  1. I've had this idea since the contest was announced, but never had the time to build it until now. It turned out...fine. The 12x12 restriction ended up being a bigger problem than I thought for this scene, since unlike the last 12x12 vignette I did (liberty parlance from Spider-Man: No Way Home) the scene feels more solemn and empty. But I still think I got the overall feel across, and the sliding doors use some Studs Not On Top building that was fun to do. I've got more ideas for this, but part restrictions were challenging enough here, so I think the others will be in stud.io.
  2. So my first thought was "eh, that looks fine I guess", but you tricked me. My next thought was that it looks waaaay to big to be 12x12, but it is! The way you built it makes it look really sizable despite still fitting that constraint. And then you get into all the details like the lighting panels and the minikit...this is better than the one I'll be posting today!
  3. I assume you want a better head for him, right? Since there's already official wedge helmets and the flight suit is just a standard one. Anyway, here's what I currently use: 2018 x-wing flight suit. These legs and this torso. The 2006 wedge helmet. The newer one is great too, it's just a little more expensive and I already had the older one, plus I like the gray. And for the head, which I assume is the main thing you're looking for, use this clone pilot head! Someone told me this years ago on this same thread, and the closed-mouth expression on it really does look just like wedge. Bonus: use this classic hair when he's not wearing the helmet. Want a Wedge out of his flightsuit, in a rebel captain uniform? Combine that hair with this head (or maybe something else if you don't have that head, I'm concerned how expensive that's getting for a part in 6 different sets) with this jacket and these legs. (Rank tile might be a bit inaccurate, but I think it's the only torso with a rebel navy rank tile at all. There's a rebel captain rank tile on a cassian andor figure, but it's for an army captain)
  4. Lucky. I've pre-ordered Vader's castle (since sold it), the Razor Crest, the Bad Batch Shuttle, and none of those shipped early. I hope my BD-1 pre-order breaks that trend. I'll also mention that I pre-ordered the dagobah diorama and cancelled it a week or two before May 1st so I could grab the promos. I even told customer service that was why, they were fine with it. (Though they acted all "we can't confirm if there are promos coming out for may the fourth"). IIRC you can cancel before it's in warehouse for any reason. If it ships and you realize you've been charged more, I'd hope they'd still let you cancel then too. Yeah. To lay out the full case: Account that leaked it hasn't been the source of any real leaks before Image hasn't been reposted by any reliable or even semi-reliable leakers Before posting this image, the account posted a zoomed in image of a fake-looking cody by the AT-TE Foot. Leak uses clone wars trim and 332nd trooper, when the actual set will probably use the movie trim with Vader. This one's more subjective, but the image looks to me more like it was pixelated digitally than just a blurry image. It looks too intentional of a pixilation rather than the standard potato leak quality.
  5. Thanks. The trim definately looks good, probably because it's a copy paste of the republic fighter tank trim. As this is a film set, I'm guessing it'll have the film trim with Vader on the boxart. The...usual places. Not sure how much we're allowed to say here, as EB is pretty strict about leaks. There are certain hashtags you can look up on certain image-based social media sites to find lego leaks. My personal experiance has been that you're charged the day of release, and the item ships then. So I wouldn't count on it, although it would be kinda gross for them to raise the price of a pre-ordered set after people pre-ordered it.
  6. I'm 97% sure it's fake. It uses the clone wars trim and image, which could be a TLG error, but seems fake to me. It's been posted by only one account and reposted by no reliable leakers yet. The guy who posted it has been the source of 0 leaks so far, and his last image was of a very clearly fake cody next to a blurry AT-TE leg.
  7. I missed this the first time, but...that's what his mustache looks like. It's almost laughable that it's considered offensive to give a minifigure facial hair that looks like the character's facial hair. Doesn't he have the hair in the MoM set? Or are you talking about the sanctum, because unless I missed something I don't think we know yet. The Strange minifigure leaked without hair first too.
  8. Oh, no, I totally agree that it's a mess, I just don't think throwing more money into the service would make it sucessful.
