Or Batman versus superman, in which case we need to take the chance of that set being a statue as an absolute certainty in order not to be disappointed if it is. -

Ah, I wish. A UCS ghost almost seems more likely to me then system sets, as most rebels fans are adults by now and the bricklink prices are monstrous. (I'm still missing Zeb...) I have an interesting idea I'll explain later, sort of a reverse Wishlist, but for now, the animation CMF: 1. Ahsoka Tano (speeder bike pilot): Ahsoka (seasons 3-5). Face print has goggles on one side. Comes with printed arms, and two lightsabers, one of which uses the shorter 3l bar. 2. Fives (ARC Trooper): Has a cloth kama and pauldron, re-using the 2012 ARC mold. Comes with two blaster pistols and a 1x2 tile with inhibitor chip. 3. Anakin Skywalker: his navy blue and metru red outfit, complete with a new armor mold. Comes with a lightsaber. 4. Hondo Ohnaka: Comes with monke lizard and an chrome gold ingot. 5. Dooku (Pajamas): Comes with lightsaber 6. Ezra Bridger (seasons 3-4): Has a dark side face print on one side and dual-molded legs. Comes with a lightsaber and sith holocron. 7. Ryder Azadi: new helmet mold, rifle. 8. Cadet Sabine: Sabine's imperial cadet uniform with an imperial C1-10P 9. Seventh sister: uses inquisitor saber mold. 10. Gar Saxon: new helmet mold, comes with a medium blaster 11. Hunter (civilian): comes with a new hair/bandana mold, as well as a 1x2 tile with credit bars print and a medium blaster. 12. Echo: new molded robotic arm and cloth kama. Comes with a blaster pistol. 13. Cid: Comes with her staff and a dejerak table. 14. Scorch: New helmet mold and armor mold, comes with a double-barreled blaster. 15. Admiral Rampart: Comes with a palpatine hologram and blaster pistol. 16. (Chase figure): Ronin. Done entirely in shades of gray with an intricate cape/robe cloth and a new mold for the trans-red saber. -

I thought there were 2 $30 sets? They didn't even call the 501st BP a battlepack. Between the two battle I mean, "accessory" packs, the snowtrooper UCS battle pack, and the possibility of a $30 tank with 3 clones and a jedi, I'd say our battle pack type sets are doing fine this year. If you buy me three copies, I'll be glad to make alternate builds for each! But actually I might get this and if I do I'll post alts. -

Republic shuttle would be a cool set to have, especially with it's modularity. And we really need a v-wing remake, it's a cheap set that looks great and has good figure potential. Stop, my wallet is gonna kill me in my sleep if they make these. Rebels wave: Microfighters: Pheonix command ship ($9.99): Ahsoka (rebels) TIE defender ($9.99): TIE pilot (Vult skerris face print) Phantom 2 vs Mandalore-buster walker ($19.99): Ezra (with scout helmet) and Tiber Saxon. Battle Packs: Rebel Reinforcements ($14.99): 2x rebel trooper (yellow armor/helmets), 2x rebel trooper (blue armor/helmets). Build is a bit of Chopper Base with a turret and thumper. Imperial Specialists ($14.99): 1x DT-droid, 1x imperial combat driver, 2x jumptrooper. Build is an imperial speeder. Duel: Duel over Mustafar ($19.99): Some of the star destroyer reactor catwalks with a control center, elevated enough that a character can "fall" a bit. Comes with Kanan and the Grand Inquisitor. System Sets: The Phantom ($29.99): S1 Phantom with S1 Ezra, Chopper, and a stormtrooper. Mandalore-buster ($59.99): Beskar-destroying walker. Comes with Sabine S4, Ursa, Kanan S4, a mandalorain loyalist, 2x supercommandos, and Tiber Saxon. Imperial Dropship ($69.99): Imperial Laat/le with 1x dropship pilot, 2x stormtrooper, Pryce, Hera, and Zeb. TIE Defender vs A-wing ($99.99): Respective starfighters with 1x TIE pilot, Skerris, Thrawn, 2x DT droids, Pilot Hera, A-wing pilot, and Commander Sato. The Ghost and The Phantom ($159.99): Ghost with interior cockpit, Kanan's quarters, holotable room, and cargo bay, along with the Phantom 2. Comes with (S4 variants): Hera, Kanan, Chopper, Zeb, Ezra, Sabine, Kallus, AZ-7, Hondo, Thrawn, and Rukh. 18+: Dume ($39.99): Comes with (Spoilers)- UCS/MBS: UCS Ultimate Ghost ($499.99): MASSIVE ghost and to-scale phantom 2 with interior rooms for the cockpit, Kanan/hera's room, Zeb/Ezra's room, Sabine's room, the kitchen, the holotable room, and the cargo bay. Comes with (All S4): Hera Syndulla (dual-molded legs), Kanan Jarrus, C1-10P, Garazeb Orrelios, Sabine Wren (arm printing, dual-molded legs), and Ezra Bridger (Arm printing) on a display plaque with the starbird behind them like the shield eagle in the helicarrier set. Helmets: Sabine Wren ($59.99) Ezra's cadet helmet ($59.99) Graffitied Stormtrooper Helmet ($59.99) -

