  1. Lots of good details in the compact space! I really like the flagpole with string attached to it. Those perfect caliber muskets look great! I agree with Bregir that things seem a bit square, but that doesn't detract from the story and feeling of the build. A for GoC from me
  2. Fastest way Ive found to remove print is an electric eraser made for arts and craft. They spin small pencil erasers around like a drill bit - very rapid removal!
  3. I've seen these on AE as well. I'm going to get some to try out. Since they are static voltages, looks like you can get three "speeds" (5v, 9v, 12v) I'm a big fan of using USB because extension wires are so cheap that I don't mind leaving them embedded in MILS plates
  4. Hoping now that @CapOnBOBS is back posting builds that means there is a return of leadership!
  5. Thanks @ScotNick and @SD100 - I tried a few more things this evening to get it to work First, I tried replacing the full axles with half-axles to allow the wheels to spin independently. This helped a little, but it still didn't make the curves. Next, I tried replacing the technic flex with a pair of 13L liftarms and it still didn't make the curves. So I tried taking the outer piston rod off, and it made the curve. So then I tried adding back the technic flex on one side only using 3/4 pins to connect it, and it didn't make the curve. However, once I replaced the 3/4 pins I was using with full pins, it did make it (using the technic flex). I believe the 3/4 pins weren't allowing for enough lateral movement. So currently I only have the piston rod on one side and only the blind driver is a full axle, but that will be good enough for a show! Thanks
  6. Thanks @Ayrlego!
  7. Agreed - thanks a favorite for me too!
  8. "Imperialists" Putting together some Roman soldiers for an upcoming CoWLUG collaboration. Inspired by a recent build by Hunter Erickson.
  9. Thanks @LEGO Train 12 Volts & @Brick86! It'll get incorporated into a mountain range as part of an upcoming western display
  10. Thanks guys! I'll give your suggestions a try later this week and report back what works! Some other thoughts I had were: 1) adding rubber bands to one side's wheels to allow the other side to slide more freely or 2) swapping the flanged wheels from the back or front with the middle blind wheels to shorten the wheelbase that is in catching on the track corners.
  11. Hi all - I am working on a Thomas TTE MOC based on @ScotNick's design. As I was building out some passenger cars for it yesterday I decided to try running the Thomas MOC on some 9V track. I positioned the trains as such: Thomas --> Passenger --> Passenger --> 9v motor (caboose location) When the technic flex wheel connectors are in place, it bogs down in the corners of a R40 loop. With the wheel connectors removed it makes it through. I tried with the passenger cars removed and it happens in that case as well. The wheel connectors are offset 90 degrees on the two sides of the train as I've read that would help. I can just remove the technic flex cable at shows to run the MOC, but is there a way to keep it on the train and have it successfully make the corners? Would a more rigid wheel connector function better? Thanks!
  12. Started on some passenger cars for Thomas to pull
  13. A whisky distillery has been built in Wullham, large factory, BricksByPidy
  14. Excellent job @Bricksbypidy! I love how the lavenders that you integrated into the landscape make it look all highland-y. I will license this as a large factory for Wullham, which should be the final license needed to move Wullham up to the next town size! Thanks Make sure you fill out the build submittal form so that you get some build DB during the next accounting!
  15. Thanks! I think it is a fun greenish color, too. Looking on Bricklink looks like the light lime came from some 2005 Belville sets
  16. Excellent job @Bricksbypidy! You captured @Ayrlego's architecture from the Queenston barracks build nicely and added some great figure posing!
  17. Ignacio Verde had done it! He had mapped the entire area surrounding Damaborg. He grabbed a bottle of rum and headed to the beach. With rum stores running low and the next supply ships not due into port for another few weeks, he should probably ration the bottle a bit. Ah, what will be will be. ---------- OOC: A quick build in Damaborg ( @Maxim I) to highlight some new light lime 1x2 plates I made by sawing the bars off some modified plates. The bracket palm trunk is inspired by one I saw pinecone_eagle_man on Instagram make.
  18. This MILS modular motorized LEGO waterfall runs on three medium power function motors This modular was built as part of an upcoming CoWLUG Western collaboration
  19. Welcome @Bricksbypidy! Glad to have you on board! Like @Professor Thaum said, while Corrington is styled after Great Britain it isn't GB Your story would work 100% if you just changed 'Great Britain' to 'Corrington' in your intro. Soon @Ayrlego or @Bregir will add you to the various Corrington private chats so you can see the inner workings of the faction.
  20. Looking forward to seeing that one out there!
  21. I bet some of our German BOBS members could hook you up! @Darnok @Brickwolf
  22. Thanks! The chassis is technically 7-wide I think (made it hard to build it symmetrically!) Planning a trans-pink mineral mine off to the right of this scene. You can start to see the pink pieces in the wall there
  23. Hi everyone! I'm Evan and I live in Colorado, USA. I mainly make Pirate and Western MOCs, but my LUG (CoWLUG) participates in multiple train shows every year so I'm getting into trains too! I recently invested in some 9V track and motors, and am working on a Thomas the Tank Engine MOC and layout as well as a Stevenson Rocket MOC. Planning to make the display very detailed so that it's fun to show at the Train Expos. Looking forward to learning more about trains!
