Marvel Superheroes 2024 - Rumors & Discussion
Gorilla94 replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
From my experience cinema is pretty irrelevant to the young people in my place. They stream and the older popular Marvel movies are allways recommended on Disney+. Also in every youtube recommendation video, which some consume to find stuff to watch, nobody mentions anything past Endgame (except maybe Guardians 3). It is definitely a, if not the reason. Another one is that parents decide what they buy in the end. If dad stands there with a nostalgic smile in front of the set remembering how it was to see the Avengers assemble in cinema with his friends over a decade ago, it is much more likely he will buy that set than (yeah it is an extreme example but showes everything wrong with Marvel at this point) a She-Hulk set of the "I suffer infinite times more than you, Bruce!"- or Twerking-scene. The only marvel product I liked since Endgame was Guardians 3, but I don´t see anything I want as a playset from that movie. -

I wonder: Is Hagrids hut part of the new hogwarts system, too? I love that Lego did not use a single sticker in the boat house and owlery sets, but made all detailes brickbuild. I just wish they closed up the owlery, too. Hagrids hut on the other hand is closed up, but uses stickers... ^^´ So the pessimist in me is expecting the Great hall to be open and full of stickers.... I am glad I bricklinked the best version of each character until now. I don´t understand how Lego can seriously (re)release figures without leg printing (Sirius, Student uniforms, Filch...), if they are wearing a robe or coat, that clearly goes down to the feet. Do you expect the robes to change? That detail bothers me with the figures we got to this point: Gryffindor allway uses the shield symbol divided into 4 parts. Hufflepuff, too. Ravenclaw always has the little raven symbol except for the cheap looking torso with a scarf from the Magical Trunk- Set... Slytherin changed at some point from the shield to a snake symbol. I really wish Lego goes back to the shield symbol. The student robe prints are clearly from the first cmf and Percy from the book. It would be a shame to have uniforms that don´t match in the end... -

Marvel Superheroes 2024 - Rumors & Discussion

Female figures have eyelashes and lipstick. If you want a solid pearl silver silver surfer, you can get the new silver armoured torso from the space cmf and a head of Zane (?) from Ninjago. If you are open to it, you can take any Zane head and remove some robot printing by polishing it. -
Lego allways keeps something back for potential future waves (Like a whole cmf wave of Simpsons characters or Faramir, Eowyn and Witchking in the last Lotr wave) or just cherrypicks in a stupid way, that makes it impossible to get everything important in the end (like the Disney Serieses, where they could have put the 4 most relevant characters of a movie in one series or main protagonist and villain with an important support character in each series, but they choose to put just the main Hero and Villain into one series ...or just one of them alone in some cases. Stitch without Lilo... Hercules and Hades without Megara and Phil... Mulan alone...). I think we should be gratefull for anything we get/have. It is pretty much unpredictable with Lego, if they continue something in my honest opinion.

The new dagger in the dnd cmf reminds me of Drax. We are supposed to get a new Milano, aren't we? -
I´d like to see little playsets with mini-/bigfigures. For example Donkey Kong´s hut with Diddy and some others. Characters with less iconic material for builds could get a racing cart.

Wizarding World 2024 - Rumors & Discussion

Thank you! I already hoped for an Extension of Hagrid's hut^^' Do we know, if the new Snow white dwarfs hat is compatible with Flittwick's/Dwalin's beard? I don't like bald minifigures with a Stud. Flittwick wore a similar hat in some Images, so I am thinking about updating him. -

Does anyone know, if the buckbeak set is a buildable figure? It says it comes with some terrain, so I am not sure. What do you guys think? Any chanches we will see more printed medium legs? We got several medium legs for gryffendor robes but nothing for the other houses... or at least some torso prints with open robes instead of the allwayys closed ones? -
What a shame :( thanks for the clarification!

Can someone please tell me, if the newer crocodile upper jaw piece is compatible with the old body? I'd live to upgrade my 2017 tlbm Killer Croc figure :)
-
Ok, I don't need to say which animal rocks most and that I'll get a bunch of them... soon you can call me 94Gorillas 🤣 The crocodile seems to be a recolour, doesn't it? May I ask if the new Upper Jaw piece is compatible with crocodile bodies? If so I will use the new upper jaw piece for the 2017 TLBM Killer Croc

I have to say I am very dissapointed... the druid and witch are gorgeous. Some printed bodies look usefull and I like the fact there is a new axe (while not being very impressed by the design. Saw too many better custom pieces) . The rest ... meh.... I can't get over the fact we don't get any new beard. 2 dwarfs and I can't tell which is worse... At least they could have done a recolour of an existing beard piece like the hair-beard-combo from Dreamz... and now I see the cmf dwarf doesn't even have leg printing.- 686 replies

Does sharpie work? Would you mind telling me which brand you use? :) My experience with sharpies were a nightmare. I allways use Revell emaile colours (for black, brown, tan, light and dark grey) or games workshop ones (for metal). Looks like original.- 686 replies

