Three Harry Potter themed GWPs within the span of a few months? Have any of the other licensed themes had anything similar? -

We now know what the GWPs will be: Hagrid and Buckbeak Brickheadz for $100+ LEGO Harry Potter purchases, and the Owl Delivery bagged set for $40+ in-store purchases. So where is our lost little Harry minifig in his Year 1 Muggle clothes from??? What does everyone think? Could we be getting a small Leaky Cauldron build with the brick wall that is so heavily featured in all the promo materials? Is Gringott’s being released this year? Or Borgin and Burke’s? Maybe a set with Madam Malkin’s (featuring Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff robes) and Eylops Owl Emporium? There are so many possible sets this little minifig could be from. This is the biggest mystery of the year for me... We were not anticipating another set! Is the HP-4 $30 code and price point a clue? I have so many Questions... Questions that need answering! -

I called my LEGO store and spoke with the manager. She was very helpful. She said the D2C Diagon Alley set will be available for sale in LEGO stores next Tuesday, September 1st - Back to Hogwarts Day. Unfortunately, they are only getting one case with four sets. Knowing how busy the LEGO in my local mall gets, I imagine it will be nearly impossible to snag one even if I get there early and wait. Several other new products are also releasing next Tuesday, so it will be busier than normal. The manager said she believes the sets will be made available online the night before they release in stores, so it sounds like that’s my best bet. I’m so freaking excited for this set... The new photos are absolutely amazing. Can’t wait to get through the bricks and start building! Also, do we have any word on our lost little Harry minifig? What set is he from? -

And these Allosaurus and Nasutoceratops designs from Battle at Big Rock! I need them all! I seriously hope the Jurassic World LEGO designers are paying attention. -

@lucca2951 has outdone himself with these new concept designs. I would love to eventually get a Brachiosaurus but I think he’s right in predicting we are more likely to get the Apatosaurus from the Jurassic World movies first. The Spinosaurs design he just made is out of this world, too. I would prefer a new scientifically accurate Spinosaurus (which I hope will be featured in Jurassic World Dominion) but this throwback model from Jurassic Park III is so badass. -

I can confirm that both Bellatrix hair pieces - the one in the Burrow and the one in the CMF are hard plastic. There’s a bit of give at the ends, just because it’s so long, but it’s not at all squishy. The Myrtle hair is like hard rubber. It’s not as squishy as Dorothy’s hair from the Lego Movie 2 CMF. -

No wand, two keys It’s a bit squishy but not as bad as Dorothys hair. Not as firm as Bellatrix though -

Merlin’s beard! Somehow I managed to get them all! And a couple extra Griphooks, too. Here’s the full set. The best figs in my opinion are Dumbledore, Kingsley, Griphook, Myrtle, and the new Harry. The new butterbeers and the Monster Book of Monsters are also adorable. That being said, there really isn’t a bad minifig in this collection. The attention to detail is absolutely unreal. You have to see them up close to really appreciate them. The new Harry, for example. I was expecting this to be a meh minifig but in person it’s probably my favorite. The detailing on his jeans was a surprise - they even have stitching down the sides and a tiny belt! And the beauty of the Half Blood Prince’s copy of Advanced Potions cannot be overstated. The printed colors on the cover are perfect and the printed tile with the sectumsempra spell is such a fun touch. Moaning Myrtle too is just... *chefs kiss*. Happy hunting for these in the wild! -

Haha nice! It really is a great bookshelf for these displays. You can also prop up a mirror behind it too so you can see all of the interiors. -

Nice! Very happy to hear! I promise, you won’t be disappointed. It’s a great piece of furniture. Can’t wait to see pics when you get everything all set up. Happy building! This is absolutely brilliant. From your mouth to the LEGO gods ears! -

I use this bookcase from Target to display my Hogwarts sets and I just ordered another one for Diagon Alley and Gringott’s. The bookcase is nearly 54 inches long, which is perfect for a linear display of the collections. I also have several of their taller bookcases in this style. They’re the perfect depth for using small LEGO sets as bookends. https://www.target.com/p/32-carson-horizontal-bookcase-with-adjustable-shelves-threshold-153/-/A-14546221 -

I think it’s a testament to the passion and excitement that Harry Potter fans have for this renewed LEGO series. And LEGO is doing right by us! I think it was @dvt who predicted that the Wizarding World would eventually overtake the popularity of Star Wars in a generation or two because kids parents will have grown up as mega fans of Harry Potter. I think we’re already heading in that direction! -

Welcome! I think a bit of disappointment is inevitable when we have been building this set up (for 500+ pages ) and each of us probably developed an idea of what we thought the D2C Diagon Alley would (or should) look like. I’m with you, though - I am overwhelmingly happy with what LEGO has done here. I think the attention to detail is unparalleled for a licensed set. I can’t wait to see the official high res images and watch the design interview with Marcos. The only real disappointment for me is the minifig selection. I would’ve preferred Arthur in his fun, weird little hat to Molly in what looks like black mourning garb. Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Draco should’ve come with those iconic little black capes they wear in COS. And LEGO could have given us another random witch or wizard (I’m actually heartbroken that we aren’t getting Doris Crockford and Daedalus Diggle). But it’s clear to me that this is the beginning of a bigger modular display, so more minifigs to come. We’re almost guaranteed to get Gringott’s and Borgin and Burke’s as separate sets. Maybe even the Leaky Cauldron. And I can see us getting more two-shop sets to continue adding on to this. It’s an exciting time to be a LEGO Harry Potter fan! -

Did anyone else notice that there is another set of technic pin holes on the back of Florean Fortescue’s ice cream shop? I wonder what they could be for... -

Does anyone have any more info about the HP-4 coded set that was mentioned? @Guyon2002 said it was quoted at $30. Do we have any other details on it? I’m curious what folks think it could be. I originally thought it would be Borgin and Burke’s, but for only $30 I can’t imagine anything else that would include that Harry torso. Maybe just the moving brick wall at the back of Diagon Alley and a tiny bit of the Leaky Cauldron? -

Can we please steer clear of this line of conversation? Your characterization of people bitching about the human rights of trans people is really problematic and I don’t want the mods to step and shut down the forum on such an important day. -

I agree - I didn’t know we had a price attached to HP-4. Maybe it was meant to be 30 British pounds which would be closer to $40 something? (Grasping at straws here) -

My guess is that the minifig is from the unknown set with the HP-4 code that was recently found. I have a strong feeling we will be getting Borgin and Burke’s. There are technic connectors behind Knockturn Alley and even though the minifig’s outfit is from PS I think they just wanted the trio to match in the D2C Diagon Alley set. It would fit perfectly with the Burrow’s floo powder fireplace, plus it works well with the HBP theme of the year since it’s an important setting in that film. -

I’m going to go out on a limb here and say it: I think we are getting another set. Wasn’t an HP - 4 code already found? I think all signs are pointing to us getting Borgin and Burke’s this year. It would explain the missing Harry minifig and the technical holes behind Knockturn Alley. And it would tie in perfectly to the Burrow’s floo powder fireplace. Am I crazy? I would be so stoked for a surprise Borgin and Burke’s!
