[COR- TROOP] An Unexpected Halt
evancelt replied to Edmund Babbington's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Love to see all those marching redcoats! -
Without a harbor in Elizabethville, the ship carrying Captain Brickleton and his mixed company of 26th Foot and 18th Hussars couldn't get that close in. Anchored offshore, smaller boats ferried the men, horses, and supplies to the dock and beach in front of Fort di Legno. Arriving on the first boat, Captain Brickleton was greeted by Second Lieutenant Bolton of the Elizabethville Colonial Militia at the stockade fort. After introductions, together they went to retrieve the manager of the nearby stables. Returning with a few stablehands, they helped guide the frightened horses from the shallows inland. Following the chaotic yet successful disembarkment, Bolton gave Captain Brickleton a tour of the stockade. As the new ranking officer in Elizabethville, Captain Brickleton was keen to start off on the right foot. He left Bolton, who was clearly very proud of the smallish wooden fort, in command of the stockade and began to move his men inland to set up camp. A troop raising build for Elizabethville.

A Compendium of Corlander Military Units
evancelt replied to Ayrlego's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Unit Name: 26th Regiment of Foot 'Hawarden Regiment' Unit Type: Light Infantry Picture: Description: The Hawarden Regiment originated in colder climes and is easily distinguished by their brown epaulettes, company-specific gold-decorated shakos, and black boots. While still sporting red uniforms, the 26th is the first regiment to opt for brown epaulettes "for camoflauge". Thanks. The arms come from Crazy Bricks. They have at least 3 or 4 different shapes available in a full spectrum of colors. I have the straight arms and curved arms in red and blue.

Thanks! I wanted to keep the number of figs to a minimum (duelers and seconds) because duels are outlawed and you don't want too many witnesses! Gonna post some big army MOCs soon

"The Duel" To determine a matter of honor (a crass comment made about the number of plumes in a bicorne), the two generals headed to the clearing before dawn by lantern light. As the sun rises, their seconds look on with a mix of excitement and apprehension.

I think what is in the mail is 5x the bottom middle section, 2 of the end bottom bow pieces, and 2 of the ribbed bow pieces. It looks like that's pretty much what you used, except you only used the ribbed bow piece on the front (not on the back)?

Looking good! I have some of those white hulls coming tomorrow and will use this as a reference

Looks great! I love the method of using hands to make the flintlocks rest on their shoulders. I was also wondering how to make that work - will try your method!

Recently stationed in the north of Corrington, Captain Brickleton receives orders to gather his company of infantry and light cavalry and to head south to the port at Belson. With the season changing and the cold winds beginning to blow, he is most ready to head south. While he had distinguished himself as a tactician and leader in past engagements, indiscretions with a general's daughter have stunted his career prospects. He looks on his new orders as a chance to get back in his superiors' good graces. He suspects upon reaching Belson he will learn that he is being sent to the Sea of Thieves to support Colonel Sir Dirk Allcock. Time will tell. He also looks forward to seeing his father, a retired general, when he returns to Belson. Captain Brickleton has his men break camp and form up to begin the long march south. I'm writing to introduce you to Captain Brickleton. Currently stationed in the north of Corrington, he recently received orders to gather his company of infantry and light cavalry and to head south to the port at Belson. With the season changing and the cold winds beginning to blow, he is most ready to head south. While he had distinguished himself as a tactician and leader in past engagements, indiscretions with a general's daughter have stunted his career prospects. He looks on his new orders as a chance to get back in his superiors' good graces. -
Redcoat officer. Hat from Hector Barbossa, wig from Revolutionary Soldier, arms from Toy Soldier, torso from Imperial Admiral, legs from Sushi Chef
-
Still seems very stable, though time will tell if it stretched out or not. It stays put (doesn't immediately detach or move around). Seems plenty sturdy (plastic is thick).
-
Interchangeable Hat Wig. Got the idea from Captain Becker. He glued his together - I left mine separate so I can reuse it for different color combos. Wanton destruction aside, I think the prototype turned out pretty well. 1 down, 10 to go! UPDATE: Added some pics of Imperials

Updated to include blue donald duck arms w/ goal cuffs. I didn't have much luck finding other colors with cuffs (brown, gray, etc). There are some white arms with gray cuffs: https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=981982pb147&idColor=1#T=S&C=1&O={"color":1,"iconly":0}

Didn't want to post about this until I had my supply chain intact, but now orders are placed and arms are in the mail :D Have any of you experimented with adding arms with cuff decoration to denote officer rank on imperials? I ordered some of each of these and will post pics when they arrive. For redcoats, toy soldier arms (gold bands) and captain hook arms (white): https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=981982pb017&idColor=5#T=S&C=5&O={"color":5,"iconly":0} https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=981982pb083&idColor=5#T=S&C=5&O={"color":5,"iconly":0} For dark blue redcoat navy, dark blue arms from ship captain: https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=981982pb015&idColor=63#T=S&C=63&O={"color":63,"iconly":0} For bluecoats, blue arms from bespin guard (brown) and donald duck (yellow): https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=981982pb002&idColor=7#T=S&C=7&O={"color":7,"iconly":0} https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=981982pb079&idColor=7#T=S&C=7&O={"color":7,"iconly":0} In general, I think the bespin guard might work well as a cavalry fig (with a different hat and epaulette): https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?M=sw0150#T=S&O={"iconly":0} For greencoats, dark green arms from hoodie guy: https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=981982pb153&idColor=80#T=S&C=80&O={"color":80,"iconly":0}

Thanks! I was trying something new with this cannon flame - I gave it a red tail! You can see up close there is a trans red rod in a clear round brick coming out of the smoke

Thanks! All of my normal tan plates and normal white bricks are set aside for a big Imperial Fort I'm making, so it was fun to use the remaining dark tan / yellow plates for something
