Any news for the known problem with servo motors that keep moving without any input when connected with BuWizz please ? I have 6 BuWizz's and all of them have this problem :( Still waiting for a (supposedly) updated firmware that will address/fix the problem

Just finished the build. Incredible overall and very rewarding. I opted for non-Lego tires for this and got a set of rock crushers by RC4WD. Very good and unbelievably sticky. Two questions to anyone that might be able to answer. I haven’t been able to turn on the lights and I’m not sure what’s the polarity switch use. Anyone can shed some light please ?

Just received the Rock Crusher II tires made by RC4WD. I installed them on the rims and first impressions are good, they are extremely sticky, no comparison with the Lego counterparts. Now I need to start building my Tatra and will post how they do on it.

Thanks for your input, after reading the whole thread twice and searching online everywhere I finally ordered a set from a UK based shop for Rock Crusher II X/T 1.9”. I’ll post any feedback as soon as I install them and test.

Resurrecting again this thread. I’m in the process of building Madoca’s Tatra 813, and I’d like to put on some aftermarket wheels on it. I understand @Blakbird has used some RC4WD ussr military tires on it with success (couldn’t find pics or info on this though) but these are out of production now. Anyone can suggest some tires that would work for this ? Rims are 42775. As for @rm8‘s specially built for Lego tires, they are excellent but only come on 1.55” Thanks in advance! Please excuse me for resurrecting this thread but I’m about to start building this excellent MOC and I’d like some help if anyone can help me out. I’d like to use some more off road oriented tires and indeed the offerings from Lego don’t seem to do justice to this one, so any advice on any good aftermarket tires that I could use ? (The USSR Military tires that Blackbird have suggested are out of production and couldn’t find them anywhere) And which rims would work with them ? Also if anyone is kind enough to share some help/idea in making some sort of a rear flatbed or similar would be greatly appreciated.

I’m using an iPhone with latest iOS FYI. As for the buzwizz’s they are both fully charged when this behaviour is triggered. Another thing to help you with troubleshooting might be that when this “cut off” happens, I have to shut down and restart the application to get back to normal behaviour again. overall the battery of the buzwizz lasts quite fine, however this cutting off is at the very least annoying and it happens very very easily, in less than a minute on ludicrous and as I said a bit longer on fast. unfortunately I don’t have any android devices to test if it’s the same or not. As for range, I’ve been able to have normal control up to about 10-12 meters.

I too have the problem with buzwizz cutting out only after a few seconds on ludicrous, and even in fast but after a bit longer. This unfortunately make them almost unusable since this “safety” kicks in unnecessarily and way too early. any update on a fix please ?

Yeap, I folowed your advise/tip with using the bolt on the back of the tow ball to secure it in place and it worked wonderfully. Ive crash tested the buggy and its rock solid now. Very pleased. I noticed however that I might have done a mistake somewhere on re-assembly because the front wheels now are pointing just slightly off center to the right when the steering is in the center. I think that I probably misaligned the teeth maybe, but will have to (again) disassemble to see and fix.

So I spent a good 3-4 hours to take apart the front up to the servo and installed these tiny bolts on the back of the tow bar pins to reinforce them, in hoping that they will be staying put. Didnt have the chance to try it yet but will test drive it after work today. Will let you know how it performs.

That’s a great bargain! I’ve built. One a few weeks ago and then went ahead to make a few mods as seen in here. Definitely will be keeping this built. I might get a second one to build the C model or just gift it as a Christmas present.

I already thought of that since it’s the left that only comes out. Despite having used only new parts I just replaced the tow bar with a new one and will check tomorrow how it holds up. otherwise I’ll use that excellent tip of yours and use the screw. cheers !

@Didumos69 update: I investigated as best as I could. I found a mistake I made and fixed the “clicking” of the steering. It appears I had wrongly used two 12L axles instead of 10L (I believe that’s in step 137 or around there in the instructions) and therefore they were protruding at the back and made contact with the gear when steering. So I replaced with the correct 10L ones and it’s sorted. now as for the tow ball popping out. It still does with much less force than in your video. It’s actually popping out from the beam not from the grey wishbone. doublechecked and everything is correctly installed and in place. I’m out of ideas still. Using glue will be my last resort. Lol it seems we were typing simultaneously

I finished the build last night. Very satisfactory while building and excellent overall. Definitely not an easy build but well worth it. I build the orange version with very few differences (white coloumn behind the seats and 2 x 13L liftarms on the rear axles since I run out of black ones). To be really complete, I’m also missing 2 x 90 degree connectors for the roof and 2 x 12L axles for the rear “roof panels”. And now I’ll need some help. I tried to run it today for the first time and although overall is very tough and can indeed take a beating, I found out that unfortunately there’s a ver6 weak link that I don’t understand why. See the picture below: so when you drive, if it hits something with the front wheel, the part in the red circle in the photo above (don’t know what I should call it) comes out and results in the steering being uncontrollable anymore. Anyone has any idea how to make it more sturdy ? I’m even thinking of using glue to glue it in place. Any input would be greatly appreciated. last thing is that I notice the steering is very audible. I mean the gear that is powered by the servo motor and runs along the toothed beam makes a very audible kind of clicking noise. A noise which I could not hear in Didumos’s videos. Any idea ? anyway, as I said I’m very pleased with this MOC and can only highly recommend it. I’m looking forward for some outdoors driving and of course anyone’s input on the questions above for an6 possible solutions. cheers, Doc

@Didumos69 indeed great color. I’m still in the process of gathering the parts to built this and since I’m not familiar or knowledgeable on how to do it, may I ask for a part list that has only the different parts required for the orange build please ? (in a PM or email would be great)

New to the forums and I must admit that your creation made me drool over it. I went ahead and bought the instructions (thanks so much for making them available!) and now I’m waiting for parts to arrive to start building it. A few questions if I may and p,ease correc5 me if I’m wrong: Do I need 2 x Buzzwizz ? What’s the preferable way to install the tires ? In fact which tyres would be best to get ? Has there been any changes/updates that are not yet implemented in the instructions that I’d need to be aware of ? thanks in advance and again I really appreciate your efforts.
