  1. its really interesting to see how this model has been iterated on over the years. the current generation is probably my favorite lego model.
  2. great post, this was very interesting to read
  3. this is amazing.
  4. my favorite part of building this model was seeing all of these unusual techniques. they are really elegant.
  5. really nice shaping on a very difficult build.
  6. how close in size is this version to the 10179 falcon? I have the 10179 and I'm trying to modify it to make it look better, and I was hoping to incorporate some of the improvements in the latest version.
  7. the dreadnaught and battlecruiser are my favorite too.
  8. I have been working on your version for a little while now, and I built the cehnot x-wing earlier. they are both fantastic designs, I am really amazed at some of the building techniques, and the finished product looks great. I am looking forward to seeing more of your work.
  9. thats a huge compliment- his models are awesome. I also bought the instructions, I'm interested in comparing the two as well. keep up the good work, I would love to see your take on some other ships. this x-wing is far and away my favorite, way better than even official builds.
  10. I just saw this: https://www.brickvault.toys/products/x-wing-starfighter-minifig-scale it certainly looks like it drew inspiration from your model.
  11. wow these are great, especially the trireme. I would love to see more.
  12. I agree its a stunning model and id love to build it too. I've only recreated one MOC from pictures alone and it was small, and simple. I've made a few that were around this size using only the LDD file, and that was very challenging. this is a pro-level build, I'm sure theres lots of brilliant building techniques hidden in there. I'm not trying to discourage you, but I wanted to give my opinion before you commit time and money.
  13. this is the best moc I have ever seen.
  14. I am all finished, except for a few minor details. It looks fantastic. Thanks for all your help and this excellent model. The design and building techniques were very interesting.
  15. I am about 95% finished building this excellent model, really challenging and interesting build. I had two questions- 1. where do I attach the landing gears? it wasn't obvious to me from the LDD, I tried to drag and drop the individual sections together but I couldn't figure out how to do it (I have never used LDD before). 2. theres a gap between the side and top panels on the nose- its actually a little worse than what the picture shows. did I make a mistake? is there anyway to address this?
  16. really nice. I too would be interested in the LDD.
  17. thanks so much for the pictures, I finally got the gear box and wings working. I completely missed the cut hinge the first time around. I wound up having to glue the 2x2 hinges in the nose, I couldn't get it to stay on while attempt to attach the side panels. this really is a fantastic model, and the building techniques are fascinating. I would love to see more of your models.
  18. I've been working on building this for a while now. The design is fantastic, no other model comes close to having the correct shape and proportions, not even the UCS Red 5. There is some brilliant lego engineering here, really impressive. However I found this model very difficult to build. Building the gear box and S-Foils from the LDD was a real challenge, and I can't figure out if I got it all right. I'm not sure if its fitting into the main body correctly- I noticed some sections (like the nose) have a <1 tile gap that is intentional, its difficult to tell from the LDD if this is also the case with the gears. Also, I appreciate all the effort you took to make the model sturdy, but I will almost certainly need to use some glue to finish this.
