LEGO Star Wars 2023 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
Classic_Spaceman replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
While there are a number of blue-armoured Mandos in the trailer, I am not sure if the leaked figure matches any of them. As for the design, it appears to be a hybrid of the TCW-favoured torso armour (Fett-style) with Mandalorian-favoured leg armour (Din-style), so I can see him appearing in either a TCW or Mando S3 set. Who else would be included, though? I cannot see LEGO making a $25 set with (for example) Rex, Anakin, Ahsoka, and Ventress, since all four of those characters can sell a set by themselves. This is almost certainly LEGO's reasoning; it just makes me wonder what the other Minifigs will be in order to keep this set from overlapping with the 501st Battle Pack. -
This is rumoured to be listed as "Vault D2C", so it may be a remake of a classic set.

Interesting! TIL. 👍 I just looked at some of the panels, and Rex is wearing his P1 armour - Could we be getting a P1 Rex and some Shinies? That seems strange, since P2 is the more commonly-requested variant. -

Neither does including Rex in an ISP, though. -
Future LEGO Pirates Set Speculation
Classic_Spaceman replied to David Thomsen's topic in LEGO Pirates
From @lego_insider_news on Instagram: 10320 - [Vault D2C] - $214.99, 2509 Pieces, 18+ / July release / Based on the Pirates theme Thoughts? I am predicting either a new BSB or Eldorado Fortress (leaning towards the latter, since the target audience for this set likely already has the PoBB, and an Eldorado Fortress remake would provide a good rival base). -

I am very happy to be getting Rex, but I agree completely. Rex has never even been shown near an ISP, so his inclusion is even stranger, and since the set is most likely an army-builder (or at least, it had better be at $25 for 108 pieces!), the most likely Clone unit for the other Minifigs is the 501st (cannibalising sales from the Battle Pack). 🤔 @FoggyFate confirmed that the Swamp Speeder has four Minifigs, but did not comment (that I have seen) on the inclusion of droids. A thought: Do we know that the leaked blue Mando is from one of the Mandalorian Season 3 sets? Maybe the Swamp Speeder is a weird Siege of Mandalore tie-in, with Rex, two 332nd Troopers, and a Mandalorian Loyalist. Also from IG: 75361 - [Mandalorian Season 3] - $44.99, 526 Pieces, 3 Minifigs / August release -
Indiana Jones 2023 - Rumors & Discussion
Classic_Spaceman replied to Pulp Detective's topic in LEGO Licensed
I will hold off on believing anything until I see it posted publicly and/or confirmed by another source. The “entire population” that he was referring to was specifically the entire population of Nazis, not the entire population of Germans. So. . . Villains cannot be non-White because wokeness, but also villains are required to be non-White because wokeness??? I also feel the need to point out that the phrase “DIEversity” (specifically with “die” capitalised) is commonly used by White-supremacists, as it is referencing the so-called “White Genocide” Great Replacement conspiracy theory. -

The only Germans who are demonised in the Indiana Jones movies literally ARE Nazis! WTF?? -

That is not at all why the movie is problematic, and if that were actually the case, then why have we gotten characters such as Namor, 838 Mordo, Rae Sloane, MCU Electro (coming later this year), etc? Indeed. 😐 And Loki, and Kang Dynasty, and Secret Wars, etc, etc! -

@Brick Clicker has not said that either here or on Instagram, and the supposed cancellation is not being reported by any other sources (such as Promobricks). -

This is an absurd strawman, and you absolutely know that. Also, if you are personally offended that Germans are the villains in the Indiana Jones series, you are literally a Nazi. -

We do not have confirmation yet that the set has been cancelled, and if it were to be cancelled due to sensitivity/bad press, I find it difficult to believe that Disney would have let LEGO make (and almost release!) the set in the first place. -

Also, only one set from the classic trilogy has any military content, no sets have been made for KotCS (which means no Russian soldiers), and it does not appear that DoD will have a strong military focus (flashback scenes aside). -

Thank you for the clarification. Can you say whether the Temple of Doom is either delayed or outright cancelled, and are you aware of any reasons for said delay/cancellation (whoever the case may be)? -

I agree that this is unbelievable, which is why I do not believe you. Also, @Brick Clicker can speak for himself here if he wants to weigh in; I am personally suspicious of someone who is making claims that have not been substantiated elsewhere, and claiming to have received information via DM that could just as easily have been posted to IG. -

I just checked the current date, and it is June 30th; if the sets were scheduled for April 1st, I can see LEGO pushing them back a bit just to better coincide with the film’s release. -

That would be nice, but @FoggyFate said that the Minifigs would only be from ANH. 😐 Getting caught up: - Yavin IV is absolutely going to include Rebel Fleet Troopers; I am not sure why this is even a discussion. - Yoda’s starfighter is a pass for me unless it has a vastly better design compared to the previous iteration (which I have), or is based on BF2. - The ISP being $25 and 108 pieces means that it will probably have fewer than four Minifigs, opening up the possible Clone units that could be featured (since it would not need to feature a Commander or Jedi). I am curious about what is contributing to the weird PPP, though; while I would like it to be due to the inclusion of a decent number of Minifigs (essentially a second Battle Pack), I think that the use of large curved parts is more likely. 😕 -

Source? Also, if this is true, then the entire line may just be being postponed because of (possible) changes to the film’s release-date. -

I see nothing on their Instagram page, and @Brick Clicker has not commented here either. Until we get more information from a reliable source (such as Promobricks), I am considering your comments to be speculation (and possibly agitation). Now you are just throwing words around. Considering that we have not seen any calls for this set to be cancelled, I doubt that there is any “woke PC mob” (whatever that means) involved here. -

This is being blown vastly out of proportion. While the movie is undoubtably racist, this set in particular is not. Moreover, unlike with LEGO’s in-house themes, licensed sets need to be approved by the licence holders in-question - Namely Lucasfilm/Disney. I find it extremely unlikely that Disney would either let LEGO almost release a set without their approval, or only just realise that ToD (the movie) is offensive and decide to pull all merch for it. What is more likely is that the set has some kind of stability/structural issue, and it has been delayed until said issue can be fixed. This has happened before with the 2021 Marvel mechs, and considering that the set was designed around two years ago (during peak COVID), there may be a similar designed-from-home flaw in this set. -

What We Know: 75363 includes Mando and Grogu, and 75365 includes 12+ ANH characters. The advent calendar will include a Christmas-themed Ewok that has already leaked (light grey/white with a green patterned hood). All else is speculation (both educated and otherwise). -

At this point, I truly do not know if you are joking or not! Rebels/R1/ANH Vader would just need a new torso print (legs and arms from the existing one can be reused), so that is a possibility for his mech. As for the Stormtrooper, I hope that we at least get a pauldron or something to make it unique (and that the torso and legs revert to their 2019 designs!). This is complete and utter Bantha poodoo; the terms of the Star Wars license prohibit LEGO from selling individual Minifigs (to avoid cutting into Hasbro’s market), so the earliest that we could even think about SW CMFs is the early 2030’s (when the license is up for renegotiation).
