  1. I was just pointing out why people feel loyalty to LEGO, aside from just the sets that they offer. Definitely! A nice 3-in-1 with options for a rover, a ship, and a mech or base would be amazing!
  2. I always love getting lots of Minifigs, but I think that realistically only one more could have been added before the set starts to look cluttered. That said, a repeat of this guy but with the female warrior’s legs would have been doable without exceeding the change budget for the set. Speaking of, there are a lot of new parts (prints, recolours) in this set - I wonder if they are going to reappear in the Medieval goat village? Maybe the set’s story will be something like the Mill Village Raid, but with Vikings instead of Dragon Knights? 🤔
  3. We could still get this next year, as it seems like an obvious choice for a set! Maybe it could include some HK droids and the humanoid soldiers that the villains are using (first seen in Manod S2). Just as an aside, I like that both Shin and Marrok are using the same type of fighter, since it means that we can get two of 75364 and have no extras aside from the Minifigs.
  4. It looks like Zane’s Core dragon is sticking around. Arin actually gets his ninja suit from the sets (I was beginning to worry that his outfit was just based on concept art!). The Temple of the Dragon Cores appears! Also, it seems to look like the set! Merlopian assassin? Both Sora and Nya are fighting the same/same type of skull-mask wraith - Maybe spirits from the Departed Realm? The look like less ghostly ghosts. 🤔 Djinn!!! Someone who was trapped in another realm pre-Merge, or is Djinjago still around in some form? It looks like the Source Dragon from the S1a finale is back, and maybe released from Imperium? Curious to see how that plays out! I seriously doubt this, since the entire point of the Dragons Rising reboot was to ensure that all sets tie into the story (I.E. no Core-type waves)!
  5. This is honestly why I think that we have not gotten Space since 2013 - Sci-fi elements have seeped into all other in-house themes, so a true Space theme would have difficulty setting itself apart from the other colourful sci-fi swooshables and mechs that are on shelves.
  6. This is supposedly a GWP or other promotion, not a regular set.
  7. Ice Planet is extremely popular; we may be talking about it less because LEGO retired trans-neon orange, which is an iconic part of the IP2002 colour-scheme.
  8. Two new torsos, four new printed legs, two new heads, a recoloured hairpiece, two different printed shields, and possibly the classic Viking helmet recoloured in PDG, is lame?? This looks brilliant, and the Minifigs are vastly better than I was expecting! It looks like Moon Knight’s blades are being used as horn decorations on the main building, which is clever, but I am surprised that the part is not IP-locked (happy that it is not, though). Nevermind; they are just gold hotdogs. 🫤 Also, it looks like the set has no stickers! @danth
  9. I have no information - My point was that LEGO is not reusing parts from a set that did not sell well.
  10. So a direct part-for-part remake of an old Space set released as part of a different theme would not be a Space set? What about a set from a non-space theme being released in a Space theme? Does it come down to box art, then? If the box does not have a starfield or alien planet background, then it is not a space set? What of the 2010 SPIII line, which shows the sets inside a futuristic domed city; it is not on Earth (which is visible in the background), but City space sets have backdrops in Earth’s orbit and they do not count as Space.
  11. I cannot wait! Also, the last one is “Pyramid of Anut”. 🙂 I did not think that you would - I look forward to seeing his design! Also, are you including characters from the Jungle and Dino Island waves, or just Desert? I can see Alexia Sinister fitting in quite well, for example.
  12. And neither is the Moments Space set, or the Blacktron Cruiser GWP, or the multiple Space GWPs in 2024, or, or. . . IMO, there is no rule that states that LEGO cannot make Star Wars and in-house Space sets at the same time, but it is probably mutually beneficial for LEGO and Disney to not have sets on shelves that are overly similar (lest they cannibalise sales). It is weird - Space hoverbike polybag, space mech set, space rover with aliens set, etc! It is a very good kind of weird, though; I will absolutely take new space sets, even under the City label! I also think that this increases our chances of getting a true Space theme in the next few years, since LEGO obviously thinks that there is interest in sci-fi space content. Not yet - My point was that the concept is not that farfetched, and that it just seems that City is moving in the direction of the near future. Realistically, a hoverbike might actually work on Mars, since the lower gravity could make carrying a larger and more powerful battery more feasible (though I am not sure how much this would be offset by the thinness of the Martian atmosphere). 🤔 It certainly makes enough sense for a LEGO set, however!
  13. So what would you make of a direct rerelease of the Mega Core Magnetizer, but as a Monkie Kid mobile base located on Earth (with MK Minifigs instead of M;Tron astronauts)? Would this “Monkey Core Magnetizer” be a Space set or not? Similarly, if 80020 were called the “Zeta Pulse Interceptor” and included “Green-Tron” astronaut Minifigs, would it be a Space set? My point exactly!
  14. Mini 6073 possible GWP posted by @Falconfan1414 on IG. Cute, but it just looks like a tablescrap build with the extra parts from the Lion Knights’ Castle. The two types of printed statuettes/nanofigs are nice; it looks like a Black Falcon and a Forestman. Unfortunately no white pennant flags, which are still only available in the old version. 🫤
  15. Ah, thanks! 👍
  16. I somehow completely forgot the flag! Also, it brought back red epaulettes - Which other parts got recoloured? I am not making an argument either way Re: the budget for these sets, BTW - I am just speculating.
  17. OK, what do you consider to be a spaceship? I am honestly asking, because classic Space themes had such a wide variety of ship designs and colour-schemes. So you do not consider Alien Conquest to be a Space theme? Also, how do you consider the 2024 City space sets, given that they are going to feature things like mechs and aliens?
  18. Are should seriously not seeing how sci-fi these sets are? Just imagine them with spaceman pilots and a starfield backdrop! What, then, constitutes a space set/model for you? I am asking, because Mars Mission Minifigs had printed (not moulded) airtanks, some SPIII Minifigs did not have airtanks, none of the Galaxy Squad ones did, and Alien Conquest is considered by most (by you, also?) to be a Space theme despite it taking place entirely on Earth!
  19. City has been pushing into the near future lately (electric cars are now ubiquitous, for instance), so adding a bit of cyberpunk-esque flair fits, IMO. Also, hoverbikes exist IRL.
  20. Additionally, even if someone dislikes all of LEGO’s current set offerings, the overall quality, variety, availability, building-techniques, and decades-long consistent system of LEGO pieces far exceeds anything that competitors offer!
  21. Galaxy Explorer had eight new prints (nine, counting the CS Red torso) and a recoloured helmet (plus CS White pieces were revived after being out of production); Eldorado Fortress has three new torsos, three sails, and a recoloured tricorne-ponytail piece - Ten to twelve boxes/changes for the GE, but only seven for EF.
  22. Extrapolation based on past years and known release-dates, I believe.
