  1. I recently picked up the Candy Mermaid at a 50% discount (which was the one I wanted the most), and this price was still a lot for me compared to what other discounts people have shared online. I might pick up some more of the Band Mates as well if their price is brought down any further.
  2. This should have been posted in the LEGO Action Figures category, but I can understand posting it in here because this sub forum is a lot more active and more people will see it.
  3. Amazing work! So much details!
  4. This absolutely amazing, excellent job! I love the torso build, and the weapon accessories are also very creative! I love how one of them sort-of looks like a Nuclear Bomb Mushroom Cloud!
  5. Ha ha, very nice use of the Jyn Erso buildable figure!
  6. Well, I am afraid the era of small new themes ended at the start of the 2010's decade. Nowdays, whenever we get new original themes it is something made to last at least a couple of waves, and we are no longer getting the fun one-off themes we had so many of a decade ago. Ever since Ninjago came to the scene, all other original themes have unfortunately stagnated, because LEGO prefers to dump all their ideas into a pre-existing theme instead of coming up with something completely new on its own.
  7. Well, there's your main reason why this theme was so polarizing... I am the exact opposite, I grew up watching a tone of anthro animated movies such as Disney's Robin Hood, and I don't find anything strange or bizzare about this concept, personally.
  8. I think Monkie Kid might end in 2022 after the usual three-year theme cycle (I don't think the theme was successful enough to get more) but as far as I know there are no new themes coming.
  9. Where exactly did they allow you to say that? I did the entire survey and there wasn't any such questions as "what products do you wish The LEGO Group produced?" I really wanted to voice my own things I feel they are currently lacking, but there was nowhere I could reply with that.
  10. I feel like most of the questions are a bit way too generalized and won't really help them that much in understanding what are our interests and why we care about LEGO. And given how diverse the LEGO community is, this whole poll is going to be a convoluted mass of answers that would seem quite inconsistent with one another, because there are so many LEGO sub-communities that enjoy in LEGO completely different ways from one another.
  11. This is the poster I commissioned for this project, hope you guys like it! Hopefully, this looks good enough to attract the attention of the folks working at TLG's Entertainment Team.
  12. I finally finished my project for LEGO World Builder, after working on it for over six months. If anyone in here is interested, I would highly encourage you to check my world out and perhaps support it with a like . https://worldbuilder.tongal.com/world/8ff100ad-3233-4c1d-ab0f-fd77224ee424
  13. Wow, that is so... strange. What is up with those weird weird minifigures with Homemaker heads? The Castle itself looks pretty cool though, this seems to be one of the few times we got a round-shaped Castle set in LEGO. Are there anymore prototypes of this kind out there? Perhaps more stuff that was revealed by Jamie Berard?
  14. Well yes, but you just listed earlier your reasons for why re-introducing the monorail would be impractical, like the complex rail molds and the electric componets that need a lot of testing. So I can easily see why your post came off as "monorails are too expensive to bring back". Also, I just want to add, that LEGO could very easily just re-use the Powered Up electric system from their recent City trains instead of trying to come up with an entirely new electric system, so the cost of creating a new set of monorails wouldn't be nearly as high. The only real new expensive parts they would have to introduce would be the new rail parts.
  15. And going back to one of the points in my original post, a lot of times when do they come up with new molds that could easily be used across multiple themes, they opt to just use them once and be done for. This is especially the case with the CMFs, which always introduce a tone of new molds that have the potential to be quite versatile, but most of the time they are only used once and never again. Sometimes, if we're very lucky, we might get some recolors of those molds from BAM, but that's about it.
  16. That is understandable, but most of the time when people want older sets again, they usually just want LEGO to explore the set's general concept/idea further rather than deliver a 1:1 re-release. In that case, nothing should really stop them from remaking the Cafe Corner in a way that is up the the standards of the current modulars. This still doesn't explain why we don't see new molds in most of the D2C sets, for example. Unless they are explicitly required by some licensed character, LEGO Ideas seems to shy away from introducing new molds most of the time, despite those sets always selling very well.
