Harry Potter 2020 - Rumors & Discussion

I have been thinking how LEGO might do do Bill’s Wedding in a set and come up with this format, what do you guys think?: $30 set: Half a tent (open back along the long length). Includes the entrance, wedding cake and two drinks tables. Figures: Harry, Ron, Hermione, Bill, Fleur, Death Eater Then to complete the characters with lines in the scene: CMF figure: Xenophilius Lovegood (wedding outfit) & Quibbler (DH edition) Advent Calendar: Harry (with snitch) Ron (with invitation) Hermione (with bag), Elphias Doge, Aunt Muriel (uses the same hat at the CMF Calamity Drone), Luna Lovegood Builds include chairs, more tables and lamps, other decorations for the wedding scene. Micro Burrow also included -

Which dress would you want the figure to use? The slim regular one or that large one they made for the CMF 15 Queen? I think a wedding set is quite likely actually: it fits the target demographics and ‘dollhouse’ style going on and is the best remaining ‘party’ scene they can base the 2022 Advent Callander on (Luna in her dress an exclusive figure for example?) -

The new McGonagall looks amazing! I didn’t expect such an upgrade for her in the sets, I had her penned in for a future CMF slot and will scrap that idea how. I can’t wait to see what they do to Flitwick! Snape in my opinion should not get a new hair mould, I still want some continuity between the figures. The ‘accessory pack’ is a great idea, we need more of those with new recolours and useful accessories and prints such as a Quidditch, DA or DAtDA expansion pack (keep the ‘potion bottle’ cylinders to a minimum please!). New colours for brooms would be welcome (orange and dark read for example) -

That’s a lot of sets! I agree it is probably 2 separate waves, which would make sense given the variety of price points. Are the four book sets numbered before these? I think a mix mostly of DH and PS sets is most likely as people say Here are my guesses: 76386 - $19,99 Hagrid's Motorcycle (7 potters escape) 76387 - $39,99 Troll in the Bathroom 76388 - $79,99 Durmstrang Ship 76389 - $129,99 Battle of Hogwarts (Bell towers and boat house). 76390 - $39,99 Buildable creature. Nifler? Or a small version of Xenophilius Lovegood’s house 76391 - $249,99 Gringots Bank & Dragon 76392 - $59,99 Malfoy Manor 76393 - $119,99 Forbidden Corridor (PS challenges) 76394 - $39,99 Lake Task 76395 - $29,99 Voldermort in the Forbidden Forest (PS, with Firenze) I expect we will be very surprised with the true reveals, for example there may actually be a ‘Party’ set somewhere in order to prop up the next Advent Calendar -

I would love to see a modern take on the chess figures, they have lots of helmets and swards to choose from. Perhaps one day they will do a licensed full chessboard as a collectors set :D I have made my own witch statue: I reused the figure from an extra ‘rise of voldermort’ and gave it an extra Gandalf hat, it looks great all in the same colour! Could also make an honourable mention to the troll, Fluffy, Errol, Padfoot and Norbert -
I think there is not much left which is ‘important’ other than those you say, but as a ‘completionist’ I would like to be able to build the whole thing... So assuming the library is in the ‘training grounds tower’ (I think it says this on the Harry Potter wiki), we are missing the following bits: -The short square building next to the astronomy Tower, which might be where charms is located based off the HBP video game. It also and has a rope bridge coming out of it (we see it briefly during the dragon chase). -All of the ‘quad’ which is in between the Clock tower and the ‘Lookout tower’. In the Harry Potter wiki the two towers which are visible behind the clock tower are Gryffindor tower and ‘North tower’ where the Divination classroom is. But you could argue that these have been approximated already with the tower used for Dumbledore’s office in the set and also the tower with the Gryffindor bedroom. Then there is the stand alone West Tower aka the Owlrey and boathouse and I think that’s about it apart from some low profile ‘in between’ sections and bridges, the dome greenhouse and that entrance the trio walk through a lot in the first 2 films when going to see Hagrid etc Sorry I do always ramble lol

There was a forum on this site where people would contribute LDD versions of official sets to download, have a look there, someone might have done it by now -

Beautiful! Very recognisable and I love the details like Aang’s glider :D This is one of my favourite TV series. Will you do more? I would love to see a whole skyline for each nation, or book series :) -

The ‘book’ sets sound interesting, definitely targeting the younger audience and girls by the sounds of it. I welcome the classroom accessories and furniture like bookcases and chalkboards :) I’m hopeful that the new Flitwick will be good, his PS/CS version was in my wish list CMF series 3 What is our estimated prospects of new moulds coming in these 4 book sets? -

I’m the same, I get frustrated with inconsistency’s like that. The hair they use for the trio in series 1 is also annoying for the same reason (except Ron’s which actually looks pretty good for Y3, but then of course I had to get another for Hagrid’s hut for consistency). I expect Luna has long legs in the RoR set simply to reduce cost. Personally I have given her medium legs, swapped with Cho from the CMF so she is the same height as Harry for that film :) That’s reasonable ? Also Neville and Dean for that matter are physically much taller than the others from ~Y4 onwards. So personally I’m happy with some characters the same age being different heights so long as it more or less reflects what’s on screen :) -