As others have mentioned, same thing happened with the prequels. It's not so much that it's a "statement" on the sequels (kids 6-12 generally don't have strong opinions on the quality of certain segments of media from what I've seen, at least from personal experience they love bb-8, kylo, and the first order just as much as clones, stormtroopers, and jedi). It's moreso that they spent 6 years saturating the market with sequel releases and now they're letting it breath, just like they did with the prequels. -

Ahh, ok. I suppose it's possible then, but I wouldn't get my hopes up, as much as I want everyone's favorite based clone. (And the 212th is better than the 501st...fight me!) Dude, no way, that's how I got mine! I remember being extremely disappointed as a kid, because I got a ninjago pack and they all ended up being glued together. -

Where did you hear 212th accesory pack rumors? Great if true, though. Aside from being a great set, it'd be absolutely hilarious if all these people spent all this time complaining lego doesn't care about prequels only to get two sets of 2 requested legions with troops and a commander in a single wave! Why? -

I remember this, it's not a battle pack but at least it's got a good amount of troopers! The only thing that makes me think it really is the 187th is that supposedly it's got an airborune, but given that both the 7 th sky corps and Mace's legion were on Anaxes... I'm hoping that there is....Boba's one of my favorites but I'm running out of shelf space... -

I'm could've sworn they were in BF 2005, but apparently that was a mod as they aren't in it according to wookiepedia. That said, we got airbourne geonosis troopers, a p2 gunner, and.... a vehicle based on a prototype action figure vehicle. The 187th is definately possible, but it's also certainly possible it was a mistake. Personally, I'd prefer some canon clones, but I suppose we'll see. As someone who's mace is currently the TCW mace with the generic reddish brown head they used for the FO officer in the 2016 battle pack, I can second the fact that he's not exactly readily available. The combat speeder was almost 3 years ago (and also a horrible, overpriced set), and the UCS gunship is not something you would buy because you wanted a mace windu. -

Um, I think the battle packs are coming back AS the minifigure packs. Everything about the snowtrooper pack (increased price, subject matter, display stand) when taken together strongly indicates it's a special case and meant as a UCS add-on pack. The $15 blister packs for other themes pretty much just ARE battle packs for other themes, with the main difference being that the composition is usually 2-3 army-builders and 1-2 named characters. But consider the themes (ninjago, superheroes, harry potter): they usually lack armies for the good guys, at least ones of any iconicity. And even then, we do get "battle packs" of entirely unnamed characters (Oni ninjago pack, GCPD pack, probably more I'm forgetting). I'm pretty sure the SW ones are just going to be battle packs packaged differently. Interesting, as the set (and the 187th airbourne) are from battlefront 2005, and AFAIK only the tank is canon (battlefront 2017). Depending on the price I might get it, I already have a nice MOC I made of the tc-130, but if the figures are good and it's cheap maybe I'll get it. -

The Obi-wan had a stand, and I believe it was around the time this supposed contract renegotiation took place anyway. "The action figure theory is convoluted" It's something lego actually stated.... This is offensive to conspiracy theories. (But actually, conspiracy theory is a blanket term. it can be "lizard people control the government", but it can also be something real. Example: the USSR's genocides a few decades ago were once derided as conspiracy theories). This has literally no basis in anything. No motive on the spokeman's part, or the company's part, and potentially huge downsides for doing it, if true. If it was a lie, hasbro immediately would have said so (they wouldn't want fans of SW merch thinking it was their fault, because that could impact sales). -

Not necessarily. There have been DC and Harry Potter packs consisting primarily of unnamed characters, and many ninjago and marvel ones are 50/50 between named charcters and army-builders. Considering those themes are a lot more focused on the main heroes as opposed to armies, I think there's a good chance that these are the "Triumphant return" to battle packs. 1. Yeah, it's the major rebel capital ship, I really hope we get one in the next couple years 2. Technically speaking, we got the speeders and imperial crosshair . (I get what you mean, but if they were gonna do one set I think they'd have to do the shuttle, and aside from the bounty hunter ships pretty much every other vehicle appeared in TCW) -

