  1. Exactly. I don’t see how anyone can even consider a revised version of 10217 as an option. LEGO has proven itself over and over again since the 2018 reboot. We are talking about a $400 D2C set that is designed for 16-18+. LEGO is doing things differently this time, with an attention to detail and screen-accuracy that continues to surprise and delight us. The 2018 Diagon Alley GWP was a clear indication of how the LEGO designers are envisioning this set. I think a longer version of Assembly Square is exactly the format this set will be in. Also, is it just me or are others paranoid every time a new member called “Lord” something or “V” something comes around with a ridiculous suggestion about Diagon Alley? I’m literally dealing with post traumatic stress over here
  2. To be fair, in the 19 years since LEGO started selling Harry Potter sets, we have only ever had 1 Black student. I think 1 or 2 more students of color would be pretty new and unique for this series. And if they’re in QQS, maybe they could be in some cool new Quidditch outfits like a Holyhead Harpies or Chudley Cannons jersey.
  3. I agree. I think it’s safe to expect at least 16 minifigs. I highly doubt there will be any goblins in this set (since Gringott’s doesn’t appear to be included), but I really think the random patrons of the Leaky Cauldron will be necessary to give Diagon Alley that kooky, eccentric vibe. Doris, Daedalus, Quirrell, etc. I also think QQS is a great opportunity to get some diversity in the set with Angelina Johnson and Lee Jordan - just as you recommended.
  4. Didn’t we agree that those stickers in the upper left hand corner of sheet B were from the Prisoner of Azkaban scene in the Leaky Cauldron? I missed a few pages of conversation - was in Zoom meetings all morning.
  5. Let’s talk minifigs! How many do folks think we are getting? Who does everyone think we are going to get now that we know what shops will be included? Is there any chance we will get some more randos like Tom the Barman, Daedalus Diggle, and Doris Crockford? I’m almost looking forward to the Diagon Alley minifigs as much as the beautiful SYSTEM SCALE sets!
  6. YES! Enough is enough. I am so sick of this discussion. We are falling into his trap all over again. It happens every time. Can we all just agree to stop feeding the troll? “Youknowwho” is “LordVoldemort”. This guy made multiple fake accounts, stalked and harassed poor @RODDY, and sent creepy private messages to many of us under different guises. He’s back. Please just ignore.
  7. Yeah, that’s gonna be a no from me dawg.
  8. Someone on here had the idea that if we got a Quality Quidditch Supplies, it could include Racenclaw and Hufflepuff Quidditch robes on mannequins. I think that’s our best chance at getting anything from those two houses, though. If the shops included Madam Malkins it might be a different story.
  9. ? ? ? It’s the face I make too every time I hear “microscale”!
  10. Mother of God, not this clown again... Don’t feed the troll!
  11. Now that we have a better sense of which shops are going to be included in the Diagon Alley set, I’m eager to hear what folks think this means for the minifigs that will come with the set. Here is my updated minifig prediction list: - Harry (leaked) - Hagrid - Ron - Hermione - Ginny - Lucius Malfoy - Draco - Gilderoy Lockhart - Ollivander - Florean Fortescue (leaked) - Rita Skeeter - Tom the Barman - Daedalus Diggle - Doris Crockford - Angelina Johnson - Dean Thomas - Fred - George
  12. THIS!!! Say it louder for the people in the back of the classroom!!!
  13. And you don’t think Gringott’s is iconic on its own too? Every fifteen minutes on American television, I see an ad for Universal Studios that begins with a camera panning up to Gringott’s and it’s firebreathing dragon to the delighted squeals of dozens of little Muggles below. There are millions of kids in the US who have been to the Wizarding World and would never be able to afford a $400 LEGO set, but for whom a $100 Gringott’s would be an ultimate Christmas or birthday present. LEGO stands to make a lot more money selling these $100 sets at Walmart, Target, and everywhere in between.
