Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Driver Brandon Grumman replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
The only one I would see an issue with there is probably the railway station. The others may actually work. You can always downsize the bowling alley. Lego is just good at downsizing something, but making it look better in the process. Look at what they did with this year's harvester. -
@MAB They rely on stickers period. If stickers are discontinued at all, it'll cause problems. Printed pieces are ok and all, but if Lego diverts completely away from stickers to use printed pieces, then its going to be harder on MOCers, especially rookies like myself, now than it was when stickers, which you don't have to put on, were available. Point is....getting rid of stickers all together is a bad move! Just like they wouldn't get rid of sets that sell well.

LEGO City 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion

I'm gonna assume one of those MDP is a people pack. Lego is capable of making up to 10 City subthemes a year. I hope they shock us with two more to go with that explorers theme if there is one this year. Other than the Town subtheme! I wouldn't call it a HUGE number that we're getting. But it's a decent amount. Oh shoot. I forgot about those privacy laws in Europe that just started. Thats the whole reason why the VIP system only allows us to redeem our points via the internet. So that could also be probably why we haven't seen leaks. So we have to wait for the official pics. Sorry guys! -

@RuffDraft Man. No one cares if its American. Lego internationally sells sets that take place in one country all the time. Don't crush people's hopes and dreams. -

Yeah! I wanna see a soda shop! -
@Gomek I say both printed pieces and stickers have their uses. But if Lego turns away from stickers and goes to printed pieces (and yes, I mean even the Xtra stickers), I wonder how MOCers are going to take it. Most of them rely on Xtra stickers.

I adore the people packs. I remember the first one I got was the park people pack. -
I got this today! Looks like I'm gonna have to make that pizzeria and grocery store myself.

Capital idea Teri. I actually am now getting impatient though. I want leaks!!!!! No animosity towards the police. I do like the Diamond Heist set. Just picked that one up today. -
LEGO City 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
Driver Brandon Grumman replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
To be frank, City is the only theme that specializes in repetitiveness. We barely see anything new. The only new stuff we saw this year were the four town sets and a few of the great vehicles. The rest were subjects that are overrated and are covered every single year; catching criminals, putting out fires, making discoveries and exploration. It's time for a change, City. -

I mean....make some police sets. But I don't really want to see another police theme in 2021. -

I don't mind them either. But in addition to the usual fire and police routine, I would like Lego to take a break from its usual system for City with the explorers sets. 2021 would be a good time. Take that time to focus on other awesome City sets like airplanes or ships or construction. I really want the latter subtheme to return. I mean like it was in 2005. Not just as a few vehicles here and there. You can't really argue that "Outside the City" kinda defeats the point of the City theme. It's an oxymoron. -

60250, 60268, 60270, 60271, 60273 and 60274 remain unnamed. 60250 is a great vehicle so I expect that one to be revealed soon. I hope it's a school bus or something else that City has never done before or in two years. -
The Current State of the City

I think we share that opinion. 2007 to 2009 were City's best years in my opinion. That's kinda what I love about City buildings. I like simplicity. Build a nice and detailed town without going out of your budget. Unlimited fun for limited funds. I actually have mocked before. But they aren't very good. That's why I'd rather have Lego fo certain things for me. Three of my MOCs were a post office, a bus stop, a private cell for the Brickster and a bad attempt at a pizzeria. -
LEGO City 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion

I hope so. Or else I'm gonna panic. Tbh though, I think 2019 is the first time in years that City has mostly released subjects based inside the city. 2020 seems to be promising too. I hope the In/Out theme isn't an explorers theme. A lot of City fans (myself included) kinda want a break from those. -

Yeah. Like that plane and tower they gave us for the base set. Sorry but I didn't care for that. I hated it actually. But it seems like its only on here that people seem to embrace whatever Lego does. ...and thanx.
