  1. This is the big sticking point for me. If the set has two figs- not even jabba- and no interior, it doesn't sell. Not even close. This isn't a- nobody's a massive fan of the Khetanna. This would be like if they released Mos Eisley with Wuher and Han, and it was just the exterior of the building. That set would have gone from the bestseller it is to rivaling the Black Panther Bust and Elongated Hulkbuster in terms of discounts.
  2. I know we knew it was coming for a long time, but finally having a set number for it really makes me happy. This must happen. I will not settle for anything less than a brick-for-brick remake of that build and it's inclusion in the secret wars movie. I think the core guardians 1 team is a given, and I think Nebula has a fair shot, but I don't know if we'll get Korath. I think a re-used Ronan is more likely to be included as the sole villain of the set.
  3. Reliable leakers say there are 5 batman sets coming this year, and I believe they're stated to all be BTAS, though I'm not quite as confident on that. One is the skyline of course, and one is supposed to be a buildable figure, so there's three spots left for system BTAS sets. Another inmate joins the aslume.
  4. Or neither- I think a buildable figure with just Thor is likely. Remember it could easily be based on the first battle of the film, the one where Surter is more realistically sized to what he'd be at a $25 price point than the one the size of a city at the end of the film. Why wouldn't you want hi in a cheaper set? The cheapest one on BL is currently around $45. I would put money down on it being a buildable figure like Spider-Man, just with a Thor minifig included. Maybe downsized slightly, but the same general principle.
  5. I suppose that's possible, but I feel factory leaks rarely manage to get that much. Even if it's not just a single part, it's usually only the unique parts of the fig- malak's cape, for example, isn't something I think we'd see, nor are fives's antenna and gun. Of course the guy could have applied them at home, but we don't usually see that with these sorts of leaks either. In addition, I can't remember the last time a cloth element leaked. If the barge has more than the 2 figs rumored (It has to, right? There's no way they only do 2), I'm sure Max Rebo will show up. That said, the skeleton crew ship almost HAS to have that mold- one of the main kids is max rebo's species, so not including it would be like if the stranger things set didn't have one of the kids), so we can't say for sure that it's in the barge. hahaha but realistically speaking, there's a reason we don't see full sets leak from the factory- the risk/reward is too low. The benefit is really only from the unique elements, so the risk of removing parts that prove nothing/won't sell for a ton on ebay doesn't pay off. The only way we'd see it is if someone somehow managed to smuggle a NISB set out of the factory, and... man, said factory would have to have absolutely 0 security for someone not to notice that. You can't exactly slip a $70 set into your back pocket.
  6. My thoughts- Milano- excellent addition to the "plane or ship at near-UCS level" line. I hope it's got the full guardians 1 crew. Iron Legion vs Ultron Bots: easy buy, excellent way to fill out both the tower and the final battle set. I'll definitely pick up one- I like the iron legion drone design a lot and to get them for this cheap is awesome. Sutur battle- a nice cheap set to have Thor on shelves, and I'm sure Sutur will look cool. Iron Man 4+ motorcycle- it's a 4+ set, good for young kids who want an iron man. Hope a villain figure is included. Avengers battle- I wonder what this is. Maybe something like a remake of the 2012 set with hulk? AoU final battle-sounds awesome, a great use of the black base style. Helicarrier midi scale is cool, I like that they're branching out to other themes for the midi scale. Potted Groo- NO. COME ON. THIS IS THE THIRD YEAR IN A ROW. STOP MAKING LARGE BUILDIBLE GROOTS. DO SOMETHING ELSE
  7. I think canonically it's single blade and blaster, though I couldn't tell you where I heard that. Either way, it's supposedly fallen order cal, so it'll likely be just the single blade. Not neccesarily- it may just mean we aren't getting Fallen Order sets, but a Survivor Mantis may still come at some point. @ArrowBricks brought up that if real, it's likely for the skeleton crew set, since one of the main kids is max rebo's species. It is weird- we know people have them, since they got all of fives and malak, and even the plaque. It's odd that they chose not to reveal the full set.
  8. Sorry to drop in here like this, but whatever you think about the quality of the recent star wars content, the sales of star wars legos are still pretty high. Lego's not abandoning that cash cow anytime soon. That doesn't mean that TLG can't have their own space theme, though. So long as it's not too similar to star wars, they can coexist without cannibalizing eachother. Brightly colored ships with a different aesthetic, a focus on other aspects than combat (though I'm sure there's ways to make a combat-oriented space theme that doesn't feel like it's aping star wars), etc.
