  1. Well, it is kind of obvious, but needs to be mentioned here: the new Harry Potter poseable short legs can be useful for making poseable dwarves, hobbits and other halflings. Let us hope they come in other themes as well.
  2. This is awesome! Is the bird's head supposed to be armored? It should be relatively easy to attach this head to a LOTR eagle (after you saw off the head). The wings will enable a new class of white pegasi when attached to a horse. Easy. Even greater is the blueish creature's head. With 7 of those you can make a great hydra I guess.
  3. It is old news really, but I wanted to point out that the new mammoth can be used in historic themes as well. I like that it has two areas with studs on top (the old elephant only has one), so it can have more figs and structures on top. Also it would be nice to see chariots with the new sabertooth tigers.
  4. Hear ye, hear ye! Here speaketh the creator of the thread. My favourite thread, the only one I regularly check on EB. Please don‘t waste our time with discussions of genre, history or Nexo Knights. They lead nowhere (believe me, I have a Ph.D. in occult and Fantasy literature) and make me scroll endlessly when I look for new parts which can be used for historic themes.
  5. I think it will be easy to use the new Indoraptor as a new DRAGON. So far, it has been difficult to use dinos as dragons, because their body are short and fat, their tails short, army tiny and they don't have a long neck. So even if you added wings, it looked odd. The Indoraptor, in contrast, has a very long tail, big arms and a slim long body. As its color is black, there are neck pieces, wings, and even heads available to complete it. This should work as a purist option.
  6. "Döner macht schöner" German proverb: "Kebab makes beautiful". Great backstory! I like how the rod actually looks red hot. The poor boy has to turn the meat all day?!
  7. Hi Ribbigkid, if I were you, I would try Bricklink.com. Then click on Minifigs. When you look at a page like this for example: https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?M=njo174#T=S&O={"iconly":0} It shows you indicators of how rare a fig can be considered: - price (these are real prices, not some crazy collectors prices that no one pays) - expensive means more rare - number of sellers (lots for sale worldwide) - less sellers mean more rare - number of sets the fig is in - (less sets mean more rare) I like this method because it shows you the real and current market situation.
  8. Has anyone seen them in stores in Germany already?
  9. Thank you. Using third party parts is a very soft form of customization and maybe worth a try... They are from "Nicebricks" on Bricklink, an entrepreneur provider of custom parts in Monaco. He has good stuff. I have no idea how a single person has access to the necessary tools for making parts with this quality, but he makes them. I have bought several different parts from him and have always enjoyed it. I paid 2 Euro per helmet, but now they are 50% off.
  10. If you don't shy away from customization the gentlemen might enjoy some of my latest additions:
  11. Asking whether you like custom elements in the MCW is kinda like walking into a soccer game and asking "So, kicking a ball, is it fun?" I can recommend all of the usual providers of custom parts: Brickwarriors - highest quality equipment, weird figs though Brickforge - highest quality Brickarms - highest quality Nicebricks - a one man company, high quality, great ideas, limited quantity CapeMadness - highest quality, it is amazing I have never ever regretted buying stuff from the abovementioned suppliers.
  12. Thanks Agent Kallus. This looks very versatile.
  13. Very interesting! I cannot find any picture of this. Could someone post one?
  14. Thanks! Godd to see your gargoyles again. I still remember the one with the wings. I love the claws. And thanks Juxtapoisson!
  15. Thanks Umbra-Manis for your nice words. Keep an eye out for the next Cold Ones.
  16. Dark Elf Boar Blocker Guards In order to counter the recent proliferation of wild creatures serving in enemy armies the Dark Elves decided they needed more spears. After all a strong blade and a long stick is exactly what most of us indeed prefer when facing an Orc on a wild boar, an Elf on a bear or even some angry human dude on a horse. Here the Boar Blockers are supported by some friends with similar interest, the Wavebreaker Guards. 18. Obscurative Tectodemonic Neogargoylatry Although generally considered one of the mortal sins of Granite Magic, Obscurative Tectodemonic Neogargoylatry (OTN) is sometimes resorted to in times of lithic wrath. The earthquakes surrounding such an unnatural spectacle of nature spread panic among creatures softer and warmer than the ancient rock below their feet. Obscurative Tectodemonic Neogargoylatry by MWardancer, auf Flickr A pretty straight-forward build. TLG for some reason chose violet as color for their stone monsters. I figured gray is a little more ... stonish.
  19. Dark Elf Cold One Riders The Dark Elf General has mustered a new soldier for his pack of Cold Ones. These fierce predators thrive on ice, snow, fear and loneliness. And he shall not be the last... Dark Elf Cold One Riders by MWardancer, auf Flickr
  20. You are right. What a great new shield! Evil it is. And visually compatible with the old one I believe. Is there any chance the sticker is preliminary and the real thing will be printed? Has anyone ever tried covering a sticker with semiglossy paint to make it look more printed?
  21. Isn’t this the goblin king shield that has been around for a while? This is printed. I am glad they come in bigger numbers. Or are you seeing something I dont? Is it yet another new shield? very useful they are: https://www.flickr.com/photos/63704134@N07/34404418401
  22. Great theme! I have watched "Vikings" a lot recently and thought that there should be more LEGO about vikings. Brick on Ed-209.
  23. Uhm, thanks for mentioning my semi-glossy mix. But be careful: Revell paints are of a different chemistry than Citatel. The Revell might dissolve the Citadel paint. You have to try that on an extra brick before you ruin something nice!
  24. It is hard to think of anything to add to what AmperZand wrote. But maybe a personal note might be useful. As a customizer I have no inhibitions for cutting, maiming or painting figs. Many so-called purists have these inhibitions, I don't. Yet I have never ordered a custom printed fig from any of the services around (there are many). I also don't have a Problem with spending a lot of money on figs. Some of my customs cost about 50 Euro for parts, paints etc. So I think there are three factors why I have never bought a custom fig. Firstly, sometimes the chase is better than the catch, the process is better than the result. Just ordering a custom fig takes the sport out of making the fig. An online service would have to make the designing experience complex and fun. Secondly, price is a still factor, for army building for example. Thirdly, no manufacturer I know can do metallic printing. This is a huge problem for historical figs.
  25. I have been hoping for another version of the tower shield for a while. Yes, it has the bat logo, but it might just Look like a random pattern if the rest of the fig has no more bats. Especially since the pattern is mirrored at the bottom. With a tiny sprinkle of gold or black a customizer may get rid any bat associations.
