10337 Lamborghini Countach Discussion
DanOfBricks replied to Vilhelm22's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I'm wondering if they will give this set a new front windshield mold? I would also like to see the big wide back tires and the narrow width front tires. No 25th Anniversary edition as that is considered to be one of the ugliest Countach's that were ever released by Lamborghini. -
Man, either LEGO has found a way to keep a tighter lid on CITY(minus the excavator set) or ppl just don't want to talk much about leaks. Maybe a calm before a big Summer Sets storm?
-
You can purchase a variety 6 pack of thin road plates from Amazon for $26. They fit well with LEGO buildings and such. The road lines actually look better using yellow centered lines. Only difference from the originals, is middle lines(as I said they are yellow) and the plates have a glossy color. Apostrophe is the name of the brand.
-
If LEGO is phasing out the thicker road plates, then that would tell me they weren't selling as well as LEGO thought they would. So does that mean they will bring back the thin road plates? It will be interesting to see if no more thick road plate pieces are included in sets, if it reduces the price of sets at all.

Just a theory. One of the Construction Workers seems to be holding a blue print lego type piece. Could it be linked with the Crane set maybe including a building structure, as it has been done before?
-
I know the City Construction releases for Summer are not talked about much, but just thought I mention that on Brick Clicker's latest YouTube video LEGO Leaks revealed a bit hazy pic of the Heavy Duty Excavator set. It appears to include 3 construction workers(one appears to have head phone construction helmet and jackhammer), 2 construction type barriers(with white/red forward slash type sticker patterns unless it's a print), and some lego pieces for dirt/debris. Taking a snapshot was too big of a file to post here, so here's the Brick Clicker vid. You can jump to the 12:20 mark to see the hazy leaked pic.

What magazine? If a Lego City Magazine, what issue? Or do you have a pic of it?

Regarding: 60409 Yellow Mobile Construction Crane / 1116 Pieces / $109.99 60420 Yellow Construction Excavator / 633 Pieces / $49.99 I think both these sets have more to it than just a big mobile crane and excavator(I think this one will have tracks on it and not wheels like the 2 previous(one came with a transport truck and the other with a dump truck). The 60324 Mobile Crane from 2022 had 340 pieces and retailed for $40. The 7249 XXL Crane from 2005 had 524 pieces and retailed for $70. The 7905 Building Crane had 721 pieces and retailed for $70 as well. My guess is this yellow construction crane will be something similar to set 7633 Construction Site(it had a somewhat big mobile crane in the set) from 2009, which had 889 pieces and retailed for $100. The 7248 Digger from 2005, had 127 pieces and retailed for $20. The 4203 Excavator Transporter from 2012 had 305 pieces and retailed for $40. The 60075 Excavator and Truck from 2015 had 311 pieces and retailed for $50. I think this one comes with Dump Truck of some sort and I hope there is a new excavator bucket mold(that front loader bucket mold used was just wrong to use for an excavator). For both sets, it just doesn't make any sense on a LEGO City level for either of them to be standalone's with those piece counts of 1116 and 633.

Okay with all the City sets leaked pics for January 1st, what could we possibly see for City in the Summer/Winter?

Lego City 2023 Leaks, Rumours, Speculation And Discussion
DanOfBricks replied to Powered by Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
Here are some other pics of the Backhoe. They give it a forklift attachment, but they couldn't give it a new backhoe shovel mold! Digger means backhoe or excavator shovel, not a front loader! LEGO can be really dumb and not know the terminology they use in their set names! https://www.lego.com/en-us/kids/sets/city/construction-digger-4ad0bad3f0a959fd5ce2454d0cb122b9 -

Took forever to release a new backhoe(1991), but they didn't give it a backhoe shovel or rigger lifts! The 2 previous releases had them. Once again LEGO cuts corners/leaves details out. -

