  1. I agree. I think the box art really doesn’t do this set justice. The big stretch of blue sky and clouds makes the buildings look low and squat - almost like they are supposed to be part of a weird technicolor Western film set. It would’ve been nice if the box sets gave us some forced perspective and accentuated the lean of the buildings, which is most apparent in QQS. A bit more of a gloomy sky would’ve gone better with the theme too. Not a fan of whoever the new box art designer is. They even messed up poor Neville on the CMF box!
  2. Can you share the name of the website?
  3. Wow!!! What an absolutely beautiful set. I won’t go into great detail on my thoughts because most of what I’m feeling right now has already been said. But my highlights are definitely how amazing Ollivander’s and Flourish & Blott’s turned out. Pretty disappointed by the decision to make QQS pink, though. The building is olive green in the movies and only appears pinkish in the glare of the colored lighting at the London WB Studio Tour. The designers obviously used the Studio Tour as their reference for this set and not the films. Also, maybe it’s just the good ol American in me - but does anyone else get a weird Western vibe from this set? Maybe it’s the box cover art that makes the buildings look and feel low with a lot of big open sky. I am fascinated by the mystery of the missing Harry Potter minifig and the pin holes connecting to Knockturn Alley... Could there be a surprise set in store for us? What kind of GWP build would include Harry with a sooty face?
  4. Happy Birthday! I hope (for all of our sakes) you get your birthday wish!
  5. It would be great if we got a daily leak leading up to the big reveal... Thats kind of what happened with the rest of the 2020 sets. Except for that week where all we got were different angles of a certain Gryffindor girl’s patronus, which was otterly painful
  6. I keep thinking about the leaked set description that says “pick up a love potion at Weasley Wizard Wheezes!” I think this is a pretty big clue. In HBP, Hermione and Ginny are the ones looking at the love potions, while Cormac McLaggen makes eyes at Hermione. Fred and George tease Ginny about dating Dean Thomas and then the scene cuts to Lavender Brown saying “hi” to Ron. Ultimately, it’s Romilda Vane (who we meet in Slughorn’s first potions class) who buys the love potion and tries to use it on Harry. All together, it’s: - Harry - Ron - Hermione - Ginny - Fred - George - Cormac - Dean - Lavender - Romilda I personally would not be a fan of this because they are all in Muggle clothes, but I’m just trying to follow the context clues from the set description. I could see Cormac and Dean possibly being in Quidditch gear. What do you all think the likelihood of this is?
  7. Ollivander’s and Flourish & Blott’s both have second floors that are featured in the movies. No clue about QQS or Scribbulus... These puzzle builds could give us a clue though:
  8. Has anyone in the US found the CMF Series 2 anywhere other than Target? How about Walmart or Walgreen’s?
  9. Neither. The only image we have of Barnabas Cuffe comes from the scene where Slughorn meets Harry in HBP and he’s showing Harry all his framed photos of famous former Slug Club Members. Cuffe, Slughorn says, “always takes my owl, should I wish to register an opinion on the news of the day.” Slughorn also spends quite a bit of time talking about Gwenog Jones, Captain of the Holyhead Harpies. She would be a great minifig to get with QQS and, as a Black woman, she’d bring some diversity to the minifig lineup. We already got some Holyhead Harpies gear in Ginny’s Burrow Bedroom - it would be cool to get a jersey or some robes.
  10. THIS!!! I was just thinking the same thing. God bless mini_legogo. This is the only “leaker” that has given us any solid content from the Diagon Alley set. If they had a patreon, I’d give them a little thank you gift.
  11. I thought so at first too but take another look at the minifig. It’s a green striped jacket with a tan vest. Arthur is wearing a solid green jacket here with a green striped vest. Definitely not the same costume. Also, Arthur has a proper modern bow tie on here, not an old fashioned one.
  12. My theory is that we aren’t actually getting a Daily Prophet office - just the door / facade. Scribulus gives Rita Skeeter a place to purchase her Quick Quotes Quills and all her other colorful writing implements that are mentioned in GOF.
  13. Malfoy Manor is based on Hardwick Hall, which is an iconic building in and of itself. I bet even some Architecture fans would pick this set up. My only concern is that it looks a bit too similar to the Hogwarts Bell Towers, which could be a bit confusing. I think we will probably only get one or the other. Either way, Malfoy Manor is in my top 5 most wanted HP sets that haven’t been made yet.
  14. The original 4706 Forbidden Corridor is actually a pretty small set. Only 238 pieces. By comparison, the 2018 Whomping Willow set has 753 pieces and the new Room of Requirement set has 193 pieces. I think we could definitely get a small tower and a bit of wall as a reimagined Forbidden Corridor next year if LEGO decides to do something for the 20th anniversary.
  15. Very good point. I totally forgot about the 20th Anniversary next year. A re-imagining of the 4706 Forbidden Corridor set with Fluffy would be perfect. Maybe it even comes with a vintage yellow Harry Potter on a little stand like the Star Wars anniversary sets.
