LEGO Star Wars 2021 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!

Yup. If you buy any set in between them, or don't buy them in that order, you have to start over without cancelling your previous orders. You also have to order 66 copies of the new X-34 snowspeeder, a T-47 snowspeeder in the colors of Luke's Landspeeder, retailing for $50 each. As @Eaglefan344 said, if you like the new one more, get it and sell the old one. Retired LSW is super expensive, especially UCS sets. -
These are great, you've really captured what they'd look like in that era. Reminds me of that guy who tried to do the entire star wars trilogy in lego back in the late 80s/early 90s. That A-wing is great, though your solution to the sides might be a bit advanced for 1986-lego still hasn't figured out that they can angle bricks for the wings on their system-scale A-wings!

If the fakes are good enough that several eurobricks members own them, have examined them, and believe them to be real, with the little lego logos and whatnot, we might as well give up on buying anything off bricklink or ebay, because it means fakers have created fake lego that's impossible to identify.

No, no. It'll be a VIP promo if you buy, in consecutive orders: Microfighter landspeeder ($9.99), Luke's landspeeder ($34.99), Constraction Luke's landspeeder ($89.99): UCS Luke's Landspeeder ($399.99). Life-sized Luke's Landspeeder ($999,999.99) like a 95% likelihood, it's been confirmed by reliable leakers. -
Instead of arguing the possibilities of how lego employees could mold vaders or debating legal consequences, I just googled this to see if anyone actually bought any to prove whether or not they were legit, and @just2good has a video where he bought and reviewed the helmets. They definitely seem to be legitimate lego molds.

I think we may have the same overall point. My argument was meant to show that a $200 gunship wouldn't be "minifigure scale", and if you really wanted to get it at that size, it'd have to be $250-300. (The $350 price point means it's most likely still upscaled a bit). I thought you were saying it was lego's fault that they didn't produce a $200, minifig-scale gunship with a large amount of figures, not the fan's fault for expecting it, and I was trying to show why that wasn't really possible for lego to do because of both the size constraints and the inherent flaw in "minifig-scale". As for it including 7+ figures, I came to a different conclusion based on your examples. Slave one really just has a crew of one and some other figures along with it. The falcon is a bit trickier given the difference between crew and passengers being blurred, and I think being $800 may have had something to do with the figure count, but even if we count it as coming with a full crew+ extra figures and disregard the price, it's still in the minority. The shuttle doesn't actually have any crew, technically speaking. It's supposed to be piloted by a black-suited imperial pilot and co-pilot, but instead came with a grey-suited officer, vader, luke, and a stormtrooper. The gunship, like you said, would have a larger crew, 4-6, plus whatever other figures they wanted to include. And most UCS vehicles in the past 6-7 years only have a couple figures, usually the pilot of the craft (or as close as you can get to a pilot in the case of a star destroyer) and a related character if applicable, such as an astromech for the y-wing, officer for the star destroyer, or gunner for the snowspeeder. It seemed pretty likely to me at least that a UCS gunship would be a large build with a few figures, though if that rumored list is true I was wrong on what figures (I expected a gunner and pilot plus a fan vote figure either being jedi bob or some clone variant; the list claims it'll be a captain and mace). That was my point, sorry if it wasn't clear. I calculated "minifig scale" mathematically and then showed how based on the amount of troops it holds in-universe, such a thing is impossible. -

There's a few different ways to go off scale, so I did a bit of math here. Height/length: The 2013 set is roughly 47 studs long. The LAAT/i is roughly 60 ft long (and, fun fact, cost 85,000 credits). The average clone trooper is exactly 6ft tall, and the basic clone trooper figure (without a helmet) is 5 studs tall. So with 1 stud=5/6ft, meaning a minifig scale gunship should be 72 studs long. That means the vehicle needs to be 1.5x longer for 1.3x the cost, assuming lego keeps the same value. This is within the realm of possibility, I guess, but not all that likely. Figure/trooper compliment. This isn't a usual method of determining scale, but seeing as the LAAT's primary purpose is to transport clones, I though we'd see how it stacks up: The LAAT should be able to fit 30 passengers, a pilot, co-pilot, and 2 gunners. This is....not even close with the 2013 lego model, which can barely fit 12 passengers if you fold out the bubble turrets, and even then the doors have trouble closing. So it would have to be much bigger, and consequently much more expensive than $200, to fit even 20 passengers, much less 30. Yeah, a disturbing amount of people expected this to have something like a full complement of troopers and passengers. -

