  1. Welcome to Eurobricks, but don't get your hopes up- I'd count anything more than Batman, Joker, Harley Quinn, and Robin in the non-skyline sets as a major win for the theme. Actually, I think I'd count Robin as a win at this point. It's been what, 3 years since his last system set? I believe they've been hinted at since the leak alleging they were replaced, which gives me some hope they're still coming in one of the sets.
  2. It's also important to note that lego has been having an issue of producing sets that don't go on to sell well as film tie-ins. Eternals sets sold terribly, and even sets for films that did well at the box office, like Black Panther 2, became big shelfwarmers. (The amount of Shuri's Sunbirds I see at walmarts...)
  3. Exactly. Moon Knight is sometimes Jewish, but the show's interpretation (I think his dad wore a Yamaka or Kippah at one point in the flashback) is a far cry from, say, the amount of focus Ms Marvel places on her religion and culture. (Or daredevil, but that was a different studio- I don't expect Born Again will have anywhere near the same focus on his Christianity, despite the name). (Or again, Red Guardian. A SOVIET who was patriotic for the soviet union, which is objectively one of the worst governments of all time by sheer numbers of innocents killed.) My guess is it'll be the avengers hulk but in red. Same mold, angry facial expression. However, it still directly contained a plotline in which the enemy's goal was to have russia and america fight eachother. Not a parrelel like Shield and the Red Room, a direct conflict between the Russian and American governments. The President of the United States was being encouraged to fire nukes at Russia by skrull Rhodey. Marvel fairly frequently includes politics or controversial real-world events, and not always through parallels like the Mandarin. It is not in any way logically inconsistent for them to include a character who's a patriot for a country that happens to currently be involved in a war in real life. I assume he'll not have the mustache if for no other reason than Harrison Ford doesn't seem to care about the amount of facial hair the character he's portraying is supposed to have.
  4. Yeah, no, I love the clone packs too, it'd just be nice to get other factions instead of 50%+ of battle packs being clone troopers. I went to four stores today looking for the new battle pack. Showed up at a lego store literally a single minute after it opened and their stock was immediately emptied. Went to two separate targets- nothing. Found three copies at kohl's- which was good, because I was with two friends of mine also searching. The demand for this pack has been insane- to go to four separate stores and come away with one copy each is nuts. (Most January sets were stocked, just not that set. Ironically, every copy of that juniors set was still there for all three stores, since the target audience of a 4+ set isn't rushing the shelves day one). There were still a number in stock online so I got three there, but I'd be surprised if I didn't get hit with the retroactive backorder like I have with other in-demand sets in the past. The lego store limited people to two copies a head, which was nice (even though I still didn't manage to get one), but it is a little annoying having to search for copies so much and then seeing people post their literal scores of the set online.
  5. Hasn't Phantasm been hinted at by reliable sources?
  6. This is a pretty big simplification. Ignoring the fact that there are a TON of people alive today who had to live under the soviet union, lost people to it, etc, while the name "soviet union" is gone, Russia continues to be a controversial country involved in wars. (And while the fullscale invasion of ukraine didn't happen until after BW released if I remember correctly, it's not like Russia hasn't been embroiled in controversies and conflicts over the entirety of that film's production. Also, the soviet union was, in terms of pure numbers killed, one of the single worst regimes in history. I don't think it really compares. Not to mention another pretty controversial country- one that is more comparable to the soviet union in that it also has interment camps for certain groups- is still actively around, and disney went a step above putting a hero working with the CCP by dealing with their government in REAL LIFE. Secret invasion dealt directly with tensions between russia and america- it's not like those haven't been high for the past decade. Not to mention this movie is meant to feature captain america fighting the sitting president of the united states, so it's not exactly like they're just trying to avoid controversy. Another addition here- don't pretend the Sabra hate started with the war. It started the second she was cast, well before the fullscale war broke out. There was conflict, but again, tons of countries have that sort of thing happening. Yup, and $25 more expensive. I'm glad to see this, and agree in general. I was looking forewords to Sabra, and while I didn't expect her to be adapted 1-1 as a hero working for the isreali government, I was if anything MORE excited for what I assumed we'd get- Sabra being introduced as one of Sam's friends or allies when he puts together a team to fight red hulk. I've had absolutely zero confidence in marvel handling "Captain America fights the sitting president of the united states" well, but I counted Sabra's introduction as a silver lining. Pretty sure he's talking about the marvels. But in general, critics and fans disagree on what makes a good movie, especially with franchises like Marvel. Large differences between critic and audience scores aren't uncommon with these films. For instance, most marvel fans I know thought Black Panther was great, but I don't know a single one in real life who'd put it at #1. Likewise, the most common #1s I hear are infinity war and winter soldier, and there are a number of other movies with critic scores above both. Bad news on the X-jet- I was at a couple targets today looking for other sets, and they all had the jet listed for $85, as did the lego store. The $60 thing must have been a mistake.
  7. It is absolutely awful to me to see that the almost unanimous reaction to this seems to be "They should cut Sabra/use her to criticize Isreal". The SOVIET UNION got a superhero- one who, mind you, seemed to agree with Soviet ideology not only in the comics but in the film. A country that killed more than 1.6 million not in warfare or counterterrorism, but in concentration camps. But an isreali counterterrorist hero? No, no that's not allowed. Sabra is the only character in the jet likely to be piloting it, if both Captain Falcon and Falcon come with wings and Red Hulk is a bigfig, so my guess is it'll be something like the black panther jet or 2017 captain america jet- a vaugly military jet, but not based on a specific model, and with non-military shooters and a nonmilitary color scheme (I'd guess lots of blue). I wouldn't be surprised if the jet wasn't meant to reflect anything from the film- plenty of MCU tie-in sets have done the same.
  8. Oh yeah, even just as a story feature it sounds awful, not to mention the sets. It's also at odds with basically every other continuity. They've done what you mention before, most notably- - but yeah, what's being described for the film sounds like a terrible idea for a transformers property. I was thinking about how the TLBM line was seperate from the superheroes line, but this is more similar to MCU sets and comic marvel sets, which share the same line. You're right, they wouldn't make a separate one. It was the star wars sequel strategy- put in things that are similar on a surface level but lack the actual soul of the property. Except in this case instead of different character themes and arcs, there just... wasn't anything. It had the surface similarities like the names, but not the personalities, and none of the depth of story fans knew. Combine that with the fact they made almost no effort to market to kids, and it was over before it began.
  9. I think these are the new ones. We might have known about the Luke mech, I can't remember if that leaked or was just speculated. Cody brickheadz should be fun. The multipack this year failed, It honestly might be a TPM multipack as the last one was ROTJ, but I can't see it selling well. I feel like the generation with nostalgia for the prequels is also the generation who would just want minifigs. I don't want this to come off as mean but I hope the (assumably pilot) luke mech makes the Queer Eye set and UCS Hulkbuster look like bestsellers. Let the mechs die, kill them if you have to. Marvel is showing what can be one with $10, disney-licensed sets. Look at the guardians headquarters, or the new one with the spider-man bike. You can make complete-looking system sets at that price. You don't need to make weird mechs. My guess is it's a budget thing- 501st troopers are fully re-used from the 2023 specialist helmet and 332nd trooper torso/legs, as others have pointed out. But I do think the set needed some bit of desirability beyond Kellaran, who is cool and all but not really a major character, and visually is just a bald human in jedi robes. You say this, but would you actually buy a TPM brickheadz multipack? Going off the last one, let's say it's Obi-Wan, Qui-Gon, Young Anakin, Jar Jar, and Maul or something. Would you pay $45? I just don't see the appeal- especially since even their OT brickheadz multipack failed. Yup. I have done so, I have about 8 normal 501st with helmet holes. The fact that 501st clones have been so much more readily available than imperial stormtroopers over the past 4 years is nuts. Not clones in general, the 501st legion ALONE.
  10. Red Hulk is nice, especially since the last one was 2017. Hope it doesn't have a harrison ford specific looking face print. The hoopty should hit 40% discounts at places like Target to be honest. I'd wait until then. As for the X-Jet, it looked like the target by me had it listed at $60- I didn't buy it so it might have been an error, but if it is, and you really want it, $60 isn't completely egregious. I'll still be waiting and crossing my fingers for it to go to $50, though. Worst case scenario they pull a Flash movie set and just remove Sabra, and we still get most of the set. Though I want to add it's so sad that our world's gotten to the point where an isreali hero could be cut from a film over being "a risky move". We've had SOVIET heroes, but no, can't have one from a Jewish state. (I want to make clear here I'm talking about the general chatter, not you specifically. You're definitely correct that this would be a risky move in the studio's eyes, I'm just sad the studio would consider it as such) Not in the mind of a rational human, but this is the Walt Disney Corporation. Removing Sabra for being Isreali is not above them. I do find it really funny that there's so much worry about that being controversial when the movie features captain america fighting the sitting US president. Not that they shouldn't be allowed to make a film where cap fights the president, but it's darkly funny to me that they're making a film like that and the fact that it has an Isreali hero is what they're worried about.
  11. I might not be articulating myself right- let me explain- Lego greenlit the cantina because of how iconic the location's interior is. The exterior is just a tan rectangle, which works in it's favor here as it means it is simple and cost-effective to make the outer part of the building, allowing for the vast majority of the set to be focused on the much more interesting interior. With the malibu mansion, lego has an issue. The exterior is not nearly as iconic as the tower, sanctum, etc, but it is a very complex shape. To make it look right, they're not going to have a lot of interior space. From the company that brought you the Hoopty and the X-jet comes... generic but not military-looking Fighter Jet. That's not quite as bad- obviously we have a big fig- but 223 pieces for $55 is still absurd. Even if we say Red Hulk accounts for $10 of the set- which he absolutely should not- that translates to the 200-ish piece jet and 3 figs being $45. Luckily for lego pricing in the future, I can't see this doing well, especially with what I've heard about the film itself and it's near-constant reshoots.
  12. Which is how the theme originally started- the only toa we see in the first issue or two of the comic were Kopaka and then Pohatu. Assumably they'd want Tahu front and center as well, since fire is always their main guy, but it would totally fit. Although I also think we'll see a new team- if nothing else, I think they'd want at least two female toa, and I also don't think they'd want to make a big change like that to one of the core six. SCCBS figs like the Core ninjago mechs or marvel figs. With no battle-in-a-box or even in the wave, a max of two recognizable characters (Prime and Bee- megatron does not look like megatron here, and while I love Elita she's really only ever had a starring role in the WRC trilogy), designs adults don't seem to be a fan of, and a basis in a new animated film instead of something like G1 (Or even Bay. The movies might have been a descending staircase to cinema hell, but the 07 designs are old enough to have nostalgia hit and could do well), the sets would probably bomb. Luckily, I don't think this is the case. Lego is very cautious with movie tie-ins nowadays, and I can't see them deciding to make four sets for transformers, especially with the above, but not more than one for most new marvel movies. I could see orange being Sonic 3, to be honest.
  13. The SW cantina's exterior is pretty much just walls, it's not very complex and as a rectangle it's maximizing the size of the interior compared to the size of the exterior. Most of the build is able to be devoted to interior space. The Malibu Mansion's design means that you really can't do something like that.
  14. I suppose launching with half a toa team and an enemy figure would work better than "hey here's the main 6 toa, 6 villagers, and your only enemy that's more than 6 parts is a static model of a spider. Shut up and enjoy the lack of lore and marketing.", but I doubt it's the plan. Every whisper about a return of the theme has said 2025, and I think if bionicle was returning this year, we'd know something by now. Hasbro does have a third option between Volkswagen Bee-tle and Bay Camero Bee. G1 inspired bees are usually either muscle cars now or just generic small civilian cars, like the Core Class I've got on my desk right now. I'm not saying Bee-tle is impossible, just that it might be more of a headache than lego wants to deal with. Most G1 fans I know seem to be fine with whatever megatron turns into so long as he looks like G1 megatron in bot mode. I do think soundwave is quite likely as well though, especially since it allows them to sell smaller casseticons/ have casseticon GWPs. I think so long as it's not a specific tank and it has a very clearly energon cannon (Trans-purple blast effects, maybe some other trans purple elements across it) and maybe some other altered details, it could work. After all, it's not fig-scaled, and if the optimus is anything to go off it'd be pretty hard to mistake for an actual tank. Though I suppose they could also try and make him a jet, like most of the cartoons do, or a heli like Animated, which had a bot mode pretty close to G1, just with heli blades on the back. Luckily, we'll know which one it's more likely to be the moment the price leaks. Bumblebee would be significantly cheaper than prime- I'd guess $100-130- and Megatron would be either the same price or more expensive. Aw, man. You might be right, unfortunately. The designs match, the set count matches, everything you've said fits. That said, I think transformers one would be an AWFUL idea for sets. Aside from , most adults I know are pretty skeptical about transformers one, and I don't know how kids would feel about having essentially no enemies in the sets unless they market megs as a villain, which it seems like they won't.
  15. I can exclusively confirm the set contains captain falcon (New face and torso prints, brick built wings, no leg printing), president ross (all parts re-uses), a stud shooter for ross, and 196 studs for ross to shoot.
  16. Most G1 styled merchandise now turns him into a tank, which is what I assume lego'd do. (It actually really just looks like G1 megatron with a treaded backpack- it's impressive how they turned the same bot mode into a completely different alt mode) Ironically, since Volkswagen rarely allows hasbro to make G1 bee a beetle, neither of them are likely to become their original alt mode- though it is more likely that lego agrees to Volkswagen's cut of the set (and volkswagen agrees to letting them make bee a beetle in the first place) than they agree to make their most realistic firearm yet.
