LEGO Star Wars 2021 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!

I don't think the falcon itself was because of the pandemic, but I do agree that it definately messed with the production. At the very least, half the wave was delayed, and one microfighter was cancelled. -
It looks like an "evil" x-wing almost, like from an alternate universe where the empire are the good guys and the rebels actually are terrorists. Very nice build, very smooth.

At least he's got arm printing... I didn't get the microfighter bit at first, but...yeah, I guess you're right, the only new one was the tauntaun in the 2-pack. I wonder if the falcon microfighters actually sell well enough to justify the remakes every couple years... I saw that! Honestly it'd be better for him if he cut his losses and just made a new account with an updated fake list. At least this is more entertaining. -

Wait, is it a different model? I was just gonna make some basic updates to the legs and cockpit. I desperately want them to make canon that the mini-rig was on hoth in a comic or something, it's one of the less goofy ones and actually makes a lot of sense as something that could quickly get into trenches, then lower it's profile and just massacre the entrenched rebels. -

With this forum as my witness, I'd kill a man for an official GR-75 system rebel transport. (For legal reasons, that's a joke...unless you have a way for it to work) I've always wanted a proper shield generator set. Every time I see the words, the classic mcquarrie painting comes to mind. Hopefully we get another hoth set soon, it's one of my favorite battles, and yet the last two attempts at big hoth battles (action battles and UCS) were subpar. You know what? I've been wondering what moc wave I was gonna do next, I'll start a hoth moc wave tomorrow. I was gonna post the sequel CMF today, but nah, here's a hoth wave: Microfighters: Snowspeeder ($9.99): Wedge Antilles AT-ST ($9.99): AT-ST pilot Super Star Destroyer vs rebel transport ($19.99): Admiral Piett and a hoth rebel trooper, with a tiny ion cannon build. Battle Packs: Blizzard force ($14.99): 3x snowtrooper, 1x imperial officer (colonel Starck in battle gear). Build is an MTV-7 and probe droid. Rebel defenders ($14.99): 2x hoth rebel (white jackets), 1x officer (dark tan jacket), 1x hoth rebel (light tan jacket). Build is a P-tower with terrain. Duel: Doesn't really work for hoth alone, so we'll do: Wampa encounter ($19.99): Wampa cave build with a captive luke, lightsaber launching function, and a wampa. System sets: All are modular (along with the rebel battle pack) and can be combined into echo base. Attack on shield generator ($39.99): Shield generator with explode function, as well as a DF-9. Comes with 1x hoth rebel trooper, 1x hoth han solo, and 2x snowtrooper, one with an e-web. AT-ST advance ($49.99): updated, 2-seater AT-ST design with 2x AT-ST pilot, a small snow bank to hide behind with an explode feature, 1x snowtrooper, 1x hoth rebel trooper, and snow chewbacca. Ion Cannon defense ($59.99): Ion cannon with interior command center. Comes with Riekan, 2x rebel officers, 2x snowtroopers, and a snowtrooper commander. Echo Base gates ($89.99): Echo Base gate with a small medical center on one side of the interior and a small command center on the other side, as well as a DF-9 outside. Comes with Hoth Leia, K-3PO, 2x rebel officer, Toyan Farr, Pilot Luke, 2x snowtrooper, a probe droid, and Lord Vader. Rebel Transport ($109.99): Rebel GR-75 with some bit of interior. Comes with 2x hoth rebel officer, 2x rebel fleet trooper, 2x rebel technician, 1x rebel captain, R-3PO, Hoth Han Solo, and 2x imperial fleet troopers. 18+: Falcon Escape ($39.99): Diorama of the e-web being set up and the falcon's ramp with 2x snowtroopers, hoth han, and lord vader. (I won't MOC the ones below unless I'm swimming in time, but...) UCS: UCS snowspeeder ($299.99): an updated design in light gray instead of white. Comes with pilot luke (arm printing) and Dak (arm printing) Helmets: Snowtrooper ($59.99) Hoth Rebel ($49.99) AT-ST pilot ($49.99) -

