  1. If you want a modular Sanctum Sanctorum, there is the Mould King 16037 and Panlos 631001 sets. They are not knockoffs, but new third-party modulars that are Doctor Strange-themed. Mould King's goal is to be as internationally recognized as great a toy company as Lego is, their designs are original and their bricks are high-quality.
  2. I joined the blue team and I have no regrets https://www.bluebrixx.com/en/pirates/104122/Galleon-BlueBrixx-Pro https://www.bluebrixx.com/en/architecture/102818/Bluestone-Castle-BlueBrixx-Special https://www.bluebrixx.com/en/architecture/103301/Western-Fort-BlueBrixx-Special You know these wipe the floor with a lot of Lego D2Cs Mould King has some really neat stuff too https://www.yourwobb.com/products/mould-king-16037-sanctorum?variant=39670779642012 This isn't a knockoff of Lego 76108- they used the facade as inspiration and made it into a Modular Building.
  3. When you zoom out and look down at the set, the juxtaposition of grey and bright color creates that "enormous 1980s toy" aesthetic (despite being almost four decades later and made with modern engineering standards), like the USS Flagg or Fortress Maximus. In the 2060s, will people make nostalgia videos about this?
  4. The new pirate ship designed by BlueBrixx is looking pretty damn awesome, if you like clone brands. Expect it in late 2021. https://www.bluebrixx.com/en/pirates/104122/Pirates-Ship-BlueBrixx-Pro
  5. Everything Lego goes out of stock intermittently in the US. All this means is that it's not an enormous shelfwarmer.
  6. Have you tried adding sheets of cardboard between the tabletop and the baseplates? Lego boxes would probably give you decent control over the height with how thin they are. Putting them below the table legs seems wobbly.
  7. On the Bricklink site, TLG says "Due to other obligations the designer has had to withdraw this design from the program. We hope that we will be able to work with the designer again in the future!" for Robenanne's stuff. I wonder if TLG's legal team told Robenanne to pound sand for two-timing them, or if Robenanne actually chose to stick with Bluebrixx's haphazard licensing of the designs. It seems that clone brand UrGe straight up stole them from Robenanne's website, and then BlueBrixx struck a deal to pay Robenanne for the license to sell reboxed UrGe sets under the "BlueBrixx Pro" brand, and all of this happened before the sets were chosen for the AFOL Designer Program. It's a total mess, and it means we'll never see these sets in official Lego form, unless you buy all the bricks for them yourself off Bricklink.
  8. Hello, I have a 75827 Firehouse Headquarters for trade, mint in sealed box. I am in the United States. I am looking for the following: Any complete 10210 (used is OK) Any complete 70620 (used is OK) If your 10210 or 70620 is sealed, I am open to the idea of throwing in some $ to even it out. I will also entertain cash offers in crypto - BTC/ETH/LTC/BCH/USDC/Dai- if you want to pay with something else let me know. Thanks
  9. I didn't like the Nintendo, either, but there are lots of Nintendo fanboys (we used to call them Nintendrones) who will buy anything with Mario on it. So, at least Lego can move product. The old Mark Rosewater quote "This product is not for you" is very pertinent here.
  10. As a kid in '95, I would have loved this set. As an AFOL, I don't really care. Today's kids probably want Ninjago or Monkie Kid anyway.
  11. The typewriter is going to shelfwarm and it kind of annoys me. Jamie Berard once said, paraphrased, that Lego was an artistic medium to transport you to worlds that no longer exist (Pirates), are very hard to gain access to ( various Lamborghini sets) or cannot exist (Ninjago, Harry Potter). Typewriters do exist, and there are tons of them in junk stores that nobody wants. Why would you buy a nonfunctional Lego typewriter?
  12. Sets will be enhanced by augmented reality. Your Lego X-wings will fire AR laser beams that arc across the room.
  13. So, here's the 2021 Bricklink AFOL Designer Program. The results look good and include a lot of RobenAnne's stuff, including...some sets that were licensed to BlueBrixx? The 10% royalties beat Lego's previous policy of giving the creator ten copies of the set. No Caribbean Clipper? Sadge Lego will make a bazillion amazing pirate ships but God forbid the damn pirates actually have anything Imperial to pillage. Maybe the pirates are actually the formal navy of the nation of Pirateistan and they enforce law and order on the seas under the banner of the Jolly Roger.
  14. 4092 looks like it could draw some blood.
  15. Now that the Gardens is out, we can begin speculating on the next addition to the Ninjago City line in 2022...or 2024...hopefully this isn't the last.
  16. The Baba Yaga set is of good quality, but I think it lacks resonance in the USA and Asian markets.
  17. If you want to connect 71741 to 80107, I would think you would connect it to the pagoda island. However, aligning the trans-blue tiles to the sidewalk will look off, period.
  18. Western may be out of the picture because some of Lego's competing brands are focusing heavily on Western at the moment and they may not want to look bad by comparison.
  19. 70816 was a Galaxy Explorer homage, was it not?
  20. The CMFs are made in their own factory, right? The printing capabilities they have there may be better.
  21. The clip holding the tile is used officially in 76042. It is not illegal.
  22. This is correct. There will never be a rerelease of 70620 and 70657, because a big chunk of the target audience of Ninjago fans already has 70620 and 70657. However, the blurb about connectivity with the other parts of the city strongly suggests to me that we will see more expansions in the 2020s, especially if the Gardens sells briskly.
  23. Lego gives us a chance for a three-dimensional glimpse into someone else's mind. There aren't too many mediums that can do that.
  24. -Modular was revolutionary in 2010 but it's played out now and just consists of 20 and 30-something AFOLs posting pictures of streets to Reddit that all look exactly the same. It is Lego minus creativity. Your Modular street has more in common with Funko Pop than you want. to admit. -The Bluebrixx 2021 lineup looks better than what we've seen of the 2021 Lego Creator Expert lineup thus far. -Lego Star Wars is just the same tired designs over and over again.
  25. This is a really nice design, but the fire is way too rounded and should have more colors than just yellow.
