Wow! I am pleasantly surprised that we are getting WWW. I never thought we would get Gringott’s AND WWW, but it looks like that may still be a possibility. Can anyone make out what sticker 11 on sheet A says? It looks like it could say “Goblin” or “Galleria” something... -

Ζήτω η Ελλάδα ! Haha. I live in America but my family has a summer home on the island of Crete. No European travel for us this year though . Greek toy stores really are the best. I remember getting new Star Wars toys every summer that my friends in the US couldn’t get until the fall because Greeks could care less about shelf dates. Fun fact: the Greek edition of Harry Potter is JK Rowling’s #1 favorite of all the translations. Anyway, back to LEGO! -

Sorry, but I don’t think that guy is reliable. And he didn’t leak the CMF. He stole someone else’s content (@lucky_lego_store from Romania) and posted it without giving any credit. Like so many other “LEGO leakers” he just recycles content that he finds on other people’s accounts and tries to pass himself off as someone who has “insider info.” The only genuine “LEGO leaker” for the Harry Potter series that I have ever seen is @TheRandomBlocker. If we do get some additional info on Diagon Alley today, I will be thrilled, but I am not giving any credit to @lego_fans_news for making a lucky guess. -

Yes! That’s exactly what I was thinking. Maybe LEGO will go this route in 2022 once it’s covered DH and can circle back to revisit the movies it’s already made sets for. -

I’d love to see your display when it’s all done. There are some awesome GoT LEGO MOCs out there right now. Nothing can really beat the MC Drogon head mold though. I think this would be a smart strategy for LEGO to test out in this line: $75+ sets that focus on the “fantastic beasts” of the Wizarding World. I would pay that much and more for a badass Horntail, Ironbelly, Basilisk, Fluffy, Mountain Troll, etc. All the set needs to feature is the creature, maybe a small build, a minifig or two, and I’m sold. -

Speaking of Spinosaurus... I’m fascinated to see if and how this dino will be incorporated into Jurassic World Dominion. There have been so many paleontological discoveries (even just a few weeks ago!) related to Spinosaurus since JWIII that I highly doubt they will include the same animal from that film (didn’t Dr Grant torch it anyway?). I would love to see a new paleontologically accurate Spinosaurus (mostly aquatic) that’s either a BioSyn development or something that escaped the volcano by swimming away (like the Mosasaurus) from Isla Nublar. A Spinosaurus is #1 on my LEGO dino wish list, so I really hope the dino has a role to play in the film. @Guyon2002 can you ask your friend to please make us a LEGO Spinosaurus mock up??? Haha I’m only half-joking! -

Just deleted the post - sorry for the excitement. It was posted by some LEGO / gaming blogger under the #legoleaks on Instagram but the guy isn’t credible. It was just a blurry photo. -

The “Muggles Are Our Friends” poster / printed tile is making its rounds again on Instagram - @lego_fans_news_ claims it is from the new Diagon Alley set. I’m still not convinced that it’s real... What do you all think? -

I’m surprised we haven’t seen any more HD pics of the CMF series from our friends in Romania! I’m so desperate for new content, I almost considered offering @lucky_lego_store some money just to post pics of the front and back of the minifigs out of the bag! -

The Dilophosaurus in that set is supposed to be a juvenile - like the one that killed Nedry and the one that is “on the loose” in the LEGO Legend of Isla Nublar miniseries. If you are looking for an adult dino, I highly recommend set 75931 Dilophosaurus Outpost Attack. The Dilophosaurus that comes in that set is my favorite dino that has been made to date. Everything about it, from the size to the mold to the colors, is perfect to me: -

I think the Beauxbatons Carriage set (which is also one of my favorites) exemplifies the shift in LEGO’s marketing strategy for Harry Potter: get more girls to buy these sets. LEGO probably learned after the first wave’s release that girls make up a large percentage of the Harry Potter fan base and marketing some of the sets to them presents an opportunity to increase sales. Look at both of the big new castle sets. The focus is not on conflict and action features, but rather on galas and dance parties. Same with this year’s advent calendar. Consider even the room of requirement set. That set is really all about Hermione and Luna. Why Luna and not Ron? It’s a very smart strategy and it appears to be working, but I wonder if that’s why we have yet to see things like a big nasty troll, a basilisk, or even Fluffy. I realize I’m perpetrating problematic gender norms here, but I think it’s safe to say that the current lineup of sets is, well, a bit girly. No complaints from me - but I wouldn’t be surprised if next year’s sets are more focused on scenes like Fleur’s wedding than a big Battle of Hogwarts set. I hope they do strike a bit more of a balance though. Maybe we will still get the Durmstrang ship but it will be heavy on the mermaid minifigs and light on the cannon firing action features. I would be well happy with that! -

I only have Bag End, but I’m dying for Orthanc and a few more. Your wish for a LEGO LOTR reboot may come true sooner than you think! Next year, Amazon Prime is launching it’s LOTR prequel series - it’s one of the most expensive television deals in history - and there are already some huge names attached. JJ Abrams is advising and JA Bayona (Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom) is directing. Production began back in November but had to halt this year due to Covid19. If there was ever a reason to reboot LEGO LOTR, this would be it! -

I would love an Azkaban prisons set! And I think James and Lily can fit easily into a Mirror of Erised scene in the Great Hall set, or a (admittedly morbid) scene before Hagrid and Dumbledore deliver Harry to Privet Drive, etc. -

Even though you can’t put Bellatrix in a specific set, she greatly enhances the Burrow set, because she features a new Bellatrix face print which can be swapped out for the horrible Mantis face that she comes with. -

Regarding the debate over the CMF figure selections, it’s apparent to me that LEGO chooses figures that will enhance the perceived value and playability of the existing Harry Potter sets. With one notable exception, each and every one of the figures in this CMF wave can fit perfectly into a scene that revolves around a currently available set. That exception - Griphook with the sword of Gryffindor the key to the Gringott’s vaults - is extremely exciting to me because I can see him fitting perfectly into an Escape from Gringott’s set with the Ukrainian Ironbelly dragon in 2021. As poor Griphook gets toasted to death by the dragon in that scene, he would never be included in a LEGO set based on it. Similar to poor Cedric (who didn’t fit neatly in an existing set in 2018) from the CMF series 1 who fit perfectly in the Rise of Voldemort set that come out the next year. I’m curious to hear what other folks think about this. Do you think LEGO plans that far ahead with CMF selections? I know there are also other considerations to make a successful blind bag series (like including a couple lame figures so kids keep buying more to get the figures they really want), but I wonder how much advance notice they have on future sets. -