Of all the sets released since 2018 the one build I would like them to return to to improve on is the Horntail dragon. A lot of people including me were un happy with the design especially the use of the ‘thunderbird’ head which is too eagle-like. So I thought about how we could have a new set with the dragon again (to get a new mould to do it justice), and I came up with this concept: This set is based on the only other scene where the dragon is seen, when Hagrid takes Harry into the forest to see the cages. We don’t see who is handling the dragons but it would stand to reason that Barty Crouch Sr, Professor Moody and Charlie Weasley were all involved, so that could be two new exclusive characters! What do you guys think? -

I didn’t notice this before and just had a look, I agree the beard details look based on Karkaroff! Great thinking ahead on lego’s part :) -

I can definitely see Hogsmeade being the next D2C after DA. I put together another one of my micro sketches so show how it could look: The big building in the middle is the three broomsticks, the shops on the right are the sweet and joke shop, and the Hog’s head is the one on the far left. It would be an opportunity to get a new variant of Hagrid, being his dark brown beaver/moleskin coat, in addition to many ‘winter’ versions of the students. This could also be the set from which an AC pulls figures from in the same year. -

I have done a couple more of my micro-sized set concepts, this first one is the much talked about ‘Malfoy Manor’ from DH1: This is designed as facade much like the Jurassic World fallen Kingdom mansion. It could come with many figures including Dobby and even Wormtail again in addition to the heroes and Malfoy family members. -

Hi I think you are talking about my concepts? If so thanks for the recognition :) I am happy to share them again: This is the Chamber of Secrets, which nicely fits into the Training Grounds tower and the two adjacent long sides of the Astronomy courtyard: The side building is the one which connects to the side of the Astronomy tower, and includes the chamber entrance with a slide underneath! This floor plan below shows how they could all combine together to complete the courtyard (The Chamber of Secrets are all the red buildings on the right hand side): Below is also the earlier prototypes, with the bathroom and Slytherin common room in a separate set (basically an update of 4712 and 4735 combined together): Polyjuice set below, which would still work with Myrtle taken out: -

Im interested how versatile the new wand-box element is, what else can fit inside it? Lipstick? Spoon? There is not much else shorter than 3 studs I think Can you fit two wands at once? -

Seeing now all the detail and dedication to capturing all the architectural features of Diagon Alley makes me reconsider the likeliness of Grimmauld Place, I think a similarly styled building is possible with a mix of ‘Christmas with the Weasleys’ and order of the Phenix figures, including another chance of getting Moody and Snape for those that missed them from the first wave -

Christmas Clothes and some outdoor ‘snowy’ builds would be nice, but I agree it will be weird to see grave stones etc from that scene if they go that route Maybe we will get James and Lilly as statues from the book? I’m thinking to keep with the ongoing ‘party’ theme it will actually be based at least partly on the wedding instead -

I totally forgot to post my list for HPCMF3 so here we go, should be a solid series in my opinion with many desired figures which people wanted from CMF2: 1 Harry (DH casual clothes) & mirror shard (printed tile) & golden snitch 2 Ron (DH casual clothes) & sward of Gryffindor again & deluminator 3 Hermione (DH casual clothes) & pouch bag & Tales of Beedle the Bard book 4 Draco Malfoy (Y3/4 robes) & Ferret 5 Lee Jordan (robes) & Microphone 6 Percy Weasley (prefect robes & new hat) & flying Errol (grey owl) 7 Cormac McLaggen (Quidditch training) 8 Tonks (OotP), pink hair, broom 9 Lucius Malfoy, cane, cape, new mould for the snake head decoration 10 Werewolf & Padfoot 11 Flitwick (PS/CS) new hat and beard 12 Lockheart & Pxie 13 Madam Pomfrey, Skele-gro bottle 14 Rufus Scrimgeour & suitcase & printed will tile 15 Rita Skeeter & green quill & notepad 16 Aunt Marge & Ripper As you see this version of the trio gives us all the objects from Dumbledore’s will :) Alternatively if Lego decided that it would be best to return again to ‘Hogwarts robes’ for the main trio then I would recommend the following: Harry (Y1/2) & Fang Ron (Y1/2) & flying Errol & howler printed tile Hermione (Y1/2) mirror, book with Basilisk illustration. Petrified face. Then I guess swap Percy and Scrimgour for someone else like Karkaroff and another version of Ginny or Luna -
That works too! I might brick-link an extra torso then. I’ll want to pick a different hair however to make his look different. What face will you use? I might just use a Malfoy as there will still be extras leftover from buying 3 packs ?
-
Ernest Macmillan uses one of the extra Draco hair: Another Hufflepuff Zachary Smith: Finally a Ravenclaw: Michael Corner. I’m really pleased with how this one came together: he uses an extra Draco’s face and the long black hair from a Yule Ball Harry!

Here are instructions for a few more characters using parts from the student pack as well as various heads and hair I happen to have in my storage. To complete all of these you will need the Harry and Ron from the AC, and two extra student packs: First is Pansy Parkinson, same as I posted earlier. If anyone is doing the popular head exchange for Lavender Brown this character would be a good use of the left over Rays’s head: Next is Ron, who’s figure is annoyingly missing right now from the ‘Room of Requirement’ scene: Nigel Wolpert uses a recolour of a hair which became available in BAM towers. Alternatively you could use a brown hair from Emmet, or one of Ron’s if you prefer.
