  1. Congratulations to all the winners, and the Rebellion Does anyone know how much a carbonite tag will cost me on the black market?
  2. I've just finished building mine, and it's a lot better than I'd imagined. The only downside are the plastic sails which are waaay too shiny and, well, plastic!! I managed to get mine at a 33% discount (bless Amazon), and at that price it was very reasonable, but I wouldn't recommend buying one at full RRP.
  3. Thanks for sharing, this is really impressive The exterior is a great improvement on the original versions, and you've got the amount of greebling just right. I hope that Lego will re-release the UCS version (or possibly an updated model) at some point; it's far too expensive to Bricklink
  4. Unless you just happen to be called madoka.... I'm hoping that the final version will have an updated line-up: 1 Royal Guard, 1 Death Star Gunner, 1 Imperial Officer & 1 Stormtrooper. That would be a great combination and I'm sure it would sell really well, but it's probably wishful thinking!
  5. Thanks everyone It's been great to see all of the entries, I'll be very interested to see who wins!!
  6. Amazon have the Republic Gunship (75021) and AT-TE (75019) both at 33% off (again!) You might need to be quick
  7. Have you considered using 4592c02 - Light Bluish Gray Lever Small Base with Black Lever? They're only about 1p each new....and they look ok on the UCS Falcon!!
  8. A couple of other great SW deals on Amazon (UK) at the moment: AT-TE (75019) for £53.33 that's 33% off (link) Duel on Geonosis (75017) for £26.66 also 33% off (link)
  9. Do you mean Hoth Echo Base (7879) because that's truly awful...I got it at about 30% off and I still felt cheated!! It looks like it was designed by a 10 year old. The only redeeming bit was a couple of nice minifigures (2-1B and R-3PO). I've always wanted to buy it, but the current cost is just too much for me to live with
  10. I'm just slightly OCD about the effects of light etc, so I've got around this by keeping everything in my darkened man-cave. I have three small shelves which are completely filled with system-scale sets (all OT), and everything else that I can't find space for is kept in the original boxes. All of my UCS sets are stored in their orginal boxes and also in their outer/transport packaging.....just to be sure
  11. Hi Bob, I'm sad to see this unfinished, but I understand your reasoning. If you're looking for a new project how about a Classic Star Destroyer using parts that are currently available!! I'm always on the lookout for a new project to Bricklink..... Cheers, Robin
  12. I've just ordered Jabba's Sailbarge (75023) from Amazon (UK) for £66.66, it was too good to miss at that price! (link) There's lots of other SW sets on sale.....
  13. There's lots of great deals on Amazon at the moment, including several of the new SW sets @ 33% off: Jabba's Sailbarge (75020) @ £66.66 (link) Homing Spider Droid (75016) @ £19.99 (link) Millennium Falcon (7965) @ £86.66 (link) Advent calendar (75023) @ £16.66 (link) I couldn't resist the Sailbarge at that price
  14. A truly unique design!! Some of the details are excellent; I especially like the Gammorrean Guard being dangled infront of the Rancor! Great work
  15. Tesco Direct have some decent deals at the moment, for example: Jabba's Palace @ £80 - a further £10 (if you spend over £75 using code TDX-HF4K) = £70. Plus you also get 500 extra clubcard points if you spend more than £25 on Lego, which equals a total of 580 points, or £5.80 reducing the (overall) cost to £64.20!!
  16. Great work! You've obviously put a lot of effort into this, and have captured the look of Cloud City really well.
  17. I thought that the primary aim of this thread was to share deals with other members of our community.... and I've often posted here in that spirit. Personally, I find it rather sad if the motivation of others has been otherwise. I won't say anymore than that
  18. Beautiful lighting MstrOfPppts  You've captured the look of Cloud City really well. Excellent work (for the Empire )
  19. Amazing work Anio, this is stunning!
  20. Congratulations Rook and jasbury, it's great to have you onboard!
  21. Thanks for the review Ritz Brick, although the photos seem to have dissapeared I'm still hoping that this will be available as a promo in Europe at some point..... I'll never understand Lego's approach to this sort of thing, especially in the days of the internet. I'm still feeling rather grumpy about the May 4th B-wing (offer) but it's probably best if I stop at that point!!
  22. Thanks Doc, it's a great honour to be asked. I'll do my best to be impartial... even on the Ewok front And, thanks Bob
  23. Good point In my defence I should blame Lego as their current version is a hybrid of the two which does confuse things or, more likely, perhaps it's my age!
  24. I started to build one a while ago, but gave up after about sourcing 50% of it. I couldn't get the engine parts from anywhere inside Europe, and the magnets etc are very expensive new... it would be cheaper to buy a decent used example from Ebay I wouldn't recommend it, unless you just want a project!
