  1. 8129 has long been gone from the shelves of my local Toys R Us as well. I got one over the summer at a great deal on Ebay, and I'm glad I did.
  2. Awesome!!! I've been eagerly awaiting the release of a Palpatine's Arrest set, ever since it lost to Home One in the fans choice poll.
  3. I didn't realize it was gone at S@H as well...all clues seem to indicate that yes, it is being discontinued. I think the price on this set will jump significantly on the secondary market if that's the case.
  4. I hope the line survives for a bit longer as well. I mean, it's ridiculous that we haven't seen anything from At World's End.
  5. Very excited about the new 2012 polybag sets!!! I'm so glad we're getting Anakin's pod. And the rest look fantastic!
  6. I honestly don't see the LotR theme lasting 8-10 years. Not that I think it isn't capable of doing that, but Lego tends to stick with licensed themes that constantly have new material being released (i.e. Star Wars or even Spongebob). While there are the two Hobbit films looming on the horizon, my conservative estimate for the line is 3-5 years.
  7. I expect that the Summer 2012 wave will have slightly inflated prices as usual, but not in the range of a 20-40% increase like we're talking about here. I predict that the Skiff will be ~$30, Malevolence ~$80, with Jabba's Palace rounding it out as the most expensive, ~$100. It's also strange that we haven't heard or seen anything further regarding the upcoming R2-D2 and B-Wing, even though we've seen images of next summer's wave already. I'd love to know what next summer's exclusive sets will be too.
  8. My 10 year old brother will be very excited to know that Phineas and Ferb Lego sets are on the way! They should be interesting, probably normal minifig bodies with new molded heads.
  9. I agree, 10188 is easily one of the most quality Star Wars sets produced thus far. It stands out as both a display piece and as a playset. I am very surprised that it's still available, but I don't expect it to last much longer. It's sold out now at many major U.S. retail websites, like Target.com. It's only a matter of how many more TLG feels like they can sell.
  10. I picked up Mace Windu's Jedi Starfighter and Plo Koon's starfighter for 50% off at Walmart. They had tons of SW advent calendars for $19.90 as well.
  11. I was recently notified that I was a Third Prize winner; I assumed it was for my photo from last week (Dec. 10-16), although I did enter a photo in the first week as well...
  12. Unreal!!! Even though these are all very preliminary set pictures, it looks like they are all shaping up to be fantastic! And yes, those LotR sets look great!
  13. This is THE BEST THEME to come in a long time!!! And that's when I thought Lego could never top themselves after announcing DC and Marvel!! The LOTR/Hobbit theme has so much potential. I can't wait to see the initial offerings!
  14. Just to correct, nowhere has it been confirmed that TCW will only run for 100 episodes. If that were true then this season would be the last, and production of Season 5 is already well underway. Along with that, we can expect to see the animated Lego style minifigs continue into the future as well. Clone Wars sets are popular, especially among the target age group of the show, so there's really no reason to change them.
  15. I'm loving the lava detail on the Mustafar platform and mining droid. That set is a winner in my book!
  16. I love it! This is definitely more of what I was hoping to see out of the line. I can only hope that more modular sets are on the way (*hint* Fortress of Solitude!). I agree. I'm not sure if it's intentional on Lego's part or not, but I love the way these sets draw from different areas of the Batman franchise. When I saw the "Riddler box", I immediately thought of this from Batman Forever:
  17. To order pieces for the Falcon (including the grey boat rigging), simply click on the "Missing Parts" link under the Customer Service heading on the Lego.com homepage. After entering your age, select "Lost a part" from the list of options, and enter 10179 as the set. The site will then pull up a list of every single piece from 10179. Simply choose which pieces you want and add them to your bag (the quantities can be adjusted, but only one at a time). Once you submit your order, you'll get an email from a Lego representative within a few days with your order total. Simply call Lego to pay for the bricks, and that's it! It's the best way to obtain the rare/expensive pieces for 10179 if you're going for 100% accuracy.
  18. Sure can. It was $1.97 the last I checked.
  19. All of the pieces that you mentioned (minus the radar dish) can all be had for less than $50 if ordered directly from Lego. I just finished purchasing all of the bricks needed for 10179, and all-in-all it set me back about $600 (not including minifigures).
  20. I'm loving the new Sandtrooper design! That weathering is great.
  21. #1: The shuttle is 1:1 scale with the minifigures, so of course it's big. #2: Not seeing how you can call the UCS shuttle "lackluster" when comparing it to the horrible-looking System shuttle. Yeah it's expensive, but you can't knock it for that. You get what you pay for with these UCS sets in terms of accuracy and scale.
  22. Yes, I believe that particular astromech came in both sets. It's also in the new Advent Calendar.
  23. Nope. The Technic beams are used for the inner supports of the ship. P.S., if you're trying for a 100% accurate build like I did, it's a lot cheaper to buy the 1x16 Technic beams from Lego directly.
  24. I bit the bullet and picked up 10212 Imperial Shuttle when it was a Lightning Deal from Amazon last Friday! It's due to arrive tomorrow...can't wait!
  25. I scored the Cannibal Escape set for 50% off at Barnes & Noble's Black Friday sale!