  14. As I said before, I genuinely hope that I am proven wrong here. But it appears that the sticker sheets confirmed my original suspicions - we will either be getting Gringott’s or WWW in this set - not both. Either of these two sets would sell like hot cakes as a stand alone set. And can you seriously tell me with a straight face that you think the decision makers in LEGO’s business offices would opt to sell a $100 set of Xenophilius Lovegood house over a $100 set of Gringott’s? God bless, I needed a good laugh this morning.
  15. I hope you’re right and that it’s included, but my business instinct tells me it’s not. And I, for one, can come to terms with that. I’d rather have a big beautiful highly detailed Gringott’s with a dragon next year, than one that’s crammed in this year just so we can say we got it.
  16. But if you sell 10x as many $100 sets, then it doesn’t matter. And there are plenty of people, myself included, who will buy both the $400 set and the $100 set, so we will make up for the loss.
  17. And I also assume that this means you would still buy the $100 Gringott’s set that is likely to come out next year if it’s not in this set - so for LEGO, you’re ultimately not much of a loss
  18. I think the number of people who are planning to buy a LEGO D2C Diagon Alley regardless of which buildings it includes heavily outweighs the number of people who are going to opt out because it doesn’t include their favorite building. Again, I hope I’m wrong and it’s included, but as a businessman - this decision makes a lot of sense to me.
  19. I couldn’t disagree more. From the beginning, I have been saying that we will not get both WWW and Gringott’s in this set. My preference would have been for Gringott’s over WWW, but it is what it is. My reasoning has always been that, from a business perspective, LEGO stands to make a lot more money by selling hundreds of thousands of $100 Gringott’s sets that are available in stores all around the world in addition to the comparatively smaller number of $400 Diagon Alley sets it will sell exclusively in its LEGO stores. Gringott’s is arguably the most iconic building in the Wizarding World after the Hogwarts Great Hall and Grand Staircase Tower. It can absolutely stand alone as it’s own set. In fact, with all its white marble and a fire breathing dragon perched atop its copper dome, it will probably look cleaner and more striking on a bookshelf or a desk if it’s not attached to the rest of the buildings. Ultimately, the decision is about LEGO’s bottom line. They don’t care if your feelings are hurt that Gringott’s wasn’t included and that you’ll have to shell out another $100+ if you want it. It’s business, not personal. And I for one would happily pay another $100 in 2021 to get a big beautiful Gringott’s with a Ukrainian Ironbelly to complete my Diagon Alley display. It just adds value to my $400 purchase from this year. All this being said - I still hope and pray that I am wrong and that a new sticker sheet for Gringott’s magically appears today and this can be settled! Haha
  20. After today’s revelation, I think we are more likely to get a stand-alone Gringott’s with a dragon next year than we are to get another section of Hogwarts. It’s the one set that would be almost 100% guaranteed if it’s not included in Diagon Alley.
  21. Because unfortunately we have no indication of it being included based on these stickers. And it’s heavily featured in Deathly Hallows which would make it ideal for a separate release next year with that wave. It could easily be its own $100+ set if it includes the dragon.
  22. Alright, friends. I’ve calmed down from the initial excitement of this leak. Let’s be real with each other here. How many of us think that Gringott’s will still be included and how many think it will be released separately (probably with the Ukrainian Ironbelly) next year. I never thought we would get both WWW and Gringott’s, and while I would have much rather have seen Gringott’s included here than WWW I am starting to come to terms with it. Aside from some possible “bank contracts” there is no sign of our favorite Wizarding bank being included here. I would much rather it be it’s own big beautiful detailed set with a dragon than crammed in here with all these other shops. What does everyone else think?
  23. Is sticker 13 on sheet B the Hogwarts crest? I wonder what that would appear on...
  24. What do we think sticker 3 on sheet A is? Looks like the top of a desk to me with a calendar and a pen. I could be totally wrong.
  25. I don’t think so. Besides, why wouldn’t it be on sheet C with the Flourish & Blotts stickers. It’s near Scribulus and Ollivander’s on sheet A. I am almost sure it says “Gallery of something” or “Galleon for something”
