  1. Personally I’m pretending it’s the snake form of the boggart in PoA ?
  2. I’ll be buying two of this pack for sure, my first ever purchase of this style of set! I hope it sells well and next year we get another with 4 medium black legs and different students e.g. Pansy, Colin, Justin and Penelope
  3. Love the pack! Style Exactly as I expected, and I even like the little build of the book case and other accessories What spoils it for me however is that they all have full size adult legs, why not medium?? This year Lego seems to have all but forgotten about the medium legs, this set would have been a great way to fix the Luna from the RoR etc, and enable more variety for customising.
  4. Thanks for the positive feedback everyone, I appreciate it :) Here is the next castle module: The Chamber of Secrets Same as my first draft I put it into the far corner of the astronomy courtyard. This time I have included the bathroom entrance as we are expecting to get all the ‘girls bathroom’ figures in the CMF, so it’s unlikely to be its own set I think. Minifigures are the same as the original 2002 set, I couldn’t think of any one else to include except maybe a duplicate Moaning Myrtle. Btw all my concepts are based on my courtyard floor plan I showed earlier; the chamber of secrets using all the red sections on the right of the layout:
  5. Yes it is two versions of the room of requirement in one set, but for play and story selling it works for me; no different than if you were to combine two respective sets together.
  6. Some of you might know about my side project of designing micro sized ‘concept’ models of potential sets for a complete Hogwarts castle, and after the reveal of the astronomy tower and room of requirement I have gone back to my designs and made a few changes (reshuffling rooms, creating new set devisions etc). Here are the first two sets, which include many rooms and buildings on top of many peoples want lists: The Bell Towers is a ‘Deathly Hallows Part 2’ set, featuring the search for and destruction of the diadem, as well as some relevant ‘Half Blood Prince’ details. The ghost of the Grey Lady and Blaise Zabini are exclusive new characters. The ‘Lookout Tower’ is an ‘Order of the Phoenix’ set giving us Umbridge and Trelawney again in their different outfits from when the latter is fired. Fred and George appear also to reign havoc in revenge! More designs to follow :) These are free for anyone to use as inspiration for MOC’s etc
  7. I see your point but I think it would break the formula to much to have two heads for two different characters in a bag and most shoppers would be frustrated about not being able to build both figures at once, and being forced to buy two anyway and then having too many extra parts. That being said just having an extra hair is a bit lame as far as accessories go considering the price I just had another thought actually; they could each also come with a cupcake!
  8. Love the idea of a ‘student pack’ of figures, hope if true the builds they come with is something useful like bookcases and maybe those stone torch ‘braziers’
  9. Still lots of castle to do, and they all have different shapes and sizes: Lookout tower Central tower (long gallery) Bell towers Training grounds tower (courtyard) Boat house Owlry (west tower) Bits of the Quad etc
  10. Yes to all! It could be a big set and they can fill it with lots of figures we are missing from the GOF cast
  11. This looks really good ? Nice design! And I see my griffin statue and memory cabinet models in there ? That statue is my design ?, here is a better look:
  12. Thanks! I’m so happy to hear you will find this useful!
  13. The remaining sections would not all be one set, so each separate module would us still follow the ‘open-back’ design for playability. My proposition would be one possible build configuration for the complete collection. Notice I put a few extra pin locations where they are not used; multiple configurations could be possible. We have the viaduct entrance now in the Astronomy Tower set, that’s the coloured baseplate at the top left of the image.
  14. Hi everyone I got something for you. So now that we have the building known as the viaduct entrance i wanted to see how the rest of the long gallery and the courtyard might turn out using it as the basis for scale etc. So after creating the base plates from the new astronomy tower set I have made this: The red sections are parts of the castle we do not have yet, and hopefully should be very close to future sets. I have proposed locations for connection pins between some of the modules (Grey and black bricks). Regular red is the baseplate of the each section, and dark red sections indicate the footprint of an upper level such as a tower. The pink strips could be grass plates. I have also shown how the ‘greenhouse’ we have could be part of the courtyard profile. What do you guys think? What rooms would you put in the remaining structures? Do you think lego has a plan like this?
  15. Very interesting with the new clue, looking at my personal list I come up with the following guesses: 1- Firenze the Centaur 2- Lucius Malfoy, Madam Pomfrey, Hermione (Herbology) 4- Rita Skeeter 5- Tonks (pink hair) 6- Ron (quidditch) I think my list meets all the hint criteria we have so far? (Houses, movies, descriptions of new parts), correct me if I’m wrong That looks so much better, completely changes the figure! I hope Lego is paying attention to the feedback and makes that recolour of that hair available in a city set, store BAM towers or somewhere else so we have a chance of doing a swap. I’ll then use the old wig for Ron in the clock tower, to make him look even more embarrassing ?