Hi! I wanted a hoth battle pack, and like I said if you go back a year or so in the future star wars sets thread there was like a solid week of posts including the hoth battle pack and people generally agreeing it would be nice. That's understandably a bit of effort to go to, but if you really don't believe anyone wanted a hoth battle pack, that's a place to start. Anyway, in terms of interiors that fit figures... the UCS falcon, the UCS sandcrawler, death star (though that'd be classified MBS nowadays I guess), Slave one, and probably other ones I'm forgetting are all meant to fit figures in them. I think it's very likely, especially considering that part of the AT-AT's iconicity is that image of Veers and the two drivers in the cockpit, that we'll see figures with it. I'll be honest, that OT thing may be the first time I've heard that particular opinion, but hey, no hate, there are definately films I physically cannot sit through (though the only star wars one is the holiday special, I can never get past the part where chewbacca's grandfather watches... *ahem* certain entertainment) Like you say, there are definately more eye-popping choices (some of which I'm sure will actually be in the wave, I'd be shocked if there isn't at least one other battle pack), but the hoth set is a pretty safe choice. Yeah, it's a solid choice. Cheap way to get mando, and ofc razor crest microfighters have been around for forever. -

Dude, calm down, no reason to call people idiots or "laugh irl" at them. I've seen many people ask for hoth battle packs, you can look in the "future star wars sets" thread and tons of people have been asking for it over the past 2 years or so. A few other things: Yes, the 501st battle pack was indeed the last one, so lego is less likely to make another one so they won't have multiple clone battle packs onshelves at once, with would assumably harm their sales more than it would help it as most kids can't buy that many sets. And let's think about that last bit for a second... clone wars only got a few sets from 2015-2019, and then started getting a lot more sets in 2020. I wonder if there was some sort of thing going on with the show from 2015 to 2019 that then changed in 2020... It's undeniable that the snowtrooper pack is a UCS AT-AT tie in, by the way. The extra cost and better blasters aren't much by themselves, but when promobricks says it's a UCS style minifigure stand... why would that be included if not to tie in to a UCS set? I can think of many UCS sets with interiors as well. Off the top of my head, the falcon had an interior, all starfighters have cockpits, the sandcrawler had an interior, etc. -

Ok, let's speak in terms of battle packs: The last battle pack released was a clone battle pack, one that the fans had been wanting quite vocally for years. Before that, we had a battle pack based of the mandalorian, and one based off TROS, the two most recent pieces of major SW media at that point. So i'd wager having one, again, ONE pack based on an iconic legion that in recent years has been in, what a $160 AT-AT and the quick-to-retire action battle sets really isn't that big of a deal, at all. I'm thinking it's got something to do with the UCS Tie-in rather than the new standard. If they do increase the price, it'll most likely just be to $17. This is more like the 2019 20th anniversary pack, I think. -

Eh, I agree we'd probably see another hoth set or two, but not a full wave, and not a hoth rebel battle pack. We rarely get battle packs for the exact opposite factions, at least recently. Rounding out the film waves, a Rise of Skywalker battle pack: Microfighters: TIE Dagger ($9.99): Special forces TIE pilot Poe's X-wing ($9.99): Poe Dameron (pilot) with the blue and orange x-wing TIE Whisper vs speeder ($19.99): Kylo Ren and Rey (on the stolen speeder) Battle packs: Rebel Reinforcements ($14.99): 4x resistance troopers (two with helmets, two with hair), and two buildable orbacks. First Order treadspeeder ($14.99): 2x stormtrooper, 1x treadspeeder driver, 1x jet trooper. Build is a treadspeeder. Duel: Force Duel ($19.99): kijimi build on one half and star destroyer trophy room on the other, with a destroyed vader helmet on a pedestal. Comes with Rey and Kylo ren. System sets: Poe's speeder ($29.99): The sand blue speeder Poe and Finn steal with Poe, Finn, C-3po, and a jet trooper. Exogol ($59.99): Sith throne, omnic harness, a build to "transform" palps from undead to eternal, and a cloning equipment area. Comes with Palpatine (undead), the eternal emperor, rey, ben solo, vicrul, and trudgen. TIE whisper ($69.99): TIE whisper with Kylo Ren, a sith trooper, General Hux, and a first order officer. Resistance dropship ($119.99): Large resistance dropship with a buildable orback, Finn, Rose, BB-8, Beumont Kin, Jannah, 2x resistance trooper, and 2x sith jet trooper. Sith Star Destroyer ($149.99): Sith star destroyer with interior conference table, palpatine hologram room, bridge, and hanger bay. Comes with Pryde, 2x sith officers, 2x sith technicians, 2x sith troopers, chewbacca, lando, and rey. 18+: Homestead ($34.99): Luke's hut on a display base with Rey and BB-8. Comes with farmboy luke and a couple extra parts to re-create the ANH scene as well. UCS: UCS TIE dagger ($199.99): Sith trooper (arm printing) and Palpatine (eternal, arm printing). Helmets: Kylo Reforged ($59.99) Sith trooper ($59.99) Jet trooper ($59.99) -