  16. Thanks! I would love the Forbidden Corridor and Troll on the Loose, too, but I doubt we will get them next year. There’s also a high likelihood that Fantastic Beasts 3 will be postponed until 2022, which is why I left them out.
  17. It’s definitely not on my top 10 (not even my top 20), but I think @Tommy269 ‘s point is more that it’s an iconic / climatic scene from the movie that we haven’t seen in LEGO form.
  18. That’s a really good point. Also, in re-reading my list I realize I kind of threw my “sell it to girls” theory out the window. I guess this is part prediction / part wish list. Maybe instead of the Chamber we will get the Wedding Party, but I would be heartbroken. I feel like 2021 is definitely our year to get the Durmstrang ship though... We even have a little wink to it in the Advent Calendar this year with the little Durmstrang Ship “toy” build.
  19. Do we have a Harry Potter 2021 - Rumors & Discussion room set up yet or are we waiting to start that after Diagon Alley has been revealed? Now that most of us have had our hands on the 2020 sets and we know what will and won’t be included in the D2C Diagon Alley, my mind is swimming with ideas for what this next wave could include. My current predictions are: - Escape from Gringott’s - $120 full facade of Gringott’s to scale with the D2C Diagon Alley featuring a bank vault on the ground floor and a two story bank hall with a giant chandelier and rows of goblin bankers. Comes with a Ukrainian Ironbelly dragon. - the Durmstrang Ship - $99 ship build and a smaller build of the second task platform with plenty of mermaids and Grindylows - Malfoy Manor - $80 facade of manor with long dining room table / entry hall and dungeon - Battle of Hogwarts - $60 set focused on the Viaduct Bridge with knights of Hogwarts, golden trio, Voldy, death eaters, and a Giant - Chamber of Secrets - $40 set in the style of the Whomping Willow set or the RoR set featuring the Slytherin dorms, the Head of Salazar Slytherin statue, and a basilisk build - Forest of Glen - $20 set with the trio and their magic tent, some tree builds, a doe Patronus, and the sword of Gryffindor - Advent Calendar - $40 with a theme of Christmas at the Burrow - variants of the Weasleys and friends - Quidditch Player Minifig Pack - $15
  20. I hope you’re right. The last couple big Hogwarts sets have been focused on dances and fancy dress parties though - not big battle scenes. This fits with the theory that LEGO is targeting more girls with this series. I can more easily see us getting a Fleur & Bill wedding party tent set, for example. Or even a big beautiful Grimmauld Place where the focus can be the Christmas party. Smaller Hogwarts sets that incorporate colorfully decorated house dorms along within an action / adventure element seem more likely than a big $100 set focused on a battle. Like I said, I hope I’m wrong because I’d love to see a massive Battle of Hogwarts set centered around the Bell Towers where Harry and Voldy have part of their in-flight battle in the belfries. I guess we’ll have to wait and see...
  21. It connects perfectly to the greenhouse of the Astronomy Tower set. I can see us getting a few similar sized sets (low and horizontal) that will also connect to it, eventually forming a “back wall” for the Hogwarts castle display. Personally, I would love to get a Chamber of Secrets w/ a proper Basilisk in this format (or similar to the Whomping Willow set’s format) that can connect to the Room of Requirement. Maybe a Girl’s Bathroom w/ a Mountain Troll too. It would be neat if they could make them two stories, to include the Slytherin and Hufflepuff dorms we are missing. I don’t know whether or not we will get another big Hogwarts castle segment. Originally, I thought we’d get the Bell Towers, but for some reason I’m starting to doubt that. I think Gringott’s will be the big $100+ set next year and maybe the Ministry of Magic or Malfoy Manor will be our secondary big set.
  22. Sorry for the confusion - I saw it on this post which quoted the LEGO Japan website set description leak and thought it was from LEGO. Looks like it might just be from Brickfinder though.
  23. On my last trip to Universal’s Wizarding World (October 2019), I didn’t see any LEGO sets. I did, however, see some park-exclusive Nanoblocks () sets. Hogwarts, Hagrid’s Hut, etc. That was before the Universal / LEGO deal that was signed in April 2020 though. It’s also interesting to note that the D2C Diagon Alley teaser on the LEGO Japan website uses the glamour shot of Universal’s Wizarding World Diagon Alley as its background.
  24. Walmart has them too? Maybe we should be checking Walmart for the CMF series! I’m going to stop by my local Walgreens too. They always have a great selection of LEGO Harry Potter.
  25. Face masks are required, but for some reason once people walk through the front door they feel free to wear their masks as chin straps, which completely defeats the purpose. My final Target run proved to be the most disappointing. Only one ROR set was left and no CMF. I’m very grateful that I was able to snag the Burrow at my first stop today! It was the only set I wasn’t able to order from Europe back in June. Looking forward to building it this weekend. Have any other Americans here found the CMF item number at their Targets? Once we have the item number, we can ask employees to check back rooms and other locations.