  16. I’ve been saying this for weeks ? I expect either in CMF2 or as an exclusive figure with a book. That hidden side character also has a mould for a hat with moulded hair, which would be perfect for a hogsmeade village Hermione
  17. firstly thanks for Remembering my project and for asking ?! And yes It absolutely does!, the viaduct entrance is much smaller than I thought it was going to be and they wasted the interior space of it (in my opinion); rather than give us an identifiable new room like a new classroom for example. It’s made me redesign the size of the rest of the ‘long gallery’, and my approach to how the big castle sets will continue to be designed. I have 2 new interesting ideas for castle modules which I might sketch out like before soon :) Love this kind of image, I have I thing for scale charts etc, really interesting to see them deconstructed and set out like this. My guesses/thoughts on future castle sets are as follows: -The lookout Tower. The remaining part of the ‘front’ of Hogwarts which was included in the UCS set. -Camber of Secrets incorporated into the most boring parts of the courtyard (training grounds tower and the two longest sides) -Bell Towers and the long bit of the long gallery together in a $100 set -the central tower, tallest tower of the long gallery. A bit awkward to make as it would need to have its front covered up by the viaduct entrance build we have now. -the square corner of the courtyard next to the astronomy tower. Could be an add-on in another set. -boat house and Owlry are stand-alone and could be done at any time -the potential of remaining sections of the Quad depend on if the Headmaster tower and griffindor dorms tower we have already are intended to be part of it or not (attached to the sides of the clock tower for example).
  18. I’m so late into this forum ?It will take so long to read everyone’s commentary so I’ll just say my main thoughts: Things I’m happy to see: -grawp is better looking than I expected, they made a good choice using those hands and the hair is done well. I love all the green colours of the box art. -the bike handles with bell is a lovely detail - the room of requirement is much better than I anticipated, the wall build actually has lots of nice features and clearly connects to the rest of the castle. this is perhaps the most well-rounded set IMHP. -The robot death eater is perfect and a great addition. The burrow build looks excellent, I am surprised they open it at the side rather the back but it works. -The extra hinged section to open the living room is a good idea, but makes me wonder why they have not used the same method for the benefit of the castle builds. - the furniture, fireplace and other details of the burrow build are better than the original, they even engineered the top floor slanting! -the astronomy tower is very ambitious and each room has lots of great details -I like execution of the arches over the balcony, looks just like the real architecture -I love the complex telescope build and the astronomy planet model -I also love the table and other decorations for the party, the food and chocolate fountain look great! -4 mandrake pots!? Are they printed? -the Dursley family all look excellent; new prints! -Dursley house is a grand update of the original Things I dislike: -Molly‘a hair is just wrong, also her face doesn’t look like her. -Lavender is missing her skirt, should have been in the CMF to do justice -the Astronomy tower build tries to do too much and undermines itself by stretching itself thin. The west wing is too small and should have been saved for another set. -the green house room is weird as it uses the same colours as the castle masonry: in the movies they are made from steel (?) -those white frames in the astronomy tower are very distracting, why not use a more appropriate colour to blend them in. Even black would have been ok. -general weirdness of the floor plan and proportions of the astronomy tower set
  19. Agreed compared to Lavender from the movies that print Is comparable to Kristen Stewart’s ‘dull surprise’ https://images.app.goo.gl/NaijcTzhSByZS47o8 I agree with others on this thread Queenie’s expressions are much better
  20. It’s not been said yet I think but my guess is that the accessory for Moaning Myrtle is the action-pose bar and a jumper plate so that she can be posed ‘floating’. But I would love an undamaged Diary as well. Also on the subject of skipping sets for the sake of my money/shelf space I decided to limit myself to just the castle sections, Hagrid’s Hut, and a few sets with desirable Minifigures such as the rise of Voldemort. But I have found myself giving in to temptation and picking up more of them 2nd hand and now I’m only missing the train, quidditch and the bus ? I plan to get all the sets this year eventually except the Dursley House
  21. Nice to see the otter now too, It looks great! I think I was the first person to propose that a ferret could be made from the same mould, and with this I don’t think is possible, it’s body is too fat. It’s very encouraging to see the investment of two new animal moulds in one smallish set, hopefully they will both reappear in city as the real animals too. Maybe we will get Malfoy with a new ferret mould for a series 3! (fingers crossed)
  22. I would be pleasantly surprised if Malfoy was in the CMF, but I fear if there was going to be a ferret with him it might have leaked already/should have been on the packet front
  23. It has a stud on the back too! If only they did a recolour into a real looking hare it would be perfect for the bunny sled for Radagast the Brown! Sadly a few years too late for the Hobbit theme lol
  24. I Don’t see why they couldn’t come with a castle section set, one which includes the Slytherin Common-room, it could look like this: Myrtle is in the CMF now but I think this set still works without her
  25. If they plan do do the entire castle accurately to the movies I calculate 5 more ‘big’ sets (£/$60+) after the Astronomy tower, and then smaller detached locations like the boat house and Owlry as even more little sets. I made a small model and coloured the sections to distinguish separate modules: So we could be getting another 3 years without repetition!
