  1. I actually recommended one of those once. I called it the Cops and Crooks People Pack Includes: Duke DeTain Wheeler Tom Bennett Sam Grizzler Rooky Partnur Daisy Kaboom Big Betty Frankie Lupelli Vito Snake Rattler
  2. Sets Idea: This is actually my version of a Transport subtheme revival. Harbor - A cross between the harbors from both 2007 and 2011. Includes the new magnet piece. Bus Driver Meet - Includes a blue city bus, yellow school bus, green motor coach and a red two story bus. Stops also would be included. AFOLs can put it in their towns and it could also act as a bus terminal. Or for KFOLs, they can play bus driver. Buses have easy to remove roofs too. Garage - Less cartoonish than the tuning workshop. More generic looking like the one from 2009. This would be focused more on service and repair than high performance upgrades and customization. Cargo Terminal - Comes with everything a cargo terminal needs including straight truck and freight plane. Speedy Delivery - Basically a post office. I call this Speedy delivery so it could appeal to kids more. Includes a six stud wide postal van. Recycle Truck - Basically a recycle center. Its similar to the recycle truck from 2012. Taxi - a taxi van and a little waiting area.
  3. @TeriXeri That was back when City's buildings were still well detailed. But they were playable at the same time. I'm thinking of a transport subtheme that's a combination of Transport, Traffic and Cargo.
  4. Btw, isn't this topic supposed to be about City set ideas.
  5. Nice City!
  6. I agree with you there. That's why nowadays, I only get sets as long as they are reasonable. Sometimes when I go on eBay, I find certain parts of sets and most of them on are actually useful. I was able to find the harvester from the harvester transport. I ordered it.
  7. I agree! Creator needs to start making houses again. I understand trying to understand why Lego does what they do. But taking houses from a Lego theme that made its money on houses during its launch is going too far.
  8. I'm not a sexist. I say this from experience in working with children. Friends is basically City from a girl's point of view. That's why. Both of them are focused on city life from a different gender's point of view. For boys, city life mostly has to do with vehicles, especially ones involved with first responders, heavy machinery or adventure vehicles. For girls its things like going to the mall or shopping. Thus why both themes do things different. Overall, little boys don't really pay attention to details like little girls do, thus why City isn't known for being very detailed with their buildings as they are with their vehicles. Though I did recommend that Lego start a City 16+ line that will put a wedge between modulars and the regular City sets. I'd like to keep hope alive, but others doubt it would happen. But we can always MOC for a reason. For right now, as my good buddy @Vindicare has said before, it's best to keep our wishlist within reason.
  9. Oh no. I wasn't accusing you. I was just saying that in case someone DID want to make my statement seem false. So that's why I said, I only speak from my perspective. I don't speak for anyone else.
  10. Man! This is just awful. It's bad enough that we have to go through a maze of a shop website to recover our VIP points now. But to basically tell AFOLs in the kindest and most subtle way possible to go to H-E double brick hauler (excuse my language)....that's taking it too far. I wonder how the AFOLs as a whole will suffer now that they have received confirmation that Lego doesnt give a flying brick about us. I mean.....what kind of people are running TLG?
  11. I kinda meant one strictly on City. But that will do I guess.
  12. It probably would've been town related as it wouldn't do well on it's own and there isn't anywhere else to put it. I don't think it would've affected them in anyway though. It seems like you and @jonwil know about canceled City sets. You should make a thread called Cancelled City Sets Discussion.
  13. @TeriXeri Though I do have to admit that the writer of this thread does have a point. It kind does seem like City only focuses on first responders, exploration and discovery and great vehicles. That's why the four automotive sets surprised me. That's just my point of view. You don't need to challenge me because I'm not speaking for anyone else. I'm seeing it from my point of view.
  14. Except......I was one of those kids that would. No lies. Matter of fact, all you needed to do was tell me and I'd remember it like that. Let's just say, my IQ was just that high.
  15. Two thumbs up
  16. Yeah! That one especially should've had at least one commercial. Same with the bus station and Cargo terminal from 2017. I do have to admit that the whole subtheme thing is too disorganized now than it was back in 2008.
  17. I personally think that after that series is done, because I hear its supposed to be short, they should go back to making all characters unnamed. Unnamed characters are much better as they fuel your imagination more. That's how I would've felt as a child. I would've felt pretty obligated to use characters that are already named for you as opposed to having characters you can name yourself.
  18. Just got my haul of animal moulds. I just got a street sweeper and a mail plane.
  19. Micro Machines was my childhood and man were those some pretty damn good toys. I had a few of them.
  20. City 16+ It would be in between City and Modulars, but they would be sold for reasonable prices. This version of Lego City would be for a TFOL age range and would focus more on town planning than vehicles - though vehicles would still be included and the characters would remain unnamed. I was initially going to call it Town Planners, but I figured that it would be better and cheaper to use a popular name that already exists.
  21. @TeriXeri I call it the Race subtheme. Though the Stunt Team gives more of a vibe to the Extreme Team subtheme than a revival of the Race subtheme from the 90s. Its rumored to be called Turbo Wheels. I guess we'll have to wait until it shows up on the official site to get confirmation. So far, that's my favorite wave for 2020.
  22. Yeah. I would have to agree. So my recommendation is kinds pointless.
  23. Oh....and to answer your question, here's how. Arctic, Mining, Space are all separate City subthemes right? Now we merge all of those into one new City subtheme - Explorers. That's basically how it has to do with it. Unfortunately I can't really say a lot because I'm busy right now. But that's basically the short version of a long explanation.
  24. @TeriXeri Nooooo! Keep them under City but put them all into one subtheme.
