  1. This effort is really boggling my mind! I for one would love to study the virtual model while waiting for the physical set to get its first good discount. What are your thoughts/plans on sharing the virtual model (once completed)?
  2. I'm just poking fun of course! Still, when I wanted to build your Aventador, it's this part that I had to buy a lot of extra... never seen it used so much before. But I have to agree with you, it's very useful indeed. Your builds have been very educational for me!
  3. @mihao Let me guess, this is your favorite part:
  4. Maybe this is not the right thread, but does this issue with 20z gears somehow specifically surface in large gearboxes? Reason: I have a ton of those new-style gears but never noticed problems; however, they're all from large non-supercar sets like Bucket Wheel Excavator and Rough Terrain Crane, which were running smoothly on my end.
  5. Impressive indeed! I have some experience with LDCad but I couldn't hope to be so fast. Well maybe if I could finally remember & utilize all those hotkeys...
  6. Something similar in scale to this Dodge RAM?
  7. I think the newer version on the right is said to be very slightly thicker than the older version on the left, potentially causing more friction. But maybe someone wants to correct me...
  8. And to clarify my statement about finding it "hard to imagine" a psychedelic Lambo: I meant to say I lack imaginative capabilities, not that it wouldn't look awesome! @agrof You should be careful though... Before you know it you'll get accused of plunging this thread into another discussion on color vomit!
  9. I love it too... on the Porsche. But would such a psychedelic scheme work on a Lambo too? I find it hard to imagine!
  10. Silver is a great idea, thanks! Indeed, I've been more concerned with whether I could, not whether I should...
  11. I've been considering building the Centenario in Red... The 3x13 arch panels and the wheel arches are readily available in Red from you-know-where. Only thing that concerns me is how that will affect the look of the rear lights? They might "disappear" against the red bodywork...
  12. Probably not only you, but personally I still think Lime is the best. The perception that all colors look pretty good is -- I think -- an indication of the model's design having been very well executed! I do agree the lack of printing on the tires is a sadly missed opportunity...
  13. You could request a comparison in this thread:
  14. I also see a 3 x 13 panel in Yellow, which could be added to your listing of special parts.
  15. Did you already consider whether your Centenario itself could be swapped to Lime? (Not saying it's a good idea... ) Assuming the Sian's new wheel arches can be made to fit the Centenario, that leaves only 4 part types (currently) unavailable in Lime: The 9L beam. Surely there's a workaround. The 10 x 1 curved bricks. Surely there's a workaround. The 7 x 3 panels. A possible workaround is to use #3/#4 panels, potentially coupled with #21/#22 panels to fill the gap. The Bionicle wings. An elegant workaround is not immediately obvious to me.
  16. Ha, I guess I got lucky then... Recently I took @nico71's Leaning Tricycle -- with Lego buggy motor and CaDa battery -- to the office and the guys were racing it around, doing donuts and whatnot. I'll be more careful from now on...
  17. Makes me wonder what software they use that facilitates such errors. I have some experience with LPub3D and I don't see how -- even if I wanted to -- to make inconsistent alignments (of which I spotted a few more in the latest PDFs). Well, okay, there's many things I don't know how to do in LPub3D anyway, so...
  18. Nice! Building instructions have now been made available for download. https://www.lego.com/en-us/service/buildinginstructions/search?initialsearch=42115#?text=42115 They fixed some errors, including the wrongly rotated 2L beam in step 921, as shown in @Sariel's hands-on review.
  19. What really bugs me in those videos, though, is that they talk of a journey and learning process and blah blah, BUT, they have in their hands always the final model! Sure you can see some prototypes, but only as unsharp glimpses in the background. It's like those commercials for razors, where they demonstrate the razor by shaving an already hairless armpit...
  20. Yeah after watching the speed build I actually thought to myself the color vomit isn't so bad here. Besides lime there's some red and yellow, which are both useful colors.
  21. But isn't it clear that "we" -- the long-time AFOLs and seasoned MOCers -- are simply not the main target audience for this set? The hype building, fancy packaging, color vomit, one-part-per-step instructions, ... this is all for a different audience. Don't feel "offended" by these things, because you were not targeted. "We" populate this forum, so we seem very numerous and vocal here, but our wallets only contribute marginally to the total money chased by TLG with this set.