I still can't believe it's been this long since the last gunship and AT-TE, even longer between system gunships probably, due to this UCS one coming out . Finally bit the bullet and bought parts for the 2013 one. I think that 2 y-wings within 2 years would be OK considering they're different color schemes and the republic y-wing does have some big design changes from the resistance one (covered engines, gunner seat, different cockpit shape, etc). Especially when you consider we did get 5 x-wings in 6 years. Love the whole list, but I'm singling out these two because 1: I'm going to try mocing the Ebon Hawk as part of a gaming moc wave 2: did you mean Malek or is there another sith with a similar name (not a joke, I didn't know malek and malgus were different people until last year) and 3: the swamp speeder has to be my personal favorite on the list, it'd be the perfect vehicle for a $30 army builder! I'll do an army builder concept too, one for each faction. For the most part, I either did 4 troopers of the main faction and 1-2 droids of the opposing faction for factions with enemy droids, or 5 main faction troopers for those without enemy droids. Mandalorian heroes is an exception because Djin doesn't yet have an army. Republic: Clone troopers ($29.99): accurately sized AT-RT and a republic barricade with E-web. Comes with 3x p2 shinies and 1x p2 coruscant guard, as well as 2 b2 battle droids. Separatists: Battle droids ($29.99): Small battle droid troop transport with a STAP. Comes with 4x b1 battle droid (one with a spare commander head), 2x b2 battle droid, and 2 p1 shiny clones. Mandalorians: Mandalorian Clans ($29.99): Similar to the 2011/2020 pack builds, but the speeder isn't rusty and the terrain/turret is larger. Comes with 1 red armor mandalorian, 1 blue armor mandalorian, 1 brown armor mandalorian, and one black armor mandalorian. Scum and Villainy (they're on the way to a wretched hive ): Bounty Hunters ($29.99): Rusted X-34 landspeeder with a repeating blaster jury-rigged to the hood. Comes with 2x human bounty hunters, 1x nikto guard, 1x trandoshan tracker, and 2 IG units (one DBG and one LBG). Rebels: Rebellion soldiers ($29.99): ESB rebel tank (I think there was one in an old hoth battle pack, it's a real canon vehicle) with a bit of Yavin base. Comes with 3x rebel fleet trooper, 1x rebel captain (like captain antilles), and 2x KX-series droid. Empire: Imperial troopers ($29.99): Turbolaser turret and 74-Z speeder. Comes with 3x stormtroopers (one has a commander pauldron) and a scout trooper, as well as a probe droid and rebel astromech droid. Clan of Two ($29.99 main characters, because Din Doesn't have an army...yet): Mando's speeder bike and a small tatooine hut with Beskar Mando, Cara Dune, Boba Fett, Fennec Shand, and 2x dark trooper. Remnant: Remnant stormtroopers ($29.99): Some Navarro terrain with an E-web and a 74-Z speeder bike, as well as 3x remnant stormtrooper, 1x remnant scout trooper and 1x incinerator stormtrooper. Resistance: Resistance forces ($29.99): 12 Com Turret and speeder bike with 3x resistance trooper and 1x ovissian gunner, as well as a brick-built first order security droid. First Order: First Order troopers ($29.99): MTV-7 and some of the starkiller base with a first order banner. Comes with 3x first order stormtrooper and 2x first order snowtrooper. -
You can't paint something to make it translucent if it was opaque to begin with. There are probably tons of fakes floating around, but there are some genuine lego ones as well. If you want to buy some, ask for better images from the seller to see if you can find the little lego logos on the top of the neck pin, stuff like that.

Yeah, I think everyone who responded on this forum weren't under the illusion it would have tons of figures. I think you're right that EB tends to be more reasonable. In that case it might be more a question of how many voters were just wanting a prequel UCS or UCS gunship or "eurobricks voters" and how many were voting and either not planning on buying or expecting an unreasonable number of figures or "Youtube voters". In that case, asking on this forum will result in a flawed sample. I'm not sure how one would go about trying to figure this out, as eurobricks also tends to have less commenters than youtube/instagram/etc, so you couldn't just average the votes. I had the same reasoning. I want a gunship (I'm waiting for shipments of parts to finish the 2013 model), but a system one, not a UCS one. -

