Ongoing Transformers Rumors and Discussion

TandNbricks- a leaker on instragram who seems to be somewhat reputable. Now that's just Prime. -
The last non-Batman DC set was in 2020- a tie-in for wonder woman 2, and the only DC film scheduled for this year is Joker 2. A Superman movie is coming in 2025, but it's not until July of that year, so there is no chance the sets for it release in 2024. It's pretty safe to say the only sets this year will be batman, as they have been for all comic and legacy film sets since 2020 CMF and the 2018 sets.

Indiana Jones 2023 - Rumors & Discussion
Mandalorianknight replied to Pulp Detective's topic in LEGO Licensed
I liked the design and would likely have purchased the set. I rewatched ToD recently and while it's certainly a product of the 80s and the worst of the OT if for nothing else than Willie's screaming (Note to Spielberg- you can make it clear indy finds her annoying without making me want to cringe every time she shows up on screen), it isn't as bad as people say- they don't act like the cult is in any way emblematic of indian culture or hinduism. It actually makes kind of a nice parallel- the cult uses Kali in a similar manner to how the nazis co-opted norse deities. I could see the argument for removing the Kali statue, as it is a real-world deity, even if the cult worshipping it isn't. But the rest of the set seemed fun. My guy. It is over. The video game in development doesn't change anything in regards to the lego sets. A MOVIE didn't get it's on lego sets. The game won't. And while I'm not super up to date on rumors, IIRC the rumored show (Not about young indy but about Marion's Father in his early days) was cancelled before really any development was done. In fact, Lucasfilm's been pretty public about stepping back from everything but Star Wars to focus on that property. We won't see any indy movies or shows anytime soon. The point is there are no sets coming anytime soon. There's nothing about it to discuss. The theme came back for a couple of sets and left again. Maybe at some point it'll return again, but for the foreseeable future, LEGO INDIANA JONES IS DEAD. -

Yup! More transformers is coming! Unfortunately, I don't think we'll see any beast wars stuff for some time. For one thing, the best time to do that would have been last year for Rise of the Beasts. But in general, it suffers from two major roadblocks- the relevance of the characters and the complexity of the transformation. The G1 characters are far and away more popular than beast wars, so I think we'd see most of the original G1 cast before Primal or Dinobot. Not just because they're more iconic, but because the G1 characters are blocky and have simpler transformations- which is exactly what lego needs. It's a lot easier for lego to make a geometric robot that transforms into a truck or car or plane than it is a much more rounded one that turns into a velociraptor or gorilla. -

My guy, I'm sorry, I've been trying my best to be accommodating and play devil's advocate in favor of the theme, but I've got no other way to say this- THERE ARE NO INDY SETS COMING THIS YEAR, I'M SORRY, BUT THAT IS THE TRUTH. The video you linked as your evidence the temple is coming literally says "sadly this set is still not releasing" as like THE FIRST SENTANCE TALKING ABOUT IT. He then just talks about the figure from the old test run that leaked, which we already discussed. What part of that video makes you think the temple is coming this year? Respectfully, did you watch it? I truly do appreciate the optimism but at a certain point you have to face reality. We have no leaks or rumors of any sets on the horizon for indy. You need to let it go. -

7 figures in a $55 set is pretty solid, but yeah, when 5 are repeats, either vader needs that torso or they need to go absolutely HAM on fives's printing. Same here, if the set's build matches with the figure loadout, it's an easy contender for the upper echelon of system SW sets. -

Luckily (but unluckily for your- and my- wallet), there is more lego transformers coming. Like I said, a fairly reliable source hinted pretty heavily at it. No leaks ever pointed to the set(s) being the ones codenamed orange, that was purely speculation from this thread. It's just likely going to be an icons set and not some weird non-transforming stuff based on transformers one. -

Not fully made up vehicles, but they will throw things into scenes they weren't in. Off the top of my head, they threw two speeders into the havoc maruader set that didn't make sense- Hunter used that lime speeder ONCE, in a civilian outfit, and during a fight with Fennec Shand, and I don't believe crosshair used the imperial BARC during the show at all. I don't think they'll put two barcs in the set- one of them needs to have the grogu sidecar, and they love oversizing the barcs- but lego definitely will include things that don't fit the scene they're portraying. Not to mention it somehow manages to find an iconic scene from the OT that hasn't had a dedicated set yet! Still boggles my mind that we've never had a playset of the opening scene- in fact, we've never had a tantive IV/blockade runner set including vader/stormtroopers. Obviously the figs all exist, but this will be the first time that that an official set contains that scene. -

I don't actually think this is a sad thing for transformers fans. The transformers rumors didn't start with orange, TandNbricks- a leaker on instragram- made some sort of teaser post- alongside things we know are coming (Barad-Dur, Batman The Animated Series sets, etc), and things that have been heavily rumored (lego fortnite sets, sonic 3 sets), with a clip of a lego optimus prime (Not the official set, it's a render of someone's MOC aiming ion blasters at the screen) This just makes it more likely the next transformer will be another icons set (Again, likely Bee, Megatron, or Soundwave) as opposed to four non-transforming SCCBS figs. -

I doubt they'd change what type of anniversary figs they do for the same anniversary, so are you talking about 2029, or what? That's good to know. I think it's safe to say that unless someone reliable suggests there will be 25th back printing, we have nothing to worry about. Also, I looked on his instagram and it turns out he's the gentleman I mentioned earlier who purchased 16 copies of the new battle pack before it even released. -

How reliable is Lifebricks? I know he's one of the MandR type guys, but I don't remember if he's a leaker himself, and I don't think I've heard of the visual dictionary update w/ new printing before. Assuming this is legit, I don't think we have to panic yet. It doesn't 100% mean they'll have back printing. It could just be that figure, or it could be a typo and they just mean it's a 25th anniversary fig with exclusive printing. (These books are chock-full of translation errors and typos. No shame on the author, but you're a billion dollar company lego, you can hire an editor. I'll do it.) -