  9. I've been saying since endgame that they should have done a battle pack of each side's army- Thanos's legion ($14.99): 2x outrider, 1x chitauri, 1x sakaarian. Build is one of those big ape things falcon stabs his wings through. Earth's defenders ($14.99): 1x ravager, 1x kamar-taj sorcerer, 1x asgardian, 1x wakandan. Build is a larger-than-normal portal with a flying motorbike for the ravager. Edit- nope, now I'm going and adding ones for your suggestions that weren't in the above- Ultron sentries ($14.99): 3x ultron sentry, 1x ultron sentry (damaged- opposing transparent limbs and damage printing). Build is an assembly module with a small turret. Shield Agents (not film based, $14.99): 1x shield pilot (oxygen mask, jumpsuit with straps), 2x shield trooper (face-concealing helmets, armor), 1x shield agent (jumpsuit- face and hair are Sharon Carter's). Build is a mall shield hulkbuster unit like from the Earth's Mightiest Heroes cartoon. Guardians battle ($14.99): 2x sakarrian, 2x nova corps trooper. Build is a sakaarian craft. and one more while we're at it- Hydra Agents ($14.99): 2x hydra agent (green jumpsuits), 1x hydra heavy trooper (armor and helmet), 1x hydra assassin (Viper)
  10. I saw that you quoted me and had a chill run down my spine that I'd misspelled definitely again. But yeah, a light side palpatine with a white lightsaber would be awesome. It reminds me of the magistrate from the ninth jedi- someone who manipulates the situation and is twelve steps ahead, but has heroic intentions. (by the way, they NEED to greenlight that show- the creator said it was a pilot, and it's some of the most fun I've had watching star wars in a decade) I think there's definitely something there- Shatele Shan is the spitting image of Bastila (and of course literally her descendent), and there are many characters and outfits similar to that of KOTOR. That's an excellent point, and puts the set based in the OT era, which makes a lot more sense for a set as out there as this than the sequel era. That said, I can't imagine them doing a dark side OT falcon without dark side Han/Luke/Leia. While we could get evil Han since there's one figure left, I'd think at least they'd swap c-3po for luke.
  11. I would love that, but as the two never fought in the film (and more importantly, Marvel isn't that generous with the figs anymore), I don't know if we'll see it.
  12. It is a really odd figure loadout. Part of me wonders if it IS a Rise of Skywalker thing and vader is the anniversary figure. The additional figure would hopefully then be Good Palpatine, which would be so cool to see. I'm pretty hard set on it being Jar Jar in watcher robes now.
  13. YUP. I'm currently using Reaper from Overwatch's head for him, but it really doesn't work. It gets the general vibe across, but it's not a T-visor. My Jedi Knight revan is even worse- just a blank flat silver head. Yup. I really hope they manage to sneak revan's helmet into something as a head print, at least- maybe if we ever got a small playset for the duel on Dryden's yacht, Luthen's museum, or Doc Ondar's, but none of those are likely. Sort of. Most of the official material displayed him in his Darth Revan outfit, even if with a different colored saber, but there are some other outfits that have gained some fame recently. You can change your appearance in the KOTOR game, and the mobile Game Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes used that outfit for their Jedi Knight Revan character, and their version has since gone on to get action figures and a funko pop. If lego wants to do an anniversary Revan, it'll most likely be that. (And on the bright side, he has the same helmet under the hood, so the head print would work for sith revan, meaning you'd just need a chestplate with black arms, legs, and hood/cape for his sith version.) There's also been a lot of speculation about Revan Reborn coming to said mobile game. Revan Reborn (which generally is just revan after his jedi and sith arcs, when he's fighting the eternal emperor and afterwards) doesn't have a set visual appearance, though given his sith robes are black and jedi robes are white, I'd guess we'll see brown or gray robes with both his red and purple sabers. I would say lego won't do this, as there's not yet any visual appearance, but I would also have said they won't do white Vader from an old infinities comic, or a gungan wearing blue, so... Speaking of the gungan wearing blue, who does everyone think he's meant to be? I'm really scratching my head, as every other character is a good/evil version of an existing one, and one would assume darth jar jar would wear black robes. I can only think of two things, and neither are very likely. 1: Jar Jar's father George R Binks wears a navy blue sailor outfit in an infinities story, but given he tries to shoot himself over having a son like jar jar, I doubt lego would do it even in a wave already incorporating infinities characters. 2: Marvel's watchers-characters who can see other realities/dimensions, and one of whom is a major character in the what if animated series- have blue robes...
  14. Evil Venom shows up a in a proportionate amount of marvel sets and figures compared to the other evil spider man villains. Not complaining about a new exclusive fig, but didn't we just get one of these marvel encyclopedias? I wish. I feel like a solid 50% of superheroes go through this at least once in any show or comic focused on them. I remember I used to watch the CW flash show in it's earlier seasons and it felt like in seasons 2 and 3 barry was losing his powers multiple times a season.