Any idea the set #, when it will be released and when might a seller sell it on bricklink? -
Lego City 2022 Rumours, Leaks, Information And Discussion
DanOfBricks replied to Powered by Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
It's basically a mini front loader(picture like a John Deer Tractor Mower but with a Front Loader). Farmers and people with a large fenced backyard for horses/livestock , would use a compact tractor. I just hope it's not red colored like the Farm Tractor Loader we got last year. Would like to have it in a green or blue color. -

Wondering if this is the set that got 10k votes for LEGO IDEAS, that has the side-lift arm to pick up the trash/recycle bins? I looked it up, a Wheel Loader is basically another name for a Front Loader on wheels. They should have just came out with a Front Loader Backhoe, as it has been over 30 years since they did so. I will still get the Wheel Loader because I'm for Construction sites/scenes in my City. -

Lego City 2022 Rumours, Leaks, Information And Discussion
DanOfBricks replied to Powered by Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
I have the original LEGOLAND Public Works Center 6383 set from 1981. So it's ongoing of 41 years that there hasn't been a construction company set. Obviously in the minority, but LEGO CITY's direction is a mess. New sets being released are either driven by their animated shows or are just sets that don't sell well(because the idea is just silly and a attempted money grab). LEGO CITY needs to stop pumping out Police, Firefighters, Police chases, etc. sets every year. Come out with some good Police and Fire station sets letting those sit well with LEGO Fans. Let us get back to roots like Construction, Farming, Parks/Camping, etc. Most of all, stop cutting corners with so many sets. They are giving us less and making the cost more! -

We need new road construction machine sets. Would like to see a dump truck/front loader backhoe(with a newly introduced digger arm shovel and smaller molded hydraulic cylander pieces) combo set with 4 workers and some construction barricades. -
Lego City 2022 Rumours, Leaks, Information And Discussion
DanOfBricks replied to Powered by Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
LEGO just doesn't make up colors for vehicle/machines. They base it off colors of real vehicles/machines. It works for the mobile crane, but sorry not for other construction machines. LEGO would never make that color scheme a standard for construction machines. -

DanOfBricks replied to Powered by Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
Blue/Yellow works for the mobile crane, but it wouldn't look right for other construction machines. Maybe you could do it with a cement mixer, but not with the other construction machines I mentioned. The dark yellow should be applied to the other construction machines if they release new ones. The lighter yellow color just looks outdated. -

DanOfBricks replied to Powered by Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
I'm with you on that. A lot of the construction sets are outdated. There hasn't been much other than the recent mobile crane and skid loader. A new dump truck, backhoe, excavator, front loader, cement mixer, high rise crane and road construction crew would be nice. Maybe have some of those combined in a high rise building set that just has steel framing structure. The USA needs infrastructure fixed and rebuilt. It would be a nice theme to bring back to LEGO City. Kids always like construction machines, as that goes through generation to generation. -

A Front Loader Backhoe with a Dump Truck, would be a good construction set to release. Price it around $50-60 that includes some workers, construction tools and new road plate pieces. The mobile crane is good, but the cement mixer I don't count because that was a 4+ set. -
New LEGO Speed Champions 2022 Rumors, Speculation
DanOfBricks replied to Bartlomiej's topic in LEGO Town
This is just speculation on my part. With SC 2022 being so secretive and rumors that it could be delayed, I'm wondering if the Lamborghini Countach could be a 2 car set(with both the original and the new one)? I'm also wondering, if the March release is still on time, then why hasn't there been any sort of leaked pics by now?- 488 replies

Lego City 2021 Rumours, information and discussion

Just saw the new Modern Family House with the road plate, is $60 and not $50. I'm not sure I'm gonna get it now because I think $60 is way too much. -
[MOC] Backhoe Loader / JCB with Prototype Bucket
DanOfBricks replied to LennyRhys's topic in LEGO Town
This is my own design of a JCB 3CX 14. I have made some changes since this pic with a gray backhoe shovel, black roof and outside mirrors for the cab. What do you all think?
