  1. When I heard the news about the news of a Viking ship I was super hyped, but after hearing it is Creator 3 in 1, I kind of lost hope in it. I am willing to bet the figures are going to be super simplistic and at least one of them will probably be the same pirate guy from the 3 in 1 Castle set. Best case scenario, they re-use the torso print from the CMF viking, but there is no way they are going to include the specialized helmet mold.
  2. Thanks a lot, I really appreciate your feedback!
  3. I would highly recommend watching Duck Bricks. He is a relatively newer YouTuber, having started his channel only last year, but his content has been, in my opinion, the best I have ever seen in the LEGO community. I'll be honest, I have never particularly enjoyed most of the LEGO channels, because to me, they all seem to more or less do the exact same thing. Duck Bricks, on the other hand, has very unique content that no other major LEGO channels have. Unlike most other channels which are centered around specific LEGO themes, DuckBricks is a "everything LEGO" channel, where any LEGO fan, regardless of theme preferences, will find something to enjoy. He is also the owner of one of the largest LEGO collections in the entire world, as evidenced by his many collection tour videos that he makes:
  4. No, it didn't, I just used the yellow chest piece for the MOC, and replaced the Monkie Kid one with a gold one.
  5. So, after reading Mr.Monopoly's review of Uplink and Sentry, I realized how much LEGO’s set design style has changed over the years. I thought to myself, if those two sets were released today, they would without a doubt be designed in the same style as the current Marvel mechs. While not a particularly big fan of this style myself, I still tried out remaking the Assault Tiger in this style, just to see what it would look like. Here is a comparison between it and the Monkie Kid mini mech that came as a side build in the Bone Demon set (I used this as a template for my MOC): Hope you all like it! Any sort of comments or feedback are highly appreciated.
  6. That is really cool, I like the design with the bigger wheels in the front and the smaller ones in the back. Looks very unique!
  7. I love the use of the Kanohi Hau Nuva mask on top of the head!
  8. So, that means China only will still be getting an additional final wave next year, or the current wave is the last the theme will ever get?
  9. Excellent blend of System and Bionicle pieces!
  10. That is very cool, nice MOC! I'd say it fists perfectly with the aesthetic of the Bone Demon!
  11. I am not saying we shouldn't attempt any Classic Space projects at all, but I wouldn't be putting my hopes up for them being approved, because as far as I can see, LEGO Ideas is interested in other things. But the more of those projects we get, the more LEGO realizes the demand there is for more Classic Space, so there is that.
  12. The title says it all, I am very curious, is there any way to know how many copies of each individual set are produced in total on average? Is it a few tens of thousand copies for each set? Or perhaps hundreds of thousands? I guess it every much depends on the sets in question, but if there are any experts in here that happen to know a thing or two about this subject, feel free to share it with us.
  13. Very cool project, I supported it right away. Too bad it will never get approved, though... Best case scenario, we might only get it as a Bricklink Design program set.
  14. Another of the Green Lantern comics features a straight-up cameo of the Toa Mata: There also other sorts of weird cameos you can find in all sorts of things:
  15. Yeah, most people who come to talk about LEGO on Eurobricks usually only talk about current set releases, and since there are no current Constraction sets, people don't have much to talk about in this section. Other Bionicle-dedicated sites are still very active though.
  16. Very well built, and quite accurate to the source material, too! I particularly like how you made those controller hands, those buttons on them look surprisingly realistic!