Haven't heard that anywhere, but for the two more fan-favorite ones, it's not as big of a deal (Five's backpack, Malak's cape) -

Don't get me wrong, it definitely does- at the very least, getting a diorama or two every year would probably sell just fine- I was just saying I don't think the nanofig's sale price is the evidence for the theme's popularity some will take it as. -

I would say this is evidence that the theme still has a wide appeal, but I'm guessing the reason it sold for so much is more because of how rare a lego element it is than the specific subject matter. -
Marvel Superheroes 2023 - Rumors & Discussion

I think the change was made early enough in the film's production that even with the original supposed release (february, right?), they would have had time to change it. 20 months might be a little longer than the turnaround actually is- aside from the $110 set assumably taking longer to design than a $55 one, we don't know for sure that they started in december 2021. I wouldn't be surprised if they already had the 2022 slots chosen at that time, or if the tower impacted other choices such as doing the Quinjet at that general price point in january 2023. first of all, you're totally right- and that's not even an MCU specific issue, I think it was best exemplified by Keaton's suit in The Flash movie literally just being the 1989 suit with a ton of extra stripes/lines. Why do the costume designers think these suits need a billion lines? Though I don't know I've ever heard of Rulk being associated with business suits- I'm sure he's worn one at some point, but I feel like he's usually in black shorts. The suit's more of a joe fixit thing. (The only thing that can save marvel is a joe fixit trilogy that's a 1-1 ripoff of the godfather but with a large CGI joe fixit in Micheal Corleone's place. No characters will at any point reference the fact that he's the hulk) -

It is a nice set. While the Marauder is a little small, it looks great, and can be compacted well. I've currently got it sitting on my "hero ship" shelf alongside the ghost, falcon, Razor Crest, Ahsoka's shuttle, and TBOBF era Slave One. Was the speeder bike chase (I assume that's the $70 endor set, though it's $80 at the retailers around me) that well-recieved? The speeders might be the best yet, but I don't know that it looks all that great with only the two trees. Yeah, I know you only really care about new figs, but to be fair, the set itself is something we've never had before, and on a value level, 7 figs in a set that cheap is great, especially since IIRC the piece count isn't super low. That would be nice, but I don't think we'll get that anytime soon. It's funny to me that the battle packs keep including downsized versions of canon clone vehicles when a fig scaled BARC with sidecar would be perfect for the $20 battle packs. That logo is perfect- R2 illuminating a hologram of the lego brick as a callback to the leia hologram, it being a lego R2, that classic metallic, almost kenner-like style. This would imply they're all full-sized- the endor pack had 5, with two being the smaller style. So your predictions seem pretty likely- it's probably not going to be child anakin or another R2. -

I've had a good number. 212th trooper in 2014, TIE pilot in 2016, 501st trooper in 2020, etc. Luckily, lego will replace the part if you call them about it. Do you live in a more rural area? I live in a suburb of Chicago and me and my friends were searching stores in multiple suburbs we didn't even live in before we found anything. I do wonder what the appeal of that set is meant to be. That BARC Speeder is either going to be giant for $30, or the set'll be super overpriced. 501st troopers are readily available (I think the amount of people who care about having a generic 501st trooper with helmet holes but don't realize you can/don't want to get them by buying the specialist and 332nd pack for a much greater clone-cost ratio is a pretty small amount), and Grogu is everywhere. Lego seems to be banking on Kellaran, who is cool, but I don't think he can carry a set by himself. I am also excited. If the Tantive IV hallway set is done well, given the subject matter and figure count, it might be a contender for top 10 system star wars sets. -

This is the worst I've seen for a wide-release lego set- it's those people who buy literal scores of copies. Like, I get that you want an army, but try to restrain yourself to, like 6-8copies in the opening week. These guys who post hauls of 50+ of them drive me nuts. I saw a guy post 16 copies before the set even released. -

Yup, and if he couldn't be bothered to do it for the character that made him a household name, he's not gonna do it for a marvel movie. It's such a weird mistake. It's clearly not the same suit- how does lego not have a quality control guy for this? -

In The Rise of Skywalker, Harrsion ford's... force ghost? Leia Projection? has facial hair. Based on the outfit and his age, it's clearly meant to be han in The Force Awakens, where he had no facial hair. I don't know if it's been confirmed, but given Harrison Ford's attitude towards the movie, I'd assume he just couldn't be bothered to shave. (Which, yeah. I wouldn't want to for that movie either) -

I say this would be a lame twist, but I know people who were SHOCKED by mysterio, so... not as hard as joe fixit goes This wouldn't be the first time Ford decided not to keep his facial hair level accurate to the character he's playing (coughs in han solo), so this wouldn't surprise me. -

I'm not sure transformers: one has a chance at being a spider-man level success. Putting aside some of the stranger things we've heard about the film (again, they can't transform), the live action movies haven't been doing well at the box office. I agree Optimus and bee are recognizable enough and I'm sure they'll sell fine. The issue is that there's essentially no villains if D-16 is meant to be a hero in this part of the timeline. (Also, Elita as the only female transformer? She's one of the more popular female transformers, but Arcee is by far the most well-known. And there are countless others like Chromia, Moonracer, Windblade, etc) -

Since both 2023 501st battle packs routinely go for $15 now, you can purchase one of each, put the specialist/officer helmets on the generic 332nd troopers, and have the same ratio of generic 501st with helmet holes to cost as Beq's speeder, plus 6 other clones for each time you do it. Brick Fanatics reported it here, crediting a promobricks guy- Max Bautde. Seems reliable. I believe so, which is really good at $55.