I don't think it's unlikely. The fact that this is the only set that leaked, it's got the display stand, and it's $20 really makes me think it is a UCS add-on. ...and lego's last wave was near-entirely clone wars, mandalorian, and bad batch. Does every subsequent wave have to be only them too? And I feel like you're missing a few things as well. 1. it not being an "exciting" choice is completely subjective. In fact, *pauses for dramatic effect*, I've personally been wanting a snowtrooper battlepack for years, and for me any many others, it's more exciting than another clone legion. I agree that it has nothing to do with prequel hate (though other comments here heavily suggest otherwise), but as it's literally one set, I don't think it's a failure to capitalize on clone hype, especially since a clone battle pack is one of the only battle packs currently on shelves. The set also clearly exists as an add on to the UCS AT-AT, so it's not like this is some random thing. I'm confused because you seem to get that it's a single set towards the end of the comment, but make all these assumptions beforehand based solely on the single set. I don't know, because if you looked at twitter in the years before the 501st battle pack released, it seems like fans were pretty clear about what legions they wanted in their battle pack... Also I feel like you think I don't like prequel sets for some reason. I don't know if you've seen, but I've posted topics here of entire waves of prequel mocs, I own 5 501st battle packs (and I don't exactly have an unlimited budget), and I made a thread to show how to obtain and mod the 2013 republic gunship for cheap. I would love a battle pack of p2 shinies or 212th troopers, but my point is that it's just dumb to be upset that a literal single set leaked and it wasn't a clone battlepack. Honestly, the fact that a set has this much controversy at it for the reason that it was not a clone battle pack is absurd, especially when there are likely 1-2 more battlepacks releasing this wave, depending on whether or not lego's counting this as a standard 1hy 2022 battle pack or a UCS add-on. -

So a few things: And before that 5-6 years, we had 4 clone battlepacks in less than a year... Besides, there's a clone battle pack in stores now. In fact, the only packs currently in stores are clones, mandos, and FO. Plus, "better for people in community" doesn't equal "better for the target audience". Most kids are smart enough to tell the difference between 501st and 212th, but they lack the income to army build both, and it's not like they'd take no clones over 212th. Compare it to snowtroopers, where they've been most recently available in either large sets or those god-awful action battle sets that retired so fast. My hope is that the pack is more expensive because it's an 18+ UCS tie-in, and the standard ones will stay $15. -
General Star Wars Discussion and Questions
Mandalorianknight replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Hi, I've sold on bricklink for about 3 years, it's pretty safe and you'll definately make more than on ebay. The main drawback for you is you'd have to list your lot individually into sets, figures, and/or parts instead of just taking a picture of the collection and dropping it on ebay. It's ultimately a question of whether it's more important for you to get more money from it, or get it out of your house with less time and effort. Sad to hear you're dropping the collection, though. What happened? -

"Lego refuses to embrace clone wars battle packs!!!" *the battle pack before this was literally 501st troopers* IDK why people are so upset about this, as a: LITERALLY THE LAST BATTLE PACK WAS CLONE TROOPERS, and B: we have no evidence that this is the only battle pack. Personally I hope/think the next one will be dark troopers, but we'll see. I feel like 10% of the criticism of this set is the pretty valid "yo why's it $5 more", and 90% is "Why isn't it a clone battle pack -> OMG lego hates the prequels" Really, guys, the last battle pack we got was clone troopers, and this is clearly meant to tie into the UCS set. -
Alright, so the snowtrooper battle pack leaked, and I thought I'd try to replicate it from the description. We've got this to go off of: "3 snowtrooper, 1 hoth scout trooper, speeder bike, E-web blaster, Snow Wall, Minifigure Stand, 105 pieces, $19.99". From the stand and the fact that they later confirmed normal blasters, I think it might be a UCS AT-AT tie-in. I almost doubt the part count, as having all that for 105 pieces is rough, and seems small even for lego. Here's the pack posed like the front of the box art could be, and here's the image of the figures on the stand with everything included: The stand is meant to be something that could connect to the UCS stands, which are apparently pretty basic as far as the figure stand part goes. It was tough to get this as exactly 105 pieces...and to be honest, the snowtroopers are missing their backpacks and kamas, meaning this design would actually be 117 pieces... Between this and the fact that even as-is, it still feels like a $15 battle pack, I'm almost thinking the part count might be innaccurate. Even if you remove the figure stand (at a whopping 4 parts), I'm not sure how you could get the speeder, e-web, figs, and snow wall to be 105 parts total. Is this what you think it looks like? Am I crazy, and it could totally work at 105 pieces? Will it actually just be a brick-built gonk droid?