  15. Yeah, the jaw is a little bulky, but it's not a huge deal to me. Dual-molding is par for the course, though we are seeing that they're doing a fair bit of detail on these anniversary figs (Malak's new jaw mold, Five's arm printing). Based on these two, I wouldn't be surprised if we got a printed poncho (and maybe even arm printing or a new mold for his hilt) for Cal, a new Lola mold for young leia, etc. It is weird that there are two old republic era sith with very similar names who have white skin, are bald, and have breathing prosthetics covering their mouth/jaws, but Malgus wore black and lived long after Malak, fighting Revan's descendent Shatele Shan, whereas Malak lived earlier, wore red, and fought Revan. If someone gives voldermort a CPAP machine, we're all in trouble.
  16. Puresh's betrayal is what started this trend, I believe. But yup, I am now officially Malak-free. I might do something around the set's release- we'll see- but it won't be eating a plushie. This is a very mature and reasonable take, and I respect it. My issue with people like MandR is that 1): they don't handle their critiques in a mature and reasonable way, and I believe they need to do so MORE than random internet posters like us because they have thousands of kids following them, and 2): it's hypocritical. They'll scream into the heavens and throw hyperbole up the wall about how anti-prequel lego is or how terrible the clones are, and then the bulk-buy the sets they complain about so much. If the grey baseplate personalities articulated their critiques like you did here, and then either didn't buy the set, or bought one copy for review, I'd respect it. As-is, even putting aside my dislike for the practice of buying so many copies early enough on that it effects other people's ability to obtain them, buying as many copies as they do after complaining as much as they do shows they're either putting on an act with their negativity (which is most likely the case) or they can't stop themselves from buying large numbers of sets they genuinely believe aren't worth it. I'm planning on this too- I hope he doesn't cost too much, but I think it's gonna be awhile before we see a reasonable price on him. KOTOR figure, in a $100 set, and the only figure in said set besides R2- I could see this guy going for $30. And I totally respect this practice. If you think the figures are as much of a quality drop as you say, not purchasing the sets with them is a great way to let lego know, and it's not hypocritical like many of these youtube grey baseplate folks. I will say, lego's really never gotten cloth pauldrons right. They sit too low on the arm/droop too much, or it's like this where it's completely flat with nothing on the sides. That's not an excuse for this one- personally I'm going to put a neck bracket on each side for a few days to try and get it creased right- but I'm not sure it would be more accurate if it was like Rex's pauldron. The plastic pauldron is by far the best in terms of overall shaping, but it adds too much height to the figure. It's definitely a compromise, but as a fan of cloth elements in general, I'm OK with how they tend to do them. The best way here would clearly have been a folded cloth with 3 neck holes, though. You're thinking of a different Character, Malgus. He has a different breathing device type thing that looks more like vader's and less like a large jaw. (Though given they made two white skinned characters with very similar names and prosthetic jaw areas, I totally understand the confusion. I thought they were the same guy until my late teens.) Yeah hunter's (and the post action battle hoth rebels) I do take more of an issue with- it's pretty lethargic to not to put the backpack on when they're in a set where the backpack wouldn't hinder function- but I still believe fives will have one. He's not sitting in a small space like Hunter or Echo, he's not part of the action battle gimmick, and he's not meant to sit on the seat element like the snowtroopers. This is the first time he's being produced. I really do think lego will give him one, but if they don't, I will have a larger issue with it than the other figures, since there's no reason to leave it out.
  17. Oh, don't get me wrong, I don't either. I think the Kamas are something lego is legitimately doing poorly- they should be including cloth or dual molding. It's an issue, just not one that warrants as much vitriol as it does, or those weird "lego secretly hates the prequels and/or wants prequel sets to fail" theories that pop up all over social media, and even here sometimes. The helmet holes I will disagree on- this is a creative toy at the end of the day, and having two separate molds for the same helmet, one where kids can't attach rangefinders/antenna/etc, limits playability and customizability. If we only need the holes on figures using accessories covering them, all mando helmets should have either no holes or only a hole on the right side of the helmet. But if lego made it so generic troops didn't have helmet holes, my response would be something like "this is a bad move in my opinion, lego should have kept the holes, it adds playability" not a video where I angrily explain that lego thinks we're stupid and the removal of the playability means they hate children or something, then proceed to buy 50 copies of the helmet hole-less clone battle pack. You're 100% right, and I should have specified- I was meaning more the bigger guys like MandR and Lifebricks. The younger/smaller ones are often just kids/young adults caught up in the frenzy.