  9. Ok, I know I've done two already, this is the last one, I swear. Here are some mandalorians. From left-right: The Theologist, The Gunslinger, The Machine, The Statue, and The Scrapper. The Theologist: After the night of a thousand tears, many struggled to find a way. This mandalorian chose to cross the galaxy and try and find what "the way" for mandalore is. Casting aside weapons for a staff, with a cape instead of a jetpack, the theologist travels planets once important to the mandalorian people to try and uncover the way of the ancient mandalorians. The Gunslinger: This mandalorian found himself on a sparsely populated planet after the loss of mandalore. Living simply in a cold desert, the gunslinger hones his skills with a blaster and drinks his life away, waiting for the day the empire comes to finish what they started in the night of a thousand tears. The Machine: While it may appear at first to be some sort of ecliptic war droid, The Machine is a mandalorian so integrated into his armor that separation is physically impossible. Considered an abomination even by his fellow mandalorians, the Machine is currently locked up in the detention facility of an imperial remnant somewhere in the outer rim. Not a living thing, but simply a suit of armor, the Statue is a representation of the ancient mandalorian Tar Vizla, creator of the Darksaber. The Scrapper was imprisoned after the empire put down Bo-Katan's rebellion in the night of a thousand tears, and while she managed to escape, her armor was lost. With a cobbled together helmet and jetpack, the Scrapper forges or scavenges any armor she can obtain, beskar or not. Upon completion of her armor, she hopes to help take back Mandalore.
  10. As @Kim-Kwang-Seok puts so well, they aren't a charity. My guess is this service isn't profitable enough to hire more people. More cynically, it might be that after buying bricklink, they've lost interest in this service.
  11. Why is he always so happy in the minifigures too? The reason Wong is so great is he's got that grumpy cat type of personality. I can't remember a single time he's smiled, aside from maybe when someone makes fun of Strange. "Jesse...Jesse listen to me. We need to cook" "But Mistah White, you already have enough for your family to be financially secure." "Not anymore, Jesse. The Sanctum Sanctorum Lego set's gone up in price. We need to cook."
  12. See, that's the thing. There's a lot of stuff I like about the show, or at least like on paper. Even some stuff from the first episode that I didn't like as much was done a lot better in this one. But there is this pervading feeling it seems we both have at least a bit that something's not quite right, but can't identify. Wait, it's not just the justifier? They're upping the price of the dioramas? And the N-1, which was already wildly overpriced? Geez. I'm not normally one to be like "waaah greedy company" but raising the price of sets already on shelves...that's kind of scummy and not something I've ever heard of for toys. Edit: it's response to the inflation. It's got to be, right? I mean, it still sucks, but on that level I understand it a bit more. I guess the surprising thing for me is that it's not more expensive here than in europe, since the US's inflation is significantly more than europe right now IIRC. That's definately possible, but still wouldn't be worth anywhere close to $170 IMO. It could be very well-built, so I agree that there's definately some intrigue in seeing how it turns out.
  13. ....are they insane? How confident are they in Cad Bane's popularity? Like sure, he's cool, but they can't possibly think he's enough for this set to be worth $50-70 more than it is? Did Grievous's starfighter and Snoke's throne room sell really well? I mean hell, look at this and the scythe. One is almost twice the price of the other, but if anything the Justifier set isn't as cool in the eyes of the average kid. Lego is very transparently putting all their cards on Bane and Omega being enough to sell this set.
  14. Honestly, same. This entire series, I've just had the feeling that something's off about it. On the surface, I should be loving a lot of this stuff, but it just doesn't feel right. The Scythe is such a good set, but I just don't like the show enough where I think I'll spend $100 on it, even if the value is there. Everyone do this. leaks for kenobi:
  15. What if I'm using the base style used in the dioramas this year, and the grille plates push it just beyond 12x12? I have no problem switching it out if it's an issue, but I thought the consistency would be cool.
  16. Ah. I don't know if stud.io has mon cala heads either, but on the bright side, you can easily add LDD parts to stud.io, which I've done for a ton of parts.
  17. I love it! Those AT-ACT and U-wing models could be their own polybag sets, and the ion shot is replicated very well. You've also got the clear part holding up the U-wing placed well. Having it on top of the tree provides a visual distraction when looking at it that makes it less obvious than just placing a clear part on the tan plate. Not a huge fan of the base using those 1x1 alphabet tiles, but it's pretty cool overall. Fun fact: You can use the "part designer" official extension to stud.io to put printing onto tiles.
