I got 3 for 75017 (Duel on Geonosis) and 2 for 75016 (Spider Droid) so I'd guess it's one per £10 SW spend rounded down......
-
I just purchased (75017) Duel on Geonosis - it's a bit pricey for the size of the set but I took advantage of the current Argos 3 for 2 deal which made it a bit more reasonable. It's definitely my favourite set of the new wave, it's sooo nice to see a new non-CW Yoda and Count Dooku
-
The reduction is applied when you pay for it You should also get a £5 voucher, plus several 'Padwan points' (the stickers are on the boxes and less than straightforward to remove - if you collect 5 you should get you the Character Encyclopedia, but it's all a bit vague!!)

Stunning work Outworlder, I'm really looking forward to seeing this finished!

Shadows of Nar Eurbrikka — Introduction and Discussion

Welcome to the dark side, Empire -
I've just grabbed 3 x Droid Escape (9490) from my local Boots today @ 50% off, I couldn't believe my luck!! I just love the Sandtroopers
-
Thanks Empire, that's sounds interesting! Did they give any hints as to what they might be? If the Ewok Village is a success (and I'm sure it will) it would make sense to have a couple of add-on sets; possibly some larger trees, the dish, or even the landing platform. It's a nice thought, if nothing else!

Sounds interesting.....

I've just noticed that 3 of the new planet sets are available on the LEGO website (link). I'm going to do my best for this not to sound like a rant but: The UK price for them is £11.99 each, which is the same as the current battle packs!! Considering they're struggling to sell some of the last series at 50% off (£4.99) it's an interesting price-point Ah well, I'll wait for the inevitible sales on these; perhaps it's the reason why one of the main UK stores (Argos) isn't selling them anymore.

Excellent work markus 1984, it's just perfect.....not that I'm easily swayed by anything Cloud City! (link)

There's a lot of larger parts in the Falcon that pushes the cost up, mainly the Technic Frame and the outer plates. With a lot of searching I managed to source all new parts for around £600 inc p&p, which was about 10% above my initial estimate. I ended up using alternative colours for about 300 parts (grey levers, rigging, dish etc) otherwise the cost would have been too high I'd strongly recommend that you spend a lot of time on Bricklink planning your orders and to check the LEGO website; although they're more expensive for a lot of the parts they are considerably cheaper for some (Techinc beams, yellow corner brackets, red plate etc etc!). It's a stunning set to build, but it will take a lot of effort!

Great review Ritz Brick The photographs are really well done, and it's interesting to see that Chewie hasn't changed much in the last 13 years (apart from the quality of the printing!).
-
The wookie looks really cute Oddly I quite like this set, I'm not sure why but it has something about it.... However, it seems a strange choice to fabricate if this isn't real, I guess we'll know in a couple of hours.
-
Thanks DrDave, I'm glad you enjoyed it! I'm still looking for another big project, but after finishing the 10179 Falcon recently there isn't much else I can do.... Unfortunately, there's some really rare parts in the Blockade Runner, Y-wing and Star Destroyer which makes them un-viable and I don't think that I'm brave enough to attempt cavegod's superb UCS AT-AT

Thanks Doc for the welcome! I'm still trying to retain my neutrality, although any quality Bespin MOCs are going to do well (or Episode V ones for that matter ). However, I'll do my best to be fair to all, including the all powerful Empire. Whilst I do have sympathy for the Rebellion, I really can't abide ewoks so that might be a bit of a problem..!! Cheers, Robin

 Thanks, you just made my day!! Assuming that the seller has paid the full retail price.... I split a couple of sets a while ago that I'd got with a 40-50% discount and it made the margins a lot better I've always sell my minifigures as being 'new' but made it clear that I've split them from a new set, and that they've never been assembled.

[MOC] UCS Nebulon B - Medical Frigate 'Redemption'
Lobot replied to mortesv's topic in LEGO Star Wars
If the weight of the model is reasonably well spread, would it be possible to display it over the edge of a table or shelf, or would that be too tempting for a cat? (I've got one, but she's old and just sleeps a lot!!) That way you wouldn't need to have such a tall stand.... alternatively have you considered a 'U' shaped frame with one bar to support the engine section and another one at the back of the front 'fin' which could be at 45 degrees (e.g. the left part of a 'v'!) that way it could be quite low and wouldn't interfere with the front structure. Cheers, Robin -
This is looking very promising cavegod! You've got the overall shape spot-on and the rear 'spine' is beautiful but as Doc says, the hull looks a bit too colourful to me. The majority of images I've seen of it are 90-95% white, with just the occasional hint of dark and light grey. Also, if you look at the photo there are vertical 'bands' of plates around the hull, but the majority of yours seem to be running in a horizontal direction? Are you going to add some greebling along the split between the top and bottom hull sections? It looks like there's quite a lot of detail that could be added. Can you add a photo of the rear/engines, I'd like to see how you've built it. I hope that this helps; I'm really looking forward to seeing it finished!

This is excellent, mortesv!  I'd love to see Lego sell this. A couple of weeks ago I would have suggested that you should put it on Cuusoo, but after their decision about Marshal's Sandcrawler it's probably best not to bother! How many parts did you use? I'd love to see the LDD file..... I've been looking for another big Bricklink project -
Hi I've got 6 spare 30213 - Gandalf polybags (link here) from the Daily Mail Promo. I'm willing to accept any decent cash offers, or a direct trade for sealed SW minifigure polybags. I'd prefer to sell/trade them as a job lot but will consider offers for individual ones. Obviously, everything is new & sealed! Happy to post woldwide at cost, please PM me any offers. Cheers, Robin

Promotion of Brickdoctor to Star Wars moderator
Lobot replied to Bonaparte's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Congratulations Doc! Now that you rule the SW galaxy should we now call you the Emperor, or would you prefer EmperorDoc? It's totally deserved and I'm sure that you'll continue to do an excellent job! -
Welcome to Eurobricks! As you've probably found there are several other threads about the UCS Falcon, it's a serious undertaking but great fun if you're brave enough! It took me about 2 months to gather the parts, but this included about 3 weeks of waiting as Lego had several items on 'backorder'. I'd highly recommend having a look at the new Lego parts website as they now sell rarer parts directly and some of these are far cheaper than the standard Bricklink cost. Are you going to try & source 100% accurate parts, or replace some? I ended up using about 300 alternatives, which wasn't too bad from total of 5,000+ parts and it saved me a lot! Anyway, best of luck and I'll look forward to seeing updates.

Or recycle it, or use it to line your compost bin! I do miss the Sun promos - 30p for a nice little Lego set and several weeks worth of free bio-degradable bin liners...... My nephew loved the sets and it was a real shame when they stopped it. I'll never understand why there was so much negativity; if you didn't want the paper you didn't have to read it I don't think that Ebay will be flooded with these sets as before, the higher cost of the paper will limit this in my opinion; there's also a rumour that a limit of 5 will be enforced. I'm going to try and grab a handful of the Gandalf's, but I'll give the car a miss. It will be interesting to see if it continues next week......