  18. EXACTLY. I really do despise this habit of complaining about the smallest parts of a set, and then buying so many copies that you're legitimately disrupting the ability of people in your area to find them in-store. It's so disingenuous. If you legitimately believe these issues are serious enough to make video after video complaining about, why are you buying so many of the set? (The real answer is assumably that they get views/money from having the largest gray baseplate armies, but also from ragebait/controversy baiting by complaining so much about stuff. I doubt/hope most of these guys don't actually care as much about helmet holes on their plastic toys as they act in their videos. It's a personality put on for the videos, which I somewhat respect from a business level, but it does impact the lego community here by breeding this generation of constant complaints about clones not being perfect on social media)
  19. I 100% agree, and I'm not really sure why this is being debated at all. The vast majority of the missing SW/Marvel skins were those in battle passes, and I don't believe we have a single battle pass licensed skin in the game as a lego figure, at least not one pre-lego update (That said, while I've seen a lot about the figures made for the lego update, I don't play the game, so I don't know for sure.)
  20. I don't think it'll be the conference room, then- it seems really odd to me that they'd make that room without Tarkin. I'm speaking as someone who does think lego either needs to bring cloth kamas back or dual-mold, but c'mon, man. Are you really going to say the current clones are worse than the old ones?
  21. Yup. Especially since it's got Cal, I think it's much more likely we'll see him, Vader, and at least two of Tarkin/Motti/Tagge/etc, alongside 1-2 generic troopers. Yeah. This might just be my inclination against being a fan of his due to his MandR style internet personality, but I think he does tend to be sketchy with info. Falconfan has said it was young leia, which fits a majority of the clues, even if that whole situation was pretty messy. Yeah, we've known about the special anniversary figures for some time now. (also important to note that I don't think we have the actual figure list for the death star confirmed besides Cal)
  22. I swear the armored spider-man from the 90s series had an uncle ben who lived and said more or less that to his peter. Evil Deadpool sounds like an actual thing Deadpool would do. But I'd be careful about that last one- for every punisher logo on a hillbilly's old pickup truck there's one on a United States Army tank or a marine's bulletproof vest. Bro destroyed echo harder than disney+. Evil Avengers prevent crime (wait, this is literally just civil war 2015), Evil Guardians of the Galaxy are morally upstanding heroes who don't steal and work entirely within the law, but consider eachother coworkers, not friends or family. Evil Ghost Rider is the spirit of forgiveness. Evil Punisher has an incredibly strict no-kill rule. Evil Doctor Strange is a tech genius who hates magic.
  23. Never more than 12... Ah, thank you! Ok. I am pretty confident that's a cloth piece- look at the thinness of it. If it was plastic, they would likely also have made it fold over the sides like the old plastic pauldron. On the back, yeah, but the front is the issue. Sort of like the kenobi figure from the scythe. Not a big deal, but a little annoying. To be fair, though we didn't like them, there were reasons for these. Snowtroopers needed to fit in the AT-AT seats, the hoth troops are lazy carryovers from their loss of backpacks due to how they were set up in the action battle sets, IIRC, and the bad batch needed to fit in their shuttle (and since the pilot seat had more room, Tech got his backpack. Now that said, these aren't great reasons, but there's still some sort of logic there. Fives has nothing to fit into or sit on, so he should have one. I don't know how much of it is legit and how much is amped up for views, but yeah. I want to be careful because even though he's made himself a public personality, he does read the forum, but he definitely complains about a lot of things that really don't warrant that level of anger. I understand wanting to improve issues, but things like the helmet holes are a non-issue.
  24. I wish I had your optimism. Unfortunately, one of them is a buildable figure of some sort, so no minifigs in that one. And as much as I'd love them to pump out 5 figs on top of the 4 confirmed (batman, joker, harley, catwoman) and 2 rumored (mr freeze and phantasm), that's far to generous for how many new figs we tend to get in this theme. We're gonna be lucky if Robin shows up, much less any villains beyond the 5 rumored (Which, I just want to point out, would be the most villains in a system wave since 2020. (for the purposes of this list, I'm not counting businessmen consisting of re-used parts as villains even if they had a villainous role in the movie) 3 in 2023- Jonkler, Burton Catwoman, Burton Penguin. 4 in 2022- Reeves Riddler, Reeves Catwoman, Reeves Penguin, Harley, 4 in 2021- (Penguin, Harley, Jonkler, Nolan scarecrow) Also note that every villain not based on one of the live action films in the last three years has been Jonkler, Penguin, or Harley, so even just getting Freeze and Phantasm is nuts.
  25. Yeah, that takes out a solid 90% of star wars creatures. There's a set coming with some sort of buildable creature (evidently having more than 2 eyes) and Young Leia as an anniversary figure. How about one of the Bigger Fish from TPM? It would fit with the anniversary, and with lego making absolutely absurd sets.
