LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
Rockstaremcee replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I agree. I love Marvel, but a yearly series would likely get to be too much, (for other people haha). Comparable to my prior frustrations when we had TLBM Series 1 and then 2, followed by DC "classics" series, It felt like we had a multiverse of Batman's and company. -
Winter Village Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Rockstaremcee replied to Gearslover01's topic in LEGO Town
It's like you foretold the future. Also, like you foretold the future. Strangely enough, I bought an entire collection from a family that had this whole set in it. I was ecstatic! Especially because I paid less for it than My bad, that was supposed to be posted in the "What Did You Buy Today?" thread. Funny how we all differ, I had thought of buying two and building a larger sled to hold more toys. I remember seeing a clip of a cartoon called American Dad that had some ridiculous war/battle with Santa and the elves LOL North Pole HOA Excellent idea! -
Winter Village Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Rockstaremcee replied to Gearslover01's topic in LEGO Town
My Bad Batch sets and Bro Thor Apartment both showed up from S@H. This weekend picked up several sets from Wal-Mart stores on clearance. Speed Champions Lamborghini's, DC Wonder Woman, Ninjago VS. sets, couple Vidiyo character sets I didn't have, basically anything I could find of interest at 50% off or greater. -
76200 Bro Thor's New Asgard 60283 Holiday Camper Van

Took two new Spider-Man sets and misc previous sets/pieces and many PAB parts, and started MOC-ing a Modular compatible Base of Operations for Spiderman. Obviously, nowhere near complete yet. 76175 Spider-Man's Lair 76174 Spider-Man's Monster Truck 75546 Minion's in Gru's Lab (with my son)

I love these smaller detailed builds. The illusion is an Expert level detail! The building style appears consistent throughout which is doubly impressive being a free build. Well done!

That is decent. It pains me that I, not once but twice, missed out on complete sets for under $65. ========================================================================= I had stopped by a Wal-Mart , so had to make a pass through the Lego aisle, they recently got several of the Speed Champions sets in so I picked up a 76900 Koenigsegg Jesko.

What did you end up paying for that?

76903 Speed Champions C8.R Race Car and 1968 Chevrolet Corvette

Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces

I wants it, I needz it, I MUST HAZ IT!!!! My parts purchasing budget has been severely reduced (due to the insane cost of daycare.) So I might just have to track this down as a small consolation. -
I snagged at a local Target today: 10280 Flower Bouquet (finally) Wile E. Coyote (2) from Looney Tunes Minifigures

I apologize these quotes are out of order. There is so much that is great in this thread. I tried to shorten quotes to what I was quoting. I laughed way too much when reading that. 1. Monochrome minifigures are usually desired to be free of printing, I'm sure that is the primary reason they don't have faces. 2. Adding faces could be construed or misconstrued as assigning/assuming gender etc, easier hurdle to avoid and I love this. And said tongue-in-cheek (idk if that phrase/colloquialism translates for all ), should it be Every Spaceperson is Awesome ? I want to thank you for sharing your opinion, especially knowing the likely negative response and possible repercussions. I can understand your point of view although mine differs. The hardest area to navigate is to express those views without name-calling or demeaning the audience you are trying to reach. Where I may see this as very thoughtful choice of words to explain your beliefs, others may not. I feel this to be the improper response (although it appears to be light-hearted.) Diversity is including people from different social and ethnic backgrounds. In order to grow, we need to be open to dissenting viewpoints, even if they make us uncomfortable. We all can disagree on some things (i.e. I would say Castle sets > Star Wars sets) that doesn't mean we need to respond with sharp words. I think sets like 40516, should open the door more to the possibility of a church set, as it is something that comes from another different (diverse?) background. Chinese New Year sets are bringing a whole new view of cultures I agree, not all people do. I would definitely buy a set named that. I imagine a multitude of awesome minifgures like Lego Movie 2 Sparkle Spa characters, Power Rangers, the song Kung Fu fighting, and a bunch of soul train dancers led by Afro Jack. Ingenious solution! And thank you for sharing about yourself and your feelings on terminology of disabled people vs. people with disabilities. I agree on the sentiment. But not for nothing, people recognizing a color pattern that identifies a movement of people wanting to be seen should be considered a good thing. The goal is not having to hide. I meannnnnnn... you don't know that for sure... Just kidding! I am also looking forward to getting a few, I feel like Lego had the exact goal of making it "not political" I mean... the money always goes to Lego... right? Thank goodness. I dont have any of those, and I really want these sets.. I feel like anyone that has spent time in the AFOL community and meeting people would notice how diverse and colorful the fanbase is and see Simply fantastic. I just wanted to say you have many, many, well-worded and insightful responses in this thread. I appreciate your responses, as I am always learning. Well said. YAY MINNESOTA!!! I agree BLM is primarily a US issue. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - I am not an authority on any of these subjects (except Castle is better than Star Wars ) I would like to believe that people can talk about differences without name-calling or sharp words. I am far from perfect, so I won't be throwing any stones. I strive to learn and understand people. I love to promote positivity and communication and the love of LEGO.

Close but he wants the torso, not the legs. -
I picked up some local Facebook Marketplace deals, a bunch of newer sets used but nearly all complete for $10, and two huge laundry tote-tubs full of all kinds of Star Wars and Jurassic Park sets with some Lord of the Rings and other goodies mixed in for $50. Otherwise, I ordered more Looney Tunes minifigures with my BnP order and scooped up some clearance plush minifigures of Banana Guy and Lloyd at Target.

Latest impact of other themes on historic themes
Rockstaremcee replied to Wardancer's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I was thinking that as well! My goal as soon as we move in to our new house, is to make a large all-encompassing forest. It would be comprised of modified treehouse, forestmen sets, maybe some easter eggs such as Winnie the Pooh and other large tree sets. I plan on leaving room at the outer edges for castles/villages etc. When they come out I should be able to try and mock that up (and MOC it up if it turns out good lol) -

Exactly, LEGO is so broad and diverse now, you make it how you want it. Personally, my current city modular shelves all have road plates on base plates. I'm sure it will change many times in just the next year lol. I'm very excited for the Lions also! -

Thanks for the heads up. That was an unexpected large order I just placed. -
Finished my Barracuda Bay last night and I already have ideas of how I want to modify/expand it. Prior to the last few weeks, I haven't spent much time working on Pirate ships since childhood and this definitely was fun in addition to learning new ways of connecting things. I continually enjoy taking 'a bunch of bricks' and turning them into such beautiful creations. Built 60281 LEGO City Fire Rescue Helicopter for my son and enjoyed the way the helicopter went together, much better than many older designs IMHO. I also thoroughly appreciate how they use the "missile launcher" pieces to shoot blasts of water at the flames. Better "enemy" for him to focus on.

I wish, we don't even seem to get the pre-boxed minifigure selections. Previously, that was my first stop at least once a month. I agree completely. As neat or interesting as many other builds are, they are made to stand alone. I love having all the interwoven aspects of multiple sets all displayed together - much akin to the 90's images displaying all the sets in one large diorama. I will have to go look that up, and support it. Forestmen Forever! I found this to be more of a disadvantage, simply for the time involved. when the employees went and did it for you at least multiple people could have their bricks picked at one time. This makes it so only 3 individuals per hour can get their bricks, if they take their full ~15 mins to pick their bricks + sanitizing time in between. I was buying three large cups, comprised of only 3 parts total, I had to wait while people fished out a few bricks out of every container and then the employees weren't very strict on the time (which I can understand normally) but when people are waiting it really starts to agitate.