Am the only guy here with limited fictional media taste?
Gorilla94 replied to StudWorks's topic in Culture & Multimedia
To be honest I just love the heroes journey and good writing. I am no fan of fantasy, western, sci-fi, super heroes or any other theme/genre. What I love is spread across them all and so is the selection of minifigures and Mocs in my collection. I also would not call being a Star Wars fan specific. The clone Wars series, the republic Commando book series, the Star wars kotor-Video games... those are so different from each other that the fact all of them include blasters and lightsabers is pretty much irrelevant. It should not be difficult to be yourself and find people you can relate to, if you are open to them. Most of my friends have different interests, but we share some and can focus on those. I also enjoy their passion for stuff and vice versa even if it is not each others cup of tea. For example I dislike most about the Warhammer 40k Lore and designs, but I can still appreciate the love and craftsmanship that many people put into their models and talk about their painting techniques even if i dislike the model.- 5 replies

Your only problem will be the female with elven ears. That hairpiece does not exist with yellow ears. The halfling uses the cmf elv hairpiece also in blond. The torso prints are all without flesh showing. The faces can be easily switched.- 686 replies

To be honest I am pretty dissapointed. The new door element is cool. The barbarian CMF sword is still sweet. The beholder is very well executed. The rest is of no interest to me. Especially the dwarf looks like a below average kitbash not a special figure with it´s own prints. I can´t see any possible justification for the price.- 686 replies

To be honest it depends on the theme. If you have something like LOTR, there is too much brown, black, grey and so on, so yellow faces as the only colourfull elements just do not fit in there in my opinion. If it is a cool city with all sorts of colours or a cartoonish Castle with lots of bright colours yellow is awesome and fleshies look like they don't fit in there.

Unless you start mocing it by yourself after being frustrated for a couple of years... ;) To be honest I can't see the problem. We got a killing joke Joker. Lego could easily ignore the scary mutants as well as Victor and the lunatics in force vests, so it will be just another Arkham Asylum play set but with fancier minifigs. A cool batmobile (maybe the Arkham knight one), a few cell blocks, a botanical Garden (we have perfect transparent pieces now) with the plants growing out of it... some of the middle trophies Hidden here and there and other little easter-eggs... make it 400€, put mad hatter, black mask, Azrael and the Arkham knight into it and it will sell like siced bread just as Rivendell.

@Lordhelmet I would not loose hope on a Lotr cmf. DnD has 50th birthday now and Baldurs Gate 3 was a phaenomenon for lots of people in the gaming-community that didn't play pen and paper before. I understand that Lego wants to make a dime from having some of its right now very hyped designs. The idea of getting people to use Lego as miniatures is also a big point. Lotr on the other hand isn't "hyped" at all and Lego doesn't miss out on anything if the cmf comes next year or the year after that.

Meh... I really hoped to get a dwarf with a new beard, an octagonal shield and a cool new armour in a random cmf... and now this. Even with a switchable face a dwarf without moulded beard is just dissapointing. And how can a barbarian have a neutral torso? I could not care less for a new axe mould. the existing one is pretty much the best looking lego weapon in my opinion... The rest ... well... I hope there are at least some usefull parts for more down to earth lotr-like fantasy.- 686 replies

What do you think? Can we expect kotor-Sets, when the Remake releases? I can't imagine Lego did a special Mould for Malak just as a bonus anniversary figure

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
Gorilla94 replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
@JohnTPT17 "The Simpsons" is the longest running comedy show of all time and a cultural phenomenon you can´t compare many things to. The simple fact it still is not canceled after all those disgustingly bad new seasons is proof of the insane relevance it once had, when Lego made sets for them. Besides that, yes, I also think those IPs are in fact large enough to squeeze a dime out of them with a cmf as long as the hype is still there. I hope we will get this cool viking from Fortnite. -
My advice would be to become really, really picky. As picky as you can get. I want a perfect version of what I love. So I just buy just perfect models without stickers or with a 3rd Party custom printed parts pack available. That's why I do not own any HP-Sets except for the small one with Aragog (my Lotr Kankra) but have every teacher, student, and staff member as well as every creature in the prettiest version possible in a small display case. Next wave I'll get Norbert, Fang and the little grey owl of Ron seperatrly. They might be expensive but still much cheaper than buying huge sets. My two face from Batman is for example combination of 3 different figures... head and hair from one, printed coin from another, Torso and Legs from TLBM... ) I still spend a lot of money on Lego, but the space my displays (one for each theme) take is manageable and dust protected, while it has all the gorgeous and cute little details that would otherwise be located all over the place in a huge landscape of "decent" sets. I did not get Rivendell, because i am not too much into elves. If they give us Erebor or Moria in that quality I'll get it. Otherwise I am just glad I got a better shield and sword for Boromir.
