  1. Sandtrooper FTW!! I love the detail on these guys. They are just begging to be army-built.
  2. I agree. And I think we're misreading the purpose of Cuusoo, which is to create new Lego models in the hopes of them becoming an official release. It's not necessarily a platform for petitioning the re-release of old sets; I'd have a few proposals of my own if that were the case.
  3. True, but it would also be nice if they diversified the offerings a bit more. There's a lot of great Clone Wars episodes that would make great sets.
  4. The Sith Nightspeeder is a Season 3 set, is it not...?
  5. I don't really consider myself a big MOC'er, but at $.39 it was too good of an opportunity to pass up. I picked up 20 of the Republic Attack Shuttles, mostly because opportunities to get pieces for that cheap are pretty few and far between.
  6. I'm still pretty underwhelmed by the DC selection so far. IMO the previous Batman theme was superior to what we're seeing here. I was especially looking forward to a great Superman set (i.e. Kent Farm or Fortress of Solitude), so the giant robot is something of a disappointment...
  7. Yeah, I did mean 10198. I assumed they were talking about the newest version of Tantive IV. To Eurospec: I would definitely go for 10198 over 10019. It's not as large, but is a much better looking model IMO. As long as you keep it out of direct sunlight and in a non-smoking environment, white pieces generally hold up pretty well. Keep in mind though that Lego are plastic toys and not meant to withstand the test of time; all of our white pieces could be discolored in the years ahead for all we know.
  8. Yep, the show is currently under the title "Star Wars: Detours" and should be on the way within the next few years. I hope we do see Lego sets from the show. The mix of comedy and Lego has always done well together, as we've seen from the various short films and in "The Padawan Menace".
  9. 10019 has been out for quite a while now, so I wouldn't be surprised to see it discontinued sometime in the early part of next year. 10212, on the other hand, has only been out a year. If past trends with Star Wars UCS are any indication, then it should still be around a few years from now.
  10. Wow, that's an impressive storage system. A bit too over the top for me, but it would definitely make the build itself go more quickly.
  11. Thanks for the info. If those are true, then that's quite a diverse spread as far as price-per-part ratios go. Anywhere from below $.10 right up to almost $.17!
  12. It was priced at $3.99 at Target. Most polybag sets range from $3.50 to $5.00, depending on the store and the set (i.e. licensed vs. unlicensed themes). But I agree, it would be a great bargain to get these sets for free in promotions.
  13. Great job!! An updated version of the Privet Drive set was something I've really been wanting to see from TLG.
  14. I'm not sure if it's been mentioned yet, but 30111 "The Lab" polybag set is now available in the U.S. at Target stores. I picked one up yesterday in the Christmas section. Happy hunting!
  15. Hats off to you! What a fantastic MOC... easily one of the most impressive I've ever seen.
  16. I'm a big fan of the newly designed battle packs for two reasons: (1) both factions are represented, which means troop building can happen at an equal rate for Rebels and Imperials. (2) The "extras" (tree, speeder bike, and cannon) are actually canon and very useful (i.e. buying multiple Endor BP's means you can build a bigger tree).
  17. I don't think the inclusion of a bridge scene "messed with the structure" of 10221 at all. In fact, it is so well designed that it's impossible to tell there's a removable panel once it's in place. I think this is a great move for TLG going forward. As long as the minifig features on UCS sets are well-designed and don't compromise the outward appearance too much, I say go for it.
  18. Tip: Order the boat rigging from Lego.
  19. Done! I enjoy doing these surveys for TLG, but I do wish we could see some more tangible results from them. Under the suggestions section, I put that we need a Lego store in my state.
  20. If you guys are going for accuracy, you might want to jump on the radar dish before it goes up in price any more. That piece alone might make or break some people's decision to part out this set. The lowest BL price as of this posting is $22...!
  21. I'm still hoping for at least a second wave as well! There's a lot of life still left in this theme.
  22. It's a shame that you can't purchase each of the vignettes without spending the $99, even though the page lists them at $9.99.
  23. I believe this one's $24.99.
  24. Looks pretty decent, but this is the weakest of the three new fighters IMO. The minifigs do look really good though. The sideways droid issue is really starting to get to me. I could let it slide on just the X-Wing, but it looks like this is becoming a bad trend...
  25. Cuusoo is such a fantastic idea! Big kudos to TLG for getting the fans involved like this in what gets considered as official product. I cast my support for the UCS Sandrawler. I seriously doubt we will ever see anything that enormous as an official product, but take the basic idea and scale it down a bit, and it's definitely possible.
