To be honest I think it is designed so poorly on purpose because of that... I´ll make the common rooms by mocing the 3D partially covered backgrounds from the banners into the castle. Maybe I can reuse some of the parts from the great hall set. Is the Dumbledore from the great hall the same outfit as the cmf just with a less elaborate hat? Then it would be perfect to upgrade the cmf Dumbledore with printed arms :)

@accio_lego Thanks for the info :) I did not read the books since I was a kid... time to pull zhem out again sometime ^^' I am thinking about getting a hogwarts express. What would you guys recommend? From videos and pictures i think the one retirering does not look as good as the one we had before because of the moving bar a, black roof, printeddishplate in the front and size of the train in general... which one do you prefer? Should I wait for the next one, modify the one currently on shelves or get the older one?

I allways doubted we would get the BLOODY baron in a christmas product. I think the best case would be anyways to have the caroler here and the BB later. On the other hand... in Germany there is a saying that translates somewhat like "I prefer to have a sparrow bird in my hand than a pigeon on the roof"... I wish I had the BB guaranteed with lego so often not releasing even essential characters and then ending the theme... a satisfying kitbash bill be impossible with the needed light bluish grey outfit. Why? The statues look pretty stupid except for the raven but the banner tiles are pretty neat in my opinion. I wonder the same... love that they use the shield splitted in 4 parts for each house. cho has the right skin colour, the ghost is very neat... on the other hand they used the stupid santa beard for Flittwick to save a few cents, which will make none of the long time collectors angry, because we already have the superior version. Those huge wrapped candy pieces give me nostalgia about the old harry potter video games, there you had to fight Draco at some point throwing such exploding wrapped candy at each other.

I think it is this kind of "go hard or go home" sets... It is a good basis for a Moc that will be ridiculously expensive to do... but also rock. I would not buy it to put it on my shelf like this. Oh, boy... Aragog is scary. I prefer the last version, which had still a certain cuteness xD But he is well done for sure.

I assume lots of pieces go to the rockwork. There is a reason Lego once used 3D baseplatetes and those big ugly rock pieces. The main Problem in my opinion is that the great hall dies not benefit from its size. It doesn't have more details. In fact it has much less with the tower from the 2018 one missing. And of course the pull out rooms are just pathetic.

Gives me hope this will apply on the minifigures, too, with a new ghost... in the other Hand it makes me angry to get Dumbledores speaker desk or similar sold seperately from the 200€ set

Another option would be bricklink... I bought 20 medium legs and 10 standard legs with robe printing 1€ each. Hufflepuff robes were 1,50€ each. Slytherin were a bit more expensive, but I wanted pretty ones with open robes to match the legs perfectly. Ok, they still need heads, hair and wands, but it isn't too bad in my opinion. The only thing missing are some Ravenclaw robes and i am fine with my students. It would be cool to get those special student robes like Percy has for the other houses, too. Another idea for a cmf: a frog choir member with a new big fat frog mould... In the best scenario a Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff with a more elaborate robe.

To be honest I never understood that. I was very happy to get Ki Adi Mundi in a cheap little set as an adult. The bounty hunter Battlepack with 4 unique characters was awesome, too. As a kid I didn't have the money to army build and was just glad to get one droid transporter and one clone Battlepack...

I hope we get a real Fluffy remake the same quality as the Troll and basilisk.

The inverted ones. Yes, they should definitely have used those and printed them with golden stars...

I think the formula for a good set is "size : (play value + detail)"... the 2018 great hall did a great job with it's a cute but recognisable shape, that captured the licences vibe. The new one does not benefit from havin a row of 1x2x2 Window frames more per window and so on... it just feels empty and soulless :/ that the sky looks terrible doesnt help either.

Wow... that troll is one of the best Big figs ever made. Not too impressed with the rest... Yeah, it is big. But the visible sky being 2 cheap cloudshaped Tiles on the Underside of dark blue Plates is more than dissapointing. I don't recognise the Hufflepuff common room. Is it Vector? The hat is nougat, not brown. But I am pretty sure it isn't sprout

Barad Dur, Captain Rex Micro Fighter, the new Hogwarts system… I have to admit I am pretty excited for the set reveals. This could be a very strong year.

I doubt diorama sets for Harry Potter. A good playset with another hogwarts room is pretty much that size already and works exactly like those dioamas, while still being interesting for kids. They just need to make cute small sets like the one with cat Hermoine and the bathroom or the new Hagrids hut and boat house... until we get the whole Castle :D

@krimimimi What I could see (and hope for) is a recolour of the fat cat from friends in orange with normal eyes as Hermioine's cat.

What do you guys think people would be willing to pay for legolike custom resin printed heads of Moe, Lenny, Carl and Quimbi? Made my stl Files as a hobby project for some years. I found the perfect printing service mixing special plastic in yellow and reddish brown. It would cost about twice as much to get 50 sets of heads instead of 1, so I am thinking about selling the other 49...

To be honest I just care about Hogwarts and the Hogwarts Express. And within this limited part of the wizarding world my focus of interest is on the first two books/movies. Those were the big thing, when I was a kid. Went to the cinema with a Wizard hat and everything, got yellow faced Potter Sets for Christmas... So I am 100% hyped for the great hall with the Troll and Potion clasroom. Gives me a huge nostalgic feeling.

Do we know if it will be playscale? :)

@BrickBob Studpants yeah, that's a point ^^' I guess Lego needs to put those improve versions like McGonagall into sets, too, if they want to sell the third Castle reboot^^' Yes, I think the most necessary would be lotr, but I doubt we will get one xD What confused me is, that we did not see any leaks by now... wasn't the new great Hall supposed to release in 1 1/2 months?

The 5 cmf-Gryffindor variants are by far the best uniforms we got. I´d like to get at least one closed robe version of that quality for the other houses. That would be at least 3 very popular figures. I wouldn´t see a problem to have 3 Slytherins alone with Draco, Crabbe and Goyle. Flittwick from the first two movies but with a new beard and his hat would be cool. I don´t like the visible stud on the head. Quiddich Robes with leg Printing would be nice. It looks stupid to see the torsos with robe printing and plain white legs. That would be another 4 right there. I´d also like to see the other house ghosts. The first nick with the an added shakespeare neck-piece is perfect. It annoys me Myrtle in light grey has no printed legs... If you´d like to get something obscure, too, there would be Professor Vector. I´d like to get more teachers in general... Madame Hooch would benefit from a remake, too. Take the Hidden side Hair with glasses but in fitting colours and she will look so much better.

To be honest I am perfectly fine with having to collect pieces together for a characters in my opinion perfect representation. My problem lies with stickers (custom printing is expensive and work...) and even worse: stuff I can't do/get (Like silver printing on the Mirror from the first great hall). What really annoys me is the fact Gryffindor and Hufflepuff have just a little shield on their robes, Ravenclaw only a raven symbol.... Slytherin is available with Snake or shield, but the later only with an open robe... I hope we will get Ravenclaw and Slytherin Robes with the simpler shield design... it would be a shame, if the most elaborate uniforms (Gryffindor from the first 2 Cmfs) and Percy from the book would be incompatible in the end or worse Lego fails to give us matching uniforms at all... Do you think we will get a 3rd cmf? Maybe with printed medium leg versions of other houses?

Seriously? Oh, boy... I'll wait for a 50% discount... then it will compensate the required custom prints.