  18. Sorry for the double post, but here are the mods (admittedly more of recolors). Again, these are NOT ENTRIES THEMSELVES. The base model is the entry. T-wing (dropship): "One oft-forgotten part of the T-wing's production history was that around 5 ABY, the new republic did quietly purchase a few squadrons of the base design with some interior modifications. Instead of the fully powered hyperdrives and full missile loadout, this variation of the T-wing had an interior dropship that could load a small team of commandos. This ship was able to jump into a system, then preform a microjump into the atmosphere. As a result of this ability being maintained despite the space needed for troops, the T-wing dropship had NO shielding and very little ability to guide it's missiles precisely to targets. The lack of any shielding or any offensive/self defense capabilities meant that this ship was kept a dirty little secret of the New Republic Intelligence division." Yeah, so here's the mod. I didn't do a render of the interior, because it's literally just carving out the interior of the base T-wing. It also lowers the dropship trapdoor a bit, which as it turns out, was unwarranted. The ship can hold around 4 specforces troopers, although you have to get a little wacky with their helmets if you use the fleet trooper helmets. In an attempt to make it more than carving the interior, I did change the greebling a little as well. T-wing (Hunter craft): "As mentioned in many accounts of the T-wing, Incom sold modified, extremely expensive T-wings to highly successful bounty hunters. These T-wings combined that hyperdrive capability with solid shields at incredible cost, and as such, only the most elite bounty hunters purchased them. This particular ship was clearly not purchased directly from incom, and likely stolen or scavenged after the loss of it's owner by men unable to mantain it. Pockmarked with dents, holes, and a damaged engine, the fact that it's still flying at all is a tribute to the enhanced defensive capabilities of this variant." A lot more changes to the greebling of this craft, including parts to represent damage and a larger amount of greebling on the back. The interior was changed a little to fit a bounty, but not too much. Anyway, thanks for looking at these, let me know if you have any other modifications you'd like to see.
  19. I thought Jaro Tapal looked fine, but more importantly there are so many aliens in SW that they've made look good with that live-action money, I think they can handle it. I think my next list is for rogue one, since I've got the other live action films down. I think next up it'll go: Mandalorian/tbobf wave (just since we've had so many mando sets recently and there's not much to do with tbobf), live action non-skywalker saga CMF, then the three major animated series (CW, BB, Rebels), an animation CMF, a wave and CMF for the games, and a wave and CMF for legends material such as 03 clone wars and visions. I figure I'll add a 4+ slot to my list too. This list was hard, there are so many great Rogue one sets that could be made, but I didn't want to make it larger than my other wave list. Some sets that didn't make the cut but I totally wanted include a blue squadron X-wing, the citadel, a Zeta shuttle... agh there's just so much from this movie. It seemed to be so well received too, and all kids I know loved it. I wonder if lego's done research into it and found kids wouldn't buy it, or if they're just being out of touch. RO wave: Microfighters: TIE Reaper ($9.99): Death trooper Zeta shuttle ($9.99): Bodhi Rook U-wing Vs AT-ACT ($19.99): AT-ACT driver and U-wing pilot. Small build consisting of a tan 4x4 curved plate with a little fern on it. Battle Packs: Scarif Defenders battle pack ($14.99): 3x shoretrooper, 1x shoretrooper squad leader. Build is a small portion of the landing pad with an orange crate. Scarif Rebels battle pack ($14.99): 1x rebel trooper (gray hoth helmet), 1x rebel trooper (steel pot helmet), 2x rebel trooper (endor style helmet). Comes with a build of some Scarif beach terrain with a small radar dish. Duel: Citadel Showdown ($19.99): The top of the citadel ("reset antenna alignment") with the radar dish and catwalk. Comes with Jyn Erso and Director Krennic. System sets: Scarif Ambush ($29.99): Build of a scarif switch with some palm trees, terrain, and a function for rebels to pop out of the foilage. Comes with Chirrut Imwe, a rebel trooper (steel pot hat) and a stormtrooper. Turbolaser Turret ($39.99): Eadu turbolaser turret with Director Krennic, a death trooper, Jyn Erso (eadu), and Galen Erso. Hovertank Ambush ($69.99): Larger hovertank build (that fits the full crew) with two small building facades and a cable with some banners between them. There's explode functions on both the facades and the front of the tank. Comes with 3x hovertank pilots (driver, commander, gunner), Jyn Erso (hooded), Cassian Andor, and Saw Guerrera. TIE Reaper ($89.99): TIE reaper with 1x TIE pilot, 4x death trooper, 1x death trooper commander, Baze Malbus, and a rebel trooper (that helmet that looks vaguely like a tan fleet trooper helmet) U-wing ($119.99): Larger U-wing with a correct cockpit containing room for both pilots as well as room for 8-10 troops inside. Comes with 2x U-wing pilot, Bistan, General Draven, 