Alright! New thread, new list! spoilers are to conserve comment space, but don't actually contain spoilers for anything past mando's first season. I like @ArrowBricks's idea, so here's a few sets for every major star wars property: And this is another one I was thinking of, I think it would be cool if they did 18+ sets of large, brick-built faction symbols with the main cast of each faction, so here are some: -

Did you vote for the gunship by any chance? I've had a theory that a lot of gunship voters won't buy the set because they didn't realize it'd most likely be larger than system scale and not have a ton of figures, and I want to see if I can start getting some sample stats on that. I'm very happy with the changes, they sound great! Lots of streamlining and clarification on the different threads. -

Honestly we really only need three clone helmets. One p1, one p2, and a cody (for the visor). The sets just need to include some spare parts/stickers to represent different legions. I would say that screen time in an animated show isn't equivalent to screen time in a film. More people still know boba than rex. -
Me too! It seemed like such a no-brainer for them to make one for the october wave; the other merchandise companies were doing JFO stuff and they had a $20 set slot they could have easily had been a Cal/Trilla duel. But instead we got...the death star cannon...and no fallen order set despite it being much more popular than, say, resistance. They even gave some clearly false reason about the rating when asked. (No way the rating was holding them back, it's the equivalent rating to the films, and unlike the films, humans don't lose limbs.) Maybe when the sequel releases next year we'll get some sets.

Original IP's like City and Ninjago tend to leak a fair bit earlier than stuff like star wars, unfortunately. I guess the Eternals sets leaked a few months ago and aren't releasing until, what, fall 2021? But that's due to covid delaying the film. Yeah, the statue and helmets are supposed to release in a month or two, they should definitely be leaking in the next few weeks. -

Come to think of it, chirrut and snoke have them too. Chirrut's blind so it kind of makes sense (though it still feels like his eyes are a bit big, and IMO the head makes him look too young anyway), but there's no reason for snoke to have them. At this point in the war maul's prosthetic legs are a more normal height and look basically just like shiny humanoid legs, so I think that normal minifig legs still work. I think the solo figure is the best maul so far, and they could basically just slap the TPM torso on that figure and call it a day. Completely agree on the wookie gunship being a poor idea for a set (as far as I'm aware they never even intended for it to appear in other episodes). For sabine, I think she really did need arm printing, as her arms in season one have a colored shoulder plate, then exposed upper arms and long black vambraces with paint flecks. That really can't be done well in any single color arm, though dual molded arms with the upper part being shoulder armor and the lower part being skin may have worked. Same here, I'd add that at least for me, when the actor/actress playing the character has their face exposed, it feels more accurate for them to have a normal head with molded headgear than a completely new mold, as it'd make them look less lego-like. -

For some reason the female alien jedi don't usually get pupils, even if they're based off the films. As @Guyon2002 says, we get new parts all the time, I just don't think they'll update a character a year later with dual-molded legs for a cheaper set. -

The cartoony style is gone, at least for faces. Sometimes the armor is slightly changed, but it still looks similar enough to the films (example being that ahsoka isn't in the cartoon style in the AAT, and the troopers, while a new design, are much closer to movie accuracy than the old TCW troopers.) This isn't going to happen, I'm 99.9% certain they wouldn't add dual molded legs, they'll use the ahsoka from last year. -

I don't think so, those would be some pretty small legs, even for a 4+ version of the vehicle. This is correct. The May UCS is R2, the fall UCS is the AT-AT, and the gunship is like an "extra" UCS because of the fan vote, coming after R2. The vignette is the lars homestead, I believe. I believe we'll have pics for the non-ucs may sets anytime from two weeks to a month from now, but UCS sets have managed to avoid having leaked images recently, so it's unlikely we'll see the R2 until a few days before it releases. I don't remember off the top of my head when the summer wave releases, but I'd guess we'd get leaked images around two months before they release. -

Yeah, echo and crosshair are close. I would prefer echo, as like you said it's got other uses, but I wouldn't complain if crosshair got one instead. Really I'd only complain if Tech doesn't get a new mold. Hey, I use that part for war machine too! I think Wrecker would benefit from that part, though the clips on the back are pretty brittle. I think we're on the same page, now. The uncertainty isn't that the source was unreliable, it's..extraneous circumstances for the other thing, to put it in a way that's as unlikely as possible to restart the argument. -

