COS) in Diagon Alley: The Leaky Cauldron with the moving wall and the rando witches and wizards, Quality Quidditch Supplies with a Nimbus 2000 in the window, Ollivander’s with some kind of wand magic action, Flourish & Blotts with Lockhart amidst the towering stacks of books, Gringott’s with the massive chandelier and the rows of Goblins, flying owls and bats, push carts with butter beer and ice cream, and, yes, even a hint of Knockturn Alley. I, for one, am stoked that we are possibly getting Borgin and Burkes. It means we could also be getting a new Lucius, Borgin, and that creepyass Knockturn Alley witch that asks Harry “Not lost are you my dear?” She’s my favorite.
  20. Floo powder Harry!!! What an adorable printing job they’ve done on him. The stretched out shirt collar from Dudley’s hand me down clothes is a nice touch. And his sooty face is perfect! Could this mean we are getting Borgin and Burke after all???

  22. Mini_legogo has posted a countdown to a new LEGO Harry Potter Diagon Allley reveal! Only 11 minutes to go!
  23. As I said in my original post, which was in response to @AxolotlPlays CMF idea, do I think a Jurassic World CMF is likely? No. But do I think it is possible? Anything is possible. Folks on this forum are too quick to shut down each other’s ideas and discussions. Let’s try instead to think creatively. The LEGO Jurassic World license is here to stay. Next year, there is a massive marketing and merchandising blitz being planned for Jurassic World Dominion, which will be “the start of a new era” of Jurassic movies. If you worked at LEGO, and they told you to take advantage of this momentum and increase sales by offering items at a broader range of price points, what would you suggest? Maybe dino battle packs? Maybe a series of carded back sets (like the HP students minifig set) with one dino, one minifig, and a tiny build? Maybe a CMF series? Maybe another D2C? I’m curious to hear what ideas folks think LEGO is cooking up to coincide with what is anticipated to be the biggest summer blockbuster of 2021.
  24. Chill out bro. I was responding to @Tom Jurassic saying he hopes the license continues... And in my suggestion re: a potential CMF series I said it could include Dino parts so that when you collect them all you can make a mix-and-match Dino hybrid.