2x rebel trooper (steel pot helmet), 2x stormtrooper, and a Shoretrooper. AT-ACT ($179.99): Large AT-ACT with the removable cargo unit. Comes with 2x AT-ACT pilot, Director Krennic, 2x shoretrooper, 1x shoretrooper captain, Bodhi Rook, Cassian Andor (brown jacket), and Pao. Quotes: Battle of Scarif ($59.99): "Rebellions are built on hope". Microscale Scarif with an AT-ACT, the citadel, TIE reaper, 2 U-wings (one shooting at the AT-ACT, one deploying troops), and 1 X-wing. One with the force ($79.99): "I'm one with the force, and the force is with me". Chirrut's walk to the master switch (one of the most badass scenes in star wars) with dents in the ground and parts representing laser bolts and explosions around him. Comes with Chirrut, 1x shoretrooper, and 2x stormtrooper. UCS/MBS: Agh, I love this movie so much, I'm gonna hit it with both. UCS U-wing Starfighter ($399.99): U-wing starfighter with full interior. Comes with (all in their scarif outfits) Cassian Andor, Jyn Erso, K-2SO, Bodhi Rook, Baze Malbus, and Chirrut Imwe. MBS Battle of Scarif ($349.99): Large Scarif Citadel with a landing pad and terrain around it. It's roughly circular in shape, centered around the citadel, and has a bit of water build around the edge. There's also a midi-scale U-wing that fits one pilot and 2 troopers. The Citadel interior includes the data room vault with the sort of climb to the top, and the hallways with sliding doors on the bottom. Comes with Jyn Erso, Cassian Andor (shirt, no jacket), Chirrut Imwe, Bodhi Rook, Baze Malbus, K-2SO, 5x rebel troopers (various helmets and clothing), 1x U-wing pilot, Director Krennic, 1x imperial officer, 2x imperial ground crew, 2x shoretrooper, 1x shoretrooper captain, 1x shoretrooper squad leader, 2x stormtrooper, and 2x death trooper. Next up is Clone Wars. Usually I split it into two waves, but I'll try to stick to one this time. EDIT: Been more than a week without anyone else posting? I'm gonna double it up again with two more: Clone Wars: Bad Batch: Next up I'll probably do another double up with both Rebels and the animation CMF. After that'll be Mando and Tbobf, then Kenobi and the live-action CMF, then a videogame wave and cmf. I'm gonna try and get them all out within a week and a half or so because I want to get another wishlist moc wave made before I leave for college in mid-august. So, if you've got any set ideas of your own you want to see made, let me know!
  20. I'm glad she's got comparable armor to a rebel trooper now. (And yeah, I get characters like Han exist, but Omega would totally want her own BB suit, and she's a soldier. She'd want armor.) Makes for a more interesting figure, anyway. I generally don't think it's bad to have exclusive figures, but some get on my nerves. My opinion is that the main characters should generally be available in one or two of their more common outfits in a sub$50 set every few years, but if season 2 omega is in a cheaper set, I don't have a problem with season 1 omega being exclusive to the justifier. That said, if we don't get a gideon soon, that's gonna annoy me. He's the main villain of the most popular star wars property of the past decade, he should be available in a set at the very least under $100 at some point.
  21. Complete long shot, but if we do get a gungi (which is probably not happening) I hope he has a new mold. His fur is different from Chewie's, and he has the shoulder pauldron. I didn't realize Omega had a full new outfit, I thought it was just a hat...if they're doing a new outfit, for god's sake hunter, give her some armor! I know she's a kid, but with the Fett DNA she should at least be able to have a chestplate!
  22. I still don't see the color difference in those images, might just be my eyes. As for the second part of that, if we're gonna go there, wouldn't it make more sense to use the color best representing the character (again, might just be my eyes) than to have different colors correspond to different ethnicities regardless of skin tone? No reason for light nougat to be exclusive to characters played by actors of European descent. And again, I don't really care about this much, just a minor nitpick. But now that I've had to look at the figure again over the skin tone, I've noticed his beard is now a solid color rather than the more textured look of his RO face, which is even more annoying. With how much the both trailers showed the republic commandos, I'm crossing my fingers that they'll be a significant enough part of the plot to warrant figures. Cody definately seems to have some real screen time here as well, though with a new armor color. And where's the love for my boi Gungi! He probably won't get a figure The new designs are pretty cool. Love that their armor is more mismatched and colorful, and the cloth elements to it, it really gives you the sense they're no longer part of an official army and have hit some rougher times. I do wish they'd kept the color red in it, since we see red associated with the good guys so little, but if the orange means there is a correlation to the 212th, I'm all for it.
  23. Definately the most impressive of your Mocs so far. I like the roof of the outpost and the one droid getting absolutely shot up. I've really got to get started on the 12x12s, I've got a few ideas but haven't started building yet.