No, I see it, the open visor means you can put a goggled head under it to get the right look. I agree they'd never do it (I don't think they have the molds anymore), but it would be pretty cool. As for helmet need overall, here's my ranking after studying the designs. Hunter (can use p2)< Wrecker (can use imp cadet or new iron man) < Crosshair (can use ARC helmet, but I don't know if they've still got the molds, and it wouldn't work with a p2 helmet) < Echo (could use p2, but for best accuracy a new mold would be nice) < Tech (literally cannot be done to lego's standards without a new mold). -
I think we might actually be getting the first one, as there's an 18+ "meditation chamber" that's supposedly over $100. I do hope we get more, though. I'm a big fan of the current star wars games, so I think my next wave that I MOC up will be a gaming wave. It'll be mostly based on the canon games: The Battlefront series reboot, Squadrons, and Fallen Order, with the non-canon KOTOR and a smidge of SWGOH thrown in because KOTOR may be canon soon, and the lore is just amazing. Please let me know your suggestions for any changes/additions/redactions I should make, I'd love some feedback for my choices before I start building. First off, I love @MaximillianRebo's idea for how to adapt squadrons, and I've got some more detailing for it. The series would include: Microfighters: The Corvus (Battlefront 2, $9.99): iden Versio (rebel). The Mantis (Fallen Order, $9.99): Greez Ditruis. TIE reaper vs x-wing (Squadrons, $19.99): Shen and Vanguard five (look based on the first trailer). Battle Packs: 87th sentinel corps (Battlefront 2, $14.99): 3x p2 87th corps trooper (slightly new helmet mold with holes for visor), 1x p2 87th aerial trooper. Build is a barricade with an E-web. The set would also include a few kamas, pauldrons, and visors to change the troopers from the basic "assault" class to the Heavy, Officer, or Specialist classes. Resistance troopers (Battlefront 2 ,$14.99): 2x resistance trooper (one officer and one specialist class), 1x caphex spy, 1x ovissian gunner. Build is a bit of Ajan Kloss terrain with a capital supremacy command post. Duel: Duel on Zeffo (Fallen Order, $19.99): Small build of Cal's second duel with the second sister, coming with Cal Kestis (bracca outfit and poncho), Second Sister, and a BD-1 molded similar to how they did D-0. Other sets: Battle on Sullust (Battlefront 2015, $29.99): Build is of a Turbolaser turret and a bit of the Sullust map of battlefront 2015, with a function to explode some crates and a lava river. Figures are 2x magmatrooper and 2x sullust rebel trooper. Tomb of Miktrull (Fallen Order, $49.99): A build of some of the Tomb puzzle, with a sphere, some terrain/ruins, and a meditation point. The figures are Cal Kestis (bracca outfit), 2x tomb guardian, a scout trooper, and an electrostaff purge trooper. Battle of Kashyyyk (Battlefront 2, $69.99): The build includes a wookie hut, command post, midi-scale AT-RT, STAP, 2x battle droid, 2x super battle droid, 1x 41st specialist, 1x 41st trooper, and 2x wookie warrior. The Mantis (Fallen Order, $89.99): Mantis ship with interior cockpit and holotable. Comes with Cal Kestis (Sumi poncho), Cere Junda, Greez Detritus, Merrin, Second sister, a purge commander, and an electrobaton purge trooper. Ebon Hawk (KOTOR, $139.99): Ebon Hawk with interior cockpit, cargo room, dormitory, etc. Figures are Darth Revan, Jedi Revan (Swgoh), Bastila Shan, Dark Bastila, Mission Vao, Zaalbar, Carth Onasi, T3-M4, 2 sith troopers, and Darth Malek.

I feel like Echo needs a new mold still (they could use it for Neyo too), but you're right about Hunter, on closer inspection a p2 helmet would work. I do agree tech needs a new one the most, though. I'm working on a post in the future sets forum including this. I doubt we'd get a set unless they did a remake, but I guess you never know. I'm super excited about that port though, VODE AN! That's true, they did have good vehicles to make and the medium-sized sets were good. (I owned three TX-225s at one point, though I broke one down for parts in 2019). The concept art of his A-wing is tough to make out the color from since it's kinda on fire and has a chunk taken out of the cockpit, but it seems to be brown where the red is on the normal a-wing, which would be interesting. The BARC mold is just the normal p2 (I thought it was new too, but turns out it's normal. This is some mandela effect stuff, man!).
