LEGO Star Wars 2022 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!

Considering the crest got nuked from orbit, it might not be around much longer as a set. I'm guessing his S3 vehicle replaces it. Maybe he'll write a holonovel as he does so, a hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy if you will... Lego doesn't hate prequels...they're a company, they make what sells. I screamed "NOOOO!" when it happened, that's honestly the saddest moment in mando for me. (Sure, baby yoda getting captured is sad or whatever, but this was gut wrenching) -

Eh, the BB are only available in a $100 set right now so it'd be incredible for the target audience, plus omega guarantees collectors get it. My theory is that these are the "new" battlepacks, and they'll phase out the boxed ones, but for now I think you're right that they'll have at least one named character. Alright, here's my ideas. Going off only 3 new prints per pack, since many of the other accessory packs do that, though SW might be different given the larger budget. Tython battle: 2x stormtrooper, fennec shand, and an exclusive boba fett (like with the robes and scratched armor, new torso with arm printing, legs, and helmet). Builds are some little bits of terrain. Echo Base defenders: 3x hoth rebel trooper, exclusive snowy hoth han (new torso, legs, and head with the goggles and bandana printed). Build is a P-tower and some snow. Kamino Standoff: imperial crosshair, 2x exclusive elite squad troopers (new helmets, torsos, and legs), and hunter. Build is a little modular kamino training platform thing. Geonosis clones: 3x p1 clone trooper, 1x exclusive clone captain (new torso and helmet printing). Build is a mini command center with a new printed console 1x2 slope showing a spider droid on a targeting display. Exogol (I totally stole this idea from brickbob): Reborn palpatine (new head and torso, uses black dress part for legs), Ben Solo (new head print on a plain black torso), Rey, and a sith trooper. Build is the Sith Throne. Death Star troopers: 2x stormtrooper, 1x navy trooper, 1x exclusive imperial officer (black suit and lieutenant plaque). Build is a turbolaser. Mandalore battle: 1x mandalorian loyalist, 1x 332nd trooper, 1x male mauldalorian (new helmet print with gar's torso), 1x female mauldalorian (new helmet and torso prints). Build is a bit of the mandalore city with an explode function. First order troopers: 2x first order stormtrooper, 1x first order flametrooper, 1x exclusive new kylo (new head print of his helmet like the 2015 one, new leg printing, uses existing kylo torso). Build is some of the ruins of maz's castle with an explode function. -

There'll totally be inquisitors, (though I would say even with no number limit, once you get to the 19th brother and 23rd sister people might start getting tired of it), and as long as they're in the initial marketing they're a shoo-in for a set. My guess is we get a set based off the inquisitors' ship with at least the main inquisitor, Obi-Wan, and a couple non-spoiler side characters, probably releasing in either june or august, but my HOPE is for an 18+ set for Kenobi and Vader's Duel, as much as I know it won't be a set. -

Could have sworn one was female. yeah, that lady makes more sense. I do hope twilight company gets acknowledged at some point, as unlikely as it is, that book is like a sucker punch every time I read it, I always I think it could work well around the feet at least, sort of like how it clumps up in the film. Yeah the battle pack isn't terrible IMO in terms of price given the fact that it's got a fair amount of large bricks (plus even though the piece count is average, they have real weapons too instead of the stud shooters that each take up 4 pcs per fig/inclusion in build). If $20 is the standard from now on, I'll be mad, but since the other two "accessory packs" are still $15 I'm not too worried. -

Looks like some big ones, I'm thinking a large terrain build around the AT-AT's feet would look nice. Nah, I doubt they didn't recognize cad bane, or that whatever leak they saw didn't specify it as such. These sets look phenomenal. The snowtrooper cost is rough, but the wall is pretty big. I'll get one for sure, more if I get the UCS AT-AT. The AT-ST looks great too, the feet and cockpit sides are especially nice. The figures are fine overall. Would have liked another pilot but the one we get looks good. The hoth rebel trooper....is that Roja from the 61st mobile infantry? Or beak, I forget which one was the girl. Makes me want Namir and Roach figs. Snow chewie is fine, but BY GOD THAT PROBE DROID, easily the best we've ever gotten. -

