  1. I'm amazed by the exceptional quality control that Lego has, I don't know how they do it! In all of the sets I've built I've only been missing one part (a 2x4 LBG tile) from 10221 and I received a replacement very quickly, so it's certainly nothing I worry about....and I do tend to worry about most things! And, I'll admit, I also ordered a replacement tan 2x2 tile that I thought was missing from a new 4504...and then found it lurking in the bottom of the box. Sorry about that TLG, but I hope that my purchases since then have more than made up for it!!
  2. Hi Dino, it's a good question, but Amazon UK already have them listed as being available in '1-2 months'. The Mos Eisley set looks like an instant classic, and seems like great deal even at RRP
  3. Both sets are officially retired in the UK, and I haven't them in any main retailers for a while, so I'd grab them as soon as possible if you can find them
  4. After much deliberation, my personal view on this is 'Meh'... I've tried to like it, but it just doesn't work for me. I love most OT, and can almost appreciate a small number of PT sets and minifgures, but this is just too unfamiliar for me. If I do end up buying something during the promo mine will be destined for Ebay
  5. I think that this would do well on CUUSOO, there's going to be a lot of OT fans out there who would love to buy it (me included!). It also strikes a very good balance between being impressively detailed, but still having a sensible part count (and subsequent potential RRP). Good luck if you decide to submit it, I'm sure that a lot of EB members would support it
  6. ^^ Thanks Faefrost, it's close to what I was hoping for, but doesn't have the cup of blue milk! (Sorry that I couldn't quote you but since I 'upgraded to IE 11, it often doesn't let me!) It's interesting that there might be two different time 'windows' for Europe & the US, that's just bizarre. I'm hoping that we'll get at least the same deals this year, I'm still smarting over the UCS B-Wing....
  7. This is great work, you've got the lighting just right I particularly like the design of the floor, including the dark red detailing and the recessed pipework. Using the cheese slopes for the door is ingenious, I might have to borrow that at some point! Oh, and nice TC-4 by the way
  8. The majority of my collection is OT, both system-scale and UCS, but I do have a handful of PT sets. Everything I own has been opened and built, but I only keep a small amount on display, the rest is carefully stored in the original boxes. One of the problems of collection Lego SW these days is that there's simply too much of it, and I feel that I need to moderate my purchases to keep mine to a sensible amount. Perhaps I'm a bit odd, but I frequently have a ‘Good’ and ‘Evil’ Homer moment about collecting in general and it often results in me down-sizing it all for a bit! I’m quietly hoping that we’ll get some new Cloud City sets at some point, and then I will get everything available!
  9. +1 for LegoFjotten, a pleasure to trade with
  10. it's an interesting choice for May 4th and, to be honest, I don't think that it will be that popular. I was expecting a character that was more 'mainstream', and for it to be linked to the release of the new Sandcrawler...even a chrome R2 perhaps? Ah well, unless there's a really good deal on the Death Star or Ewok Village, I can't see myself buying much this year
  11. Wow, this is incredible (and on a par with your UCS AT-AT! I'd love to see this built, it's a considerable improvement on the official version. I've deep-linked one of the images below: Cheers, Robin
  12. Impressive, most impressive! Excellent design, and one of the best large-scale versions that I've seen:
  13. I was really disappointed by Han last year, but this is even less appealing to me (no offence to KOTOR fans!). I've been quietly expecting a Tatooine-related offering, but it's not looking hopeful now
  14. For anyone who wants to see where the original (new) UCS Falcon rumour originated from, it's here: http://www.bricklink...d.asp?ID=166002 And some members would do well to remember that all of the staff give their time voluntarily; and trying to be 'clever' with them is anything but.
  15. 2 x 75017 Duel on Geonosis at 75% off! One of my best deals ever, and from my local Tesco It's a great parts-pack and will be a total bargain once I've off-loaded the minifigures!
  16. Great design, as usual, Anio! As mentioned before it's not the most interesting of ships, but you've made the best of it that anyone could expect. I particularly like that you've used 'matt' sails, as the ones on the current version are just so shiny, it's awful! I hadn't realised that your Speeder Bike was so large until now!
