Unpopular Opinions about LEGO
Driver Brandon Grumman replied to Lego David's topic in General LEGO Discussion
So.....after putting it together, I'm not too keen on the 2023 Garbage Truck. Personally, I think I'll stick to older garbage trucks from City. -
Wow! Not a bad MOC dude! Let me offer a little advice; make the back side of the vehicle's roof more curvy and extend the window piece a bit to make it more accurate.

I got a deal on mine. Sadly the one sold to the US didn't get the same treatment as the one that was sold to the UK. In the UK, you can convert the set into an ASDA store. But in the US, the factory setting was the only way to go. Whole Foods is a pretty popular grocery store chain in the US with both adults and children - and the set seems to give nods to the organic food industry. So why not be able to convert it to one of those in the US? That sounds like a great idea to me.

We did get a Ferry Boat in 2019. But I see what you mean by cruise ship!

Are all the Lego themes connected?
Driver Brandon Grumman replied to Wolfpackfan99's topic in Community
I'd say that pretty much all themes with yellow people are in the same universe. -
I wouldn't mind seeing one of those.

Ikr! I only have some new sets because I got a deals on them. But for the most part, as far as City sets are concerned, I prefer older sets - especially the buildings.

DUDE!!!!! Back during the road plate craze, I was fighting hard for those for Friends sets. If Friends had road plates, they'd be very compatible with City sets. I was also thinking of more a lavendar or even peach colored road plates to represent the pleasant suburb or Heartlake in comparison to the realistic danger of Lego City.

I would also recommend a cargo subtheme with the 60336 cargo train.

PUBLIC TRANSIT SUBTHEME!!!! We could've had one of those with a two more public transit related sets along side 60335 and 60337.

You know....there is a forum on here for that type of discussion. You know, the ones about the ideas you have for City sets. I can't wait to hear your ideas for City sets as its kinda my favorite topic to discuss. They may not all happen (though Lego has been spoiling us recently), but it wouldn't hurt to spit'em out. The link is right here.

What do you think about a basketball court pack?

So given that I recently saw a pedestrian crossing piece, of which I am having a hard time finding the leaked pictures of, I have come up with some other road plate packs. Race Course Road Plate Pack - City seems to have been catering a lot to car enthusiasts recently, especially the racing world. So.....I think a race course pack could do good, especially with all the car enthusiast based sets we've been getting. Parking Lot Road Plate Pack - As there are also a lot of vehicles in the City theme - for obvious reasons, I've been thinking that a parking lot road plate pack would also be good. Of course, we got some symblance of parking spaces with the hospital and grocery store sets. But I don't think it would hurt to see one of those come standalone. It can even include a handicapped parking space. Get a few of those road plate packs and you've got a full blown area where all of the vehicles in your Lego box can park. Bus Lane Road Plate Pack - As a former bus driver, I have seen something called bus lanes down here in the DMV. These lanes have special traffic lights that alert you when the buses have the right of way and only buses are allowed to travel in those lanes. Perhaps we can implement something like that in the City theme with road plated that say "BUSES ONLY" and special bus right-of-way traffic lights. Airport Runway Road Plate Pack - Ok! So maybe this is one of those that builders can just do on their own. But it wouldn't hurt to see one of these be in City. Maybe there could be a gag of one of the plates saying "Plane Xing". Dirt and Gravel Road Plate Pack - The various wildlife and farm sets in City actually give off dirt road vibes. So why not one of those? Solid Yellow Lines Pack - I'm surprised this wasn't in there. Could be used to connect two road plated side by side to make double lanes coming and going. So those are my ideas for road plates.

Man! I wish Lego would do a race course set. It would be a true excuse to make curvy roads plates. That leads me into something else too! People are saying that the road plates are set to be discontinued, but I highly doubt that as there are children who love to roll their Lego vehicles on them when playing pretend and there are adult town builders who use them for their towns. So I personally think they'll stick around, especially there is a new pedestrian crossing piece that I believe leaked on Instagram - can't really find a picture of it. Some other ideas I have other than the race course are......well....you've gotta go on the Ideas for new City sets forum to see those.

Nice one man! The Nissan Z car is definately a sport compact legend: if not more legendary than the Skyline. My favorite version of the Z is the Nismo variant.