I agree that a high-quality, $20 pack with good builds, accurate weapons, and massable figures is better than a $15 pack with random garbage builds, named or non-massable figures, and stud shooters, but I dissent with your view that the hoth troopers are the most bland/boring/awful choice. They're a major force of troops with solid screen time, and it's been 11 years since their last battle pack (which had two of them, an AT-AT driver, and megablocking veers.) Yeah, the snowtroopers are a great choice. I'm not sure where this "it's only an e-web" thing came from, but don't worry, it's an e-web, speeder bike, "snow wall" and minifigure stand. Sounds like more than enough parts for $20 one you factor in the 4 figures. Lego Fulcrum seems to be hinting that the snow scout is going to be the figure. It's great to have a new massable figure design in a BP, I guess, though I'm not sure as to the canonicity. -

Seems someone else already explained the canon v cannon thing, so I'll keep it to the stands. I remember this, I think it was just dishes on their feet or something though, right? The use of "stand", singular, and also stand as opposed to this, plus the fact that this was leaked by promobricks, who aren't stupid, they can tell the difference between an actual minifigure stand and a preliminary thing. Though of course I could totally be eating my words in a few months... -

I'm torn, as on the one hand that's definately not canon but on the other hand it'd be a super cool variant. I actually really like this, it's a solid imperial faction with standard blasters and real builds. I'll definately get at least 2. He's joking about a clone battle pack. not happening, isn't the 501st one still out? My thoughts: This is a pretty solid set. The figure choice is amazing, first of all, with four standard troops and no officers/named characters. The builds are also incredible. Three canon builds that make sense massed and will fit great into a MOC, plus a figure stand! The stand almost makes me wonder if this could be more 18+ styled, like an AT-AT add-on. And of course, ACTUAL BLASTERS! Can someone make a photoshop of some snowtroopers dancing on the stud shooter's grave? Only thing I don't like is, of course, the price. $20 is pretty big for a battle pack, to be sure. But... if the alternative was a pack that was, like, 2 snowtroopers, an at-at pilot, and an officer with a random speeder and stud shooters for $15...I'd prefer the $20. It's more expensive, but this sounds like a lot more of a premium product. Actually, now that I think about this... The old blasters coming back... The stand... This might actually BE an 18+ add-on. -

This is what I'd assume. They want to make sure that they can fufill all the pre-orders, and since they already have some shipping delays and other issues, they just stopped more pre-orders. Id guess they'd have at least some unclaimed copies left to sell september 1st, but I doubt there's as much stock as the average set has left. In other news, that clone flametrooper image from the mobile game (which was cancelled, then apple got ahold of it or something?) is making the rounds again. Don't be fooled, if it was any indication of things to come it would have been in already given how long the image has been floating around. -

Just got a scoop: I can specify two claims. One, the sets will actually have more than four parts, at least three of which will be used for a figure. Two, the amount of money the boxed sets will cost is in the form of $X9.99, where X is an integer between 0 and 99. The Harry P-otter thread is nothing compared to the might of NWH jokes. I read this as "Solek UCS" and had a fleeting vision of true, glorious purpose. -

If anyone's ever seen richboyjhae's AT-M6 (fun fact, I actually got to meet him and that model at a convention, he had rebel friend on top of it), I'm imagining the interior will be done like that at a smaller scale, with interior segments hidden by panels, but not a full interior. -

See below for padme's ship, but yeah, apparently there were a lot in the clone wars game. I only ever played the saga games and the free levels of force awakens, so I didn't realize they'd updated that. Yeah, I was watching a no way home trailer breakdown while writing this and it really didn't turn out right. my point was more so that you can usually tell which lego models are realistic, and which are not things that would be released as sets. In this case, the color is off, and the ship is gargantuan.
