Harry Potter 2020 - Rumors & Discussion
sebastian666 replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
I stated earlier that I believe this rumor and I have been predicting a Duel in the Ministry Atrium set from the beginning. There is no need to condescend people who have different opinions than you. And there are plenty of folks on Instagram and on other forums who also believe we will be getting the Duel in the Ministry Atrium scene from the climax of OotP. We will see who is right soon enough. -

I have been predicting the Duel in the Ministry Atrium set from the beginning. I don’t understand why some folks find this set so hard to believe. This new LEGO series is largely focused on OotP and the Ministry Duel is the climactic scene of that film. The build will almost certainly be centered around the golden Fountain of Magical Brethren statue and probably feature a semi-circle of tall bay windows set in emerald green bricks representing the Ministry offices. Probably will include a London phone booth too. Minifigs could include Voldemort, Dumbledore, Harry, and a pearl gold centaur, wizard, and house elf as the statue. I imagine a build similar to the Basilisk in bright orange to represent the fire snake Voldemort conjures. It’s a smart decision because it also provides a play set for Kingsley, Arthur, Umbridge, Fudge, and the other Ministry characters to interact. -

This is not entirely inaccurate. We still don’t have confirmation on the final two sets, and one of them could very well be a Department of Mysteries Battle. I highly doubt it, but, in all fairness, a rumor can’t really be “false” until we have actual confirmation. My prediction is that we will get a Ministry of Magic Duel instead. I imagine it centering around a Fountain of Magical Brethren build (similar to how the Rise of Voldemort set centered around grave statue build) and maybe some stacked windows to represent the Ministry. Possible minifigs would include Voldemort, Dumbledore, Harry, and a pearl gold centaur, wizard, and house elf (statues). -

Is that also a new Lord Voldemort figure in the top of the photo? If it is, I think we can safely say he is from the rumored Ministry of Magic Atrium Battle set. Really hoping we get a pearl gold centaur as part of a Fountain of Magical Brethren build. -

My prediction has always been that we will get a Ministry of Magic Atrium set depicting the climactic scene from OotP where Voldemort and Dumbledore duel. I wager that the set will be based around a small build of the Fountain of Magical Brethren, which will include a pearl gold centaur, wizard, witch, and house elf. There could also be some fun “magic” builds like the fire snake Voldemort conjures and the wave ball Dumbledore casts. -

Am I going crazy or was Kingsley Shacklebolt not featured - exactly as he appears in the new CMF series - on the cover of the new Harry Potter LEGO search and find book? He’s no longer there! Did they change the cover art? -

If you take one of the joints out of the tail and add it to the Horntail’s neck, it really isn’t that bad. By extending the length of the neck, the Horntail looks much more like a dragon and much less like a demonic bird. -

This is what I am hoping #75980 (the $100 August set) will be. As the headquarters for the Order of the Phoenix, it makes perfect sense as a set in a series that appears to be based on OoTP and HBP. The home serves as a key setting in both books / movies. Plus, the facade would offer City fans a beautiful piece of Georgian architecture from an iconic London neighborhood. Take a look at one of the winners from last year’s Lego Wizarding World holiday contest for some ideas on what the interior could look like: https://ideas.lego.com/challenges/fa395293-eda9-4603-83cc-aac44c1052cb/application/2a7993f5-2abb-4c27-ad7e-2b60345883b3 -

That was me! I had a strong feeling that this is how Bellatrix would appear in the CMF. She even has her prisoner ID# like I imagined! I’m pleasantly surprised to see that Moaning Myrtle has a bluish tint, unlike Nearly Headless Nick. Also very happy that Dumbledore looks to be the version where he drops off Harry at Privet Drive (another prediction several of us on here had). Can anyone make out what Harry is holding (other than his wand)? Could that be a new Marauder’s Map? So nice to have some good news amidst all the chaos going on in the world right now. -

So many LEGO leaks on Instagram right now. The Mandalorian’s Razor Crest w Baby Yoda, new Minions sets, new Friends sets, CMF Series 20... Hopefully, it’s only a matter of days (or hours) before we start getting some Harry Potter leaks! -

I am referring to the second wave for 2020 - the two sets slated for August release. And I would argue that LEGO considers more than just minifigure variants when deciding which building sets to produce... I would also argue that the winners of the LEGO Ideas contests are quite a good indication of where the company’s mind is at. For example, one of the winners in its 2018 Harry Potter contest was a beautiful Beauxbatons carriage that looks almost identical to the set that LEGO released in its second wave for 2019. (See here - https://ideas.lego.com/challenges/642ce72d-0872-48ef-a27b-a6bbeecc9027/application/dc7d1271-53bb-470b-8211-a9890ad90374) Either way, the Shrieking Shack is not a set that is on my personal wishlist, I am just trying to read the tea leaves and predict what is possible. I also think, and I’ve said it here before, that if we follow the vehicle theory (2x per annual collection), that there is a good chance we could be getting the Durmstrang ship instead. 2018 gave us the Ford Anglia and the Hogwarts Express, 2019 gave us the Knight Bus and the Beauxbatons Carriage, 2020 is giving us a rerelease of the Ford Anglia, which leaves one vehicle slot open... But this idea has been shot down by the “experts” on what is possible here before, too. I guess we’ll have to wait and see who is right, and it’s always fun to theorize in the meantime. I am pretty confident, though, that the smaller of the two new sets will be a Battle at the Ministry of Magic build. Here’s hoping that we start to see some leaks soon! -

One set that hasn’t received a lot of attention as a possibility for the second wave is the Shrieking Shack. The original set from 2004 was a nice build that gave us Sirius as a dog and Lupin as a werewolf. It even came with a little Honeydukes storefront. Given LEGO’s apparent affinity for all things Hogsmeade as indicated by the winners of last year’s holiday scene contest (https://ideas.lego.com/challenges/fa395293-eda9-4603-83cc-aac44c1052cb?query=&sort=top#search-app), I think the Shrieking Shack has a shot. It would also offer some nice playability with 2018’s Whomping Willow set, and complement last year’s Prisoner of Azkaban sets. I also think there is a very good chance that the Advent Calendar will be Hogsmeade themed this year (I’m picturing a background illustration of the snowy rooftops as they appear in the Wizarding World theme park), and that LEGO will save the Yule Ball as a theme for next year. -

CMF 20 has started leaking on Instagram. First figure looks like a child at a fiesta. New sombrero mold and new piñata mold from what I can tell. Hopefully this means we can hope to see some Harry Potter minifigs leaking soon... -

This set (or some version of it) was one a lot of us predicted on here. Very excited to see some photos of the centaurs. I predict we will get a black centaur and a brown centaur (Bane and Magorian). And I agree - now that the centaur mold is confirmed, I think there is a good chance of us getting a Palomino colored Firenze in the CMF Series. -

This makes me re-think some of my CMF predictions. I think Lego will want to give us characters that complement this set and enhance its playability. Characters like - Nymphadora Tonks - Kingsley Schacklebolt - Hagrid and his motorcycle - Dumbledore with baby Harry - new McGonagal with Gray Cat Transfiguration - Fred and George Weasely - new Dobby with Cake - Aunt Marge with Ripper Bulldog - Sirius with Black Dog Animagus etc. -
