  1. Nice build! Love the floor technique and great colors!
  2. Thanks @Bodi! I made it as a background sky, but it does kind of look like a blue building Because this scene was going to be quite large (had to fit 40 minifigs), I didn't want to use folded paper or a sheet as the background, so the Duplos made sense. Thanks @Mesabi! With three little kids, my family has many, many Duplos so it is tempting to use them to fill space in MOCs. A build from earlier in the summer where I put system bluecoats on a Duplo pirate ship: Little big ship
  3. Haha not intentionally based on something real. I'm sure I would have come up with a better name if I had something to base it on. Wanted to add a premise for them looking still
  4. Hi @Professor Thaum - Yeah, the parapets and portcullis are from 4777! The masonry bricks are from the more recent Duplo Pizza Stand. Our basement floor is covered in Duplo.... This GoC challenge is about "Showing off your redcoats" - the first two I did for the challenge didn't have that many minifigs, so I figured I'd do a bigger one. This past spring I downsized my imperial minifigs from ~650 (400 redcoats, 200 bluecoats, 50 greencoats) down to about 120 total (90 redcoats, 20 bluecoats, 10 greencoats). That many redcoats and bluecoats was too many and was only necessary for huge Napoleonic battles . This MOC is the most I've included in one display in a while, and it's only like ~40. I like the classic torsos way better than the new ones. So, in an effort to emphasize quality over quantity, as my sons transitioned from Duplo to Lego I gave my 6yo 50 redcoats and my 4yo 50 bluecoats. I sold the rest off. I think the rarest items in 2020 in the pic above are probably the Imperial Governor torsos and hats? I had 24 of the governor before the purge, and have pruned that down to 10. Some of the other items (like the black boot legs from Sushi Chef, the tricornes with white, decorated pirate bicornes, etc) you can find pretty readily on BrickLink.
  5. Super cool! I love the water movement effect.
  6. Thanks! I've cropped out the baseplate/table from the first pic per your suggestion.
  7. Task 1 - Redcoats Rule! 3 - Parade Preparation
  8. Great parades are planned for the Corlander capital of Belson in the lead up to hostilities with Oleon. As preparation for the parades, soldiers of the 26th Foot undergo the ritual of "Absolute Stillness". Under the close watch of senior officers, the company must remain absolutely still - they may not make a single movement. The company that can remain motionless for the longest period of time receives the honor of vanguard position in the parade.
  9. Unit Name: 18th Regiment of Hussars 'The Lightfoot' Unit Type: Light Cavalry - Hussars Picture: Description: The Lightfoot Cavalry consists of one regiment of Hussars. Mounted exclusively on large white horses, these troopers ride with exceptional skill and speed, and have a reputation for good humor among allies. Their speed and riding prowess are the source of their nickname "The Lightfoot". Uniforms are red with white belts, gold trim, yellow epaulettes, and black riding boots. Large black bicorne hats are worn front-to-back. Hussars utilize long sharp sabers to extend their reach to opponents on the ground. 10. Gorgeous in a stark deserty way - lots of good dry brush tones and landscape complexity. That's a cool vulture!
  11. Amazing build! The colors are festive and help it pop, and as others have noted, the jagged stone floor is a creative use of pieces!
  12. Looking good. The green siding, custom door, uniform legs with boots, and big road pavers help the otherwise simple architecture pop. Good collection of mustaches!
  13. Loving the accordion!
  14. Task 1 - Redcoats Rule! 2 - Archery Lessons
  15. After meeting the two Onondaga warriors earlier in the week at his cabin, Captain Brickleton invited them to camp to meet the soldiers. The Onondaga put on an impromptu show of marksmanship with the bow and arrow at the edge of camp. Captain Brickleton invited the warriors to give the soldiers of the 26th Foot and colonial militia a series of archery lessons. The Onondaga gladly accepted. While the Corlander soldiers were well-trained with muskets and sabers, Brickleton figured it couldn't hurt to have them learn a new skill from expert teachers.
  16. The sewing machine and spools of cloth are so cool! Good work
  17. Looks great @Ayrlego! I love those BrickArms cavalry sabers - we should adopt them as official Corrish equipment
  18. Thanks @Bregir - I've submitted this as task 1 of GoC. RE: water flatness, there are some cool-looking waves a little farther out to sea in this build, but the shots that included the waves unfortunately included too much of my other background buildings that were "out of scope"
  19. Task 1: Redcoats Rule! 1 - Arrival at Elizabethville @Bregir - thanks for pointing me toward GoC! Cool idea. Since this one is already out there, do I need to change the title to have [GoC] at the beginning? It changes the URL and search results, etc :D
  20. Gorgeous! Love the matching colors throughout (pants & water, flag & brick, etc). Looks a little bit like a rocket ship, but not in a bad way :)
  21. Hi Greg - Seems like people are OK with custom or clone brick items being used. I imagine there would be issues including non-brick elements like Playmobil, etc though... I recently used BrickWarriors hats, BrickArms sabers, and BrickForge muskets with some new Corrington troops: https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/180296-a-compendium-of-corlander-military-units/&do=findComment&comment=3308250
  22. Thanks - I was going for a pseudo-slate roof
  23. A MOC showing Elizabethville militiamen cleaning Fort di Legno A Seventeen Point Plan
  24. "A Seventeen Point Plan" With the unrest occurring on Terraversa, Captain Brickleton wanted to make sure Elizabethville was prepared for any unplanned action. He detailed a seventeen point preparation plan for Fort di Legno and worked with Second Lieutenant Bolton of the militia to have his militiamen implement it. Along with more strategic defensive improvements, Captain Brickleton and Second Lieutenant Bolton oversee a militiaman scrubbing the palisade walls with soapy water. The difference is immediately noticeable.
  25. Thanks! I have another MOC planned that'll have inside shots.
