Oh wow, this is fantastic! The exterior is really well done, as is the interior. I would perhaps hollow out the four holes on the mandibles by a couple of tiles and add some greebling like in the set, but other than that, it looks perfect! Is there still an access ramp, and has the landing gear been changed?

I didn't even realise the spider symbol was wrong on the Civil War minifigure. I guess they could do what they did with Vision though and have an otherwise identical minifigure but with that one mistake rectified. I wonder if they will finally give Cap dual-moulded legs in one of these sets? At this point, I don't really see what's stopping them. Same with comic/cartoon Spidey, though he had them in the Sandman Battle (but oddly enough, not again since). On another note, I hope that the Mighty Micros Iron Man helmet appears in the Lola/Detroit Steel set, though of course with a different print. I don't have an issue with the current Iron Man helmet, it's just nice to get something new after seeing the same one so many times.

Do we know if we are getting a set/sets for Spider-Man Homecoming? It would be a real shame if that Spidey minifigure from the fourth Civil War set stayed exclusive to that (don't get me wrong, it's not a bad set, I just think the minifigure is too good to remain exclusive).

Something funny I've noticed: Boba has been in one set ever year for 2015, 2016, and 2017. Considering there are only so many sets you could possibly include him in (due to his limited appearance in the OT), the consecutive years of his appearances in LEGO form is kind of interesting considering he's not really a 'main' character. I wonder if they will give him printed arms in the Desert Skiff. I think the absence of printing on his arms in the Carbon Freezing Chamber is more to do with the size of the set. That was $20, this is $40, so I could see them maybe thrusting the UCS Slave 1 variant in since it's not really a 'cheap' set like the Chamber was. Also, I'm not bothered by another Landspeeder. It will be nice to get an updated Tatooine Luke without cheek bones and the newer version of Ben in a cheaper set, as well as another Tusken. Yoda's Interceptor has me interested, though I hope they use the 2013 version of him and not the CW version.

Marvel Superheroes 2016 Rumors And Discussion

Finally got around to ordering the Tanker Truck Takedown. The Spidey minifigure just looks too good to pass up, and the build looks decent even if I'm not that interested in it. A new Hawkeye is nice as well, since I only have the 2012 version. -
The UCS Hype. What will 2017 bring? (40th Anniversary)
Willsy replied to Major_Ton's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Considering how much the updated Death Star costs with 200 more pieces than the original, I think we can count an updated UCS Falcon out. Maybe they could make a smaller version that is still larger and more detailed than the TFA version, but no way they will go above the Death Star's $500 price tag (which I believe is equal to the UCS Falcon?). I think a new UCS Star Destroyer is a possibility though. -
The UCS Hype. What will 2017 bring? (40th Anniversary)
Willsy replied to Major_Ton's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I just noticed something. In 2015, we got the Slave 1 and the Tie Fighter, both of which are UCS vehicles. This year (2016) we got Assault on Hoth and the Death Star, both location-based playsets. Maybe I'm overthinking it, but maybe this means we will see two D2C vehicle-based sets next year? The Snowspeeder is a lock, and with us getting two newly released location-based sets I can't see us getting another playset for a couple of years at least. Then again, vehicle-based D2C sets are far more common than location-based ones when it comes to Star Wars. Personally, I would like a UCS AT-AT or a new Tantive IV (closer to the scale of the original) though I could see TLG updating the 2009 version of the later and releasing it as part of a normal wave. -

Are the Tanker Truck Showdown and Dr Strange sets available in Lego Stores in Europe? -
I'm personally happy that they are keeping the design the same. In my opinion, 10188 was one of the best Star Wars sets ever made, and it stayed around for an incredibly long time. I honestly do not think they could have topped it aside from maybe adding exterior panels (which would drive the cost up even more). I think TLG wanted to keep 10188 on shelves but since it went by a pricing convention that may not be profitable in today's climate (bear in mind 10188 will be 8 years old when the new one is introduced) and includes outdated parts/prints that are no longer in production elsewhere, they decided to give it an update. As an owner of 10188 I'm glad TLG are keeping it around, it took me four years after it released for me to get it and it really is an outstanding piece, even if it is a playset first and foremost. I won't buy this new one, but I'm glad the set is sticking around.

Do we know if the TIE window used in the Emperor's throne room has been swapped out for the new piece used in the newer TIE Fighters and the DS Final Duel? I can't recall any set currently in production aside from 10188 that has this, and I can't see them keeping it in production for this when they can just use the new version.

I would let your son keep it and let him know that it's a very rare set. I'm sure it would make him extra happy to know that, on top of it being a huge set and the best Falcon TLG have put out to date. :) Maybe later on if/when he grows out of Lego he could sell it, or maybe you could immediately after building it. Since you bought it for your son though, I would let him choose what he wants. Maybe say he could buy the smaller (but still good) TFA Falcon from last year and many other sets too.

