  1. So the Gold Rush short has actually made me come around on the X-1 Ninja Charger. I think I will pick it up at some point, especially as I want to get all of the golden ninja. I think I'll try and get Kai on his own, however, since I'm not all that interested in the Boulder Blaster.
  2. No pre-orders in the UK either yet sadly.
  3. Just saw the episode, and the shuttle is indeed sand blue (or at least close enough that it can be interpreted as sand blue). I think the set captures the source material pretty well.
  4. The Fire Dragon is easily my favourite of the wave, and i think possibly one of the best dragons they've made. Looks absolutely fantastic. Water Dragon and Temple of the Endless Sea look great too. Ultra Sonic Raider looks terrible IMO, a bit like it's been caught in a car compactor. Perhaps it will grow on me but right now it's an easy skip.
  5. Got R2 and the May 4th promos from the Cardiff Lego store today. It was my first May 4th event, and I had a great time! Got chatting with some fellow AFOLs in the queue in the hour leading up to opening, all in all was a really nice experience.
  6. I've decided that I may get Zane's Titan Mech after all, although I recently bought Lloyd's Titan Mech. I think I'm just a sucker for Ninjago mechs (That and if I can get double VIP points on R2-D2 for May 4th I can probably knock £20 off the price.)
  7. I wonder if this supposed budget cut may be a result of The Lego Ninjago Movie not performing to expectations? Sure we did get SoG and Hunted after that but they would have already been in the works a year or two prior to the movie's release. The theme and show were essentially rebooted just over a year after the movie released, so that timeline would work out. I'm also curious if Legacy is eating into the theme's (and therefore the show's) budget.
  8. See you there! (At a safe distance of course! )
  9. Can anyone in the UK speak from experience as to what picking up the May 4th D2C set from a Lego Store is like on release day? I'm planning on trekking to the Cardiff store next Saturday morning for opening to get R2 (mainly to get out of the house), but I'm a bit anxious about potential crowds and stock shortages.
  10. I quite like the look of the BB Shuttle, while the sand blue isn't accurate strictly speaking, we get so many grey vehicles already that it's actually somewhat refreshing. Looking forward to higher resolution images, but so far I'm on board with this one.
  11. R2 may be my favourite set of 2021 so far, he really does look fantastic. I think I'll even brave my local Lego Store for him next weekend!
  12. R2 looks great, but it looks like the base of his dome has a slightly wider diameter than his body? Hoping that's just some weirdness from lower quality photos combined with his head being slightly rotated.
  13. I too would like a more 'standard' season next year. While there are certainly some good sets to have come out of, say, Prime Empire, that wave didn't really grab me and the sets felt very situational? (I feel the same way about Secrets of the Deep currently.)
  14. So I could be completely off the mark on this, but going by the two week reveal-to-release timeframe for Ideas Winnie the Pooh, I think we can probably expect R2-D2 to be revealed on or around April 20th. I believe that lines up with the reveal date for the A-Wing last year too?
  15. Issue 44 of the Ninjago magazine has just released in the UK with the Skull Sorcerer minifig, just picked it up from my local Sainsburys. I'm really impressed with how they are putting minifigures from more expensive sets into £4 magazines! (Next issue seems to be Island Jay!)
  16. That could potentially be the case, but we'll see I suppose, prelims do tend to have placeholders! It's not unprecedented for 4+ sets to include exclusive figures, but I agree it would make more sense if the Legacy 1 variants were included in that set. That being said, maybe the Fire Dragon would also include Legacy 3 variants. It wouldn't be accurate, but I suppose the argument of Legacy 2 variants being mostly ToE-based yet appearing in Rebooted-based sets could be brought up.
  17. I think I'll go with the Zane one at some point then, seems like it's a more refined build all around. And I believe Zane is in the prelims for the the 4+ Bounty so that could be the Possession version of him.
  18. My local Smyths still has Lloyd's Titan Mech in stock somehow, and for £50. I definitely want one of the Titan mechs, but I'm not sure which would be better; Lloyd's or Zane's. I'm aware that Zane's actually has knee articulation but I think I prefer the colour scheme of Lloyd's one (and the minifigure selection)?
  19. I actually managed to get the Monastery from eBay the other day and I'm shocked that I slept on it while it was officially available. I always really wanted it but never got around to it until now. I've actually put it on a rocky base including ground for the courtyard, and it looks fantastic. I would love a Fire Temple remake but given Flame is getting a set in the summer I doubt it will happen...
  20. I've been trying to catch up with the show and finished Season 11 last night. Fire Chapter was mediocre but inoffensive, but I rather enjoyed the Ice Chapter despite some flaws. If this is indeed the low point of the new seasons I'm not terribly worried about what's to come, I've heard Prime Empire is okay and good things about Master of the Mountain.
  21. Legacy one, not the original. I did used to own that one though.
  22. I just got the Overlord Dragon and the 2019 Golden Dragon today, after entering something of a Ninjago kick after being dormant on the theme for a few years. Overlord is great and surprisingly big for a relatively cheap dragon, the head mould looks perfect to what I remember from Season 2. The wings are definitely disappointing though, I really feel they could have done vinyl pieces here if they could manage it in Wu's dragon from last year. Also, the lack of golden head for Lloyd, while arguably more show accurate, is in my opinion a downgrade. And while this isn't strictly 2021 related, the Golden Dragon is really nice too and doesn't really lose anything in being scaled down from the 2013 version. The Overlord variant is excellent despite not really being accurate to anything in the show, and while the new one is nice, I prefer the former. (I actually bought it from Amazon UK Warehouse for £16 understanding that it was a used set in very good condition, yet what turned up was actually brand new and sealed just with a squished box which was a very nice surprise!) Overall the Legacy sets have been a wonderful reintroduction to the theme so far. I'm getting the Bounty soon too, both of which looks .
  23. Picked up the Tauntaun vs AT-AT from Amazon last night. Mostly got it for Luke but the Tauntaun seems like a cute build even if I have owned the moulded one before.
  24. The engine intakes are so simple yet effective, I'll be doing that when I receive mine. I'm also brainstorming ways to lessen the gap between the wings, and to make them less wobbly. I think I have a solution but I need the set in-hand first to test it.
  25. So I found this stand on eBay and I was wondering if anyone else has it and if so what their impressions are on it? I'm a bit concerned that it only wraps around the landing gear holes on one side.