  17. I'm quite optimistic about the potential for an updated UCS Falcon, the original source of the rumour seems reliable and the fact that it's been included in the recent advert is a great sign. I've said it before but it would be a highly inspired move by LEGO if they did this; the timing is perfect and it would be a great flagship for the brand. If you look at the vast up-surge in the number of EB members in the last 3 years (around 100K) as an indicator of the current popularity of LEGO, there's got to be a decent market for it. I'm not one to bet, but I'll be very surprised if we don't get one sometime in the next year
  18. Hi I've got the following SW minifigures for sale or trade, all are brand new: 75017 Yoda with lightsaber (x2) 75017 Count Dooku with lightsaber (x2) 75017 FA-4 Pilot Droid (x2) 75017 Poggle the Lesser with staff and hologram (x2) 75023 R5-F7 75023 Endor Rebel Trooper 75023 Bike Scout (new style) 7879 Han Solo 7879 Tauntaun TC-4 Polybags (sealed) x 2 I'm always looking for new & sealed TC-14s, or any figures from #10123 (must be in excellent condition!). I've made several trades here, and have 350 positive feedbacks on Ebay. I'm based in the UK but happy to post worldwide. Any reasonable offers considered
  19. Hi Hireshade & ppana, you won't be able to use the PM system until you've made 10 posts
  20. Thanks Nom, hopefully it will be good propoganda for our cause! Thanks, added Thanks, the LEDs are always tricky to get right, but it's an interesting challenge! Thanks BEAVeR, I appreciate your comments. I considered using dark brown, but it didn't look right (and if I remember my Geology, igneous rocks are typically black or very dark grey!). In the prototype stage I included several mineral 'veins' to break it up a bit, using some trans-neon green 1x1 studs, but I couldn't create the look that I was hoping for so they didn't make the final cut! I did consider adding more consoles, but it was starting to look a bit cluttered....and with the way technology is going these days the Empire could have run the entire system via a smartphone!
  21. This is my entry for Episode IV of SoNE Sector C: Communications station The fleeing rebels run through an endless maze of corridors and chambers and eventually stumble upon the main Communications centre. The unarmed Imperial Officers don't stand a chance against the evil rebels and prepare for the inevitable end. However, in the last moment one of the officers activates a trusty mouse droid and, at the sight of it, the rebels flee in terror I'm quite pleased with this, although it's been almost impossible to photograph.....as usual illuminated with Technic LEDs. I'd originally intended to build several searchlights to illuminate the main tower, but the LEDs aren't bright enough so I had to give up on that idea! I spent ages on the internal rocks, I know that it's very odd but it was probably the most fun part of the build. I'm still not 100% happy with the main communication tower, but this is about v15 and it's driving me nuts! Main shot (The rebels flee in terror, at the first sight of the little mouse droid): Daytime shot (I'm quite pleased with the design of the rocks): Overall layout (I can't believe how much time I've spent on the main tower!): Interior (with top section removed): Anyway, I hope that you like it, good luck to my Imperial brothers in the competition! C & C always welcome
  22. Yes, but there's a lot of small parts, so that isn't necessarily a good indicator of value. It will be interesting to see the net weight of the set; I'd be very surprised if it's near to the Imperial Shuttle and that was only 2,500 parts and the same RRP.
  23. Hi, and welcome to Eurobricks! You can't directly upload images to EB, so you'll need to use flickr or Brickshelf etc to host them, and then deeplink from it. Here's a link to a EB tutorial which should help (link), just try and keep the photos to about 800 pixels! If you need to re-size them here's another tutorial (link) I hope that this helps, but please ask if you need any more help
  24. I'm a bit disappointed that there aren't any PFs, considering what's possible (i.e. 8043), but such is life. It's an impressive model and I'm sure that I'll be getting it at some point when it's on sale! Apart from the tracks it should be an interesting build
  25. Yes, it's also on the DK website I'm not one to be too critical about things, but what were TLG thinking of?
