  1. Greencoats!
  2. Thanks! Not sure quite what you mean about the helmet, though Not suggesting the helmet was made during era in the MOC. Roman times happened before Pirate times so ancient helmets may have been antiquities and kept as treasure. Superposition, order of operations, and all that! For example, dinosaur bones found by imperial guards. Anyway, dreams are limitless so the imagination is boundless.
  3. Like @CapOnBOBS, I just joined a few months ago. All of the rules were quite overwhelming from the outside and I still don't have a total handle on them. That said, once you join a faction they'll help guide you. There are some hidden communication methods behind the scenes within factions that will help you strategize as a team. Like @Bregir, I also think Eslandola could probably use the new member most (based on frequency of new faction topics), but you should choose where you want to build the most. Hope to see more of your builds!
  4. In response to some questions from a Facebook share about how the dream cloud is made/attached: The dream cloud part is held in place simply by gravity (it's sitting on the bottom vignette). In retrospect, would have been good to anchor it onto a stud on the corner or something for stability. The dream cloud has a 12x6 footprint and there are SNOT bricks on the 1st and 6th rows of side bricks. The top has a 2x slit left open to let light in
  5. @Spud The Viking - I like your 2/3 slope floor (and kilts!) That's cool @Kai NRG - Those blueys are going to get a headache from all the blood rushing to their heads! @Count Vroskri - Cool SNOT snow base!
  6. Thanks for the consideration!
  7. "The Sea Rat" Granted the room didn't have any windows and the floorboards creaked, but the Sea Rat was grateful his room had solid walls and a real floor this Merrymas season. As he lay back on his bed, he thought about how much more comfortable it was than the stable he’d been hiding out in this time last year. He even had a modicum of privacy! Things were looking up. Still, he daydreamed of riches. Originally debuted as the December 10th entry in the Brethren of the Brick Seas Advent Calendar 2020
  8. Trading places w/ @KotZ - he'll do Dec 12 now! 10th of December
  9. @Darnok - Hoping to see Kotz's creation. Was planning to post my Dec 12 tomorrow, but can do it today if you'd like to move it up. Conversely, excited to see your emergency builds too!
  10. @Brickwolf - Cool build! I like the slanted edges of the vignette and reappearance of the brick-built boots! Glad the 26th Foot and militia are getting on so well
  11. Hey @Brickwolf - Your Dec 11 image on the Advent calendar is broken for me. Looking forward to seeing it when it's fixed!
  12. While General Brickleton (Captain Brickleton's father) has been retired from the Corrington Armed Forces for a few years, he still reports for duty every December. After getting set up on the 3rd floor of the northeast tower of the Headquarters of the Armed Forces in the Corlander capital of Belson, he opens and responds to Merrymas letters from the children of servicemen and women currently abroad. Lieutenant Steeling brings in bags of letters the children have sent to the powers that be, and Brickleton does his best to grant their Merrymas wishes. With a sizeable fortune at his disposal, the retired general often sends attendants off on errands to purchase gifts. Process Photos OOC: Curved wall technique from Isaac. Thanks to @CapOnBOBS for the idea for dark brown / reddish brown furniture. Reposted a few days after first posting in The BotBS Advent Calendar 2020 thread as I wanted to submit it as a free build as well.
  13. After learning of the Onondaga's myths and constellations, Captain Brickleton wrote a note to Elsabeth Stockton detailing the encounter with the medicine man. He arranged for his father, retired General Brickleton, to purchase and deliver a telescope and bottle of port to her family's country retreat outside of Belson. Elsabeth's servant helped her set up the telescope on one of the 7th floor balconies high above the estate's tree tops. From there, she followed Captain Brickleton's notes to find the Onondaga constellations. She enjoyed some port in the night air, and then retired indoors to begin a long letter in reply. OOC: I wanted to try a vignette build where there was a rooftop high up above some trees, and you could only see the treetops. Not sure I pulled it off, but was fun to build.
  14. Love it! I especially like the inset arched windows and woodwork built into the facade at various points. The color nods to the previous builds help cement the picture of the landscape. Hussar's Isle population just tripled
  15. Thanks! The wall technique idea is from Isaac. Green 1x1 tiles were sort of by necessity - I didn't have enough 1x1 white or gold tiles, and tan/bley looked bland... the green was festive at least! Wanted some green/red accents to make it Merrymas-ful. Gave the redcoat green epaulettes
  16. Posted my build up! Once again went with an uppity Belson build, this time featuring part of the headquarters of the armed forces. Excited to see what you guys come up with next - lots of good ideas so far!
  17. 5. December Looking great everyone!
  18. Geoffrey "Fiddlesticks" Cooper was born to be a drummer. As a three year old, he banged wooden porridge spoons on his mother's hearth kettle until she felt she would go mad. As a six year old, he tap-tap-tapped on the neighbor's fence until it fell over. At age 13, his mother sent him to join the Corlander army as a drummer boy. By age 16, he could make his drumroll so smooth he could fool the uninitiated into thinking there was a wasp about. Now at age 22, Fiddlesticks is the best drummer in the 26th Foot and can keep a tempo during the fiercest fighting.
  19. Would definitely get used! Thx!
  20. Would the emoticons created here carry over into the BoBs sub-forum? If so, having bluecoat and redcoat specific ones like @Brickander Brickumnus suggested would be rad! Would be used for friendly taunting out the wazoo I imagine Otherwise, how about a crocodile or imperial flag (similar in size to the skull and crossbones one)? Thanks @Mister Phes
  21. Thanks @Ayrlego - Would be fun to have Captain Brickleton appear as well! If you don't have the toy soldier arms handy, normal red ones are of course fine and Brickwolf did a great job building brick-built boot pants in our recent collab if you don't have the boot pants. The head is the hard part, though - it's from the Series 5 detective minifig. The Merrymas builds are looking good so far! Good work guys!
  22. Thanks @Vilhelm22! The image above is one where I added 2 or 3 more tiles to the grass plates following JintaiZ's feedback - originally it had been a little too bland
  23. It's huge! I love the sloped walls - they'll make it hard for our righteous Corlander forces to breech... but nothing is impossible! It does look like if we can get close enough to shore and scale the rock face, we can just climb in the cannon hatches That's a lot of cannon to get past though. The half-roof/half-deck with cannons toward the rear is fun too Impressive build
  24. Simply spectacular! So cool to see so much vertical build on a regular-ish sized base - gorgeous tree and house facade. The 1x1 round plates on the roofline add some fun ornamentation
