  1. I hope it is a full chess board and can be played with as a game set. I expect the pawns not to have minifigure torsos but some of the other pieces do. If each tile is 4x4 studs (5 bricks each to tile over), and the board is built with the new 16x16 Technic baseplates from the mosaic sets then it only takes 4 of those together to create the necessary 8x8 grid. So that’s 8x8x5=320 parts, plus Technic pins (lets say 8), that leaves: 876-320-8-4= 544 parts left for Minifigures, chess pieces and boarder decoration (there are 20 flames surrounding the board in the film, I expect them to be carried over for an authentic look) 3 Minifigures = 5x3 =15 parts 544-15 = 529 parts for the chess pieces and boarder decoration. So 529/32 = <16.5 parts each average for the chess pieces
  2. An idea struck me this morning... He hasn’t confirmed that the rememberall is specifically in the Hooch set has he? And we also don’t know which of the $30 and $40 sets is which. So what if actually the $40 set is a Quidditch chest with the leaked Hooch figure (reasonable price I think to make it look right, perhaps they use the same curved bay doors from the new Space Shuttle for the lid). Then the rememberall is in the $30 set, but it’s actually an accessory to the main build of that set... I was thinking about the Leaked Pixie mould and although it could easily come with the Chamber of Secrets set it seems odd to me that they would do that given the set has the new Basilisk moulds already... A pixie is not on the leaked box art, and is only tangentially relevant to the Lockheart figure. The new Pixie mould could easily carry a set on its own merits in its first introduction; like a DADA classroom module or moments book... or like Hedwig last year in a set of a buildable model of Itself! So my wild guess is that the $30 set is a brick-built life-size Pixie, with the rememberall as an accessory (part of the display stand), and it comes with either Lockheart or Neville with the new pixie in hand :)
  3. Mayeb it’s made of the Jurassic World Gyrosphere parts! 😅 I had a thought of a build-able Quidditch ball chest, just like the one Oliver wood shows Harry, but $30 doesn’t sound enough for that and look decent.
  4. Still can’t get over it that I guessed the D2C all that time ago 😅 I wasn’t being cynical with my prediction, just based on the information/advice given and trying to think outside the box. I also had in mind Hamleys Toyshop in London which has for years had that wonderful PS Chess Set on display, along with many other props like wands, time turner, snitch etc I always had a look at it when I visited that shop. Given what everyone else is saying about the £120 set, I wonder if it’s unreasonable to think if it could be a smaller and more affordable Micro Hogwarts: the complete castle on a square base, no interior or micro figs. Like the many MOC’s on IDEAS.com
  5. Possibly, but then the set may have 2 Quirrel figures. Another likely character is McGonagall as the Chess Board is her defence
  6. Ah!! I called it first :D Should look awsome in a shop window, but I will probably skip it too myself
  7. We were talking about Angelina Johnson a little while back. So I made a version of her potential figures in LDD, these are the parts and colours I would wish LEGO uses: Hopeful she makes an appearance in a Common Room or future castle set :)
  8. Nice question :) I would quite enjoy designing an advent calendar actually, it’s a fun challenge to make something recognisable and playful with a small budget of parts Otherwise I would love to have a go at a ‘bell towers’ set, I have the scale and style already to work from with the existing sets and would push for a new mould for the ‘bell tower’ roof (half-octagon base). It would probably be a ‘battle Hogwarts’ playset, and I would commission figures such as Proffesor Vector, the Ghost of the Grey Lady, The Carrows and Neville in his jumper
  9. Thanks :) maybe you will find them ucefull, they are a simple approximation based on the existing modular buildings, using mostly only one plate for each module:
  10. Sounds like you are just like me! Have you seen my baseplate floor plans for the Quad and Astronomy Courtyard?
  11. I’m getting all sorts of deja-vu right now! 🤣 Some people had the idea of Newt being his school-robes self with a bowtruckle as accessory, great way to get Hufflepuff colours!
  12. I would love to see those notes too, I enjoy going into the detail locating all the rooms, stairs etc in the castle :) — The pic bellow is a nice shot of Buckbeak’s flight... How about a PoA themed castle section, could be called ‘Sirius Black’s rescue’ to be more marketable: includes Buckbeak, Sirius, Hermione, Harry, but also Lupin and some other students and a few Dementors. The interior would be PoA scenes such as Lupin’s Boggart lesson, and his office. Side connecting building is the dark tower/holding cell.