Exactly, no idea why people keep acting like it's some secret anti-prequel dog whistle or something for lego to do that. It's very clearly a case of scale. Cantina is MBS, AT-AT is UCS. As a general rule, sets larger than minifig scale are have 2ish, ones at minifig scale have 3-10 figures, and mbs have around 20. yeah it's a speeder bike, e-web, "snow wall" and display stand. It's got normal guns, too! -

I first knew Samus from playing smash 4 at my friend's house in 2014 and now I try to spread the gospel of metroid wherever I can. I agree about andor, but that bit about kenobi being a miniseries honestly might work against it. Lego likes to play it safe with shows, and if a show is confirmed to only have one season, I think it's more likely they either give it a single small set or completely disregard it rather than go all-out. I think Kenobi's set chances depend heavily on how lucasfilm wants to market it, too. -

I almost doubt we'll be seeing sets for andor and kenobi right off the bat. Maybe one for kenobi, but andor doesn't seem like it'll have much overlap with that 6-12 audience. Plugging away on making mocs for the wishlist... here's my crab droid build that looks suspiciously like a metroid villain. -

General Brikkyy13! You are a bold one. This is why I'm wondering if I should risk getting it right away. I don't want to unless I sell the death star I've got up on bricklink, but if it sells like a day after and I miss out on the lightsaber GWP I'm gonna feel so dumb. -

You're so lucky, mine opens at 10am. You'd think that means I'd be able to get up later, but last year I was there before the mall it was in even opened, I'm talking like 7-8am, and there was already a huge line of guys in mythosaur t-shirts ready to snatch Trouble on Tatooine. -

I was gonna say I didn't have enough plain black heads and that was why but then I remembered bricklink existed...I don't know why I haven't done this yet. I do like to keep the correct parts for more expensive sets in seperate bags if I remove them as part of mods though, so if I decide to sell them I've still got all the parts. -

I gave up on the kamas and backpacks, it's been forever. It sucks and is awful for an $800 set, but hey, at least they fit in the seats right or whatever. I do love the idea of ancillary UCS sets, it's a very nice concept. -

Whether or not making those faceprints was a good use of the budget. (Which the mods have said we've got to stop arguing about, so we might want to do it before the thread gets locked), it's still a great set overall. The interior looks incredible, the exterior looks phenomenal, and it appears to not only be stable but articulatable. That tool is a genius method. -

Again, those bounty hunters are likely ones based off characters from the trailer. The only ones that wouldn't fit under "bounty hunter" are really the twi'leks, and given that lego doesn't seem to want to do oola or slave leia anymore, we were never going to see more twi'lek dancers with...similar costumes. It's dumb that they won't make them, but it is something we've speculated on for almost a decade. -

I mean, the guards are usually seen in pairs or small groups, but my bigger point is: what character would you want to replace them? Yes but what character from the show (that they've said is in the show, lego doesn't tend to put spoiler characters in sets until months after the show releases) would be "exciting"? The only ones we've seen besides boba, fennec, and the guards are generic alien hunters/mob guys, and 2 of them are likely the 2 in the set. Also seems like everyone is forgetting about the rancor. -

Ok, let's go through this fig-by-fig. Clearly fett and fennec have to be there. The guards seem to be boba's guards, and since they haven't appeared in nearly 10 years in sets, I'm not sure why that's such a bad inclusion. The two hunters are almost certainly new figs. What specifically did you want here? -

I'm not objecting to them in the marauder, a cheaper set based off recent media, and I dislike your implication. In ESB, the snowtroopers were, in both cast and intention, men. And that's not even the main point I'm trying to make, my point is that they went out of the way to do this rather then to just do, say, some angry clones, the fo officer helmet, we'll even say like leia's head or something. That would have been fine with me, but they made new exclusive prints focused on stuff that you A: won't really see and B: is inaccurate, rather than new prints for the interior, or updated torso prints, or any other use of the budget. It's not even that big of a deal, but I maintain that I disagree with the decision. Not to get even further on a tangent but battlefront two's had canonicity issues for forever, ESPECIALLY regarding skins. (mustard 327th, the various jumptroopers, etc). Like, ewoks were not present at the battle of hoth, there wasn't a large battle on yavin, heck, vader doesn't fight bb-8, grievous never fights rey, etc. -

