  1. True, but as my one-handed grandfather used to say, safety is overrated!
  2. True - I don't understand why they don't produce something that looks like an F7 but with modern technology inside. It could bring at least a little of the glamour back to passenger service. Anyway, these are really nice models, @zephyr1934! The curved car bodies are just brilliant.
  3. Let n = the number of segments to make a complete circle. Let x = the angle in degrees between each segment. Then x = 360 / n (assuming you want equal angles between all segments).
  4. That's excellent! The landscaping and birch trees are really well built, and that's some nice part use with the droid arms for the fence!
  5. Nice! I think small-scale ships like this are more impressive than larger models because of the creativity required to get details right. Excellent work!
  6. That's awesome! The interior is really nice, as well as the landscaping. Well done!
  7. That's beautiful! I like the brick-built lining technique.
  8. Awesome! This looks like something Baron von Barron would buy with the treasure he...er..."liberates."
  9. Very nice, especially the beautiful stained glass and the fountain. The chandelier is clever too.
  10. Wow wow wow. Wow. The stonework, the different techniques for roofs, and the half-timbered buildings are all incredible. Nice smaller details too, like the horse droppings in the street and the way the minifigures are posed. You've truly created a masterpiece!
  11. Beautiful! I love the hull technique and the rigging details.
  12. I only floss with 14.5x114mm cartridges, thank you very much.
  13. You might consider building the sides in SNOT rather than stacked bricks for a thinner profile. Then your vertical supports could be as little as one plate thick.
  14. It would depend at what scale you want to build. For a minifig-scale (can of worms defining that, I know) build, I would probably make the round part octagonal using smaller straight sections on hinges. Check out this topic by @soccerkid6 for some helpful tutorials including round towers. Also, I believe many medieval buildings were originally whitewashed, so you would have a good reason to build in white.
  15. I also prefer the 16th and 17th centuries. I'm fascinated by the technology and tactics of the time, especially the dragoons/cavalry troopers that inspired this vignette for a fantasy story I'm working on.
  16. Nice work! The GT3 has always been one of my favorite experimental locomotives (probably because it looks so much like a steam engine) and you've captured it well.
  17. That's an excellent rendition of quite an unusual locomotive! The sand green livery looks really nice.
  18. This is beautiful! So many great details!
  19. What a shame. The ship's tragic history is fascinating enough on its own even if a movie had never been made about it. Also, the 1953 Clifton Webb/Barbara Stanwyck movie was better. Change my mind.
  20. I had no idea they had experimented with 8-wide way back then. Those steam engines at the top of the last image make me drool! Thanks for posting the article!
  21. That's a lovely combination of modern techniques with classic style. Well done!
  22. Excellent wagons! The changes to the locomotive are amazing!
  23. Nice render! She looks ready to take on the Ori!
  24. We southerners already have one, y'all!
  25. Amazing! I love the textures and detailing of the roof and stonework!