  13. Maybe we need to think more of things like 1:1 scale models of props etc. eg: Brick-built chocolate frog and beans box. Build-your-own-wand parts pack. Maybe character portrait mosaics 🤢 I think a UCS PS Based Chess board set is not unlikely
  14. Agreed, they used those legs a few times for rare figures such as the Dimensions gremlin and the demogorgan, but why not for original themes such as Ninjago monsters or even festive Easter rabbits? They could be used in Starwars too for the Geonosians
  15. Precisely my point! That would be the worst, it would be much better to get a completely different set of characters to the first student pack (even if they were recycled existing prints like Hanna was), that way you can swap the heads between the packs to create more unique figures!
  16. We are still expecting a new ‘student pack’ yes? Most people assume it will be a quidditch set with each house represented by 1 player. I rely hope it comes with a full set of balls, brooms in different colours etc. My nightmare though would be if the characters themselves were the usual repeats we keep on getting. Legoharrypotterworld on IG today posted this set of custom figures: https://www.instagram.com/p/CLxaQ_AJYRI/?igshid=g1oz7hupemd Although they look great this is precisely the set of characters I really hope they do not do 🙈 we have enough spares of all these faces! What would be your ideal characters? I would much rather see: Gryffindor: Angelina Johnson (Uses the female genie hair in dark brown) Slytherin: Marcus Flint Hufflepuff: Zacharias Smith Ravenclaw: Roger Davies And the new pint: 2x3 tile with a schematic of the quidditch pitch.
  17. That bathroom build 🤢, I can’t see how it fits in with the others unless they come apart in the middle I’m not a fan of the green roofs but for me these sets will be parts packs to expand my own creations based on the previous sets. CoS is VERY evocative in profile of the first Hogwarts set from PS, seems to work (chamber door looks great) and looks ok but who asked for this? In all the castle builds it seems like they gave up trying to look like a part of the specific castle and went for random/made up structures. I hope we get some nice stuff in the tower for Lockheart’s office/classroom Also called it on the Basilisk using the new large macaroni parts (Micky mouse/ bonsai tree), head looks really great 👍 seems to be using the velociraptor lower jaw too
  18. It’s a much smaller set than you describe but a while back I designed a castle extension set with much of The same rooms, but here Umbridge’s office is as compact as Slughorn’s Another close existing mould is the ‘princess’ hair/hat combo from CMF series 12 https://images.app.goo.gl/WdNDx8KJQqhVSiey8 That looks really good! Makes me want a real one :D
  19. They have the perfect mould already for her hat: Scarecrow’s from the Wizard of Oz
  20. This actually is a set I would rather like, it would be a great parts pack for integrating her office into a castle section and the unique colour and style would definitely set it apart from the others. Like Lockheart Umbridge has a different outfit in every scene so she could also be a unique figure (such as a new mould with her hat from her first speech to the school or the knitted overall she wears when she fires Trelawney
  21. I love these fun exercises :), My inner Ravenclaw enjoys these kind of puzzles, so this is my list: Anniversary set: 76391 - $249.99 (D2C) OoTP based Hogwarts castle extension: Bell Towers, Central Tower, Long Gallery and Owlery tower side-build all together, with Umbridge, Trelawney, & their offices/classrooms, Hufflepuff dormitory, Fred & George setting off fireworks, Filch, Luna, Cho, a Thestral, Madam Pince, Golden Dumbledore. DH set: 76392 - $59.99 Lovegood’s House Ambush (7 figures including Scabior & Greyback) 2018 remake: 76393 - $119.99 Dragon task remake with all 4 dragons brick-built full scale with a new mould for the Horntail’s head. Figures include Barty Crouch Sr, 3 head-teachers, 4 champions again. Accurate Red Firebolt also. Model: 76394 - $39.99 Buildable Nifler with Newt figure & Nifler New Scene: 76395 - $29.99 Forbidden Forest Encounter (Voldermort, Fang, Firenze etc) It’s interesting to see the repeats and choices everyone else makes, the Nifler has become very popular I see, I quite like everyone’s list actually
  22. Add Lee Jordan and The Grey Lady Ghost to that list and I would say that is my wish list/goal for the theme before it finishes
  23. Since Lego is experimenting and going off convention with the buildable Hedwig and the moments-book sets I can see them doing some more like those in time for the winter ‘gift’ season, so here is my list: £250: Harry Potter PS Collectors Edition Chess Set £120: Durmstrang Ship £60: Attack on Lovegood’s House £40: Buildable Nifler (just look at the FB merchandising, the Nifler is very popular!) £30: Weasley Wedding Ambush I think this is reasonable too considering the few new moulds required (Krum’s hat, that’s about it), as it sounds like a lot of the budget is going on the first wave
  24. Some people have had the idea for it to be used for the duelling club, which would make sense for many of the figures includes
  25. I think that hat would be great for Aunt Muriel Personally, Pince could use the witches hat or a new mould. Any one else thinking the new thick bent tube parts used on the bonsai tree and large Micky mouse figures will be used on the Basilisk body?