[MOD] 75102 X-wing S-foil, rubber band, and landing gear fix
Willsy replied to Flandy's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I just got 75149 today, and decided to modify it during the build (it's a lot easier than tearing it apart and having to put it all back together again!). I've mainly used Flandy's mods which is why I'm not cresting a new thread for this, but I have come up with some of my own changes. I was able to squeeze in some rear landing gear on to the bottom engine pods but they do stick out. I'm happy with them though. The ship can now also facilitate an astromech droid other than BB-8. There are two 2x1 sections which expands the 2x2 gap into a 2x4 one. This is why there are a steeper wedge plate inclines behind the cockpit, to form 'walls' for when a droid other than BB-8 is in use. The droid rides a tad bit high but the only way I could fix that is to replace the 1x4 modified bricks with 1x2 modified bricks but I'm not sure the SNOT fixtures would be sturdy enough without it, and BB-8 would have to ride a bit too low. There's probably something I can do but I'm satisfied with it for now. Huge thanks to Flandy for his mods though. :) I really like both sets but the wings were majorly distracting. Problem solved now! -
Just ordered the Resistance X-Wing today since Amazon had it on discount. Already own Poe's so I'm looking forward to pairing the two.

[MOD] 75102 X-wing S-foil, rubber band, and landing gear fix
Willsy replied to Flandy's topic in LEGO Star Wars
This is an incredible mod, I just integrated it into Poe's X-Wing and plan on integrating it into the Resistance X-Wing when I hopefully get it this week. It was difficult to get the rubber bands behind the blue technic pin but it works flawlessly. Thanks for sharing. :) -

Do we know the price for the Airport Tanker in Euros yet? Seeing as it's $30, would €36 be a close guess? I definitely want it for Spidey, he's probably my favourite looking minifigure this year. -
Interested in Sonic (he looks amazing!), Harry Potter, and Fantastic Beasts. Maaaaybe Gizmo as well.

Lego Fantastic Beasts 2016 Rumors & Discussion
Willsy replied to Bricky Dee Williams's topic in LEGO Licensed
Wasn't there something in the other discussion thread about TLG wanting to test the demand for full Fantastic Beasts sets with Dimensions packs, or was I misunderstanding something there? Personally, I think it would be nice to see, especially if they remade some Potter sets as well (I would personally love a new Burrow, I had the original but unfortunately it was dismantled during a move and I was never able to rebuild it).- 11 replies

I got the Resistance Troop Transport the other week and I have to say, in my opinion it is the best winter wave set of this year and maybe even the best Force Awakens set so far. Everything about it just feels so well designed, the build was fun and I never found it boring or repetitvive. The minifigures are good, Leia and Ackbar look great and the Resistance troopers are nice too (I'll have to pick up the BP so I have more troops to transport). Also, you can easily remove the cockpit and gun sections and put them together to create a new ship which looks quite nice (I don't think this is an intended feature though). My only complaint are the canopy stickers, they were very difficult to apply correctly, but overall a great set in my opinion. I would like to get the Resistance X-Wing to accompany the transport and Poe's Black Leader X-Wing, but money's tight at the moment so Chrismtas looks likely.

I think the Combat Frigate looks good for the size and price. 900+ pieces for $90 (?) is also a good price per piece ratio for a Star Wars set, and the Ahsoka and Sato minifigures are well done (though Ahsoka's grey arms look slightly off). This is definitely in my to-buy list.

The Tanker Truck Showdown is a must buy for me, that Spidey minifigure is incredible! The tanker doesn't look bad either. -
What are the chances that the Death Star Final Duel will be on offer on May 4th? I've been looking to get it on discount, and I would like to get the FO Stormy Officer.

Very clever idea for limited storage space! Sadly I don't think I would have the heart to pull apart full sets to attempt something like this if I'm not sure whether or not I could execute it properly. Great work though, and I wouldn't worry about having multiple floors, it's Lego, you're allowed to take creative liberties when doing something like this. ;)

Spent a couple of hours just running around the Ninjago and Lego Movie hubs in Emmet's mech. I absolutely recommend trying to get ahold of a character with a mech if you do not already own one, they are great for smashing objects and picking up large amounts of studs quickly. I would like to get more Ninjago packs soon (I currently only have Jay), maybe the Kai and Cole Team Pack, Lloyd, or Nya.

This thread has actually helped me a lot since I got my Falcon last month. I've closed the gaps on the 'pizza slices', upgraded the top of the gunning section (using mickeywrx's solution), and made the landing gear somewhat retractable by only using one technic pin for each leg (though I am thinking about overhauling the gear entirely). I may post pictures eventually, though I'm not sure what mine can really add given that I've used a quite a few solutions made by other members.
