  1. @W Navarre Thank you so much! I'm really glad you enjoy Alrune's setting, especially as it's a sneak peak of my oncoming MOC! But given the associated storyline, she won't wear that outfit...
  2. @Umbra-Manis Thank you very much!
  3. #1. How to win someone's heart? Let's hear the answers of those wise Avalonian ladies... Josephine von F., princess - "Even if you’re not the prettiest of them all, even if you don’t have the gifts of song and beauty, believe me: one day you’ll find your true love and their heart will be yours unconditionally.” Smeralda N., sorceress - "With the right potion, it's a piece of cake to make someone's heart beat for none but you! But remember that your seller cannot be held liable for the consequences." Bertille S., innkeeper - "There is no better way to someone's heart than through the stomach! Even the hardest of hearts melts like grilled cheese over a well-baked fougasse." Alrune d'E., scholar - "The straightest way to someone's heart is here, through the third and fourth ribs. It's rather easy to take with the right tools and a little experience in dissection." ⇩ Detailed parts list
  4. It's not exactly a secret that I enjoy making minifigs, especially fantasy-themed ones. And unsurprisingly, I make minifigs way quicker than I build the MOCs they could populate. So why not have those minifigs take part in the Historican Adventure too - the ones that are neither tied to a build, nor to a contest? I'll share them regularly here, in this thread. And don't hesitate to join me! Now for the first issue, in the first comment below, I’ll go for a very seasonal theme and a recurring question! Index: #1 - How to win someone's heart? #2 - Carnival in Varlyrio
  5. @Kai NRG Thank you! It's quite amazing how many readhead options there are for minifigs...and not only thanks to the HP Weasleys'! @socalbricks Thank you so much! Their story will be integrated in my main Embervale storyline, but in a few episodes only. I've had some kind of writer's block lately, and now I have many ideas but not enough time to build!
  6. Falconry Training:
  7. My entry to the "Old but Gold" category of the final contest of the Guilds' Anniversary: an updated version of one of my very first GoH builds. Two years and a half have past since I posted the original, and time has flown by. I feel like my style and taste has evolved, both as a builder and a storyteller. Recreating a build designed for the Mitgardian wilderness in the more organised, refined surroundings of an elvish castle in Avalonia, and trying to translate its characteristics features, has been a lot of fun! ________ “Have you noticed, honey," Dresghar asked his niece as his eagle pinned the lure to the ground, "how the airspace above Embervale seems to be a very popular flight route among homing pigeons, lately? Well, my bird and I are only one training session away from finding out what’s it’s all about...” ________ Original version: ________ More photos of the new version: ________ And, of course, the recreation would not be complete a bit of information about the birds...
  8. Promobricks released the list of the next Disney CMF, and many of them sound interesting: Tiana, the Queen of Hearts, Aurora (with owl), Pocahontas and the Evil Queen - and maybe even Pinocchio, Robin Hood and Prince John may include minifig parts reuseable in any fantasy setting! Given my current storyline in the Guilds of Historica, I certainly have high hopes of the Evil Queen, the classiest Disney Villain ever.
  9. I fully agree with you. That fig still is my favourite CMF minifig ever because of the falcon, extravagant cloth caps and nice and versatile hip/leg part, but I was very disappointed by the printed cape.
  10. Very nice scene! I love the vegetation, especially the vine on the wall and the little flowers by the house - nice use of those angled green parts! I also like how the gates look credible both from the front and from the back. PS: interesting story, now I'd like some soup too...
  11. That's a place where I'd love to spend some time! The subdued color palette and sleek design makes it look appropriately dignified. Excellent furniture design as well, especially the table!
  12. What a nice idea! I really like how the new build extends the old one. The floor pattern is beautiful too, as well as the stone carvings. Excellent blackmith minifig too!
  13. What a neat tower shape! Nice terrain as well, the smooth shapes you used for the snow are in my opinion a beautiful improvement compared to the original landscape.
  14. Excellent ideas, and very nice figs! Ayra's winter outfit looks great...and Kars' scarf is perfect.
  15. Thank you very much! I do plan to integrate a follow-up of the story within my main Embervale storyline. And concerning the fact that the orphan is a redhead as well...it's all part of the plot... Thank you so much! I have to admit I was rather surprised by the variety of available female ginger hairstyles.
  16. My entry to the "Farmstead Figures" category of this year's edition of Brickscalibur - and a handful of hard-working citizens for Avalonia! --- Hademar Half-Dwarf had lost two fingers and half a leg to war. Yet he deemed himself fortunate, for when peace had come the Baron had granted him several acres of fertile land and a few heads of cattle. This enabled him to marry his long-time sweetheart. They were blessed with five healthy and hard-working daughters. And for years their little farm kept thriving nicely. Until one day an old friend of his, a former brother in arms, showed up at the gates with a frightened young girl. An orphan, he said. A poor little thing he had rescued from brigands. They talked about the old times, they talked about their fallen fellows and about the ones who lived, and his comrade soon talked Hademar into welcoming the girl in his household. And while he welcomed her with warm words and open arms, Hademar felt deep in his heart that this meant trouble for his farm and his family. From left to right: Hersent, Heloïse, Hildegard with baby Hemma, Heilwig, Hademar Half-Dwarf, his old comrade Renart, the orphan girl, and Hermine with her horse Hero.
  17. The French LEGO Store in Disney Village, near Paris, had all the new minifig parts of the top row of @RichardGoring's photo in addition to quite a lot of older parts. There was also a green sombrero I don't see in the picture. Notable new accessories also available were blue bunnies (a new recolour, as far as I know), the good old azure bird and the lute.
  18. Nope, it's the same blue as Bruni the salamander, or as the blue teddy bear...it's a more saturated blue than the owl. If you have the two City dolphins, the bunnies are the same blue as the "bluer" dolphin and the owl is the same blue as the "greyer" one. Sadly, yes.
  19. I agree! I did. They had received only 3 boxes (!!!): they had opened and sorted one of them (but all the falconers and orcs they had found were gone), and opened but not sorted the other two. I checked all the little packets with one of the (very nice and helpful) employee. A few falconers were on sale on BL in France this afternoon, but as of now they're all gone. The prices were high - but not high enough to prevent me from ordering two of them, I'm afraid.
  20. Blue bunnies showed up in the BAM station at my LEGO Store! I reckon they're "medium blue", more precisely. The only other animals I saw in the BAM were azure birds. I also came home with otters, a koala and a white chihuahua, but sadly no falcon: someone had already taken all the falconers (and all the orcs) from the very few Series 24 boxes the store had!
  21. I ordered those parts - not all of them are new, I reckon:
  22. I just saw that too! Definitely thrilling!
  23. Oh, great news! And awesome categories...
  24. Count me in if anything happens around here! I'm going to have a few tough months at work, but I have a GOH build-in-progress - and story-in-progress, too, even if I've been experiencing a bit of a writer's block recently.
  25. Interesting! And perfectly appropriate for an austere 15th century tournament knight... On an unrelated note, and according to promobricks, the 2023 wave of Harry Potter sets is likely to bring us interesting parts for fantasy MOCs - again. At least a mermaid and a little underwater monster (probably a new mould).