  17. Sorry, my mistake. I edited my original post.
  18. Honestly, I already knew this line wasn't gonna last more than three years right from the moment it was announced. I think it's failure can be attributed to 4 main factors: 1. Inaccessibility I get that originally it wasn't even supposed to release in the West at all, but still, limiting it to LEGO.com and LEGO Stores only was a horrible choice. At the very least, they could have also made it available at a select number of retailers like Amazon, so that it is more accessible to casual LEGO buyers. I can understand not selling the larger sets in normal retail stores due to shelf space, but at the very least, couldn't they at least have made some of the smaller sets available in regular stores? 2. Prices This one has been the most complained about, and honestly, not without good reason. The theme lacking any cheaper entry-level sets was a big issue, as the smaller sets were easily the most overpriced and uninteresting of the line. The greatest sets were always the largest ones, which, as you may guess, not everyone can afford. The fact that there were little to no discounts from those big prices didn't help, either. In my humble opinion, the 100$ price range should be reserved only for the biggest sets in any LEGO theme, but for some reason, they decided to make that price range be the middle one instead of the largest one. 3. Marketing In general, I can say that LEGO has done a pretty horrible job when it comes to the marketing of their recent original themes (Hidden Side included too). Monkie Kid was not even featured in any of the regular LEGO retail catalogs at all, and even the Shop at Home catalog only included like one of the sets. On top of that, the way the TV Series has been distributed has been highly questionable (this also applies to some of the recent Ninjago seasons too). The episodes would only air on obscure channels in Asian countries, and I bet most people who watched them probably did so only on YouTube. Come on, would it really have been so complicated to just simply put them on Netflix, where most people watch their TV Shows those days anyways? 4. Story Yet again, we come at the same mistake LEGO has constantly repeated and not learned from over the past decade. The Monkie Kid TV Series had a tone of potential with it's unique artstyle, but man, everything else felt so hollow and empty. Basically all that happens in the show is just a series of random, loosely connected adventures where Monkie Kid just runs around being stupid, with no real character for neither him nor the rest of the cast. Supposedly, they hired a professional Hollywood writer to do the job, but man, it doesn't show at all. I get a strong feeling the guy just wanted to make a quick buck, and had no real investment in the series he was writing. Don't get me wrong, if you have enjoyed the series as it is, I don't balme you, because admittedly, the animation is very energetic and unqiue, coming from the same team that did the Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles animation. But, the story and characters just weren't strong enough to get enough people invested in the series. As it stands, we should at least be grateful that we got those amazing sets released in the West at all, given how originally they were supposed to be exclusive to China (we can thank the Chinese New Year sets for that). But it should come as no surprise that this line performed so poorly given all those factors. I predicted this right from when the line was announced, and I was right. I have no idea whether those sets have been successful in China though, I guess only time will tell. Surely they sold marginally better there due to increased availability and more marketing in that area, but even with that, I highly doubt it was the smash success in the vein of Ninajgo that LEGO wanted. But again, I guess only time will tell.
  19. What exact modifications did you make, if I may ask? Maybe I could try applying those modifications to mine as well.
  20. I just returned from the LEGO Store, and I ended up purchasing The Bone Demon. They still had a couple of the wave 1 and wave 2 sets, but they were few and far between. They were indeed put on a 30% off discount, but it is interesting to note that this discount was only temporary until August 30th. But yeah, whatever that store had was just leftovers, and it wouldn't surprise me if after the current stock sells out, they wouldn't be receiving anymore new copies. So if anyone else has missed out on any if the wave 1 stuff, and your local LEGO Store still has any left, now is probably the time to get what you can.
  21. I have been hesitant to rush and buy any of the Monkie Kid sets at their full price, but given the fact that they are now finally getting a discount and may be soon pulled from shelves, I figure the time has finally come for me to act. I'm gonna visit my Local LEGO Store later today, and I'll check to see what they've still got available and for how much.
  22. I feel like a topic like this would raise a lot more interest and discussions on other more Bionicle-dedicated forums, such as the TTV Message Boards. The LEGO Action Figures section here on Eurobricks is pretty much dead, outside of the occasional MOCs that are posted, but even those don't generate much interest. If you want to discuss this in a place where people will actually reply to you and respond to your topic question, I would highly recommend posting this thread to that site, because sadly, there aren't a whole lot of active people left on this site that would engage in a Bionicle lore discussion like the one you are proposing.
  23. Haha, this is so hilarious! You have such a brilliant use of that Elephant head piece from the LEGO Basic line, great work!
  24. Amazing MOC! I love the design of the clothing in particular!