  17. Every time I see someone ask about LEGO re-releasing certain sets, the argument that the old molds have been destroyed is immediately brought up, and the re-release of that set instantly deemed impossible due to just one or a couple of pieces not being available anymore. But I really have to ask... are new molds really that expensive in 2021? Technology has progressed heavily in the field of 3D printing especially, allowing fans to create entire new LEGO-compatible pieces on their own for a very low cost (provided they own a 3D printer, which have gotten more and more accessible in recent years). And if a bunch of regular people can 3D print their own stuff, why can't a multi-billion dollar corporation do the same with their new molds? And even if let's say, they still use the traditional molding process because of quality concerns, that still doesn't explain how they seem to be so careless about which themes get new molds and which don't. They make like 10 new molds for a one-off theme like Trolls, only to get rid of them as soon as the sets retire. And even perfectly useable molds are still often gotten rid of very quickly, just because they fulfilled the original role they were made for, despite the potential to be re-purposed for other things (this often happens with the animal molds). And yet somehow, despite them being fine with making so many one-off molds, for one-off lines, they appear to have a problem with re-issuing older molds for potential set re-releases. I have to ask, why is this even the case? Technically speaking, shouldn't re-issuing older parts be even cheaper than creating a new mold? Since you already have the design of the old piece, you don't have to hire someone again to make a new design. I've always been baffled by the inconsistent way LEGO handles their new molds, and I am really curious to know what is their actual cost to produce in 2021.
  18. No, I mean Star Trek: Beyond. The latest Star Trek movie that apparently killed the franchise (I haven't seen it myself, that is just what I heard online).
  19. Well, an Indiana Jones return does actually need a lot of advertising and tie-in media (the new movie) in order to be successful. Its just that those wouldn't be done by LEGO, but by Disney or whoever is making the new move. I would also generally prefer getting playsets myself, but I don't think that is what most AFOLs would want. Most AFOLs would much rather have something detailed and compact they could comfortably put on display and never touch again. The Lord of the Rings sets, for example, were very criticized by fans for being just a bunch of walls thrown together as playsets, with very little display value (with a few notable exceptions, of course, such as the Tower of Orthanc or the Pirate Ship Ambush), and let's be real, the same argument applies to the original line of Indiana Jones as well. I don't particularly mind that myself if those playsets have nice functions or play features, but they are going to bother the people who just want to display their LEGO.
  20. Which retired molds are you exactly referring to? I can't recall any of the older modulars including any special molded elements that aren't still available today.
  21. This MOC is awesome! I love it so much when people do their own creations based on original LEGO themes, and this is no exception. This looks exactly like what I would imagine Ogel's base interior would look like!
  22. Am I the only one who has noticed that trying to search something here on Eurobricks (topics, specific posts, etc) is taking very long? Just by typing in the search bar a single word takes a very long time to respond, and typing in an entire phrase often results in a "504 Gateway Time-out" error. Can anyone explain why do we have this problem? And, is there any potential way it can be fixed?
  23. This upcoming LOTR is supposed to be based on the Silmarillion, a book containing all of Tolkien's personal writings that were published after he died. From what I heard, as part of the contract, Amazon is forced to keep its story strictly within the boundaries of the book canon. Translating a bunch of personal notes and writings that were never intended for publication into a GOT-style Fantasy show that is supposed to have a wide appeal will be quite a daunting task, and unless they get some very good writers to do the job, this show is not going to pan out. And given how apparently the writers of Star Trek: Beyond have been hired for the job, I wouldn't put my hopes very high.
  24. Unpopular opinion, but I would much rather have LEGO use their own creativity with Adventurers instead of being bound to a pre-existing franchise that was never intended to sell toys anyways. On top of that, unlike Star Wars or Harry Potter, Indiana Jones is rather small franchise, in which there are only a handful of scenes and vehicles they can portray in LEGO form, and after they made those few scenes, there is nothing else to be done except cancel the theme and wait until the next movie or TV Show comes out. With a original theme like Adventurers, they can cover whatever subjects they want, and could hold the line on shelves for an entire decade if they so desire. Honestly, I don't even know what a licensed Indiana Jones line of sets can offer me that Adventurers wouldn't. Maybe some semi-realistic WWII solider minifigures? Other than that, there wouldn't be much value to me personally at bringing back Indy at the expense of Adventurers.
  25. One of the biggest problems with this show from what I can see is not really understanding who their audience is. In the 30 minutes before the show, there was this guy who was acting like the audience were young children, with a childish "Dora the Explorer" style of addressing to the audience. But in between that, there were some MOC showcases and interviews which were pretty helpful and informative, but the mix of those two felt really off putting. If they want people to be interested in this show, they might as well try to gain a better understanding of who their core audience is, instead of trying to appeal to everyone. A guy on YouTube did a full review and analysis, so if you want a more in depth TLDR of what happened, I would recommend watching this video:
