LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
Gorilla94 replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Not sure about that. Looney toons really needs a small Tweety accessory. As a regular figur he looks stupid. Couleur come with Granny. The Texan and the Hunter would be nice addition. Besides that I have no idea what could be included, The skunk and cat will never be made because political correctness. speedy as micro scale would be cool, to, but I cańt see a figure he could come with. Sesame Street would be awesome. I need the Count. Muppets… not sure, how to full a whole series. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours

Ok, that is true. of course. i should have said, that the rumor of getting one was an interpretation error. At the moment we just don´t have any information about a Simpsons cmf happening. Personally I doubt it. I mean, they will probably do a Krusty burger set, which will stay a lot behind their expectations in terms of sales (the house was very special: one of the first adult oriented sets, appeared closely to the Simpsons movie and everything... now we had terrible series after terrible series - some eposodes in fact without a single setup-punchline-joke - and the market is flooded with sets for adults) and then end the IP again. Maybe we will get the Comic Book store, too, if they plan 2 Years in advance. Can´t see the IP carry a CMF at that point. -

If they did the Simpsons again, they need the iconic standard outfits for new customers. Íd give Homer a new headmould dreaming away for food. Donuts as an accessoiry. Marge needs printed or new moulded legs to have shoes and a larger head with longer hair would be fittng. Lisa gets a skirt piece out of plastic, Bart some cool accessory… mayen short movable legs? that way the repeated family would really rock . but I mean, it was already said, there wońt be a cmf but a d2c -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
Gorilla94 replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
He should be quite easy to make yourself. Some cheap generic parts, that resemble one of his outfits and Shaggy´s Hair from the Scooby Doo line. I´d just like to see more characters from Ducksburg. Beagle Boys, Gyro Gearloose, Launchpad McQuack, Magica de Spell... At best the Ducks rebootet with medium legs. The best Set Lego could do would be a money bin to me. -
Marvel Superheroes 2024 - Rumors & Discussion

The thing that bothers me is that you can count the special moulds for old lines like lotr/hobbit and compare it to new stuff that comes together with a cmf. If you do not count special pieces like the firefighters helmet or Gryffindors sword introduced by a CMF (which has it´s own budget), the pricing of many new sets/waves seems to me too high/the effort too low. -

I´d say the series whole point is getting Lego money. Lego put much more moulding budget into the line over the years. Because of that they raised the price by far more than (often not even included) licence costs, inflation and increased moulding/printing costs justify. I mean we are talking about 100% price increase since they were 2€. Then they started to (ab)use that buget to make more and more standard moulds like a new firefighter helmet or bicycle helmet with female hair - a standard piece that would normally be a random new city part with it´s own budget. Putting them in boxes (using greenwashing arguments) so people need to buy more instead of feeling for them failed. I have still tons of Marvel figures resting on shelves on every store in my city as well as the other serieses, if there is one of the small not readable qr codes on them (or it is one of the really unpopular figures). The next logical step was reusing even prints to maximise profit. As long as there are still some figures that stay exclusive and the best version of that character, people will still be buying the cmfs, even If lego reuses lots of those moulds and prints later. I´d say the next step will be raising prices again. -
The poorly designed and terribly overpriced remote Batmobile had Arkham Knight Batman as a minifig. https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?S=76112-1&name=App-Controlled Batmobile&category=[Super Heroes][Batman II]#T=S&O={"iconly":0} I don´t get why Lego doesn´t make a modular series about an akham games styled gotham. Watchtower, police station, Wayne Tower, Bank.... each with a new villain we didn´t have until now and there we go: City builders would buy them, Superhero-Fans would buy them... With enough dark bluish grey there could even be castle fans buying them selling the figures.

Well... Learning how to draw stuff like this with gimp takes an hour with youtube tutorials at best, actually drawing them a day. The program is free and the skill very usefull in general. It's just the question, if it is worth the effort to you. If you want it with less effort you can look for the dimensions story pack from TLBM.

Most copy shops can print your graphics on stickers. No big deal. I detest stickers. In fact my collection is 100% free from them. I draw what I like in gimp (pixel data works for flat surfaces) or inkscape (for example minifigure heads require vector graphics). Then I use a local company in Germany that specialised on pad printing lego parts. But you can tell it isn´t original. The printing quality is too high. Yellow on black bricks for example is in fact yellow and not this ugly yellowish grey Lego has, because they now only use one layer of colour instead of multibles like 20 years ago. If you do not want to draw, it becomes complicated. There are many customizers selling custom printed stuff, but you´ll have to be lucky to get, what you want. I know one that has tons of city stuff and Harry Potter, one that has a focus on Super hero minifigures and Star Wars stuff... But I never saw one making stuff for a Batcave. It is also quite expenive.

Could Simpsons line of Minifigure series or Sets return?
Gorilla94 replied to Vitruvius's topic in LEGO Licensed
I would pretty likely, but I am a hardcore fan, of course. I think with how the first set aged (unlike the brilliant Kwik-E-Mart, whose single flaw are crumbling stickers) there is room for an update - two rows of walls so the inside has the correct colour for example... But with such stuff breaking the price we already know by far, it can be said it won´t be the house. Maybe we´ll get one later. Another factor is that, yes, the house was a huge success and made many people, who had nothing to do with the hobby, go get it because of the licence, but there was also a huge part of AFOLs, who had no interest in the show at all and just wanted a complete house. Now we have lots of closed up houses and if Lego made it more accurate like they need to make me as a fan buy another one, they will loose on those AFOLs that are not interested in a house with a bright pink inside. Made lots of custom grafics lately for my Android´s Dungeon MOC. My Moe´s Tavern is already done. The Kwik-E-Mart is perfect as it is with custom printing. While I think the Krusty Burger isn´t the best building to choose from an economic perspective, I´d really like them to do the building that is still missing on my shelf xD -

I had that idea, too, but decided to not post it publicly, where someone from Lego could read and probably like it... Are we Sure, that it is the Simpsons? I mean, the cloud sky could be for example Toy story, too. I assume, it will be Krusty Burger. If it has something to do with a Clown, it fits. Kwik-E-Mart and House were 200€ each. With Inflation and Lego's growing hybris in pricing, it sounds realistic to me. New mould for Söiderpig and sqeaky voice teen and it will sell well enough. I think it would be Ednas Classroom, a small hallway, and the cafeteria as well as something in the small room on the first floor with Willies Tractor in the Front... What makes me akeptical about school and Krusty Burger is the amount of possible funny little references. The Andoids dungeonwould habe offered more in that regard. Likely.... They even wrote in the description text of the Barracuda bay about the pirates drinking rum, but i still can't see them making a bar. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours

I doubt Simpsons 3... the second one sold so poorly they gave them away as additional extras with every purchases at my local Lego store just to get rid of them. I also can't really imagine how it would look like. They need the core family available in their iconic standard outfits or it won't appeal to new customers. Making them interesting enough for old collectors at the same time will be a challenge. Maybe new legs with dual moulded shoes? That is pretty much the only possible upgrade I could come up with on the existing figures. Would be enough for me to buy them, but I am a perfectionist and the Simpsons my favourite IP. There are not many possible cool special (and kid friendly) accessorys. -

And maybe a new book or magazine? A new large castle expansion and some smaller rooms is in my opinion just the right amount, so I am glad there won't be that much more this year xD I think the old big troll club will dissapear from Bricklink in a short period of time after the Great halls release. The troll really needs it. I just ordered mine :) -

Krustyland indeed sounds like a good idea... Lego made a lot of Disney Land sets and there are rumours of Disney taking the IP from Universal Studios to their own theme park. If it gives us more sets it would lessen the pain of loosing one of my favourite IPs in my favourite park :( It would be a way to include popular Charakters like Lenny and Carl without making a Power plant or Moes Tavern. -

Interesting... Is he a trustworthy source? To me this seems a bit strange - especially a Krusty Burger, which has much less potential for easter eggs than for example the Comic book store. They could have easily made more buildings in 2016, but now they would need to reboot the whole theme for people who don't have the characters in their classic outfits. And for those, who do have the old stuff there is little new, if they do not introduce a new type of Dual moulded legs where just the shoes have another colour or movable short legs.... The fact that the show's polpularity suffered thanks to the decline in quality should not help very much either ^^' -
I think one of the orcs is the orc leader against Minas Tirith... Is that a hint we won´t be getting it or that Lego would just reuse him or is lego keeping him exclusive in Barad Dur? What do you think?

Wizarding World 2024 - Rumors & Discussion
Gorilla94 replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
They used those legs in some HP sets before. I think the main question is how often it will be used in a set and in general. Lego wants to have as few different parts as possible to reduce logistics. If every female student from year 1 and 2 uses those legs and the skirt piece no matter which torso they use it is quite cost efficient. Personally i hate the combination of a torso showing an opened Robe and a short skirt. It looks to me as if the robe was cut off. I'd really prefer printed short legs for male and female students, but I guess this is personal taste. We'll see about the wands. I would also be interested, if we'll see the wands with an open stud for spell effects from battle of hogwarts return. -

I think the most interesting piece of new Information is the Hidden door in the rockwork. I think this confirms a Chamber of Secrets expansion. I have to say the hat of Professor Vector is terrible :( That hair-hat Combo works perfectly for a wacky Halloween witch. not for her... I'll try to paint either the fairytale princess come hat or the new cmf witch hairpiece... litterally every other Wizard hat looks better for her... -
Depends on the type of army for me. I get to some degree why people want a lot of Clone Troopers. If you have an ATTE, a Gunship and a few more vehicles you could really use 10 clones per model just to display the vehicles nicely on your shelves with a whole crew and some infantry next to the walker... So yes, I get that. What I never understood was the tolerance of taking either Star Wars clones from different waves, so they do not look identicalin their uniform designs, or several copies of the same Rohan soldier, so they look like clones, which you certainly do not want them to look like. For me it is allways quality over quantity. I prefer for example to have a group of 15 perfect 501. Soldiers (Rex, 10 Troopers, 2 Heavy Troopers, 2 Snipers) with custom guns, custom printed arms and everything than to have 100 standard figures without arm or in many cases even leg printing using the standard Lego weapons. I have in fact a quite large dwarven army, which is a mix of pretty much everything lego offered me, some of my own customs (painted beard pieces in different colours for example) and 3rd. party products (I just adore the boar mount and dwarf armors they put out a while ago). They should be around 100, are all completely unique except for some faces, where I wanted twins, and all cmf-quality.

Does the Troll big fig even fit inside the bathroom? They could combine the bathrooms from ps, cos and gof in one pretty moduleof do you want 3 Bathrooms? Well... because lots of people will buy another (better) common room. I wasn't aware the house ghost must appear in common room sets. They have 3 very special figures- Troll, vector, friar -in the Great hall. That will sell the set even with all its flaws. Buthaving just 3 big holes below the Hall would probably been too lazy for too many customers. Than people will buy expensions. -

It is the most detailed just look at Hagrid's hut, the potion class and boat house and compare it to the last waves where big parts of wall structure were panels with a sticker at best. The most complete will probably allways stay the micro scale one. I am pretty sure the Toilet, hallway and common roomare place holders. They are too bad compared to everything else. -

I think the bis question is, if this unrecognisable common room is a loss. I'd say they put the empty corridor and the common room in the great hall, so there isn't just a hole. -

@XenophiliusWell, getting an obscure random side character would be enough for most Star Wars fans to buy sets. I think the Torso Sprints are neat and lots of the stuff can e used to fix this empty great hall. -

I was talking about the common room we can see. The common rooms were always quite bad. I do not expect this to change.