  17. the set leaked in the same prelim as a variety of sets that have since leaked from other sources (I think one or two were confirmed but I don't remember for sure), so it's coming, we just don't know anything else about it.
  18. I'll get started on them right away- should have em by tomorrow! Just let me know what you think would be a fair price- I'll direct message you so you can send me the email you want the instructions sent to.
  19. I feel like it's got to be the dual then. It fits with other Maul rumors. @TandNbricks I know it's off topic, and don't feel pressure to divulge info you don't want to give out, but please, PLEASE tell me the transformers teaser is for a new set. Most likely. Lego's started to go nuts for anniversaries, and AOTC gives them another reason to spam clone troopers. And for some reason the first set released for it was a battle pack of battlefront 2017 figs
  20. completely agree. There are two real cases here where it's on lego- the first that it was structural issues, in which case... c'mon. Doesn't matter if you build MOCs or not, everyone on this forum could make the temple stable, a lego designer should be able to knock that out in an afternoon without adding much at all to the part count or cost. The second that it was for "brand values", which really gets on my nerves because no, you designed a set, designed the figures, made packaging, apparently produced at least one copy- you cannot tell me you got that far without considering "brand values". I think the most likely one is that Disney/Lucasfilm changed their minds on it and made lego scrap the set, since we know they don't seem to be a fan of ToD merchandise
  21. The star wars thread was discussing a teaser leaker TandNbricks made on his instagram. Most of the clues are hints at things we know are coming (BTAS sets, Barad-Dur) or have been rumored/are reasonable guesses (Lego Fortnite, sonic 3), but aside from the star wars stuff (AND ANOTHER TRANSFORMERS SET? 10/10 YEAR OFF THAT ALONE, DON'T NEED TO RELEASE ANY OTHER SETS BESIDES A NEW TRANSFORMER) there's a shot of the iron legion drones returning to the tower. I wouldn't necessarily say a system AoU tower is coming- lego doesn't like releasing the system version of a set within about two years of the UCS one having been released- but between that and the quicksilver torso, there's clearly AoU coming. My guess is a Strucker's Castle set is coming- the Iron Legion was in the area, even if not at the castle itself. Agreed. Remember, that list isn't all the remaining 2024 superheroes sets. There's no calendar on there, and I believe one of the leakers said as much when the list leaked.
  22. TandNbricks- a leaker on instragram- made some sort of teaser post- alongside things we know are coming (Barad-Dur, Batman The Animated Series sets, etc), and things that have been heavily rumored (lego fortnite sets, sonic 3 sets), there's a clip of a lego optimus prime (Not the official set, it's a render of someone's MOC aiming ion blasters at the screen) This is a pretty solid hint that more lego transformers are coming! I hold by my last post- it'll be Bumblebee or Megatron, though I think Soundwave also has a shot.
  23. but he hasn't hinted at the scimitar to my knowledge Could also mean we're finally getting another duel set. The clip is kind of odd if it is directly hinting at something- we never get a good shot of the ship proper, but it's also not where their fight was. It would be cool if the first one since they stopped doing the duels was a remake of the 1999 maul vs qui gon set.
  24. ...palpatine is the one orchestrating the events, but that'd be like saying the main villain of Avengers 1 or Guardians of the Galaxy 1 is Thanos. But to stay on topic, regardless of who you interpret as the main villain, Maul is the most dynamic villain for lego to put in sets, as kids would rather have him fighting the jedi than a printed Sidious hologram or a Nute Gunray figure. It's pretty clear he'll be in at least one TPM anniversary set.
  25. I liked the War Machine mech- enough to buy it despite those pre-bent joints- but I felt like there were some issues with it that could have been easily fixed by the designers. Namely the pre-bent joints. Here's my upgrade: The second set of stud shooters weren't an intended change, I just had them lying around. But you can see here his arms are a lot more posable, and the shoulder cannon has a joint now too. I also streamlined the color scheme to just DBG, trans-red, LBG, and gunmetal grey, excluding the tube and the double ball joint at the hips, since I don't have them in other colors. Here it is with the only other marvel mech I've got. I actually kept the pre-bent knees for now, since the iron man mech's tough to pose with stability, so the WM mech doesn't get knees until I have the time to make a solution. But I do like how this mech looks significantly bulkier than the $10 one, even without my modifications. Makes it feel worth the higher price tag. I also slightly upgraded the war machine figure, just by swapping the arms out for gunmetal ones and adding the shoulder cannon.
