  1. This sounds fun and I like the size constraint. I would like some clarification on the word "house". Sounds like the smaller vehicle must be hidden. So something like the pods that detach from the original Blacktron Renegade wouldn't qualify I presume?
  2. Really? What play value would a police person provide in the Friends theme? Are there criminals in Friends? I wouldn't see them having much to do, other than directing traffic.
  3. Interesting. They're still making trans orange, trans pink, and trans neon green parts. I wonder what makes trans neon orange so difficult. Maybe they just haven't figured it out yet? Or maybe it's just corporate BS? Seems like the new transparent plastic is objectively worse. More prone to scratching and supports less colors.
  4. I want to see an revamped Ice Planet figure. With trans neon orange chain saw (possibly new mould), and skis, and whatever else they want to surprise me with. I know they supposedly "retired" trans neon orange, but they should be punished for that by having to bring it back immediately just for this.
  5. I saw those pics and totally missed that. I thought it was trans clear or trans black with red bricks behind it. You must be right though. I think I can just barely make out the trans red now...
  6. I heard someone joke that Brown space people are delivery people. Because of UPS. I guess that's a double joke since they could also be "delivering" babies.
  7. I believe that is trans bright green. Not a bad color, but different from the regular trans green used in Classic Space sets.
  8. Nah. Don't read too much into a temporary sale. It was on sale for $50 for less than a day. We don't know why. Also Walmart put the set on sale (for $75) almost immediately after it came out. They would have no way to know if the set would be a seller or not at that point. I think they basically chose to make the set a promotional item or something. I haven't seen it on sale anywhere else. Also, it's Walmart. They sell many sets cheaper than other stores, and I imagine they got a special deal on these from Lego. I see Lego sets on sale all the time, even sets from popular licenses. I think people like to jump to conclusions about why, when it's really just a sale. Stores have sales. People say the same thing about themes that end after a planned amount of time. "It must have not sold well!" No...the theme ended when it was planned to end.
  9. Black Friday sale? Loss leader? I've only seen these deals at Walmart, nowhere else. I have 5, but I've opened 3 to build all the variants. But for $50, I kinda want to buy more...I could always give them away to Toys for Tots or something.
  10. I think the Black Falcon archer and her actual falcon both look great now that we have the larger pics. The Space print depicts a sleeping space baby. That's of somewhat limited use, but it's still neat I guess.
  11. I'm hoping the face on the screen is Mom/Dad and not the baby with big baby eyes. Then it will be generally useful. Like a small print version of this old Idea Book sticker: Actually the little stars in the background of the print make it look like it was in fact designed after the above sticker...
  12. BWA HA HA! That little space baby is cracking me up! I love it. The buck teeth on that newspaper boy are making me giggle as well. The printed tile on the Space minifig's radio is amazing. Gundam Fett is growing on me. I choose to believe the designer originally had the skates on the feet, and someone above them said that was too out there, so they put them on the gun. Because damn it, I want a space warrior with pink roller skates! Black Falcon woman looks good. New bird mold?
  13. Darn. I was hoping the leaker didn't have the instructions and was just guessing. Rest assured though, if I get that Space Warrior CMF, those skates are going directly onto the feet!
  14. I wonder if those are intended to be worn as actual skates, and the third skate is just an extra. A space warrior on roller skates would be so ridiculous that I'd have to buy a few.
  15. There are going to be so many funny MOCs built around them! Space nursery ships, baby mechs, space hover strollers, you name it!
  16. Super duper stoked for the Brown Space man and Black Falcon archeress! Orc is probably a must buy as well. The Space Warrior looks weird! Wait does that Space Warrior come with pink roller skates or am I crazy?
  17. I somehow missed this post earlier. This is just gorgeous. So clean, and with pretty colors. I wish Lego would make sets like this.
  18. Really cool new red windscreen from Monkie Kid (new in trans red at least). And from the Chinese festival set, parts to complete your purple Classic Space minifig.
  19. This thread has me stressing about melted and/or stolen Lego. 😱
  20. HOLY @#$%! Awesome! I wonder if the black air tank in 10497 was a hint! Er...and the Blacktron radar thing as an obvious hint of course.
  21. Well, I mean they were fine enough with yellow meaning white people for the first three years of Star Wars sets, and then fine with yellow meaning white but not black for another year. But yes, they obviously saw that it didn't really work. It's possible that they were transitioning to fleshie white people in 2003, since they had already started to make them in the Sports sets in 2003. My main point is that they were forced to admit that yellow minifigs don't really work at representing everyone. But they were fine ignoring the issue while they could.
  22. If Lego truly thought yellow minfigs really represented "everyone", they wouldn't need the different flesh tones in licensed sets. They actually released 4 years of Star Wars sets where all the human minifigs were yellow. Funnily enough, when they finally made Lando Calrissian in 2003, he was released as a brown minifig in the same set as yellow Luke, Han, and Leia. So Lego was totally fine with yellow = white people and special colors for everyone else. So the whole "yellow is neutral" was never true, it's just sort of a ret-con. I honestly don't think Lego really thought about non-white people that much before 2003.

  24. Oh dang! I meant to post to the Inspiring MOCs thread. Er, sorry all.