Yeah, it's kind of dumb especially since, like you said, they're exclusive prints that could have been better used elsewhere. I wouldn't have an issue if they were just using, like, angry clones and the FO snow officer head or something, as that's accurate and not using new prints, but they went out of their way to make it inaccurate when the easier option was accuracy (which might be a first for lego?) -

Well...yeah, that's the point. Eurobricks can't say "here are the leaks/here are where the leaks are" without incurring penalties from lego, but if a random user happens to vaguely hint at their location (or in some cases a random user just straight up saying a place they can be found), they can have some deniability. Really? Obviously boba and fennec are givens, and more importantly with them, fennec has only been in one $160 set before this. With boba, he'll either be new, or the one that came in only one set before (though it was a cheaper one, but again he's the main character, what are you gonna do?). The gamorreans are characters we haven't had in what, 9 years by the release of this set? That's great! Plus at least in america the cheapest undamaged ones are nearly $15, and they usually appear in pairs so this is great for people who want them but don't want to shell out $15 per fig. With the bounty hunters, they MIGHT be rehashes, but I doubt it. I feel like if it was bossk or dengar or something they would have said so, this sounds like they're random characters labeled "bounty hunters", which means they're likely new figs. Seriously, what were people expecting for this? Who would you even put in the set instead of any of these guys, it's not like they're gonna be dropping spoiler characters into it. -

Yes, technically, but look at the 2016 death star and tell me it wouldn't be called an MBS set if released today. It has everything MBS sets are known for: -mainly focused on interior -tens of figures A price tag significantly heftier than the $200 UCS sets we tend to get in may nowadays. Not bad at all IMO, especially if the rancor is in the set. You get the two main characters, the guards, and two generic hunters. They don't want to spoil cameos, so it's not going to be like if the AT-ST raider came with grogu or if ToT came with Cobb Vanth. -

Pretty high, considering we've had one every even numbered year since either 2016 or 2014 depending on whether or not you consider the sandcrawler. -
I liked @TheRiddlersMind's post on his custom rebels, so I thought I'd show off my own rebel legions: The 63rd mountaineering corps: The 63rd mountaineering corps are deployed to planets with harsh vertical terrain. Due to the nature of their deployments, they're devoid heavy artillery or tanks, though they're occasionally aided by visio squadron's A-wings. I got a bulk lot of unprinted endor helmets and since I liked them more than the RO helmets these guys came with, I switched them out. The 32nd Forest commandos: The 32nd forest commandos are deployed to forest worlds or moons like that of endor (where they picked up a few ewok stowaways). The commandos are known for their speeder bike-riding scouts, their sniper troops and spotters, and their trailblazing pathfinders. I tried to make coherent use of my endor troopers, and also noticed that the hoth helmet works incredibly well with that scarf piece, so I made some scouts for it. The 45th urban combat division: The 45th division is sent into battles in urban areas, such as mos eisley. The 45th uses MLC-3 tanks, which can block off entire streets, and their troopers are experts at fighting in the rubble of buildings. I made these guys because I got that bulk lot of unprinted endor helmets for cheap, so I just swapped out my resistance troopers for rebels. Standard fleet troopers: The standard fleet troopers. I didn't change the normal troops much, just created the captains, rebel friend, and some DH-17s. I have them displayed with my custom T2-B as it looks the most "official" out of all my rebel tank mocs.

Legos are currently a net financial gain for me, as I buy bulk lots on ebay and then sell the sets that can be made from them. It's close though, given the new sets I buy, and $800 would take me far enough across that line that I don't want to do it unless some big items sell. I have the exact same opinion regarding the AT-AT. The minifigure-scaling is what is really driving me to get it. If I do, I'm definately making some hoth terrain around it for display. Ah, good to know. -

Nice. God, I've got to have that AT-AT. It's so expensive but I'm definately going to try for it, I've got some bigger sets listed on bricklink and if they sell soon I'll get it. Ah, I didn't remember the tournament one. I think the pirate one isn't all unique though? At the very least that zane was from the robot wave, right? Yeah when you said ninjago packs I remembered the final battle, rebooted, and clutch powers ones, which came with 0-1 unique figures. I'm not gonna crunch the numbers but I remember the majority being like that, although like you show there are definately some.