Speak for yourself, I've wanted ranking rebels for forever. Still hoping for a home one cruiser sometime, partially so we can get mothma and/or madine. No, we've even had leakers hint it's more exciting in response to all the "ugh it's OT" comments, so it might not be dagobah at all. Keep in mind the minifig packs which honestly might just be BP replacements. Keep in mind that Mando only had 2-3 sets origionally planned, one of which being a battle pack that, given the colors, honestly seemed closer to TCW or Rebels, and that Bad Batch, while a good set, is nowhere NEAR as popular as mando. They'll wait to put stuff out until they can ride season 2 hype. -

Yeah, it hurts to see it, it's tough to ignore. You've got one other. My most wanted SW sets are a trash compactor/detention block, coruscant guard battle pack, exogol, and gnk droid statue. Crimson Corsair is a great fig, but I don't see us getting him until another Maz's castle comes out, or a star wars CMF. It's definately based of BoBf according to the leakers, and at that price point, I'm thinking it'll actually have some solid stuff from the show, not just the Mando S2 post-credits. I doubt it, even as an 18+ set I can't see that at $80. -

I honestly don't mind the complaining as much, people going "I prefer clone wars sets" or "these sound bad and I'll skip" don't bother me as much as the comments that sound like they're entitled to the sets they want, or that not liking the sets is emblematic of lego being against their fans or films. Oh thank god. I can't see a Kef Bir set at $60 (or $80 I forget), so I'm going to keep hoping for the detention block/trash compactor. -

Yeah, TROS has a couple good sets to choose from, but not that one, that's not a good option compared to exogol, especially not at that price. Yes I really want this, this is one of my most-wanted sets (I mean for star wars it's this, a Coruscant guard troopers battle pack, and a gonk statue) I mean there's a few different things pointing to it not being disappointing. One, that they meant it for the majority of SW fans, who don't generally think the original films are "garbage" (If you just meant the set choices, sorry). The other is that the same leakers have hinted "Yoda's training" and "death star battle" are more than they appear to be, and of course there are like 5 other sets we haven't seen yet. @jdubbs definately has info, but he usually gives out hints and clues instead of straight out saying "the set is _____". He had some fun ones around the time the cantina started leaking. I'm assuming he doesn't want to risk losing his connection by giving out all the info, so I kinda like the hints. -

Interesting... I hope not, but I can't see what it would be. Here's how I think they stack up. Saying the AT-ST raider is an AT-ST would be like counting Rex's AT-TE from rebels as a stock AT-TE. The AT-ST's last real set was the RO one in 2016. At a $50 price point what major missing prequel thing we were gonna get? Another AT-AP or HMP gunship? As it's a pretty iconic vehicle, I think this one is justified. Maybe not the most exciting choice, but one that's certainly a solid choice. Yoda's hut: I'm with you on this one, we had it recently enough, and the only way I can see it being that expensive is if they threw in the 2021 x-wing (especially since it's $50 more expensive than the last one and the x-wing is $50.) I've wanted a remake of the 04 set for awhile, but not a year after the last red five. This is definately a bad choice IMO, they're gonna be splitting their x-wing sales down the middle. Death star battle: three what, death star sets? Those were three completely different scenes from two different films. My guess is it's the cell block and trash compactor, which is something I've wanted for literal years, so I'm actually very happy about this one. Also seems like it could be a way to get the "big three", chewie, and even obi-wan, vader, or the droids in a single, sub-$100 set, which would be a godsend for kids who don't have huge disposable incomes. When I was a kid I didn't have a standard han solo (or padme, but that's a problem we still have ) IMO this is a really good concept, and if it looks good and has a solid chunk of the main cast could be one of the best sets of the year. Most likely he either bought 30 sets and pulled them out and just hasn't inventoried the gunship parts yet, though it's also possible he bought all the cheaper listings for them and is reselling them. AFAIK there's no legal way to get large amounts of specific SW figs alone from lego, though you can buy the parts needed for figs from in-house themes on their bricks and pieces site. -

That does make the data a bit different, though I'd say if we count them it'd half to be on a set-by-set basis, nearly. A good number of the RO sets are very similar to OT ones, but many of the solo sets, for instance, are only connected to the OT through han solo, and since the main chunk of the film takes place almost exactly halfway through the ROTS-ANH gap, that's a pretty tenuous connection. Plus, yoda chronicles and the other lego-ip sets are weird to count. Jek-14's fighter isn't in the prequels or clone wars, but it comes with clone and mandalorian characters, so while I personally wouldn't count it as part of anything there's an argument to be made. Some of the mando sets are close enough to OT (imperial vehicles), but others honestly seem closer to PT (colorful mandalorians), and some really seem more on their own (Razor crest). Clone wars sets pretty much all fit as prequel sets, but rebels is a weird one. Sure, many sets are OT styled, so it'd be a boon to that count. But how do you count rex's AT-TE? It's a Clone wars vehicle with clone troopers, but it takes place closer to the OT. TLDR it gets pretty subjective on a set-by set basis, but I think overall the OT did get a solid percent more sets in that 2015-2019 period of the new films, again because they were the safest bets to sell well. So this is almost entirely focused on the landspeeder, so I'll just say: The landspeeder IS one of the most iconic vehicles in the saga. It's also a way to get luke, obi-wan, c-3po, and r2-d2 in a single, cheap set, but the main point is on the iconicity of the vehicle. Yeah, it's not in the series all that much, but it's more than slave one, almost all republic vehicles, etc. It is one of the definitive star wars vehicles. If you ask people on the street to name 5 star wars vehicles, I guarantee it would be "x-wing, tie fighter, millenium falcon, imperial walker, luke's speeder" a solid 90% of the time. Yeah, the idea that CW needs to be counted separately from prequels really doesn't make sense for many of these. -

Thank you for finding all the stats, though I think some of your conclusions aren't correct, and a bit of the way you distribute them is slightly askew (why are RO, solo, and Mando OT, but clone wars is it's own thing?) Namely, if you look at the distribution, we got massive prequel waves in 2013 and 2014, and the literal wave after the new films stop, we suddenly start getting a much more even amount of sets for each era. During the flux of new films, since about half their sets went to the new ones (And it's important to remember that two of the new films we got are classified under OT.), so with the remaining spots they took the safest possible bets in case the new films didn't do well. I might come back and crunch the numbers for it in a few hours, but I suspect if you pull out all new films and series from 2015-2019, classic OT sets aren't all that far off number-wise from classic prequel sets. If anything, the major takeaways from the data are that lego leans heavily into new films, and that in "off-season" between them we tend to get a more balanced mix of eras. I think the reasons for that are drastically different than those for the system sets, though. Adult collectors are the basis there, and they HATED the prequels (and clone wars, hellogreedo has a great video where he just goes back and shows all the hate the clone wars got in it's early days), so there was no money in prequel UCS. The gunship vote was a test to see if prequel UCS could sell, and if the gunship's selling well, maybe we'll get more prequel UCS. I agree, though more about clone trooper/Mandalorian sets than strictly clone wars. Lego is starting to see the demand for these characters, not just from some grown adults online, but from actual sales figures, so I think we'll be seeing them more frequently. With the shows, lego got super cautious about them after the clone wars series ended and their mishandling of the rebels sets led to poor sales. I've gone over it before, but they also mishandled resistance, what with not releasing the MAIN HERO SHIP (I haven't seen much of the show, but the fireball was the most prevalent in the marketing and definately a nice design), which further reinforced the idea that animated series sets wouldn't sell well. Obviously that led to only the one mando set, which along with the baby yoda situation emblematic of 1977 star wars merch, was quickly resolved with a solid amount of sets, but it's status as not only live-action, but baby yoda's show assumedly is part of what kept them cautious about bad batch. The shuttle appeared to do well, so my guess is we'll get more sets in summer 2022 with season two, as while well-liked I'm not sure bad batch was popular enough to get sets 6 months between seasons when they could just wait until season 2 premieres and have sets out to ride the hype there. My guess is BoBf, due to it's mandalorian connections, will start with a couple sets, then have a mandalorian-like distribution after. Obi-wan and andor will probably get one set, if any, especially considering the tone of andor. -

Well, not exactly. First off, if we're talking about the clone wars, it DOMINATED release-wise for years, because, like you said, there was no other media at that point. I don't think the examples you specifically chose are great, as the venator had been around for what, 3-4 years at that point? and the ARC-170 had been released beforehand. And really, especially in recent years we have gotten a fair amount of prequel era sets. I'm pretty sure it is, but luckily aside from the plaque and packaging it'll be easy to replicate for cheap. -

Something tells me that if the new battle packs are blister packs, they would no longer be exclusive to lego stores. I think they're the same price as battle packs, unfortunately.
